Sky Blue Tavern in Coventry

Visited yesterday for the first time and had th chicken tikka loaded naan. Just about warm enough to eat but disappointing as not particularly tasty. Staff did offer to reheat it but I didn't want it microwaved. The place has a great atmosphere and I will give it another go to see if it was just a one-off experience.

Great service friendly staff food was Top notch and large portions - Fish Pakora starter very large portions to what I am generally use to. Beer was reasonably priced. We will defiantly return.

Have eaten in the restaurant twice now and the food and atmosphere is fab , service is on point too and today had a delivery and the food is absolutely delicious 😋 ordered and delivered within 30 mins !

Lived nearby for years but only went here for the first time last week and annoyed I didn't know about this sooner haha. The food is delicious and very affordable. The portion sizes are generous. I got the paneer tikka loaded naan and it filled me right up. My partner got biryani and said it was delicious and slightly spicy.

A lot quicker than I expected on a Saturday night

Do not order loaded tikka chips. Chips were all soggy and wet with all the sauce from chicken. And they served it in cardboard so chips tasted weird. I’ve had the same dish in the restaurant and it was ten times better.

Salad warm , nan bread decent, chips and curry lacking in Flavour. Give the mix grill 7/10 chicken was dry.

excellent food, really delicious, plenty of it. just missing the salad with the sizzler. but would definately order again.

We spend many a pre-match morning at the Tavern and absolutely love it there. Fantastic Sky Blue themed decor, great staff, amazing food. All round just a fantastic place. After leaving our Christmas plans until the last minute this year we decided to be a bit unconventional and go to the Tavern Christmas Day, we did not regret it! The food was fantastic, four courses, starters as big as mains, and an amazing home made Desi curry and desert. That and a glass of mulled wine on arrival. The value for money was unbelievable, especially on Christmas Day. The staff were fantastic as per, we didn’t have to go to the bar once as they bought all our drinks to the table. The team was so accommodating too, setting up the managers office solely for our party which was a really nice touch. Thank you so much to to whole team, this will not be our last Christmas Day visit!

Reservamos una mesa para NYE en línea, nos llevaron a una mesa, pero luego cuestionamos nuestra reserva y llevado de vuelta al bar, resulta que nadie había puesto señalización en el asiento, no es gran cosa. Me senté durante 10 minutos y me di cuenta de la necesidad de volver al bar como no hay servicio de mesa para las bebidas, ¿por qué no te dicen? me senté durante otros 15 minutos esperando a que alguien reciba nuestro pedido de comida, nada, pero podía ver a bastantes empleados que parecía que REALMENTE no querían estar allí! De todos modos déjalo media hora, mi marido vuelve al bar para preguntar si alguien puede servirnos, dijo que conseguirá que alguien supere... nada. Al final voy al till & tap a alguien en el hombro, no hay disculpa no tanto como una sonrisa, ¡caramba! Sé que probablemente nadie quiere trabajar SÍ pero es lo que haces que sea seguro? De todos modos la comida era rápida, caliente y sabrosa, así que felicita al chef! Y el último caballero que vimos con STAFF escrito en su parte superior, era muy amable. Nos dimos cuenta de que llegó una fiesta que parecía llamar la atención de inmediato, no voy a decir más sobre eso... para resumir, si reemplazas algunos de esos servidores miserables no verbales con personas que realmente quieren estar allí, será un pequeño lugar que se resquebrajará pero desafortunadamente no regresaremos.

Booked for Christmas Day for twelve people. The staff went above and beyond to provide us with a fantastic experience, great food, super friendly staff and brilliant service.and to make it even better, the tavern had set a table up outside to provide free meals to homeless people or people in need. I love this place. £35 for a four course meal with a complimentary drink on Christmas Day!! Bargain.

La comida estaba en el lugar, tuvimos un problema en una de nuestras comidas, sin embargo, al plantear dicho problema el gerente Clark fue muy servicial y compensó dicho error. No podía darle a la comida ninguna gran relación calidad-precio. Personal muy comprensivo, buena comida y en general una experiencia agradable.

