Great location, I remember the arches being derelict for decades, so this is a fantastic use of the space ❗❗ Love the look, which is not refined but it is cool and makes me want to relax and soak up the atmosphere, today it was funk and soul music Friendly and competent staff, great 👍🏻5⭐ Drinks ....big choice and plenty cocktails Now to the meat on the bones, the food; first class, well cooked, presented, hot, fresh, obviously good quality. One of the best burgers I have had, the steak was first class, macaroni side was also great We look forward to returning soon and recommending. Note: very fairly priced, so a solid 5⭐🐮🐂

We first came in for a spontaneous lunch. And we loved it so much we made a reservation for dinner the next day. For lunch I had the flat iron. And it was really tender and flavourful. For dinner I had the oysters to start. (Amazing vinaigrette) and the sirloin with bone-marrow gravy. The steak was cooked to perfection for me. And the gravy was so good. My side dish was brocolinni sauteed with chili. Also really good. And the staff was super friendly on both the lunch and dinner time. During lunch, Jordan (I think that was his name) even helped my mom get up on the high table. (She has a bad back) which was so nice of him. If you want to enjoy a good steak. This is definitely a place you can go to.

Visiting Aberdeen for business and staying in the hotel so came here due to convenience. Was rather quiet, however, was pleasantly surprised by the food. Ordered the calamari to start then the haddock which were both very enjoyable. Thanks to Maria for the great service. Will be returning in the future.

Nice place, particular, tidy. Excellent environment and in my opinion very nice furnishings in the context. Staff very kind and always available. This is a Steak House where you eat excellent dishes of good meat 🥩. The potato side dish is also delicious 🥔 . The desserts 🍰 are to be evaluated, Irish Ice Cream is not really an ice cream but a sort of cappuccino (it's probably like that here) overall very satisfying.

El martes por la noche, pedimos un filete mediano Tomahawk, que era masticable, soso y crudo (frío al tacto). La costilla - ojo estaba crudo también. Entretuvimos a los huéspedes y fue inapropiado quejarse. Se me ocurren mejores lugares para gastar 375 libras. Mala calidad y cocinado de manera inapropiada no es aceptable para el precio. Los camareros deberían haber notado que no estamos comiendo el Tomahawk y preguntaron por ello. ¡Era obvio! Los postres vinieron en lotes. Para cuando algunos huéspedes recibieron su postre, los que ya se sirven esperando todo el pedido, tenían helado derretido - helado. El amargo Amaretto no vino como se había pedido. Tenía un bloque de hielo que redujo la bebida a probablemente la mitad de lo que se sirve en otros establecimientos similares. No pierdas tu tiempo y dinero.

Bit dissatisfied with our visit for the prices. We ordered 2 steaks both medium rare. One was very dry and overcooked, not juicy at all. The knife was blunt so It was very hard to cut. My partner's steak wasn't as dry but inside it was raw, not rare. That was a bit hard to cut aswell. We were the only ones there and we waited a long time for our food. My partner really enjoyed her dessert.

Not a bad place with good, decent steaks, cocktails, and sides. The atmosphere is really cool, especially with the hanging sofas on the ground floor and a nice view of the Governor’s House and Calton Hill from the first floor. However, my last experience here was quite disappointing. We were seated at a table near what I assume was the kitchen upstairs, and staff kept carrying bags of waste past us. The smell and sight weren’t exactly appetizing. On top of that, service was extremely slow - we waited a long time just to have our order taken, and it felt like we were forgotten, even though the restaurant wasn’t crowded (only about three tables were occupied). Plus, the music was too loud, making it really hard to communicate. I might give this place another try because the food was decent, and I’d still recommend it for that. But I really hope they remove that table.

