Fantastic Sunday roast, worth every penny.

Had Sunday lunch here, It was very good, and a great price, definitely recommended

We booked and stayed here for 3 nights. I feel the rooms were worth what we paid,but were in need of some maintenance/ TLC. The mattresses were fairly comfortable, but the quilts were sliding off throughout the night because there was no flat sheet next to your body. So when you moved around through the night, you would invariably end up with your feet protruding from under the duvet! There was no breakfast or evening meals during our stay; no idea where the Sheffield was, but it meant we had to go into a nearby town to eat. Unfortunately too, the first night someone had their TV going until 3am and the second night road works from around 10.30pm until around 04.30am!! Needless to say, we had little sleep! The staff were very apologetic regarding the TV noise, but the roadwork was something they had no control over! There's no parking on the grounds, although you can park close to the Inn on the side road. I guess this could be an issue for some visitors. Overall, our stay wasn't the best,but the staff were really nice and very friendly. Sadly, I don't think we would stay here again. Sorry.

Advertised with public parking. The pub is located on main road and only parking is at junction. Combine this with residential parking then you have low chance of parking. They say you can park at town hall down the road and to the right. Good luck with that as they don’t own that location. Food is another story. Menu looked ok and food looked ok but when we sat down on a Friday night at 8pm they had no more steaks. As it was a bank holiday and people staying this was poor. Gluten free diet good luck young lady didn’t have clue what that was dairy or bread or both. Wouldn’t stay again. Beds are very firm like it had boards beneath. Lucky we only stayed one night and left for ferry next day. If you do t mind the above it has the location going for it. Ideal for ferry. The lantern a couple of miles away had good food but you need to book. Room was clean and quiet. Main door to the accommodation was left open all nigh. This may be due to gusts not closing but still a risk for someone to enter at night. Too many negatives for me.

I know they had a family upset but the food although cooked well was limited and I expected at least a spoonful of peas or a mini side salad with scampi and chips

Lovely little inn for one night, nice beds, showers etc, would recommend not having dinner there but still a lovely stay overall.

We stayed here after visiting Walmer Castle and Gardens. We could not fault anything. The location, the room,the staff, service and our evening meal were all great.

Very comfortable room good bathroom all very clean.Bed excellent a very substantial Breakfast and a lovely Host who filled us in on the very interesting history of the old Pub.Only stayed 1 night as catching the Ferry next morning but would be happy to have had longer there.

We went for a day trip in Dover yesterday and was in the area looking for an open restaurant nearby— the pub was still closed but they let us used the restroom — met their lovely dog Maggie as well. Thanks for the kindness!

I must give a 100 score for the host. They are friendly and kind indeed! As travellers from London, we were trying to find a toilet here, although the restaurant not in the time for open but the owner still provided the convenience for us. Thank you so much! Maggie is friendly as well! 🐶All the best!

We did a same day booking to get a really good value room here. Was a lovely place and very cosy piano lounge we sat and just relaxed there. Food was lovely there. No pub noise when in room. Really enjoyed our stay & will go back!

Fantastic location for exploring this area. But your room (1) was small. The view was the tiles of the roof. The room was very warm the bed was super comfy. The shower adequate. Our room was just above beer courtyard. So there was conversation noise and the smell of cigarettes.

Het eten is goed! We hebben 1x take-away en 2x binnen gegeten. Er is veel aandacht aan het eten besteed. De bediening en de entourage zouden een make-over mogen hebben. Buiten ziet het er netjes uit, binnengekomen oogt het niet gezellig. Maak er een echte donker Engelse pub van! Het is nu te ongezellig binnen.

Visited recently with friends for a beer, great to see Kate and her team have turned the pub round. Fresh new pumps new modern beers and a clean tidy atmosphere in which to drink them. The pub was once again teaming with locals and the addition of a Pool table now helps to create an warming atmosphere. Although we did not eat the food coming out of the kitchen looked great 😊 Well done Kate and team!

