Our favourite little Chicken shop in the sunny settings of the Courtyard. Food, service and atmosphere was all brilliant, we can't wait to go back to try the rest of the menu. Thank you

Edit- ive put at the top food 0 stars as didnt order, what put me off ordering was the disgusting tables outside with cigarette buts, bits of old skanky chips, mayonaise runned in to the wood etc etc. Dirty. 2ndly. Cashless, so 1 star for service. 3rdly no service = 1 star. Calling me "slanderous" and saying I'm a competitor is ridiculous, and conjecture. You're clutching at straws, mush. Couldn't find a menu, the 2 kitchen. staff weren't wearing aprons. Original review- Again, dirty shared tables, no one to greet you or serve you and cashless. Can't comment on the food but the burgers looked interesting.. shame really" Is a fair review. 👌

Really enjoyed having lunch here today. The food is amazing. Though not the cheapest it’s worth it, you get what you pay for. Having visited The Bok Shop when they had a branch in Eastbourne we were sad to see it go. As soon as we stepped in, it was like discovering it all over again.

The best chicken burger I've ever had. Really good service and enjoyed an excellent beer in the sun. Highly recommended it. If you get a combo, you get a drink with it, we didn't realise. All in all, loved it 😁

Very disappointed with the classic vegan chicken burger today. And it’s not cheap either! Have been here in the past and always had a delicious meal, but today think the chef was either busy or new, but no excuse. The vegan burger was very pale, bland, and tasted awful !

I ordered a takeaway from here on Saturday night. Chicken wings and fried! The chicken was lukewarm and the fries actually cold! Very disappointed in both the restaurant and deliveroo who ended refunded for my complaint 1.23 for an 18 pound meal!

It ain’t fine dinning but they do good chicken burgers and good fries. My kids love it and as a local it’s one of the places we go to, with the kids. Nice environment, clean, tidy. Some of the sides are a bit odd like the battered pickles. But I just don’t order them! Summary great place go and eat, especially with kids.

In a town where you can find a burger joint or kebab shop almost everywhere you look, it's great to find a spot that focuses on just making the best chicken you can imagine. A variety of different flavour dishes, all with a vibrancy of colour to match the decor and atmosphere pumping out of the place, and staff who look like they actually love what they do, its absolutely fantastic. My personal recommendation, Dr. Drizzle Tenders, they are incredible, or the Super Saiyon Burger or wrap. Such great taste. If you find yourself in Hastings, you should make your way to the Bok Shop.

Food was brilliant, as we're the staff. Couldn't quite read the menu, so the lady on front house (I think she said her name was Becky) helped me out and told me the best sellers. Chose the Hot as Cluck- very good!! Will be returning.

Ordered online. Decent service, but the food was below-average. The fried part of the chicken was chewy in places, the meat was not of great quality. The fries were fine, nothing to write home about. Ordered 2 fries but only received 1. Definitely overpriced and not worth the money in my opinion.

Fairly quiet day couldnt scan for food .think over priced . A 11 yr old given adult portion as child only up to 10 .

Nice Burger options and well functioning terminal to order your food. The location is interesting. You c an even eat food from the other restaurants and it won't bother.

We came from London for a short trip to Dover while returning ,took a trip to Hasting and we decided to explore the food and that's how we found The BOk Shop. The food was delicious 🤤 . I will always recommend this place and in fact visit again. Thank you to the chef and the team :)

Located in Source Park Courtyard, former site of Victorian Baths in Hastings seafront promenade, the Bok Shop is a trendy restaurant specialising in fried chicken and vegan meals. The place is unique as it is underground with seafront views! Food is delicious but expensive. The restaurant is clean and cosy, good for family and friends dining and there is outdoor dining options too. There are pay carparks nearby. Overall, worthwhile to visit.

One of the best vegan burgers I’ve eaten. Only comments would be that there was a bit too much seasoning on the fries, and that the chicken (non vegan) wasn’t very crispy so along with the sauce, made it a bit soggy. Music was a bit loud. Also, £2 for a can of coke, with a warm glass and no ice feels a bit lazy. Otherwise great service and food, like the style and the addition of the arcade machines.

unfortunately got very bad food poisoning after having the super Saiyan Burger ): couldn't have been anything else as all i had eaten otherwise had been chips.. reckoned that the chicken was undercooked after. please make sure your burgers are cooked all the way through!! added stars for the investigative work carried out by the bok shops team.

This is some of the best fried chicken I've ever had. Definitely not your bog standard KFC rubbish, big portions and very creative sauces set in a very cool, clean restaurant with a great outside area which has a great vide. This is Definitely as must if your visiting hastings.

Always enjoyed the wraps, unfortunately twice now they have run out of wraps. Another time they ran out of salad!! Come on guys there’s no excuse, we are talking lunchtime.

