For an all day breakfast this is the place for you. Friendly enough staff and good breakfast food. Availability on the lunch menu was a bit sketchy.

I visited today, was pleased with the decor and layout. The staff were very friendly and helpful. I had a cheese omelette, the lady that cooked it was really good. The omelette was light and fluffy. You could see all the cooking very clean. Fairly priced too, cẳn recommend this cafe.

No volvería

Considering the provision of lobster straight off the boat into the restaurant the lobster rolls should have been world class but the beer was a lot more interesting. The fries were soggy, very unlike the fries elsewhere on PEI. How can you go wrong when you have lobster off a boat 100 feet away? Somehow they don't quite understand what potential exists for this place if done right. Lose the kids working as waiters, hire a chef that knows how to put together simple seafood dishes, change the oil in your deep fat fryer at least every second day and build on your strengths.

We are new to the area and went to the Boat Shop Cafe for the first time on Tuesday, the cafe is nice and clean, the food was fine, typical cafe fare, pre cooked, reheated food, nicely presented at affordable prices. However, our experience was spoiled by the staff, the cafe has a open plan kitchen/dining area, and we had to sit listening to the staff complain about the owner, and how useless he was and bout how little he does, we left the cafe feeling a little awkward, and hoped it was a one off. We fancied a cooked breakfast today, and thought we give the place a second chance, the service was very slow, but again the food was ok, reheated sausages and bacon, luke warm beans, an egg, and toast, we've had nicer but it was certainly edible. A pity it was served on a cold plate, but forgivable, as I told my husband it's a cafe and not a restaurant. However, all we could hear coming from the kitchen was so much bad language, the staff were again complaining about the useless owner, but worse than that, far worse they were constantly complaining about the customers, in language and a way I won't repeat on here. So we say this, apologies to the staff at cafe, we are sorry that we came in to spend money, we are sorry that we ordered a cooked breakfast, and had we realised it was so much trouble for you, we would of gone elsewhere, but be assured we will go elsewhere in the future.

This cafe is as good as gold, I knew people who lived above this place when it still a boat shop, I think they were wise with the name, The Boat shop was a land mark in woolston, it's hard not to just think Annies cafe when locals think of a café in woolston, years ago Annies cafe was Macs café, The Boat shop café I suppose is the competition, they have been in woolston for probably about a decade, so my advice to travellers would be to try both and pick your favourite .

Another first class breakfast consumed this morning. Definitely the best value for money Cafe in Woolston, maybe even the whole of Southampton. The staff are always very friendly and helpful and can even show how to tackle tough issues like how to remove a tea bag from a mug of hot water before it stews and the mind boggling situation of how to use a milk jug correctly. Alternatively, these two simple for most tasks are covered in the Teletubbies DVD box set. Just look for series four episode 2.

We like the Boat Shop Cafe. It was the first cafe we went to when we moved to Southampton. It is clean and functional, and does the job. There's enough seating, and a relaxed atmosphere. There isn't much in the way of decoration when compared with the warmth of Piggys, but does have plenty of natural light from the large plate glass window at the front. Prices are reasonable. Food is the standard cafe fare, with cheap ingredients indifferently cooked, but it's all quite edible. There are, of course, niggles such an an overstewed tea bag left in the mug, and a milk jug that spills milk as it pours, but these niggles are fairly common to similar everyday cafes. The overall impression is good. Cheap, homely, edible food in clean and relaxed surroundings.

I was at the Boatshop Cafe on the day of the 'Bad Service' day. I had to reply to this person as what he has said is utter RUBBISH. I was sat in the corner of the cafe that day and as happens quite frequently the place went from quiet to busy in a matter of minutes. In walks the the culprit of this completely minor incident, a regular who is not welcome at any of the other cafes in the area because of his bad hygiene, aggressive nature and literally non stop questioning of prices and how long do I have to wait! The staff of the Boatshop have bent over backwards for this guy for the last couple of years, but you can't help some people. On the day in question, there was certainly no threats made to anyone. One of the staff, in a raised voice, told the guy that he was fed up with his constant complaining and that if he didn't like anything about the cafe, don't bother coming in anymore. The person making this complaint also stated that he was threatened, again that's utter RUBBISH. Yes there were a few verbal exchanges, but no threats... Apart from the customer who said he'd pop back in when his cast was removed! I always believe in a situation like this you should find out the cause of the argument, unfortunately some people like to comment on things they haven't got a clue about and looking at your grammar, I doubt you know about anything!

This long standing traditional cafe has recently come under new management, it always was good but now it is better than ever. The food is always made to order so you can guarantee it will be fresh and piping hot, set breakfast menus with tea and coffee included in the deal, or just make your own, they are very obliging, Very quick service, even when busy. The staff are friendly and attentive but not over bearing, happy to do anything to help. Apart from the usual breakfasts, you will find a range of homemade food such as Chili, soups, scampi, pies, burgers and omelettes along side a good selection of hot drinks and there is always homemade cake. A bustling place popular with locals and visitors alike. Open 7 days a week.