Absolutely amazing meal had here. Myself and my partner were celebrating our anniversary and upon mentioning this as the reason for our visit, the lovely staff member (sorry I forget her name!) brought out two glasses of prosecco for us on the house. A really nice touch! Onto the food, simply delicious. We had the Chateaubriand (medium which was perfect even though I normally order medium/rare) with thick cut chips, broccolini, mash potato and Mac & cheese sides. All washed down with a bottle of lovely Malbec. Sublime! 10/10 for everything guys, we absolutely loved it 👍🏼

El plato principal de la hamburguesa, mientras que todavía estaba sabroso era muy rosa por dentro y de nuevo tibia. Had the Feast menu for a dinner with 12 of us at Chop House Market Street. Lovely starters, mix of Porterhouse and Tomahawk steaks - delicious. Great atmosphere, amazing service and Cara, Jack and Emily were all brilliant. Group dinners can often disappoint but the food and staff at chop house did a fantastic job. Well done.

We ordered the Chateaubriand between two of us. The steak was lovely. It was accompanied with roast potatoes and Yorkshire pudding along with mixed veg. Also a very small jug of gravy to share. This was not nearly enough to coat the meat and accompaniments so we asked for another jug. To our surprise we were charged an extra £5 for the extra few spoonsful of gravy, on top of the £85 for the meal. Really? This left a 'bad taste' after an otherwise enjoyable meal so be warned!

The taste and quality of the food was great, the service was sorely lacking. From waiting at the bar for 15 minutes to be acknowledged, to having the waiter go home and before then not stop in to check and then have the bartender follow up as an afterthought if we needed anything and then another person to get our check. I waited until my food was cold to get salt for what would have been a great meal.

Realmente disfrutamos de ir a un restaurante de carnes, pero estábamos decepcionados con la comida en general aquí! Los entrantes eran lo mejor - la ensalada de mozzarella y tomate, y las gambas tempura - ambos muy agradable! Los cócteles también eran buenos! First time visiting the chop house tonight. Was really looking forward to it. Wasn't disappointed. Food was lush. We had the porterhouse steak which was perfection! I think the wine list could use a little/lot of love but the bottle we chose was decent enough. It was the spanish temp/shiraz/cab. But £52 for Angus the bull cab sauv? Come on now behave 🙄 If I had one complaint it would be that when the guy seated us, he said "you have an hour and a half". Which i completely understood, busy popular restaurant, busy weekend etc. But it just put a slight dampener on the evening and we felt a bit rushed. So didn't go for starters, and realised we didn't have time for deserts either. Meal was 10 out of 10, lovely girl served us during, but given the time limits In which you have to eat, I don't think we would return.

Really underwhelming, steaks were ok. Bernaise sauce was served chilled, i would have preffered warmed. Pretty poor if you are celiac, no starters or desserts available to you. Also if celiac they also cook the onion rings etc in the same fryer as the chips so you can't have those either. There fore the side option you can have is mash and gravy... the mash tasted really processed and possibly heated up in a microwave. Similarly the gravey was pretty tasteless. The garlic mushrooms were delicious. I will say the service was good and the cocktails lovely. But i wouldn't come back, not worth the money.

My partner and I ate here this afternoon. The restaurant is pretty & in a good location, but the food is very average, for the price, I would expect much more. I ordered the beef and wasn’t asked how I’d like it cooked, so assumed it would come medium/medium rare. It was very, very rare, the cauliflower cheese was watery & both our Yorkshire puddings were very burnt at the bottom so didn’t taste good. Granted, I could have asked for the meat to be cooked more, but I didn’t want the rest of my food to go cold, and I would have expected, for the price, to be asked how I’d like the meat cooked. The veg was also very crunchy & there was very little gravy. We both had the brownie for dessert, but it is advertised as coming with toasted marshmallow, which there was none of. Overall, a below-average roast for a high price point.

Came here for food after reading loads of 5 star reviews but was left bitterly disappointed. We both ordered fillet steak- one medium-rare and one medium-well. We had a very long wait for food (and drinks). When our steaks came, they were both significantly overcooked. The medium-rare was medium-well and the medium-well was past well-done. The picture below shows the "medium-rare". This was mentioned to the waitress who completely ignored it and then forgot to bring our 2nd drinks.