A visit is definitely worth it. The atmosphere is very cool and crazy. The food is very very good, one of the best chicken burgers I've ever eaten.

Great food, been a fan since discovering the now shut site in Eastbourne. Very pricey for what it is though

Lovely food perfectly cooked and presented. A real comfort food establishment. The wings were sticky and tasty, not large so those with a hunger need to add some additions. Drink extortionate mind you, a can of diet coke £1.99. If they allow I would advise to take your own.. Not cheap but very nice food.

Wow . What a cool find on the sea front of Hastings. Situated in the Court Yard. A small collection of restaurants underground. You can take a lift or a small flight of stairs. The Bok shop is a restaurant focused on Asian inspired chicken. Very clean with black and white tiles . Funky pictures adorn the walls based on hip hop stars and R’n’B stars . Think Tupac and The Weekend. 😁The music also reflects this . You have bikes on the ceiling. You get it . Now for the food . You have to order from a large touchscreen. Easy enough. There are hard copy menus to choose from before ordering. The waitress was friendly and helpful. We ordered our meals and they came quite quickly and it was all fresh and hot . I ordered the award winning Buffalo wings with seasoned fries . Of course . 😁 They looked amazing and tasted even better . Hot , sweet , crunchy and moorish. Bangin’ I also tried the Bokadooshi wings. Equally as good. I can’t wait to go back and why is this not a chain ?😂There is one more branch that in Brighton so what are you waiting for ?

Great place for some fried chicken & burgers with a varied menu. The staff are friendly & helpfull & the place is kept clean. The food is really well prepared and delicious 👍👌. Good place to stop for a short snack, drinks & more near Hastings Pier. Totally recommend eating here 👍👌😁

Overpriced and nothing special Service laid back and friendly. Partner enjoyed her chicken wrap and fries. I'm a big wing fan and these were quite tasty but a miserly portion (5 half wings for £10 is feeble), and they arrived more or less cold. Won't bother again, would rather trek to Brighton for Lost Boys Chicken Wings at the Joker, those guys know how to do wings. 3/5 (extra point because I was able to get a beer from the Brewing Brothers on the premises.)

Had a delivery on just eat, fancied soemthing new. Stumbled across this place… WOW food was brilliant can tell they take pride in their food. Packaging excellent, fresh, homemade. Great deal for 2. Fast delivery. This is our new takeaway place !

Went on a recommendation. Had the chicken wrap. What a mistake! Lacking any flavour apart from the taste of mayo! No herbs, no spices and so bland! Tried to rub the overly salted fries into the wrap to try and help the situation. That didn’t help. Very overpriced for the quality. Think they rely on overly sweetened sauces and dips to mask the under seasoned chicken. Left feeling underwhelmed. Public toilets next door (not part of the same building) filthy with no paper and broken toilet seats. What a place…………

Ordered through Uber £30 1 burger 2 milkshakes, it arrives 1 burger, went back to delivery driver where’s my milkshakes £15 for 2! Shows me nothing else on his motorbike, ring the shop bloke not helpful in slightest!!! Of course I am complaining, I want what I have ordered sent out but nope!! Looks like they just take all the money they can and ‘conveniently’ forget to send loads! I’ve heard this from quite a few people things are always forgotten, AVOID!

Chicken is the most unique and tasty I’ve ever experienced. Presentation is always colorful and delectable. They know what they’re doing. 🤌🏻 Simply, exquisite. Atmosphere is fun & hip. Clean & crisp, outdoor & indoor seating. Prefer the outdoor myself. Location is easy to look over and not see, so watch out. 👀 Prices are a bit up there, but the chicken… 🤤 THE CHICKEN!!!!!

Wow what can I say 18 quid for a chicken burger.they do realise this is hastings and not a city right? Crazy that people think this is good value.at the end of the day it’s only chicken.the cheapest out of them all.won’t be going back.standard food massively overpriced.prices of 2 burgers you could quite easily get a Chinese or a ruby Murray that would feed 4 of you.£8.50 for loaded fries? Taking the absolute biscuit. These businesses wonder why they only last a few years.certainly not priced for the locals who will keep this company lace your g throughout the winter.

Fries undercooked + tasted like oil. Coleslaw dark, limp + tasted off. Burger was swimming + dripping in a brown oil, bun completely soaked, smelt funny so didn't eat. Wings overcooked + smelt fishy. I cant believe the whole meal was completely inedible. I ordered out because I'm unwell, its money and time wasted. I waited 2 hours for delivery. It's all in the bin :( I was dumb enough to throw away before I took pictures for potential refund via JustEat. I did phone 1hr30min after ordering to get update, fair it's not their fault waiting for JustEats delivery drivers and offered to recook meal but dont think.they would have done if I didnt phone yet it was honestly was so awful. I ordered at 3.40pm on a sunday.

