Great place to stop for breakfast and lunch on the outside seating, overlooking the sea. Nice place for coffee and a pastry or something more substantial.

We came in at 8:48pm after a long journey to Deal and were told the kitchen closes at 8:45pm - even though the website clearly states food is served until 9pm.

Nice place to eat or just have a drink it's right on the seafront.

The service was so slow and disorganised that we did not bother to eat there. At one point four people were behind the bar. However, couldn't be bothered to direct you to the queue. The only thing this bar has to offer is the seafront location

Went there on the strength of a great previous visit for afternoon tea, however this was no where as good, food was poor and not as much as the last visit, no offer to replenish tea pot, in fact most of the service was very poor, did they really want to be there! Atmosphere well, not worth commenting on, in and out in 50mins, in my opinion it was not worth the money.

Very nice, they made a great fuss of our dog , Scooby a black Lab!!😊😊

We went in here for drinks to get out of the bad weather. There's a lovely view of over the sea and a warm friendly atmosphere. The staff were really helpful and friendly. We didn't eat here but I saw food being served and it looked really good. Its very popular, judging by how full it was, we will visit again.

Exquisite attention to us as customers

Used to be a really brilliant place but this time the service was not great, they were not at all understanding of a request to have a dish prepared without toppings very difficult and rude about it and the toilets were blocked and smelly

URGH GARCON!! if you would not mind I will be having my meal to go. A boat is not a house its a aquatic vehicle... food was nice tho

Popped in today for late lunch, service was excellent and food pretty good as well. Love the loaded chips here. Great location and a lot of history to this old building. Foods good but was disappointed on my last visit as they changed the menu again removing a couple of my favourites. Can get extremely busy in the bar so sometimes it's best to use the restaurant, Same menu and better service. Had a Nice breakfast there whilst staying at hotel. Serves food there till late every day. there's a small public car park outside the pub or you can pay and display along the sea front behind the hotel. Dogs welcome.

I love this place, perhaps more because of association (my parents lived close by and this was one of our go-to places when I visited and for family occasions). I love the layout, the location and the atmosphere - it brings back happy memories. Food and service were good, perhaps a little expensive for my lunchtime budget.

Nice seafront restaurant. Excellent food and wines. We had calamari and smoked duck to start and the traditional beef and ale pie. All were beautifully cooked. We chose an Italian wine Nero d Avola which we had before in Italy but from a different vinyard. This was much nicer.

A nice meal here with friends. Good, friendly service and tasty, freshly cooked food. The restaurant was a little cold with the temperature but we still enjoyed the food.

Very nice location right on the promenade. The food was delicious, the baked Camembert was delicious, the service was courteous, friendly and quick. You should come back in summer to be able to enjoy the ambience of the terrace with a direct view of the sea even better.

Unfortunately we visited late on a quiet December tuesday evening so not seen at its best. Wonderful location overlooking beach and seafront

Lovely food and good atmosphere

We just had a fabulous lunch here with our 8 month old husky pup. The staff and food were amazing. We are having breakfast here before we head home.

It is a popular place to eat with a sea view. The restaurant is situated within a short walk from the station. It is spacious with a big indoor area and a terrace to eat or drink outside. We were happy with our fish and chips and leek and mushroom risotto. The food was delicious and portions generous. We didn't have to wait longer than 20 minutes for our order and the staff were nice and professional.

Didn't eat here but probably a good job. Waited over 20 minutes for coffee on Saturday and it was cold when it arrived. When we took it back they warmed it in the microwave so the cup was hot but coffee was still cold. Then on Sunday we waited again for a wine and can of Cherryade after being told drinks were being brought out staff walking around aimlessly when they could have just handed them over at the bar. Wouldn't recommend going if you want quick service or hot drinks.

Needs a refurbishment with sticky floors and tables, tired decor/signs of damp/leaks on ceilings. Lovely location on the beach at Deal. Menu was OK but the food was nice. Overall, Shepherd Neame need to spend some money on the bar/restaurant area.

My Mum and I had a table booked last weekend for lunch, we turned up a little early as we wanted to beat the lunchtime rush. They sat us immediately and then we waited and waited....after asking someone to take our order we asked for olives and 2 glasses of rose.....the olives arrived via another server....and no rose! The bar was not busy at all! Another couple (regulars) sat at the table next to us, and a server Sue who knew them was very friendly, so we asked if she could grab our rose for us....she was so friendly and helpful. We also placed the rest of our order with her.....our original server never once came back to check on us. Sue ended up being our server and was attentive and polite. If you frequent the Boathouse Pub ask for Sue....you won't be disappointed.

Very popular place. We were staying in the hotel and ate here for breakfast, had lunch and dinner also due to the standard of the food and service. Pimms on tap (yes please). Food was delicious.

Great Food, shockingly slow service. So luckily we were in no hurry as a 2 couse meal took 2.5hrs. Shown to our table at 5.30 but order not taken till 6.15, food arrived quickly and was delicious but further delay in drink order and another long wait for the desert order. Mistake on the bill was rectified at the bar and staff all pleasant. At 5.30 - 6pm it wasn't busy so no excuse for slow service.