Arrived but hadn't book ...that wasn't a problem .. Waited ages for staff to take drinks order .. She didn't know what ales they had .. Had to go ask .. Didnt know if they had the soft drink i ordered.. Had to go ask .. Took our order ... Fillet steak medium rare ..peppercorn sauce .. And a pasta dish.. When it came ..the steak wasn't a fillet it was ribeye ..pointed it out to another waitress ... Oh didnt she tell you ..run out of fillet ..not a problem .. Tasted the peppercorn sauce .. It wasnt peppercorn ..it was white and only tasted of cream .. The pasta dish was fi e ... Went to pay .... Was nearl charged for fillet and when i pointed out that it wasnt the right sause , the reply twice was ..yes it was pepper corn ... No it wasnt i a cook .. Refused to pay for wrong sauce ... Ruined my parners meal snd our overall experience.. Some staff training and customer service would be valuable

Nice hotel, 5 rooms, good beds, very friendly staff (really!), and fabulous full English breakfast! Even got hot water for our own teabags (daughter loves strawberry tea). Coffee pots are beautiful, and coffee is good. The outside terrace and tables need some repairs. But as it was raining, we didn't mind. Cannot rate dinner food as we arrived late due to loads of tailbacks to Dover. Ideal for a night before taking the ferry.

Very nice accommodation, ideal for a family.

Following a funeral at Ringwould church, one of the mourners knocked on the door of this pub, which, it being a wet weekday lunchtime, was shut, and the landlord opened it especially for us, made us very welcome and gave us excellent service in this old, atmospheric and very comfortable pub. It is conveniently situated midway between Dover and Deal, close to the main road, and also provides accommodation. I asked the landlord if it was normal for a closed pub to open on request. He thought not! Highly recommended.

Little break for us on arrival we really was made to feel welcome , the. Lovely couple made us feel so welcome and gave us information about the area , we stayed for dinner which was really lovely we then decided to stay for Sunday lunch and that was delicious very fresh and home made . Nowhere to park. Sunday roast beef was disappointing. The meat was very tough, and at £14.95 per plate, was overpriced. Staff were helpful and friendly.

Friendly welcoming staff. We had a lovely meal on a Saturday night reasonably priced. Accommodation was clean, comfortable and very warm. We had a bath too which was great. Parking was tricky but did manage to park fairly close by and were told that there were cameras close by.

We hadn’t booked anywhere for lunch on a Sunday that turned out to be Deal’s half marathon and probably the first nice weather day of the year. Having been turned away from the first two places we tried, it was by luck that we ended up in Ringwould, with friendly service and proper pub Sunday lunch this place was a great find. I would definitely recommend it.

Had a great overnight stay at this hotel and even though overall cleanliness could be improved, it was clean enough and the very friendly and helpful approach made me forget all about it.

Geen enkel smetje op dit pareltje. Wat een heerlijk verblijf met een super gastheer John. Helaas geen ontbijt of diner, dit dankzij Covid. Maar als je echt alles in je eentje moet runnen, heb je mijn ontzag! Maar voor je ontbijt ga je toch zeker een stukje de weg af richting Deal? Daar staat al jaren de foodtruck Busy B's. Een heerlijk alternatief met ruime keuze in 'take-a-ways' en redelijk geprijsd. Prima start van de dag.

Would have given 3.1/2 no parking, have to find street parking or if you park outside would worry your car would get hit as very tight road. We stayed Monday evening and there was no evening food in the pub and no breakfast available in the morning. Room was fine and clean, en-suite was clean, although when you put the light on the extractor fan was quite loud which woke husband up when I went to the toilet in the night. The only plug next to the telly was a double plug, but the plug to the left didn't work, so had to unplug the fan so we could charge phones. Although nothing drastically wrong with the place I personally wouldn't stay again because of the parking.

We stayed one night before catching the ferry in the morning. Tidy and good location

This is a pleasant small hotel with modernised clean and comfortable rooms with good quality ensuite shower and WC facilities. It is currently under temporary management and the restaurant is not providing in house food. There is very limited on street parking adjacent to the pub/guesthouse. location is good as a base for a visit to the many lovely seaside towns and other attractions of East Kent.

