Bad customers swearing none stop F & C words! Bar staff accepted as the norm took part too! Was not a pleasant atmosphere not good! Chips were not cooked either, they knocked the price of 1 pint off the bill of £68 for two people. Had we had our grandchildren there, I would have said something about the terrible language.

Me and my wife stopped at the boat and i had soup which was heinz from a can but still hot as not advertised as home made so fine .i then had the lasagne and wide had cajun chicken bacon cheese melt both absolutly great .I am fussy but i will go back again Thank you for a nice cheap meal

This pub is friendly with tasty food they go out of their way to make you feel comfortable everyone smiles and talks to you We had steak and chips and Turkey roast which was lovely have booked to go again P and D

I popped in here for a drink with my husband and child. I started to order at the bar and the staff asked if they fruit-shoot was for a child. I said yes and they refused to serve us unless the child was having a main meal. We said we were going to sit outside anyway as all the tables were reserved but that still wasn’t good enough. Think it’s absolutely ridiculous!

Family get together, no Christmas decorations on table. Five people sat on table , only suitable for three , although we had booked. Other table suitable for six/seven people Three people sat on. Bar person miserable, meals disappointing. Will not be returning.

Visited today for lunch for the 1st time. Lovely quaint pub with nice large beer garden. Excellent food and very reasonably priced. Huge portions, left very happy. Highly recommend.

This is our favourite place to eat as a family or as a couple. Food is amazing. Chef is brilliant at what she does.

Went in the week with my partner for lunch which was nice, came back on the Sunday with my partner and children and it is the worst food I’ve ever seen, looked and tasted like jail food, absolutely disgusting!!! even the Pepsi was watered down and the service was even worse, absolutely worse I have ever seen would not recommend this place to my worst enemy!!!! Steer clear

Tasty and plentiful. Staff recommended the chicken melt and I wasn’t disappointed. Nice environment and reasonable choice of real ales - albeit from a National Brand rather than independent brewers

First time visit and I only live around the corner too. Phoned up to book a table and was greeted by a young lady very helpful and friendly , even asking if I wanted a special table to sit at. The food was absolutely lovely, partner had a Sunday dinner omg Hugh and tasty. I had Cajun chicken melt with side salad and home made chips omg to die for, bit like hunters chicken but with Cajun chicken loved it. No space for pudding , friendly staff, lovely food and cheap too.

Went here for lunch with some colleagues and what a great choice. The staff were friendly and helpful and the food was spot on, I had ham eggs and chips and large portions of quality ingredients cooked really well. The price was very reasonable as well

Lovely food after our walk at coombe. Me, my partner and little girl were seated well, looked after and the locals in there were lovely too. Definitely be going back, already booked a table. I’m very local and always forget about it being just up the road. X

As a family we have been coming here for food for years! We have never had anything bad. The food has always been lovely. Service is friendly and the pub has a lovely atmosphere. The food is freshly cooked and always tasty. Literally no complaints at all!

We were in Coventry for the weekend and, enthused by the positive reviews on here, we took the kids to watch the 5.30pm football match and have a meal. After I ordered drinks, a customer objected to children in the bar and the barmaid told us children were not allowed. Needless to say, we didn’t stay to eat.

Stopped for Sunday Lunch. Excellent value and excellent service. A delightful old traditional pub. Will definitely eat here again.

Old public house situated on outskirts of city. Choice of real ales available. Extensive menu to suit all pockets. Food is good and service is friendly.

Visited here today, due to walking in and immediately out of another pub..To the point.Dogs welcome yes, dogs allowed on owners lap yes.Toilets spotless, cheeky barmaid /waitress but friendly..Food : large portions, very yummyFirst time and it won't be the last..

My friend and I were recently recommended to the Boat for Sunday Lunch. We have now been about 9-10 times in the last few months. The Roast is Excellent. Meat Perfectly cooked. Very good value. All fresh, well cooked & presented. Pipping hot and very tasty. We had the Christmas Lunch today which was Outstanding. Talk about value for money. I am from Hotel & Catering back ground. Have been to and worked at numerous restaurants. Paid Big money for very poor, tasteless meals. I can highly recommend the Boat. Well Done Management & Staff. Me and my father had a very pleasant visit on Wednesday evening. We were greeted by ‘Shez’ behind the bar who was a very welcoming barmaid. We stayed for food and were very surprised with the hearty portion sizes they offer. Also I have to comment on the wonderful service from the waitress Lauren. She offered me 2 chocolates with my coffee as I did ask rather too soon where it had gotten to. I much look forward to visiting again soon.