Booked for a group of 10 for our last night of our holiday but some people were slightly disappointed. We were served by a lovely young waitress who took our order. As for the food a bit more thought and care is needed. Little things like slighlty overcooked scallops, oversasoned chicken, toasting the pittas as well as forgetting sauces that were part of the dishes. Overall the food was nice but be careful if you're table is over 6 people, they automatically add a 10% service charge which we asked them to remove from the bill twice which the older waitress didnt look too happy about. And if you book in advance they ask for a £50 deposit which they also forgot to remove from the bill. Nice atmosphere and a good view of the beach, just could do with some tweaks!

The service and the staff are amazing. Even when the table numbers were mixed up. They were very professional and always served with a smile on their face. I have gluten intolerance and they helped me order as well.

Lovely place, lovely food. Nothing wrong with the service, but had to request serviettes and condiments rather than them being brought to us with the food. No worries. Also prices are a little more 'London' than seaside town, but in the sunshine, who'd want to be anywhere else? Very pleasant.

Saturday midday. Beautiful view, good pint, good coffee, perfect weather, food was alright actually. That's about as far as it goes. Definetly not that busy yet in the pub. I was made to feel like I owed a couple of the servers a favour by ordering food. No politeness, no attempt to make us feel welcome, and no aknowledgement. I'm not going to spend my hard earned (nearly recession) money in hospitality as a treat for a service if it's not hard earned as well. (Even please and thanks would be good) It is important to mention this is not reflective of all the staff obviously!

Children not allowed after 9pm. Staff told us this at 8pm when we ordered. At 8.45 we were told we had only 15 minutes left. At 8:50 we were told 10 minutes left, as no dessert menu was offered we thought better pay our bill and leave. Not a relaxed family restaurant although we were staying in the hotel.

Service was good with friendly cheery waitress. Food was ok, not mind blowing delicious. The restaurant has good views of the sea. Maybe next time we will visit only for drinks.

This restaurant is just average. It’s actually just a pub I wouldn’t call it a restaurant. The food was not good. My starter of chilli prawns and lime was just a little bowl of prawns drowning in sweet chilli and not good prawns, my prawn and chorizo pasta was very oily and did not taste of prawns nor chorizo just double cream. My husband had pan fried sea bass with horrible soft skin and was very greasy. The service was very average the lady that delivered our drinks literally left the drinks tray on the table and walked off and at the end when we said we didn’t want any dessert she just left the bill at the table even though we didn’t ask for it. Very disappointed I would not recommend it and I won’t be going back.

Friendly, quick service in a great beach front location. I had a pot of English breakfast tea, it failed to brew and develop flavour and colour, so I suspect it was not made with boiling water :-(

Things are certainly back to normal usual menu plus specials board which was excellent.

The wife had a fish stew and it was fresh and great, I ordered cod and chips and the kids had the macaroni and cheese and it was awful. The fish tasted frozen and watery Kids food got sent back as well. If you do decided to eat in here good luck because if its fresh its ok but otherwise these a good fish and chip shop across the road

They added 5 items to my bill, when I said I think you've made a mistake, they removed one item, didn't say sorry, I said again excuse me but this still isn't right. We then played a game where each time she removed one item, only said a small sorry after bringing the 4th bill, then presented me with the tip screen when I paid, food was pretty average

Service was great. Try the smaller fish and chips and ask for loaded fries. A taste sensation. £2 extra I think. Should be on the menu. Delicious.

Pretty good food and the staff were very friendly and accommodating. This is the first time I'd been to the Boathouse in a couple of years and I always remembered it being one of the slightly more upmarket spots for a drink and food in the town, but it's just beginning to feel a bit tired inside. It is just a tad awkward when you promise your friend a really lovely ocean facing bar and then end up sat on a leather bench that's being held together with duct tape. Thankfully the quality of the food made up for a bit of ropey decor.

The food was not great. My son had tummy ache and I felt sick for the rest of the day. Potato mash was tasteless and looked like someone’s vomit. Oven roast chicken schnitzel was dry, hard and didn’t taste very good. Cheddar cheese and bacon burger was so so, fries were ok. No salad on a side just few pieces of pickles. British crab and crayfish linguine- felt like something is missing and there was only one piece of crab in a whole plate. Overall it seems like the person who was making the food, does’t like his/her job and is not using any spices or salt. The staff were nice and helpful though. I would not come back and would not recommend this place for anyone.

Really great pub with sea views, outside seating, and a great selection of vegan offerings!

We went here a couple of times for a snack at lunchtime and also one evening. The menu is varied and the food was very tasty and enjoyable. A good system was in use to control the covid situation. Excellent choice of wines here and good views of the sea from the outside tables. We liked it here very much.

Great view and attentive staff but the Sunday roast was decidedly mediocre and definitely not worth the money. There are much better restaurants nearby.

The location is quite nice, however we were welcomed by a lady who was quite rude at the entrance and the food was average.

Just had lunch. Food was fab and the staff were fantastic. So organised, so helpful and so mindful of safety. Hats off to everyone working there today. Impressive!