Had a wonderful couple of days with my young son at this fascinating place. Landlord John was friendly engaging and helpful. By the time we left my son and John were practically best mates! Will be the first place I would book if ever in that area again.

Really enjoyed our one night at this quirky, friendly pub, with a fascinating village church and surrounds, and great walking down to the coast at Kingsdown. The landlord went the extra mile to turn our takeaway into a banquet with plates, cutlery and linen, and a private dining room. Nice people in the bar too. What more could you want if you're just passing through.

Mother and daughter partnership and you can tell by the daughter she is not nice. Mother thinks she's above everyone else with her being a retired teacher. Awful place

I just saw the episode on Four in a bed from some time ago. I don’t think they did themselves any favours there at all. Narrow minded and spiteful people especially the younger one. I was mortified for her.....

Hosts were lovely, as was the food but the rooms certainly need attention, stained carpet, damp walls,peeling paint very dissatisfied

Great location, which is convenient to walk or drive into Deal and also head to the Cliffs of Dover. Friendly staff with good pub food and reasonably priced drinks. Many nearby walking paths and bridle ways. Location is on the main road so it is easy to find but may be loud if you are a light sleeper.

We stayed in this hotel with my wife and my daughter before we took the ferry back to France. We we in what they called the apartment that is right on the main street. It is on the first floor and it is very noisy. You can hear people from the pub and the cars. The inside is very old and damaged. The 2 extra bed are owfull and broken. A really bad experience.

Gent who took us to our room was nice friendly and polite ... Beds nice and clean and comfortable ...but only one milk pod hence I still haven't had my caffeine fix .. bathroom looked like it hadn't been cleaned shower maybe not just once ,🤔 and skirting boards need a good dust ... But for the price and because it was literally an over night stop I survived

Difficult parking, little to no atmosphere, not helped by having hardley any customers in on a Saturday night. No draught beer just expensive wine. Planned to have a few drinks in there but left after the first one as it did not feel friendly. Do not want to return.

No, the meals created by Melanie and Alex are not high cuisine, but for me as a non-native it was nice enough. In fact, I very much liked the cooked breakfast. Straight forward as it is, every detail was cooked to perfection. And the nice and well chilled beer certainly made the evening even better

Attended my friends wedding reception here and what can I say. Absolutely fantastic. Wonderful managers-Mel and Alex. So friendly and welcoming. Made the evening even more delightful. Nothing was too much trouble. Food absolutely wonderful. All home cooked and tasted delicious. If I was to be looking for a venue myself for a special occasion, I would have no hesitation in booking with the five bells as the service and hospitality was second to none. Well done and thank you for making it a wonderful evening.

Attractive old country pub. Good selection of beers, including some brewed in Tonbridge for the pub. Friendly helpful staff. The food was good though not award winning. Didn’t have to book. I wouldn’t hesitate to go back.

Comfortable accommodation only 10 mins from ferry port in Dover. Sadly, owing to lack of a chef, evening dinner and breakfast were not available. Great food found in Deale, 2 miles away.

No cups in room, tray left from previous guests& no-one around to ask. No toilet roll. No hot water for shower & even after calling both emergency numbers on the back of the room door no-one answer or came to assist. Good job it wasn't a real urgency. Pretty Poor Show. Won t be staying again. Which is a shame as stayed many times before & had no issues.

Whole pub empty all night unlike the street parking but at 11.30 PM the noise from where the germans invaded the corridors

Our stay at Five Bells was really great. Gemma, the manager showed us into a very spacious and clean room with a nice size and very comfortable bed. The Inn offers a bar downstairs with drinks and entertainment. My family and I had a lovely time, thank you!

Really nice people running the place, but not having any hand-pulled beer is a massive issue in a pub.

My friend, her two children and I stayed here for one night a few weeks ago. Both our rooms were in a lovely decorative order, very clean, comfortable and restful with nice ensuite bathrooms, TV, WIFI and tea/coffee making facilities. And to top it all off the customer service was absolutely first class. I highly recommend staying here.

This place is brilliant! We stayed here over night before our trip to disney Paris, the rooms are fantastic staff are extremely helpful, great location 10 mins from eurotunnel we will deffo stay here again thank you !