Frankly, horrendous experience. We were there for 3 hours and got served one course. Now for the wait, we were to be fair given a free cocktail each. However, the ordeal began when acquiring the bill. The drinks are very expensive in this place (large Sauvignon is £17.30 for context) so my friend and I had looked at sharing a bottle of Prosecco. As the bottle was £52 (we thought quite expensive) we opted for the cheaper option of Brut (£45 per bottle). The waitress, in no way her fault, was not a native English speaker so I pointed to the bottle of Brut I requested (relevant to the ordeal). Upon receiving the bill 2.5 hours later, we were shocked to discover we had been charged for the more expensive £130 bottle of brut. The waitress/manager implied it was our fault for not knowing the brand name that arrived on the table. In what world if you point at what you want then you must further brand identify your order? We were significantly overcharged and had a rather foul taste in our mouths leaving. Absolutely awful experience overall.

Had a booking at 7.45 was taken to our table around 7.50.enjoyed a shared starter and a main meal. We then ordered some dessert drinks. When they arrived at approximately 9.10 the waitress informed us we had 5 mins at the table then we would have so go downstairs to the bar, she brought the bill. She noted our disapproval and returned a few minutes later to say she could allow us another 10 mins! I really hadn't expected to have to vacate the table within 90 mins of sitting down. Spoilt the experience.

We came for a meal as a couple and found the food was falsely advertised and not worth the money. We ordered the buffalo mozzarella for starter which was £10.50 and came with a small size of mozzarella which tasted like nothing and a few tomatoes. My partner ordered the 'steak burger' which was not steak. He tasted my rump steak compared to his burger and it was quite obvious that the burger was not up to standard. We both ordered mac and cheese as a side which tasted like microwave mac and cheese from a tin. The straw fries were also cold and flavourless, would not recommend

we were a group of 4 two went for chicken and said it was nice and two of us went for steak my Ribeye £34.00 was shocking a very cheap piece of meat i could barley cut when i mentioned this to the Polish male Manager( possibly owner) he asked if i were using the knife the correct way.... the other steak a fillet was supposed to be well done but had blood oozing out of it disgusted with the service and the quality of the food we paid the £196 bill and left feeling absolutely Robbed. “Unacceptable Service and Disregard for Neurodivergent Needs – A Thoroughly Disappointing Experience” When making a reservation, I informed the restaurant that both parties attending were autistic and had ADHD. I specifically requested a table that would allow us to enjoy our meal without sensory overload. On arrival, I was pleased to see that they had offered a spacious table that accommodated our sensory needs. Unfortunately, that’s where the positive experience ended. Issues Encountered: 1. Drinks Service: When I asked if they offered bottled beer, I was instead given a pint. Later, I found out they could have offered a schooner—something more manageable that would have suited our needs better. This lack of communication was disappointing. 2. Starter Misrepresentation: The menu lacked clarity. We ordered “mozzarella sticks,” only to be served chopped tomatoes with mozzarella on top—completely different from what we expected. 3. Excessive Wait Times: We waited over 40 minutes for our main courses without any updates from the staff. Given that I had made the restaurant aware of our neurodivergent needs in advance, this situation was particularly upsetting. Raising the issue of wait times with the staff would have been extremely uncomfortable for us. Our neurodivergence means that initiating conflict or even mild confrontation can be highly stressful and overwhelming. The fact that the staff did not proactively communicate the delay, despite being made aware of our circumstances, showed a lack of consideration and made us feel forgotten and unsupported during the meal. 4. Quality of Food: The main dishes were a letdown. As a steakhouse, I expected better. Both “medium rare” steaks were overcooked and far from enjoyable. For the price, this was unacceptable. 5. Hygiene: The toilets were in a deplorable state. One had vomit in it, and the other was smeared with feces. This was not just unpleasant—it was outright unhygienic. Overall Experience: I left feeling overwhelmed, burnt out, and upset. The poor service, misrepresented food, long wait times, and unhygienic facilities made the £124 bill feel like an insult. For two overcooked steaks, disappointing starters, and an unpleasant overall experience, this was an absolute waste. I would not recommend Chop House Steakhouse to anyone, especially those with specific needs. They may talk the talk, but they failed to deliver in every other respect.

