I recently had the opportunity to visit the Boathouse in Atzenbrugg and absolutely loved it! The rooms are simply great – cozy, charming and with a special flair. The entire area is lovingly designed and you immediately feel at home, whether you sit inside or outside. I would particularly like to highlight the extremely friendly and helpful waiters. The service was attentive, courteous and ensured that we felt in good hands the whole evening. The food was also excellent! From the starter to the dessert, everything was just right! A great location to celebrate that I can recommend to everyone!

We had the honor of working as wedding photographers at the Boathouse Restaurant at the Diamond Country Club in Atzenbrugg and we cannot praise this restaurant enough. The location not only offers a breathtaking backdrop that is perfect for wedding photos, but also exceptional service that makes our bride and groom's special day unforgettable. The dining experience was first class. The food was of the highest quality, lovingly prepared and tasted excellent. We were particularly impressed by the care with which the staff responded to the wishes and needs of the wedding party. Every guest was pampered and the food was perfectly coordinated with the wedding day. The atmosphere in the Boathouse is incomparable - a mixture of elegance and comfort that invites you to linger. Not only did we do our work that day, but we were also able to enjoy the hospitality and luxury of this unique place. For couples looking for a wedding venue with style, great food and a team that truly understands what it means to make a special day perfect, the Boathouse at Diamond Country Club is a highly recommended choice.

Seriously disappointed with the brunch offer, price-performance ratio totally contrary to expectations: little choice at the cold starter buffet, every better hotel has more for breakfast - 1x Emmental, 1x salmon, 1x ham, 1x salami, 2 salads, 1x bacon-wrapped cheese with chanterelles, thawed pastries...no eggs, no spreads, no juices...nothing fancy or exquisite to justify the price. Staff were probably overwhelmed with time, cold buffet wasn't even set up at the announced time. Then it took a very long time until the warm part, which didn't cause any enthusiasm (mini schnitzel not even very fresh, potato wedges, risotto, tough chicken with chanterelles, etc.) After another long wait, there were 3 desserts to choose from! And the icing on the cake: a list of the dishes that was obviously quickly handwritten, one copy of which was distributed to each table, but only shortly before the warm buffet opened, and of course there was no labeling on site. The whole thing seemed unoprofessional, as if there had never been a brunch there before. And for 54 euros... the nice location can't make up for that

We are currently here at the golf course in Atzenbrugg for a few days... GC DIAMOND. We received a very warm welcome and the rooms in the hotel are great. In the evening we visited the Boathouse restaurant on the golf course... It was just great. Great service from the staff and great food. It was perfect. We would get great advice, food and wine and the dishes were excellent. We can recommend the restaurant 100 percent.

My wife and I booked a room at this great golf club for 4 days. Today I want to have a drink in the boathouse right by the clubhouse at 2100. Open until 2300. They didn't feel like working to serve a glass of wine to an additional guest at the completely empty counter. ALLEGEDLY: “Closed Society”, but turns out to be a small tournament with only a few tables occupied. I spoke to the bar manager LUBO in the boathouse and tried very nicely that I only wanted to drink one or two glasses of wine at the bar and then go to my room. He wasn't in the mood at all and wouldn't let anyone talk to him. Sent me to the empty clubhouse to his colleague who is still working. NOW COMES: The poor colleague in the clubhouse next door hosted me as the only guest! for my 2 glasses of wine and his boss now has to pay his overtime, light, electricity,... WHAT A COLLEAGUE “LUBO” IN THE BOATHOUSE

After the round of golf on March 3rd, 2024 in the reopened boathouse. As expected, after a wonderful day with bright sunshine, well attended. Waiting times for a drink were 30 minutes and another 30 minutes for a cold dish. The service staff was completely overwhelmed, sometimes unfriendly and absolutely understaffed. There is still a lot to do in management. It's a shame about the attractive location.

Speisen Top - Tolles Ambiente - aufmerksamer Service!

Postcard setting in the summer, lovely location. To the right owners with the finances to invest in major development/refurbishment, this could be the envy of every pub chain and publican across Leicestershire. Needs a lot of money invested, but would be the jewel in the crown with the right owners.

The manager/owner is rude and has absolutely no decorum whatsoever. I don't appreciate having to hear foul language being shouted across the bar/garden area in front of children. The interior is not that of a pub or a restaurant, but of what can only be described as a very distasteful living room, with some tatty looking furniture. The play area is not maintained to a high standard and most of the equipment is filthy dirty, the sand pit absolutely stinks and is likened to a huge litter tray. It should be the best pub in the village, considering the fantastic location next to the canal, however it is by far the worst due to the terrible attitude of the managers/owners. I would not recommend you waste your time visiting, go to any other pub in the village instead.

I am reviewing this as a pub, not a restaurant. The location is very good. There is a beer garden next to the canal in Barrow-on-Soar where we had our drinks. Also tables outside on a terrace. It was a very warm day and most customers chose to drink outside. The prices were average -£5.45 for a beer and a tonic- and the interior of the pub needs a facelift. I think the title of this review sums it up.

