The reception on arrival was warm & very welcoming. The service was spot on, time to settle, order drinks & then choosing/ordering food. The carvery was the best I have experienced in a long time. Good choice of meats(3), with Salmon/Veggie alternative. The vegetables were very good &, surprisingly the roast potatoes that most Sunday lunch offerings always get wrong. Starter choices were good & I would highly recommend the squid. Choice of sweets was decent, although the first two courses were more than enough for me. Only downside was that the ale was limited to bottles of Doombar.

Highly recommend a visit here! We have just had a delicious carvery here to celebrate the anniversary of us meeting 13 years ago tomorrow. The food was delicious, cooked to perfection and the portions were generous. The staff were friendly, knowledgeable and attentive and made our first experience memorable. The weather was glorious so we took the opportunity to sit outside afterwards with elevated views across Danson Park, including the lake. Seating was solid rattan furniture with deep comfy cushions, a great opportunity to drink coffee, enjoy the fresh air and views and let your meal settle. After living relatively local from the age of 14 I can’t believe I haven’t visited here before and will definitely visit again. ( I’ve already rebooked a date for once we are back from our upcoming cruise!). This truly was such a wonderful place to celebrate, looking forward to returning already.

Absolutely love it in here. Great setting, delicious food, cater for vegetarians well and if you add a note when making the reservation it’s noted and absolutely wonderful staff. So warm and welcoming and go out of their way. A brilliant and precedent setting experience and such a glorious and relaxing way to spend a Sunday afternoon. Always a nice atmosphere. Thanks to all.

The carvery is mediocre compared to the lavish yorkshires at *other chains, the veg felt average but the cauliflower cheese was delicious. The setting and service is good and that’s probably what saves it and makes it a worthwhile visit. For £21.95 you get two courses and the dessert was delicious, all the classics for a winter’s Sunday menu.

Myself and m partner decided on Danson Boathouse, initially for location, scenery and budget. I had been to the venue a few times, for other events NYE, Brunches and many people spoke highly of it. All I can say is that the minute we connected with Jane and Rosie to find a date expectations were blown out the water. This was not just a venue. This is team of people who do everything to support you and make your day special. Nothing was any trouble, we had several meetings and all our requirements for our 120 Back tie wedding were met. On the day the venue looks stunning, We even used a singer Stacey-Cuddy from a brunch. I can not recommend this venue and it's attentive staff enough. Also, not forgetting the food - so many compliments !!!!!!

We cannot thank the Boathouse staff enough for all their hard work that made our wedding day the amazing day it was. The venue was made to look beautiful and all our guests commented that the food was excellent and how helpful all the staff was. Jane our wedding planner went above and beyond what would ever be expected and helped us through not one but two cancellations with care and sympathy, whatever we asked was never a problem for her, she replied to messages quickly and was always available when we needed her. The park grounds are amazing for photos. I would highly recommend the Boathouse if you are looking for a wedding or party venue. Thank you all so much !!!

We have been to the Boathouse on several occasions for their Sunday Carvery & have never been disappointed. This Sunday we visited again as a family we were welcomed at the door by a member of staff who made us feel very welcome. We were shown to our table were our waitress Kerry was very helpful with my disabled father in law. Our drinks order was taken & arrived very quickly. Kerry came back after a short while to take our food order. Then unlike other Carvery restaurants our food was brought to out table along with the a super selection of fresh cooked vegetables ( the cauliflower cheese was to die for)this made for a very relaxing afternoon. The food arrived hot & fresh. The waitress checked that everything was OK whilst checking we were OK for drinks. Once we finished our main meal she checked to see if we want dessert & explained what was on offer. Overall a fabulous Sunday afternoon, fatatic value for money exerllant service & top quality food. We will return soon gold stars to everyone.

The actual event was very good and reasonably priced. The singer was very good but so loud! We found ourselves shouting (nearby tables too) to try and make conversation. I did ask the waitress to see if the volume could be turned down whilst people were eating, she just looked awkward and the volume didn't change. Thankfully we were not near the front or it would have been unbearable and headache inducing. The afternoon ended with everyone dancing however. We are going to try again as it's a lovely way to spend an afternoon, however if the volume issue is the same we won't be returning again. There are lots of Brunch venues in the area for groups of Ladies to meet.

I visited 04/07/21 with my family for the sunday carvery. As expected in these recent times, we had table service. Our hostess was polite and attentive and as we had not been here before, explained the ordering process to us. You are asked for your choice of meats and they bring this to you with your potatoes, yorkshire and (my only gripe!) a thin sliver of stuffing, a selection of veg and the gravy boat are then brought to the table so that you can help yourself, along with any sauces that you opt for. The dinner was delicious, the turkey, beef and gammon each had so much flavour an melted in the mouth. There were a fair choice of desserts to choose from and i opted for the apple pie, which you could have with cream, custard or ice-cream but chose to have as it was. It had plenty of apple and a hint of cinnamon, and served warm, very tasty. Overall, the service was good, dinner and dessert were delicious and the Pint of Fosters tastes crisp and clean. £60 for two adults and a child including a well deserved tip. We will definitely be returning to this little gem.