I have been to the Boat a few times and each time the food and beer have been great. Its a small no-frills pub, the menu is basic pub food, but its all done very well with generous portions.

I went on a Monday evening to watch a Sky Sports match, the guest beer was lovely and I had a nice steak and a mountain of chips that I had no chance of finishing. the locals were very friendly despite me being a Villa fan. Will be back there many times.

Visited with my partner for dinner. We sat outside in the garden . Waited 20 minutes at the bar to be served a drink. Heard other customers complaining about the wait to be served. Took 15 minutes to order food. Had pasta bake which was the worst thing I have ever tasted!! Partner had daily roast which was cold. Staff bringing out food miserable and just basically threw the plates on the table, didn’t ask if we needed anything else or checked if our food was ok. Will definitely not be returning.

No he estado en este pub antes pasabas aunque he conducido en numerosas ocasiones. Fui con mi marido y otra pareja para el almuerzo. Estaba tranquilo cuando llegamos a las 12 del mediodía, pero pronto nos lleno así que obviamente muy popular. El personal era educado y amable. El menú tenía mucho para elegir y cuando llego la comida estaba caliente y muy sabroso. Fue una experiencia agradable y sin duda, volveremos. El único problema que tuve fue con el número de teléfono que es incorrecta en el sitio web. Llamé varias veces para reservar una mesa y no podía entender por qué nadie respondió. Cuando miré en tripadvisor que alguien había dado el número correcto, que era muy servicial.

Although we had not booked, the staff managed to fit us in on Saturday night. My two daughters had the lamb shank with vegetables and I had the beef madras with chips. The food was excellent, plenty of meat which was very tasty. The vegetables were cooked to perfection and the chips were hand cut. The service was spot-on and the lady who served us was very polite and friendly. We will definitely be going there again.

You will notice that most of the reviews mention the quality of the meals, I believe most of them to be correct, however it is a 'pub' and the draught beers served here are the worst I have ever come across.

We've never had a bad meal here. Was back again today for lunch with the folks...totally yummy. Worth a visit.

This is a little boozer on the outskirts of Coventry, I’ve been to this place a fair few times over the past decade.

Parado para para el almuerzo decidimos por el especial del día, que era pescado y patatas fritas. La comida era excelente y bien preparado y muy bien de precio. El lugar es muy tranquilo y bastante bueno viejo pub país sin tener que salir de Coventry. El personal es muy amable.

Durante los años que he estado aquí muchas veces para almorzar con compañeros de trabajo y puedo decir honestamente que la calidad de la comida es siempre excepcional. Ha sido consistente durante los últimos años, y he estado aquí un par de veces durante muchos años, nunca ha modificado en calidad. La ventaja para mí es que son las patatas fritas caseras y no la basura. Algunos de ellos congelados Yo recomendaría este hotel como un lugar para el almuerzo y la cena. Personal de calidad. La comida es siempre amable y servicial.

Went about 9.30 in the evening with friends after a portable amateur radio contest, which can be thirsty work. An enjoyable occasion in pleasing surroundings. A very busy pub obviously with its many regulars. Busy speaks volumes, they must be getting it right.

Nos encanta estar aquí, la comida siempre es de buena calidad, el personal es encantador y sus precios razonables, así que nunca he tenido una mala comida aquí, es siempre constante.

Fuimos para el almuerzo el Jueves como parte de mi encuesta pub. Mi esposa y yo tuvimos pastel de carne con cerveza con una parte lateral de hongos entre nosotros. La comida era muy buena, con precioso sobre el hojaldre de carne y setas eran el tipo taza abierta, que era muy agradable. El menú es un poco limitado para todo con estilo patatas fritas, pero sabroso. Tenían una bomba de mano and bitters" de barril que me gustó.

La comida es muy buena y a un precio razonable. El servicio y el personal es de un estándar muy alto. Me hicieron sentir muy bienvenido y tratado bien.

Un pequeño pub personal muy amable y disfrutamos de nuestras comidas debe ir al pub. El barco es un poco alejado pero bien vale la pena buscar

Dirty, bug infected and full of old drunks, If the cleanliness of the bar area is any reflection of the standards set in the kitchen i would suggest this place be avoided at all costs. The boat has all the ambiance of a morgue, on a slow day, and an approach to customer satisfaction that only Basil Fawlty could be proud off. If you are looking for a family friendly pub which offers a warm welcome and good food this isn't it.