Chop House is a steak house with a pleasant atmosphere. Friendly and professional staff, but above all the meat we ate was of a high standard. I had a ribeye which I recommend rare. Prices are high as in all of Edinburgh, but it's worth it to get away from the fried food in the pubs for a bit. (Meat + side dish + wine approximately 50 pounds).

The service took a while before even asking about starters, when they arrived with food, they arrived at different times for the group of people we were with, so some starters began to go colder than I would like. For the mains, for the price you pay for a rib eye you only get the steak on the plate with nothing other than a tiny serving of "bone marrow gravy" which just tasted like saltier bistro gravy granules. The steak was supposed to be medium rare, but instead was rare. However, it tasted like burnt charcoal, no meat flavour and zero juice coming from the steak while being rare???? I don't think the steak was even basted in butter or anything. The chips as a side were the most artificial tasting chips I've had in a while at the price it's almost 1 quid per chip!?! Everything lacked salt or just any flavour whatsoever. For the price I believe it is a joke that the food was that appalling! Finally they added the service charge for the bill which considering how little the staff were present or took ages to clear the table, I almost regret paying it. In terms of the atmosphere, the music was slightly quieter than a pub but louder than a typical restaurant has music which doesn't set a great atmosphere. The lighting was good to give the credit where due. I wish I could give a lower review especially for the bloody price

The food was good but the experience was nowhere near what you would expect for a restaurant in this price bracket. I sent the below as private feedback and was offered "a complimentary round of drinks & 10% off your bill, if you visit again". I let them know that I didn't think this really amounted to a fair adjustment for the experience they provided but haven't heard back. I had a booking for a table of 5 last night. I have eaten at Market Street a couple of times over the years and fairly regularly in Bruntsfield when it was open. Last night was my son's 20th birthday celebration, he likes a steak, and we wanted a special meal. The service was not at all what I have experienced from you before or what you would expect from a meal in this price bracket. We didn't hold back - had cocktails, wine, starters and your most expensive sharing steak. It was one of those restaurant experiences where you have to flag down a server who is determinedly looking down or the other way. No doubt they were understaffed, but it was quite deflating to bring the family for an extravagent celebration meal and have to work hard to get a drinks order in so long after being seated. We ordered food when the drinks arrived to avoid losing the server again. I asked for descriptions of the sharing cuts and was surprised when she didn't know. A colleague came and explained - perhaps I am mis-remembering but I seem to recall the team being pretty clear on the core product. I thought the lack of training was odd - 5 minutes would have been sufficient to learn the differences. We arrived maybe 7.05 and it was 8.20 before we got starters by which point some of the party were very hungry, and just before 9pm when we got mains. We followed the recommendation to have the Tommahawk 'medium' but what came was quite a bit rarer than that - I have a picture if you would like it. The food was great and we enjoyed the meal. The steaks were excellent and the oyster dressing superb. We had apologies from three different team members about waits - so they were clearly aware. When the bill came they had deducted an amount for the slow service, but I think around £8, which is honestly insulting. I paid the full amount rather than getting into a conversation then which wasn't in the spirit of a nice evening.

Mixed feelings about this place. It has a lot of potential, lovely setting, playing nice music and good design inside. Unfortunately the food is not the best. Very expensive choice of food. Meat arrives with the tiniest side of chips, no salad or veg with it. Other dishes include brugers which tasted similar to mcdonalds burgers and didn’t feel very special for £18. I wouldn’t recommend this place for fbe food. There’s better steak places in Edinburgh that give you more for your money! Staff were nice and accommodating although when we turned up at 1:45pm no one was there to welcome us, other clients were calling to get someone’s attention and we almost walked off.

