John Cooper's Restaurant & Bar in Charnwood

Me and my friend ordered pancakes at the same time and hers came in about 10 mins, after half an hour we asked the staff why we didn't have 2 stacks and they hadn't put the second pancake through even though we paid for 2. The order then got put on the top and had to wait an extra 30 mins for it to come out even though it was their mistake. This meant Not very happy with the customer service unfortunately.

Got served a raw pizza, as for it to be cooked more and it came back still raw :)

Cheap pints, including a happy hour, which is always a bonus.

Venue staff very friendly great to see searches in place and a really friendly medical team looking out for welfare of students

Drinks are cheap but expect to wait 45 minutes for them. Don’t come thirsty

All my food came out stone cold, I tried to eat it at first however it wasn’t very pleasant. Asked for some hot gravy to warm it up. 10 mins later they brought the gravy which was also stone cold.

We travel to the University every year for an informal Reunion. We have been doing so for many years. The JC bar has now been modernised into exactly what you can find in town many times over. It has had it's souls ripped out and is now bland, without atmosphere and certainly not what it has been for many years. It was so disappointing for all of us ex students to see what it has now become.

Insanely slow to be served. Arrived when it was relatively quiet and still took 10 minutes to place my order (with only one person in front of me) by the time my order was placed there were seven people queueing behind me. Not the place to go if you have a limited amount of time. Food is decent.

Really enjoy it here, nice chilled atmosphere and food and drinks are yummy and good prizes. We went for the Thursday quiz night which is top notch - although lots of people get away with cheating!!

Visited here both as a student at Loughborough a decade ago and as an 'adult' working back in Loughborough. The food is fine, your average pub grub fayre, but if there's a lunchtime/dinnertime rush (more than a few tables of people) the service becomes just terribly, terribly slow. The bartenders seem to get confused and serve people at the bar who haven't been waiting nearly half the time of others, and food seems to come out of the kitchen in fits and starts. I've easily waited 40 mins - hour at lunchtime for a club sandwich before now. I would say either hire more kitchen/wait staff or stop accepting huge bookings the kitchen just can't seem to handle.