Been twice to this pub ,first time eat here food was lovely,hot &lots of it. priced a little over near bye pubs,though worth it. Nice staff,clean toilets,needs more tables outside on the grassed area overall. A proper pub with good food ,nice staff. Would think it'd be lovely for Christmas fayre.

We visited for a lunchtime meal and were not disappointed. Great value and good portions. I had a ham baguette - this comes with side salad and lovely homemade chips. Hubby had the lamb shank with veg and potatoes and thoroughly enjoyed his meal. Great food at a great value.

The food was fresh and well worth the money! The potions are big! Staff friendlyOnly complaint is the small menu but I suppose that's show they make fresh yummy food keeping the menu small, how ever there is a variety so you'll ins something you like. Well worth a visit

The food was good the price was also good. Only issue was lack of space so get in early. I have been here a few times as a couple and family and we haven't had a bad meal yet. Enjoy

Went here on one Sunday afternoon and was lucky to get the last remains table. Went for a prawn cocktail starter which was big enough to share. For mains it was the roast beef. Staff are friendly and the roast dinner was fantastic. Beef cooked to perfection. I would advise calling and making a reservation, as this place gets full. I guess they have a good reputation for their meals.

The Service was very good. 3 of us had different mini french sticks. One gammon and mushroom v.g. this was ordered by a butcher. One steak and onions the quality was super. One BLT this was very tasty and full of great tasting bacon, The french sticks where loaded. The chips was hot and chunky, the salad fresh. The steak and ale pie was well received pasty good and again the chips was hot and chunky. The Beer was excelent. Will be coming back.

We visited the pub on Saturday evening early on it was pretty full but we decided to stay as we were very hungry. We both ordered cajun chicken melt OMG when it arrived we couldn't believe how big the portions were we both knew we wouldn't eat it all but we tucked inIt was a superb meal tasty well presented and served up quickly and by a very friendly young lady and the beer was as good as ever. I can recommend anyone eating there won't be disappointed and Karen is always so pleasant

Had a very lovely meal here today, 3 of us all had different meals and all were superb. The steak was tasty and cooked spot on and the Home made chips really made the meal, Scampi and Fish was also cooked perfectly. Fantastic home cooked food, staff really friendly, lovely traditional pub, a real little gem. Shall be returning to sample more from the menu, they even do smaller portions if required. Lovely and clean pub and a great pint to!!

...and very average food. I wouldn't waste your time... Apparently reviews have to have more than 100 characters but there isn't anything else to add except, maybe, that clientèle's average age is 80 - those that don't have tatoos that is.

I have dinner here with friends every time I go to England and always enjoy the meal. Relaxed atmosphere, good food reasonably priced.Nice outdoor area.

We have been going to this pub for years and it keeps getting better and better.Really good, quality home cooked food, homemade chips and huge portions. The beef and Guinness pie is the very best I have ever had. If you just fancy a snack, the baguettes are wonderful. Sunday lunches are great with fresh veg. Friendly helpful staff. Prices are very reasonable and they deserve their success, good luck to all at the Boat!

Just been to the Boat for Sunday lunch for my daughters birthday, If there is one fault with the meal it would be there was too much for us, there were 4 adults and 1 toddler and getting a small portion for the little one was no problem even though it wasn't on the menu, we had our meat plus 3 roast potatoes and Yorkshire pudding on our plate on top of that we got two trays of new potatoes and peas and two trays of carrots and cabbage also four gravy boats full of lovely thick gravy, we love our food even the veg and we couldn't finish it all. We will definitely be going back again and would recommend here to our friends.

Just had two sunday roasts one turkey and one beef, the service and food were brilliant, the portions were enourmous, will definately be going again.

I love the Boat Inn. It's very local too me and is one of the few remaining traditional pubs. The meals they serve are absolutely enormous and great value for money. I really hope this pub never changes

On first glance you may drive by. But don't!!!Great ambience is supplied by many local residents.The menu is limited, but supplies beautiful, fresh, well cooked food to your liking in huge portions!! Your eyes will bulge - as will your stomach !!My wife and I can't say strongly enough how much we love the surroundings, and the staff can't do enough for you. We regularly ask for different things from the menu and they always accommodate to the highest degree. Homemade chips too!!They also have a selection of real beers (with tasting options) to go with your food.Just the other day we changed the BLT to 3 rashers of bacon and 2 eggs and it was superb. This is such a hidden gem away from your 2 for a tenner microwave food and nasty corporate naff stuff. We feel bad telling you about it as we may be never get a table now Grrr. But credit where it's due...enjoy and book early!