A great place close to Waverley Station. We had fab cocktails, I recommend the Bloody Mary- spiced and delicious. I had mussels and the other half enjoyed a perfectly cooked rib eye steak with a decent Merlot. Service was excellent and friendly. Top notch and good value for Edinburgh. 10/10

Last visited a few years ago with our kids and was excellent. Just left this time disappointed. 2 fillet steaks were pretty chewy and for 40 quid each they should be nowhere near that. Maybe down to the cooking rather than the quality of the meat. Cardinal sin though was one of the kids meals which the chicken was undercooked. Luckily my wife noticed as I didn't. They replaced it but surprising lack of service recovery e.g. round of drinks etc. OK, kids ate free but that was their promotion not ours. Service was pretty slow also. 1.45 mins and that was with us constantly asking for dessert, bill etc. Shame as was good the previous time.

Went here expecting the aged beef would be good beef. We ordered the tomahawk which was not cheap. It was chewy and flavor was bland. The girl who was one of our servers was not friendly at all. For the price of the meal the service was overall pretty bad.

We had a great time at Chop House last night. We went as a family around 5 pm and our kids loved the food so much they couldn’t stop talking about it. The atmosphere was relaxed and friendly, which is great when you have 3 noisy kids aged 5-10. We were brought crayons and activity sheets for them and they got stuck straight in. We will definitely be back for another family dinner. Thank you Chop House.

If you want chewy, overpriced steaks - that’s the place. We had a party of over 10 people, so we pre-ordered all our food. Starters came out rather quickly, and yet one person who specifically mentioned several times that he’d like all his starters at once, to be served with the mains of others - got his starter one, and then other with the mains… But the mains, the mains came two hours since coming there. And that was only when I asked how long could we possibly wait, and long behold, just like by magic our mains got served. Just that the burger was dry, steaks chewy, and lobster felt like it came out of a microwave. Oh, and nduja potatoes seemed like pesto to me, unless now they’re making green nduja. You’d think a place that literally specialises in steaks would at least get them right. And all that at a premium price…

We were craving for some good meat after the hike at Arthur’s Seat. Ordered sourdough steak, and fillet steak and a Mac cheese for the LO. The food was good overall. Good meat and the seasoning was good. However I felt the sourdough steak might be a little bit over cooked so the edge of the meat was a bit dry. The fries were the most amazing discovery as I ve never seen such fine cut of fried!

The staff are very lovely but unfortunately the restaurant is not wheelchair accessible. The seating downstairs is high and in suspended booths. The only way to eat here would be on outside tables.

I was disappointed to give this restaurant 2 stars, as it relates to my dislike of certain aspects. The decor and atmosphere were excellent, and the cocktails were really good. However, the steak was a letdown for me. While my partner and friend enjoyed their porterhouse steak, my rump steak was overcooked. The waiter acknowledged the mistake as I had asked for medium/rare and took it back to the kitchen, but it still came out medium. This was disappointing, as a good steak is the main reason for visiting a steak restaurant. The waiters were good, but they didnt apologise for the error which I felt was the least they could have done, especially when I had to wait a further 20 minutes and couldnt eat with my friends. Overall, this experience put a damper on the evening, and I would not return or recommend this restaurant based on my personal experience. However, your experience may differ.

