This venue has all the attributes it needs to be a top spot. Looked it up as a place to go for breakfast/brunch on a Saturday morning. Arrived, loads of parking at Millbrook car park, the entrance was difficult to find. It has an absolutely prime spot on the river with beautiful decor inside and out. A fantastic kitchen, but no breakfast/brunch as website suggested. Coffee and cake was it. The place was all but empty. After calling out for some service, a chap came out and even advised us of another place in town to go to, which we did. I was SO disappointed. I’ll come and run the place for you if you like! I’ll even cook the brunches if you like! You have such a great opportunity to make this place thrive and yet I don’t see it. Maybe the evenings make up for it?

We went here with friends for a night out and we left very full ! Jana was an excellent host and well organised. There was a change in menu since she emailed it to us and several yummy choices had been removed 🤔 However the food we had was delicious. The only reason it didn’t get five stars was the lack of heating. It was very cold in there and I did point this out when we arrived. One of the staff said it would get warmer but I still had my coat around my shoulders at the end of the meal.

Fabulous food and excellent service. This is my 3rd visit to the boathouse and they didn’t disappoint. Food is an excellent standard but some portions could be larger for the price. Lovely location and great to have a restaurant where you can hear the conversation around the table. Service is friendly and attentive.

Beautiful surroundings. Staff were relatively helpful. Food was mixed, one dish was hot and freshly cooked. Other guest was served cold burnt sourdough toast with wrong condiments. Had to ask for fresh un burnt toast... disappointing as they tried to hide the fact that the toast was burnt and serve it to a customer.

Beautiful setting in Guildford and probably one of the best independent restaurants in Guildford. Every course was delicious and the staff especially Jana could not have been more organised and attentive. Would thoroughly recommend.

We parked in the car park next to this cafe/restaurant and went for a drink. So lovely, right on the river. We decided to go back for dinner and wasn’t disappointed. The food was absolutely delicious and the staff were so friendly and welcoming. Definitely give this place a try if you’re visiting Guildford.

They changed the chef. Went previously in December (for the last time, had been many times before last year). I think thy changed the ingredients and the chef. Sorry guys, you need to do something about it as soon as possible. Roast potatoes were dry and lamb was so so. My husband's pork was nice. I had the asparagus for starter. This dish use to have some sort of salmon eggs. This was no longer present.

Lovely location by the river where it would be nice to sit outside with a coffee in good weather, however I would not recommend the food. The menu is extremely limited, with a lack of choice for vegans. I opted for the Extravagant mushrooms. Portobello mushrooms on toast, but minus the buttered spinach & truffle oil. What I received was one cold slice of toasted sourdough with a thin scattering of cold mixed mushrooms & a few pinenuts. It was unpleasant to eat as the mushrooms were cold, slippery, chewy & tasteless. Not Portobello mushrooms as described & a very high price of £10.50. Truffle oil is no substitute for bland, poorly cooked food. On the plus side the coffee was nice, but it was let down by adding chocolate (contains milk) to an oatmilk cappuccino.

I had read about this new restaurant in the local area online news service. My wife and I booked a midweek dinner. The surroundings were lovely being on the site of the old boathouse in Guildford. Even though the menu is limited the food was excellently prepared. The portions were generous and the service was very good. We are planning to return to try their lunch menu.

My friend and I were looking for somewhere for a pre-theatre meal before attending the Yvonne Arnold Theatre. This new venue is perfectly located. Another bonus is its location next to the Millbrook car park. The evening menu is quite limited, but my friend's celeriac soup was thick and tasty, and my choice of cod fillet with tomato, clams and squid, was freshly cooked and very tasty. Mine was on the pricey side at £23.00 but I wasn't charged for the homemade bread roll I requested. I imagine the venue would be lovely to visit on a dry sunny day as they have a great outdoor space to enjoy the location overlooking the river.

This is a beautiful location with a great style of decor. Overall things were pleasant and we enjoyed our lunch. Our original server was friendly and responsive. We ordered soup and salad. We have one complaint. We ordered mixed nuts and were disappointed with the quality. We received a bowl of what tasted like dry roasted peanuts with some spice on top. It didn’t match the description on the menu. When we bought this to the attention of a new server who just went on duty he told us that the menu description was accurate. I was surprised that our comment didn’t warrant a stronger response. For a new restaurants trying to develop a committed clientele, this was not handled well. This menu item was disappointing and should have been deducted from our bill when we expressed dissatisfaction.

We stopped here for a snack around lunchtime on a Sunday. The menu is quite small but varied and interesting food and drink options. We ordered two simple snacks. Unfortunately these took a whole hour to arrive despite the venue being only 50% occupied. Good food and lovely venue spoiled by slow service.

Young and old women behind the counter, one customer waiting for a coffee and me standing by the till, young one is making the one drink for the other customer, the older one just walking around, not doing anything, after 3minutes of being ignored/overlooked I walked away, not a first time, but first time when is not busy at all.

Curry’s were really blend and liquid. Almost like someone just added some water to it make it fill out the portion pot. I was really lucking vegetables as well from our dishes. Egg fried rice was a decent portion but again with lots of flaws. Naan bread really sweet, but good size. There are better indian take outs around. Price wise good, but we won’t be returning.