Visit: takeaway via online order and sitting on beach. Restaurant in the courtyard was far too noisy - even for someone like me that likes good music played whilst I eat. Not the restaurant's fault, but the courtyard had a DJ playing with the volume far too loud for the system. Meant you couldn't hear yourself think let alone chat with people. So we opted for takeaway. This may have been a mistake though, because the food was soggy, and uninspiring. Chips were flacid, no seasoning. Burger had too much 'other stuff' going on - slaw, sauce...made the whole thing a sloppy mess, and actually didn't taste that great either. My teenage daughters both loved their tender strips though, but admitted the chips were bad. Isn't cheap, and for my money I think there are much better standard fried chicken/kebab shops that serve better fare at a fraction of the price. If you're into the location and the trendy environs then you'll no doubt like this place. But for this middle-aged man just wanting to chow down on some decent food after a day on the beach/in the sea, I found this place to be more style over substance and won't be revisiting.

Had the vegan tenders, tasteless fried balls of goop. Said we were eating there but food came in take away packaging & had to go back & ask for the dip we'd asked for. Fries were massively over seasoned & soggy. Food was also fairly expensive especially considering the poor quality

I'm fat. I eat a lot of food. I'm a greedy bastard. I ordered the hot as cluck. This is the single best chicken burger to ever pass my lips in almost 40 years. Cannot recommend highly enough.

I would give zero stars if there was an option! We used this place twice before and were so amazed! I can not deny the great flavours although its very expensive I would have said it was worth it until my 3rd delivery came like this! Me & my wife both ate it and then realized and threw the rest away. I have spent weeks trying to get them to accept their mistake but they deny it and think THIS is what cooked meat looks like! Not the first its happened to and not the last but they will be reported by myself to try to avoid it continuing!

I’ve tried this place twice and been disappointed both times. The food looks like it should taste nice, but none of it works. The chicken burgers are massively over flavoured - there’s no subtlety at all. The burgers and fries are drenched in sauces with overpowering flavours that are almost sickly. It’s not a patch on KFC and it’s far too expensive - a burger, fries and drink cost £20! It wouldn’t be so bad if the food tasted as good as it looked. Plus the food arrived cold and the drinks arrived warm - and they didn’t have any ice!

Incredible chicken, cooked to perfection. The buffalo sauce is to die for. Staff were friendly, and very accommodating. Would definitely recommend!

Truly the greatest meat free chicken I have ever eaten and Charlie who was our server was welcoming, kind and very hospitable and truly an asset to the team. Will always continue to eat here when in town.

Food only 4 stars as I wanted a wrap and it wasn't available.

So good we came twice. Been to the Brighton one a few times but as we were near this one we thought to give it ago. Still the best friend chicken on the planet by far. Tenders nice and crispy on the outside but moist on the inside. Katsu fries never disappoints along with the dips. 2nd night very slow service but food excellent again. Just need that milkshake machine working but at least they had Street Fighter 2 available to play while waiting. Please open more stores and get the chicken connoisseur to try the food as I’m sure he would love it and give it 10/10

Delicious chicken tenders in a variety of sauces. The og chicken not so great. But the spicy Korean and Japanese bits were great. Great music and a nice sun trap away from the sea breeze!

Bok Shop is expensive but normally worth it as it is so delicious. Last night though I ordered a takeaway, burger and chips, and the chicken burger had been subbed for a chicken tender. It was very small most of my burger was just lettuce and Celery. Super disappointing as its an expensive burger as is, have lost my faith:(

Came here after finding out that Eastbourne's branch had closed. THIS IS THE BOK SHOP TO GO TO. Not only does it have an incredible vibe, (the playlist alone is worth the visit) but the food is just the best. Their Vegan options are some of the absolute best I've had out in years. Staff were amazing as well and very responsive. We were served by Martin, who not only made us feel welcome but was incredibly helpful with recommendations and positive. I loved it here so much I not only tipped but I spent £40 on the merchandise. Their Hoodie is amazing. If you're a vegan you should go here if you liked fried chicken. I cannot recommend Goku tenders or the Super Saiyan wrap enough! Also it was really well priced. My partner and I will be making the hour trip here again. With no issue. Its that good.

Came in again the other night, always good food at Bok Shop! We had the hot as cluck burger which was insane & was promptly served by David who was friendly and made helpful menu recommendations.