I received a gift voucher for the Chop house in Edinburghs Market Street from my boys. The staff were very helpful and friendly..However! The meal just wasn’t up to standard for the price paid. The steak was chewy and couldn’t cut it even with a steak knife The peppercorn sauce was tasteless and watery. . We told the waitress who offered us a complimentary dessert each which we took.During the night at home myself and my partner both had horrendous vomiting.which could only of been from the meal. A terrible experience. Shall never return

For what we paid comparing to other steak places the quality didn't do it for me. I'd even say it felt like no effort was put into presentation of the food too. It would be great to get just a little bit of salad instead of just a singular piece of steak on a big plate, especially with the price we paid. Also the chips had almost no taste to them with it being such a small portion you would hope otherwise

Food was excellent—service was some of the worst I’ve experienced. It took over an hour for our food to come after we had ordered with no explanation or apology. Once we were served we were asked how everything was. I said the food was great but it took way too long. We had already finished the bottle of wine we had ordered so I asked to be compensated a second bottle for the wait. The waitress seemed agreeable to that but said she would have to ask her manager. After a while the manager came by and asked how things were, so I repeated my claim. She said the food took so long because some in our party had ordered their steaks medium-well and that it takes 45 minutes to cook a steak to that temperature! I was astonished. Not only was there no apology the inference is that it was our fault for ordering a steak medium well! I said they should put that on their menu—that’s assuming it is true—or at least tell people when they order. The manager shrugged and walked off and we had no service for the rest of the meal. Terrible customer service.

Walked in off the street to see plenty of available tables but we were refused service as we were informed by front of house that they were busy upstairs and kitchen staff were “under pressure”. Further to this there was online availability for the current time on the online booking system as well as two other slots within 15 minute intervals. Cannot understand why a restaurant would turn down business, very strange.

Would go as far as to say it was one of the tastiest steaks I’ve ever had. Didn’t have the vegetarian main option left and my partner wasn’t made aware of this - instead they sent a fish main, my partner is vegetarian. However she ended up getting an array of starters and sides which were delicious and they did discount the bill because of this. Overall, lovely restaurant, really knowledgeable about steak in general, would recommend to any meat lover

Had an excellent meal here after wanting to come for a long time. Steak was perfectly cooked and delicious. Great range of sides, in particular the fried nduja potatoes and wild garlic mushrooms. Starters are really good too and on par with the mains. The chicken wings are unreal and probably the best I’ve had in a restaurant - saucy and full of flavour, while still also being perfectly crispy. Service was excellent - the waitress was really helpful with the menu, and took a lot of time and effort to make sure we enjoyed our meal. Staff all very attentive and relaxed. Can’t wait to visit again!

I booked this for my daughter’s birthday, despite seeing the reviews on here. When I called, I was assured they had enough staff and service would be good. I was also told my daughter would receive a comp desert. Slow service and average food. Had to wait 5 mins to be seated, despite place being fairly quiet. Dishes not described properly and lack of knowledge from server. They forgot about my daughter’s birthday until I reminded them. When the bill came, her desert was on it. They offered to remove it, but by then I just wanted out. Will not return.

Really disappointing. We had a table booked for 5pm. Walked in and only one other table in. We didn’t get menus, I had to go up and ask whilst the one server was making cocktails . She then took our order but no wine list, no drinks list, no offer of water although water glasses on table. We ordered but after ordering were told that what we ordered (steak burgers) were out of stock as last one was just sold (at 5pm on a Saturday). We then got our food which was nice but no offer of water or more wine. It then got to 6.20, we had told them our train was 6.40 and my daughter still hadn’t been offered her pudding from the 3 course deal she had. We ended up having to chase a waiter to get askef for pudding which we then had to takeaway to make the train!

We had such a great Hogmanay meal here. The Service was great, very friendly and quick service. One of the waiter's saved the life of a man at the table next to us which was pretty impressive! The food was delicious and so was wine and cocktails. One thing that made our night slightly difficult was having to listen to the obnoxious, loud and entitled family next to us, yes the family whose father nearly choked to death on his food! Ofcourse not the resturants fault, but as I had heard the spoilt son say he would be emailing a complaint to the management, I would like management to know how good the service actually was if you're not listening to a family of narcissists. Unbelievably the table is where one of the men nearly died whilst his family sat around laughed and barely patted him on the back whilst he choked. A waiter then managed to save him. The family barely looked up to thank the man not even the man whose life was saved, it was shocking to witness. Shortly after the family started to complain about the service and how they couldn't get dessert (we could hear them talk about how they had booked last minute and the restaurant was shutting)!! The entitlement was shocking and I feel so enraged for the poor servers who have to deal with awful people like this. Its really confusing to think about the psychology behind someone making a complaint to the man who just saved your father's life. I'd like to hope the family goes away and reflects on their behaviour (as my partner and I made it clear how disgusted we were), however sadly I don't think they are capable of seeing their wrong doing. Management please know your waiters did great that night especially the Spanish (I believe) man, who should get lots of praise for fast acting on Hogmanay, as he won't get any from the family of the man he saved.