The previous reviews are completely accurate - this is a lovely place to sit with a drink outside, but that's the only real positive. The food was pretty average - small, albeit tasty portion of scampi, but badly-cooked rice and bad chips. The inside can't decide what it wants to be: 90s-style pub or local corner shop. The music outside also spoiled the atmosphere - much too loud.

Mix of couples/family dining, excellent service, good choice of menu options. Well presented and good range of wine options too. Just happened to pop into this friendly little place on Sunday. Lovely place to sit and have a drink near the canal. Live band playing and good atmosphere. We decided to stay for lunch and settled for a carvery with beef. We were so disappointed with the food. The beef was the toughest meat I have ever come across. Totally inedible. I couldn't even cut it with the knife. We left the vast majority of the meal. When the young lad came to clear the table he asked the obligatory 'how was the meal?' we told him that the plate spoke for itself as most of the food was left and unfortunately the beef was tough as old boots and not edible to which he replied 'oh' and disappeared. We didn't complain because we were having a good time apart from that. So my advice with this place is, have a drink and enjoy yourself but steer clear of the meat.

We called in in a Sat evening about 7pm. Party of 5 with one vegetarian. The restaurant was nearly empty, which seemed strange. The meet & greet waiter seemed nervous & uncertain. He explained that 2 of the veggie options were not available & asked if we'd like a drink. As we had no drinks menu this was difficult. We then looked at the menu & were appalled at the high prices - much more expensive than a Harvester, Beefeater or Wetherspoons, which may have some bearing on why the restaurant was nearly empty. We thought starters at around £7 & fish & chips at £14 exhorbitant. We voted with our feet & left.
This is a prime location for a restaurant - overlooking the river, with good access & 'kerb-appeal', so I would urge major re-thinking as regards the menu.
Although negative, I do hope this review will prove useful.

We visited the Boathouse Restaurant on Sunday 3rd July 2016 for my mum's 65th birthday.
We had pre-booked a table and requested a table by the window overlooking the river - which was honoured.

We weren't sure on the menu choices before we arrived as the website said there would be a new menu from the 1st July onwards.

We were seated straight away and had our drinks orders placed by a very pleasant waitress.
We opted for the 2 & 3 course carvery lunch - although we didn't realise that we had to have a ticket from the waitress to exchange for our meal.

2 of our party had starters which were of a decent size and the quality was very good.
We all had the carvery for our mains - lots of choice - plenty of vegetables, sauces, gravy, Yorkshire puddings and a selection of meats (chicken, gammon & beef).
Would you believe that we all still managed to fit in a pudding - although by now we were wishing that we could have taken it to go.
They were just as amazing as the rest of the food.

All in all - the Boathouse Restaurant was a fabulous choice for a special sit down meal.
We have visited on several occasions and have always had fantastic service.

Your restaurant had been recommended to us by my daughter who had eaten there last week and had a lovely meal.
Our experience was certainly different. We were a party of nine and having made an initial order of drinks a waitress eventually took our order for food.
We waited some time for our starters to be served. Six of us had ordered garlic bread which turned out to be like warm doe – it was anemic in colour and certainly not crispy at all. In fact it was awful.
I had ordered pate. The pate was obviously shop bought and very cheap and tasteless with the toast like warm bread. The chutney fortunately helped to mask the other tastes.
Our main courses – first of all two main courses did not arrive until everyone else had nearly finished and then only when I had gone to the bar to query where they were. They were supposedly chicken burgers. They were in fact something you would buy from Iceland for a pack of six costing a pound. (I think they were referred to as very similar to the chicken dinosaur burgers they had from Iceland as children).
My husband ordered a steak well done – which when cut had blood pouring out.
My Father in Law and I order the lamb – described as being served with roast potatoes, mixed vegetables and rosemary gravy. Firstly it was served on tiny plates that should have been used for French loaf and everything was piled up with the lamb chop on top. The mixed vegetables were in my case cauliflour (only cauliflour) and in my Father in Laws case cabbage (only cabbage). This was served with roast potatoes (at least I think that’s what they were supposed to be) and a spoonful of gravy. The meal was dull, dry and difficult to eat on such a small plate.
The dessert was mediocre.
The meal was a huge disappointment and my daughter (who had recommended the restaurant) said it was like eating somewhere entirely different to the previous week.
We paid a large amount of money for a very disappointing and tasteless meal.

My family and I went for lunch at the Boat House Bar and Restaurant yesterday. The experience was rather disappointing. While we had expected a gastropub with really good food, the restaurant had more of the air and menu of an average pub and the food was actually less appealing than the traditional pub opposite. The service was also poor, with dishes arriving late and at different times, with the wrong side orders and drinks taking ages to arrive. Overall, not worth the money.