Tried for over an hour to place an order for collection, calls go through to an office and the office say they’ll get someone in the resturaunt to phone you and they never did. After waiting over an hour ended up having to order from somewhere else.

Ordered food through uber eats . The curry was too oily , had blot the oil out before eating . Taste was good. Tikka was so red , felt like colours are added . Sides were great . I might order again , only selective items

didn’t arrive till 3 hours after ordered driver never arrived at the restaurant no contact from anyone , called them and advised had only just been packaged up but what I received was stone cold,so the dry food was soggy, such a shame

Had a Chicken Tikka Masala, Rice and garlic naan here, one of the best in Coventry, very flavoursome and very fresh.

Food was nice but had burger sauce on the chicken burger instead of mayonnaise.

Just wanted to show this place some support as the effort made for the decor and excellent food and service needs mentioning. Prices and portions were just about right. Would recommend this place especially if you like football and a more bar themed style restaurant. 👍 From us.

Visiting from out of town and stumbled across this pub. Cosy atmosphere, lovely staff and delicious food. The food’s so good I’ve come two nights in a row. Looking forward to coming back next time I visit.

Forgot poppadoms and food was cold mint sauce was very spicy not normally that spicy

Went here for a birthday celebration for my son, it was busy being a Friday night but staff had opened upstairs for us. Food came quickly (party of 16) and was all spot on. The service from the staff was exceptional. Thank you.

Esta fue la segunda vez que hemos estado aquí y la primera experiencia fue genial y la comida era increíble, así que estaba realmente deseando la segunda visita, pero nos fuimos amargamente decepcionados e inseguros de que volveremos. Dimos nuestra orden y en unos tres minutos nuestros entrantes popadoms y encurtidos llegaron todos juntos antes de nuestras bebidas. Había pedido gambas Tandoori King y a casi £ 7 se sorprendió al recibir 3 gambas y un poco de ensalada flácida. Acabábamos de empezar a comer cuando la camarera vino y dijo que te gustaría la red eléctrica, que obviamente no lo hicimos, ya que ni siquiera habíamos terminado nuestro entrante y todavía no hay bebidas. Las bebidas llegaron eventualmente cuando estábamos terminando el entrante. La camarera recogió los platos y una vez más nos preguntó si nos gustaría nuestro principal que pedimos un descanso de 10 minutos. Vino la red y mi esposo había pedido un pollo bhuna y masala y yo pedí el chisporroteo de pollo Tandoori. El curry era un marrón y definitivamente no una bhuna y las papas masala eran rojas grasientas y muy empapadas. Mi chisporroteo las cebollas estaban crudas debajo del pollo y el pollo era muy salado muy picante y muy seco. Con todo, como dije en la rogando una visita realmente decepcionante y muy apresurado.

First time here and got to say the food is magnificent.. We had the starters chicken tikka. Shesh Kebab. And meat samosas there were delicious. Mains we had pub classics again great food.. Can't wait to come back and try the Indian food..

Ordered online and phoned to ask to add mushrooms and garlic. Realised the wrong order had gone through and the owner offered to send a garlic and mushroom rice without any issue. Excellent customer service. Food was really graeat !

Great vibe inside and love the concept of the individual booths with their own screens. Extensive beer selection and great atmosphere too. Love the indian menu too, wings and chops were very tasty and a great thali selection too. Kebabs were also epic.