After a lovely meal at the Leith restaurant earlier in the year I decided to book market street for our Christmas trip to Edinburgh. We were deeply disappointed. When we arrived we were told our table wasn't ready, however after a very short wait we were shown to our table. The first thing my wife was met with was pieces of macaroni cheese on her seat. We usually order a bottle of Rosé with our meal, and there is only one Rosé on the menu, so I ordered it. It was luke warm - I would rather have no wine than warm wine. We asked to get it changed, but as none of the Rosé was in the fridge we had to settle for white wine. Whilst the food was good, there were no serving spoons offered with our sides. Our waiters hands looked dirty, which leads me on to general cleanliness - the dining area flooring is was dirty and the toilets were nothing short of disgusting - unacceptable for a pub, never mind an upmarket restaurant. I emailed the restaurant my thoughts but a week and a half later I'm yet to receive a response.

Went for dinner here with my son. The food was excellent but the whole experience was ruined by the waitress. To say she was rude is an understatement. She was absolutely fowl so much so it actually made you nervous and not want to be there. I have been to leith and also bruntsfield and would have no hesitation in going back but I will never return to market street. We did complain to the manager but to be honest I don’t think he cared either. The worst £200 meal experience I have ever had.

Enjoyed an evening at the Chop House. Service was good, took a short while to get drinks but speedy service after ordering. Nice setting but food was only ‘good’. Ordered two porterhouse steaks, medium rare, both slightly different cook times, so one was a lot more rare than the other. Steaks no doubtably were really great. Mash and gravy disappointing, very small portion and gravy lacked seasoning and flavour. Béarnaise sauce was very bizarre, resembled a white sauce than anything. No tarragon or the typical vinegar and shallot flavours. Overall a good place for steaks and nice ambiance, but the cost didn’t reflect what was received.

We chose this restaurant due to their reviews and photos on Instagram, it looked like an extremely popular restaurant. We had a steak and a roast dinner which the beef on both of them was really good, but unfortunately we felt the visit was a bit tarnished for a few reasons. Our biggest issue was that they had no changing facilities despite having baby seats and a children’s menu. Not sure if this was just a temporary issue but meant we had to walk down the road to Costa to use their changing facilities. We knew that the price was going to be a little more due to the nature of the restaurant, however we still felt a bit stung at the end. I asked for extra gravy for my roast as it was looking a little dry (turns out the gravy is only on the beef not the rest of the dinner), they brought out the tiniest little pot which barely covered the dinner and then was charged £3 on the bill. We also ordered our young daughter a meal, which when the bill came saw was £12. We checked the menu just to make sure the price was correct and noticed it that it was £12 but for a drink meal and dessert. Whilst we were asked if she wanted a drink at the start, we declined as she had her own water, it wasn’t mentioned that a drink was included with her meal. At no point was a child’s dessert offered to us after our mains. The staff however did take the main off the bill when we queried the price which was very generous. Overall, the food was really good, and staff were nice but ultimately didn’t feel it was a very family friendly restaurant, especially for those with young children, despite having a children’s menu and high chairs.

Just came in today, had planned to come here as food looked nice. We came in and weren’t greeted, we stood there waiting for one of the staff who clearly saw us for about 3 mins and then one of them said hi from across the room, we said hi back (thought we would be asked the usual), then nothing…?? they just stared at us and we left. That was that.
