This converted school house is really lovely dog friendly place near The Stiperstones. The fresh homemade cakes (we had bara brith and scones) were fabulous and tea was served in china cups and saucers! It sells a wide range of walking books as well as nice local craft items (tea towels, candles, jewellery etc). We were served by the very friendly Rita, who pampered our two dogs and chatted to us about hers. An unexpected little gem, especially on a wet and dreary July afternoon! Thank you.

This place functions as the visitors centre for Stiperstones and its lead mining industry. There is a small cafe in the hall operated by local volunteers, which is very pleasant. (Cakes are available) They offer local craft items and tourist materials too

We found a lovely stop for coffee & a cake at the Bog visitor centre. The staff were very friendly, the food and and drink was very affordable, and fresh. There are a number of craft tables with unique and affordable products. We can not recommend a visit highly enough.

Had a great afternoon tea at the visitor centre, you might say I tried the “Stiper scones”! But get out your chairs and visit this amazing place and stretch your legs. Walking is not to difficult and now the “bilberries” are starting it makes it a treat as well. The visitor centre has great facilities with good disabled access, the arts and crafts are great value so Christmas shopping as well Don’t forget the tea and cakes😄

Really enjoyed our first visit to The Bog Centre - excellent range of crafts as well as teas coffees and cakes. Ended up being a costly cuppa as bought a 2019 Calendar as well as local James/Jellies.

You have to pop into this cafe if you are out and about at Stiperstones. We were greeted by the lovely and very informative Gerry Hughes. He can give you top walking tips and local knowledge. It also proves what a small world it is, as he used to live in the house next door to us. The cafe serves lovely quiche and cakes. Various drinks. The drop in centre displays lots of local crafts and history. A great place to visit. Dog friendly too.

I enjoy walking with my dog and the Stiperstones is a great place with wonderful views. On this occasion I'd met a group of friends at Mitchells Fold. I suggested The Bog Cafe for a late lunch. Our group of 8 all enjoyed our food and browsing the crafts. I had a slice of quiche followed by a slice of bara brith and a cuppa. I enjoyed the bara brith so much I had another slice and cuppa. It reminded me of my childhood in North Wales. I look forward to my next visit. As I live just over an hour away it's a destination I choose for a day out combining walking, eating and shopping.

Worth calling in to this visitor centre, run by a group of local people in the former village school. Lovely, home-prepared food and drink. Range of craft stalls, all local artists and crafspeople. Information, books and maps of interest to visitors to the area.

Visited here when starting a walk around the Stiperstones and Devil's Chair. It's a curious little museum and tea room run by volunteers. Set in the old school it is about one of the few buildings left of the old Bog village. The tea and coffee was very welcome - but the CAKES were superb! Very tempted to stay eating cake and avoid the walk!

While visiting Shropshire I went for a lovely hike starting from the visitors centre. The walk takes you along the top of the hill passing the lovely Stiperstones rocks.

We called in mid week and at lunchtime but found the place locked up despite the fact that everything said it was open including the blackboard outside. Like another car-full of visitors we left to find somewhere else

This is an interesting museum set in an old school house that once served an abandoned lead mining village. It's next to the Stiperstones in a remote and captivating location. The museum is small and free to enter. They also serve cakes and tea, maybe a few hot snacks too. Well worth a visit if you are interested in local history or want a tea break whilst out walking.

We called in after a circular walk around the Stiperstones. We were surprised to find what was inside this former school room. A good range of refreshments, cakes etc were available served by a welcoming staff. This is a local enterprise and deserves support. As well as refreshments there is local information plus crafts etc on sale.

This is a lovely, cheerful venue run by caring, friendly folks. There are some interesting crafts and art pieces made by (presumably) local craftspeople and artisans - I was tempted by quite a few things but managed to restrain myself and buy only one item.

Classic mining village lost in the Shropshire Hills. Lovely place to visit if you like history, not much there but worth visiting if passing or in the area.

Went for the first secret diner club evening that is run by Jess who owns the fab 'not today seitan' in liar liar..what can i say?.the food was on another level. Litrally the best vegan food in Oswestry and way surpasses anything else available in a vegan cafe in Oswestry. The food was beautifully presented, the flavours were amazing and the cocktails were beautiful too. Really hope the owner decides to run these evenings on a regular basis although once word gets around i imagine getting a table will be really difficult. Its great to see a vibrant young business do so well and honestly the co trading with Liar liar is such a brilliant idea. Two amazing businesses running side by side. I cannot recommend this highly enough, the best vegan resturant/cafe in town by far

Honestly the best pub meal I've had in years! The steak and Guinness pie was delicious and chips better than many chippies. How they do that with bargain prices baffles me. Highly recommend