Booked a reservation for a large party of people back in November 2019 for 22nd March 2020. Confirmed over the phone how much the courses were (£21.50 for 3 courses). However we did not realise this date fell on Mothering Sunday as we were going there to celebrate a birthday. I was informed in January 2020 that prices were going up on that Sunday to £30 a head (for a Sunday roast REALLY!). Alas we have had to cancel. We do not celebrate Mother's day and I'm sure we are not the only ones. These prices are extortionate for a dinner you could cook at home for much less. Very disappointed.

We went here to celebrate a friends 50th Birthday. There was around 30 of us so we took up 3 tables. I must say though when we arrived (2.30pm) the restaurant was already full with a very good atmosphere. We were quickly served drinks which we took out to the roof terrace. The views over the lake and park from here are amazing and if its a nice day (which is was) a brilliant way to experience a drink before dinner. You do fear that the service will be slow when you are part of a big party but each table had their own waitress and we was pleasantly surprised at how quick the starters came out. Our table had various dishes and there was not a single complaint. The salmon especially was very good. After that it is up to the carvery. If you like a lot of meat then this place is for you. Beef, turkey and Gammon and plenty of it!!. Roast potatoes are always a let down at a carvery but even though they were not quite as good as you can cook at home were nevertheless very good. Yorkshires, veg and all the trimmings made for an excellent meal. We also had a singer that created a good atmosphere and the whole day was a real success. Very highly recommend for Sunday dinner and as always no clearing up to be done!!.

Visited this on a Sunday for the carvery roast dinner as could not get booked into the Toby down the road. Last bookings are 5pm and our table was 4.30 so it was quite late in the day and untidy in there. Bits of food on floor but there were children in there so I suppose it can't be helped. Decided to go for three courses for £19.99 - good choice of starters and desserts. Carvery itself was turkey, gammon and beef. Turkey and gammon were good but beef was tough. Vegetables were peas, red cabbage, carrots and cauliflower cheese. Vegetables were ok but I felt you needed more green veg i.e., broccoli, cabbage. At end staff helped themselves to carvery which is ok but it would have been nice if they could have waited until we left!

Paid a visit today to try out the carvery (wish we hadn't) I am afraid that I was not impressed thought it was overpriced for the standard. Only saving grace was the staff who were all very nice. The carvery itself was short on meat, the lady in front of me was only given one slice of turkey until she asked for another, the yorkshires were soggy, the gravy was like water and the roasties had onion in with them? To cap it all when my husband was being served they ran out of potatoes altogether and it took about 10 minutes for some more to be brought out by which time he was half way through his dinner, Of course only down the road from Toby which is packed every Sunday and costs pretty much half the amount. Overall very disappointed won't be going back

Would have loved to sit outside, but the balcony wasn't open (the only bad thing I can say about that place!). The roast was lovely, but I think the best thing was the dessert! We were a party of 10, seven of us local but three drove up the 130 miles from Dorset. We were not disappointed. Have read recent reviews about the entrance to The Boathouse being uninviting but once we were in the dining room the staff and the mood was very convivial and could not be faulted. The number of bookings for Christmas Day lunch meant various sittings were available. We chose a later sitting and wondered beforehand if the food would be sparse. We had no need to worry, the meal was in the form of a carvery, although we had all stated our preference for Starter, Mains and Pudding.Although extremely busy and bustling, all was under control, and by the time we ordered drinks we were shown to our table and quickly served with our starter. The staff were very efficient, pleasant and helpful. When we went to the carvery we still had freshly cooked vegetables and meats available and could have what we wanted. The food was excellent and we all enjoyed our meal. The portions for the starter and pudding were generous too.Fourteen members of staff were on duty, and we would to thank each of every one for giving up their Christmas day to look after us so well. Having been here before was expecting a good night out. Paid £50 for a 3 course meal and CHRISTMAS NOVELTIES. Prawn and crayfish starter was mainly lettuce and devoid of any flavour, turkey dinner was ok if you were a child and Eton mess seemed like it had been bought in from the local supermarket. And there was NO WINE included in this. Very overpriced for a very inadequate meal. And the Christmas novelties were squeaky balloons and pea shooters, again fine if you are child. Staff were friendly enough and the service was ok. The dj managed to get everybody dancing which added to the atmosphere. But overall, I feel the management have become greedy and are charging prices more suitable to central London rather than Bexleyheath. Certainly won't be recommending for any future events and from conversations I've had with others, I think the Boathouse had priced itself out of the park.