Very disappointing! There were six of us and 5 x starters were given out whilst a sixth didn't arrive! After 6 or 7 mins had to chase it up and 5-10 mins later it finally arrived whilst everyone else had finished.
The White wine wasn't chilled and we were told that it hadn't been from a chilled environment.
The main courses weren't bad but took a long time to arrive so overall we all felt very disappointed and no one really apologised apart from the young lad who apologised about the wine!

the boathouse bar & restaurant gave us a very average meal for what was a very special occasion. It was my father's 50th birthday and having eaten here before we were expecting nice food. The waiter didnt write our order down & the food took an hour to arrive! we suspect he forgot to put it into the kitchen. the waiting staff were truly chaotic. the funny thing is we ate here last time on a busy sunday lunchtime and it was great. this time the place was empty so how come the service was worse?

I took two friends to The Boathouse, Chertsey. on Monday 19-09-11 for lunch. Met at reception by a very pleasant young man who was anxious to please and who was our waiter. My friend is a consultant eye surgeon and along with his wife is very particular about food. We were not disappointed with the food. The service was good. Disappointed with the wine list and the absence of a particular wine. No cheese board. Mentioned this to the manager on leaving. Third visit. Ambience vgood. Recommended.

The Boathouse Bar and Restaurant, Chertsey - quite a limited menu - we popped in for a work lunch and ordered the steak and cheese wrap which was really good!
Service a bit on the slow side though and it wasn't really busy!
Would go again for a quick bite to eat but not for a night out!

The Boathouse restaurant in Chertsey, Surrey part of the Bridge Hotel is right on a backwater of the river Thames. It is clean (I always check the toilets-they were spotless) airy and spacious. It is staffed by the friendliest people you could wish to meet. I have enjoyed two meals there, one a party of eight and just recently a party of three. The portions were enormous and well cooked. I would recommend a visit.

The Boathouse Restaurant in Chertsey is a convenient 5-10 min drive from Thorpe Park and provides a good way to round off a day spent there. The food was good. Our choices ranged from pasta to burgers which were cooked well. The Olives in the starter with Pitta bread were of a high quality and the tempura squid and prawns was perfectly done. The service could be improved a little if they were more attentive but overall everybody was friendly and welcoming.

The Boathouse Bar and Restaurant, in Chertsey. Went there last night with my family after visting Thorpe park. The service was first class and the staff very friendly and helpful, was not rushed as to get more guests in and found the atmosphere very pleasant and the food was first class and arrived together piping hot, I would say my only gripe would be that there was no back ground music. Well done to all down at the Boathouse and thanks for a lovely night.

Bridge Hotel Chertsey. The food was OK except for one of the kids meals - a burger. This was overcooked, dried out and inedible. When we complained they deducted the cost from the bill. The service was friendly but the main courses took ages to arrive. On the plus side, it was a nice evening and we sat ouitside overlooking the river - a lovely setting.

A very pleasant Sunday afternoon was spent at The Boathouse Bar and Restaurant in Cherstey. We enjoyed a tasty lunch of seafood, burger, nachos, fajitas and chicken wrapped in bacon. The restaurant was very busy and therefore service was a little slow on occasions, but staff were pleasant and attentive and with no time restrictions on our afternoon we were happy to enjoy the surroundings. Beautifully located with pretty views of the river from the outside terrace.

This was my second time staying at The Bridge Hotel at Chertsey, with its integral Boathouse Bar and Restaurant. Its beautiful location on the banks of the Thames, right by the bridge, is reason enough to go there.
It has a fair choice on the menu, with prices not too bad, and the waiting staff were excellent. A very busy restaurant, as one might expect this time of the year. Making an online table booking through toptable.com worked out a treat, as I saved 20% on the cost of the food.

the boathouse in chertsey was a pleasant setting for my mums birthday meal. they gave us a great table and the 20% off made it even better value at £20 a head for drinks and two courses. service was good - attentive but not over bearing. it was busier than i thought it might be so may be worth booking, especially on summer sundays as its right on the river. overall very good - somewhere between a chain restaurant and a gastropub but very enjoyable.

First impressions are that the atmosphere is relaxed and quite welcoming. We were sitted quite quickly and asked if we wanted a drink, which we said to give us a couple more minutes - we never were asked or visited by the lady again! After approaching 10 minutes, we caught the eye of someone who took our drink and food order. Food arrived a little slower than one would expect for what we had ordered, and the place wasnt busy, but it wasnt special, more like OK. We ate and asked for the bill.

The Boathouse is next to Chertsey Bridge on the Thames and has a great location and easy parking. The service was attentive from the moment we arrived and the food was well presented and tasty, although I would class it as high-end pub fare not restaurant standard. This is not meant as a criticism as the it was good value for the money, especially with the Toptable 20% discount.
The only downside was the fact there was football on the TV in the bar area which was slightly intrusive.

Well it’s been some months since I last came here. Thought I’d give it another go because everyone can have a bad day. Wow, exactly the same as last time. Unable to Make a cheese burger ( forgot the cheese ) and yet again fries hard and cold in the middle and burnt on the outside. Terrible.