Went by again last night, one of the only places we can get a table after 9pm on a Saturday. Really glad we did! Food was so good, portion size was great. We were served by David From start to finish who was really friendly and helped us with our order. Definitely going to go back more often

Will start by saying I’m a big fan of bok, have ordered about 10 times over the last year or so. (Goku tenders are my favourite!) I ordered the classic burger which was buy one get one free on uber eats and it just wasn’t up too scratch with what I usually expect from bok… Burger was noticeably smaller than the last one I got a couple months back. It was chicken breast not thigh… Which, I guess I wouldn’t have an issue with, but they state that their burgers are thighs (which imo taste better) It was very sloppily put together (world cup quarter final & BOGOF so i’m sure they were really busy) It was fine but just disappointing and not as good as they usually are… Also I see that their food hygiene rating is a 2 on uber eats. Which…. not good. Sorry guys, Im a big champion of bok but things could have better.

Ordered my usual vegan tenders with seasoned fries as a delivery and received a 50% smaller meal at the same price.£11 Rang to politely question why my meal was so noticibly smaller and was informed that a soft launch on trialing a new menu was launched on Monday. BEWARE & what a shame

The best friend chicken I've had in a long time, served in the soggiest, most bland buns. The employee who rates the scoville heat of the meals needs sacking: nothing was spicy. Expensive too, for the portions. Not so bad that I'll not try them again but bad enough that I'll leave it a while.

Went for early dinner, so pretty quiet but had a great time, nephews enjoyed the decor of skate boards and bikes, there was a comment that the chicken was spicy but with some mayonnaise he went onto eat the lot! Good portion size for both adult and childrens.

As a vegan it feels slightly odd to leave a 5 star review for a fried chicken joint, but I just can’t not give this place the maximum score. This is THE best vegan ‘chicken’ out there, you will not find better. It was cooked perfectly, I could tell the sauce was home made and just the knowledge of flavour one needs to make food this tasty is so so apparent here. Cannot recommend enough. Much love, one happy vegan 🌱

First visit and an amazing meal. Now know not to order to many sides as the meals are big but delicious. Staff were really friendly and welcoming and fantastic service.

Ordering and food collection was a little confusing but the quality of the food was excellent.

I ordered Dr drizzle tenders and Goku wings via takeaway. When they arrived they smelt like feet, usually I love this place. They were also very soggy. The fries were great but a little stale. I wouldn't recommend a takeaway from here, but eating in is brilliant.

Absolutely best ever chicken tenders. Went for the Korean style BOKADOOSH. They will pop your socks off. Keep up the amazing work. A must stop if you're anywhere near one of their places.

Staff is very friendly! Buffalo chicken wings are very juicy! It is also a good chose to take away and eat at the beach not far away.

Self service, loved the setting of the restaurant. Ordered adults meals and 2 kids meal- they had no juice and no other alternative apart from water which was disappointing. Menu is a bit limited with options. Food was nice enough but too under seasoned for...

Ate here twice during our week in Hastings, it was so good we had to go back! The people running this place clearly love what they do and it shows in the food. The tenders, fries and fried pickles were all absolutely delicious. Very efficient and easy ordering system too. The whole Courtyard area and the businesses there are such a huge plus for Hastings. We loved hanging out there and can't wait to return soon..

Absolutely love it! Let's not start with the deliciousness of their food but staff...so friendly and accommodating! They made changes to my order just to suit me. They made sure I understood how their order process works and they made sure they understood what I wanted. Music choices were on point (me being a 90s kid, I was definitely loving the tracks played). The decoration in the place was pretty interesting too if I must say so myself (although anything bike and skateboard relate wins my vote). I liked it so much the 1st time I went back the next day for me. If you're looking for somewhere niche and funky to have lunch or dinner The Bok Shop is the one. Now I can talk about the food! The different ways to have a chicken burger! I don't normally have fries but the way they do it. You've got to try it out! - Bok shop, if you remember the person that ordered to take back to London...I'm coming back soon for more. How lucky am I? My favourite place in UK so far - Hastings and my new favorite chicken food place. - The Bok Shop, all in one. Thanks for making it a good experience.

Amazing place the food was great the food we had was Asian inspired ( I had the hot as cluck) everyone enjoyed the food and the self service was a nice change. The location is in the Source Park and that is a good idea....

Pros: flavours are really good. Cons: chicken wings are way too big and they start to taste like a chicken leg not a chicken wing. The sauce should never be served on a chicken wing if it has coating as it soaks and it is not crispy anymore

I am giving 1 star due to the fact that we were unable to taste the "best wings around" as they had zero wings to sell for the entire duration of our holiday! (5 days to be precise). 🤦‍♀️

What a place! Hastings was in need of somewhere like this to eat, the food is amazing, the crispiest chicken around and the vegan ‘chicken’ is uncanny! The staff are incredibly helpful when it comes to recommendations and the speed of service was brilliant. All round the vibes were spot on.

NO WINGS OR MILKSHAKES. WHATS THE POINT. Unhelpful manager toooi