First of all I want to thank the kitchen for helping us with our menu choices a friend had to cancel her night due to family commitments but we then found our menu choices weren't clear - the manager helped to clear this up.However I wouldn't return £50 for food is extortionate and very out of touch with current trend. if some wine had been on the table like past years then it would have been more acceptable. I've included a photo of the main course not exactly £50's worth. In addition to that the bar is useless. On arrival my husband bought a round of drinks I noticed that my barcardi & Diet Coke didn't taste right - the gun Diet Coke needed changing. I was asked if I'd compromise and have normal Coke to save them time with changing it .....erm no. My husband waited over 15 mins and nudged staff only to be told it had been done but left at the other end of the bar! He did ask if I could have a bottle as a mixer seeing as it wasn't our fault that the gun had runout and it was taking so long only to be told no there's a price difference - no customer service at all. The young man behind the bar should not have been working it was clear he couldn't cope he tried to over change my husband for drinks later in the evening my husband had to tell him the price and go through what he'd ordered only to find out he had charged for drinks not even ordered! It was he's first night & we were told this multiply times, not a valid excuse. I would also say that the bar staff never once asked how much mixer u wanted with your spirit and most drinks were drowned I couldn't taste the spirit in any of my drinks 1/2 pint glasses were filled to the brim, yuk. And only 2 staff behind the bar wasn't enough long waits at the bar and the new boy didn't have the experience to serve in order either very frustrating. When you think you can visit central London or Canary Wharf and pay £50 for a 3 course meal and limitless booze The Boat house is totally out of touch Christmas or not. As a couple we spent £218.00 for one evening!!!I will not return

Went here for the Sunday carvery but was very disappointed There was not many people there which was a bit of putting straight awayAfter being sat at the table we waited for a while with the 5 waitresses talking in a group at the barI eventually caught there attention to get some drinks & place our orderI wasn't expected top notch food but at least Toby standard !Unfortunately this was not the case Our starters came up very quick so was obvious pre prepared To be fair the meat was very good but the selection of vegetables was very poor just peas & carrots, soggy potatoes & dry Yorkshire puddings Through all this the waitresses where still standing in a group chatting & mucking aboutDidn't seem like anyone was supervising We did not stay for desert because it did not feel very comfortable We will not be returning

Starter very good. Carvery vegetables cold and boring. Reasonably priced but because of cold food wouldn't go again. This was a first visit too

nice views of the park the boathouse is a bit dated but the food and service was very good 4 adults and 1 aggravated baby in the party the staff could not do enough to help out keeping food warm ect while we calmed the little one down we held the wedding reception there later on in the year.

Went for a family meal today. Had prawn and crayfish cocktail for starters which was very nice. Most of us had the carvery for main and found the Yorkshire very dry there wasn't much veg selection. If I had a choice I would go the Toby every time. I don't think the extra money is worth the visit to the Boathouse.

Have eaten here on several occasions and booked for celebrations also. We have always had a nice meal and good service. The views across the lake are beautiful too in the summer or winter months. it can get very busy at times but on a quieter day it is a lovely restaurant for a nice family meal.

Although basically a carvery this is just that bit more. Food is at top end and the ambience is excellent situated as it is in Danson Park. Staff are excellent and prices are reasonable whether you have 2 or 3 courses. Have to book.

4 of us went to The boathouse carver for Sunday Carvery as we had never been before. First impression of the building wasn't the best as the exterior doesn't strike you as being a restaurant but more like a cafe. The inside was a bit better but the seating area and the decor seems quite dated and could definitely do with an upgrade. The atmosphere was ok but the background music wasn't the best and kept going up and down in volume which was slightly odd.The food however was really nice and the roast dinner was delicious with really good portions and definitely good value for money (The gammon was amazing). The service was ok but the poor girls serving seemed rushed off their feet as it was busy and could probably have done with a few more helping hands. We probably would go again as there aren't many other Carverys in the area and the food was really nice, but a bit of investment in the building and decor wouldnt go amiss.

Went as a party of 12 and resturant was already busy, but our table was ready without having to wait and the staff were not over stretched with the amount of tables they had.The food was cooked really well and tasted great.

My wife and I had an opportunity to dine at the Boathouse Bexleyheath for Valentines day and enjoyed the live soul singer Ritchie Soul. The food, ambience and service were as expected, excellent. Knowing it is owned by the same person as Blend Bar And Grill in Bexleyheath and having visited the carvery at the Boathouse on several occasions it was no surprise to find the usual excellent quality. We cannot recommend both establishments highly enough and will continue to visit regularly.

Carvery food was ok but nothing special. The price was double you would pay at most carverys and was certainly not worth the additional cost.Setting over the lake was nice and if not for the price would use again

When this Fish & Chip shop reopened about 2 years ago under new management, freshly revamped & called Hooked it all looked very promising ! The shop was clean & inviting & the cod & chips here were nice, not wonderful but miles better than the old Fish & Chip shop Sea Lion which was awful. Now I'm sorry to say it has deteriorated badly. I went in tonight just for beef & onion pie & chips and the place is dirty looking counters and the meat on the donar kebab spike looked disgusting like it had been there all week ! The pie was ok but you can't really ruin that as it's just heated in its pack, however the chips were horrible greasy and overcooked !! What has gone on here ! Such a shame as it's my local but I won't come here again ! Broadway Fish & Chip ShopBexleyheath by far & away best fish & chip shop in area, lovely tasting cod & chips, further for me but well worth it !

Had the lunch deal, good value for money. Tasty hot honey halloumi wrap with fries and coke for £8.49. I also enjoy the vegan meatball ciabatta