As sports bars go it was OK. Plenty of TV's and a good atmosphere, but not somewhere you'd go for a romantic evening! The food and drinks were very good value and the service was excellent. We would go again👍

First time visit.. quirky interior, really interesting. Good was no lie superb. Best curry I've tasted! Staff were super friendly. All in all a fantastic first visit will definitely be back

Llegó después del partido de Cov con unos amigos. Reservamos el stand de Mo Konjic. Pedí una parrilla grande mixta un par de currys y algunos lados. La comida era increíble la parrilla mixta es la mejor que he tenido en cualquier lugar tan sabroso. Nos quedamos a ver la pelea de AJ Dubois después. Gran ambiente cervezas decentes y todos tuvimos una noche alegre

Went for a "comedy" evening, but dined downstairs first. Food was excellent and served efficiently. Prices were good. Nice booths which feel private and allow chatting without too much distraction from the noise of other guests. The "comedy" was upstairs in a function room, nice room, well laid out and a small bar. Reasonable drinks range, slightly disappointing no ales were available. The show itself was awful and we left half way through and went back downstairs to finish our evening. Millennials and Gen Z do not get comedy. Few laughs from the audience, none from our table. Shame for those trying but really need to up their game. Overall though we enjoyed the meal and drinks and the tavern.

Cannot believe I've never been there before, excellent food, vast inexpensive menu, good range of drinks on tap plus the bonus of Dhillons Brewery own products, best Sports bar /Resturant in Coventry the Official Sky Blue Bar fully decorated to support Coventry City Football Club a must for fans. Just off the ring road island heading towards Spon End cannot miss it.

A genuinely brilliant layout and decoration. TVs up the wazoo, one for every booth, a projector picture with stalls so would be interesting to come on match day. Interested to come back in different circumstances. First on a match day, second just to try out an interesting menu. Ultimately though... 5 stars for the £3 pints of relatively consumable lager. Will become a fixture on future Coventry bar crawls

The food was very good and the drink was reasonably priced. We like it because it is one of the few places you can get Indian food before 5 pm . The only downside is parking in this area of Coventry.

I feel that I was purposely lead astray. Very upset to be honest!!!! Upset that it's everything but what I was told.... *Venue.- Amazing. 2 floors etc *Food.- I'd absolutely eat here again! *Drink.- Cannot express how cheap drinks are!!! * Perfect place to chill with friends when you're broke. *Perfect place to chill with friends when you're trying to save money. *Perfect place to enjoy LIVE sports, meet women on ones level, and just be yourself with "less obligations🤣" I recommend!!!! I'm not ashamed to say that I expected very little about this place and had preconceptions that were wildly wrong! The staff, atmosphere and food were all amazing. Service was excellent especially the lady who ensured I had more salad so thank you. My husband's lamb balti was succulent, tasty and authentic. My tikka naan was delicious and my stepson's nuggets were perfect especially for £1! Will definitely visit again and recommend to all. Can't believe that I was so wrong about this place. Highly recommended!

Great place to eat the food was delicious cant wait to come again. They have really good prices for food and drink. The interior has been well designed great place to come and watch the football!

Second time we have had a meal here and we can't fault the food at all. The only gripe we have is the fact that they send the plates out before the meal, we prefer the plates coming out hot as it helps to keep the food warm as we are eating.

First time in here. I immediately felt comfortable. The atmosphere was amazing. Food was quick out and delicious. Would highly recommend this pub and will frequent when next in the area.

I order from them via deliveroo and the food is awesome. The one time our deliveroo person mixed our orders, they were very accommodating.

Usually the service is really good but the delivery person didn't follow instructions and left my food with reception and the woman I talked to over the phone was MEGA rude! Never ordering from here again.

One of the worst Indian food experiences. The dal and curry were tasteless and filled with oil. The naans were undercooked and thick. Please avoid if you are looking for authentic vegetarian Indian food.

A little gem of a place in the city centre.. also good if your a fan of all sports

ordered curry and rice but the rice never came. ordered a cheese bacon burger which was meant to have mayo on it but it had a black sticky tar-like sauce on that was disgusting...kind of vinegary. tried to scrape it off but it had soaked into the bun.

I have a few things that wasn't the best... when making a reservation you can pick where you would like to sit, that was a waste of time because I didn't get yhe seat I asked for.. The food came really quick I was abit over whelmed usually ime use yo getting my starter of poppadoms 1st while I waited but after sitting fir 5 mins everything came to the table together. Considering the sizzler is there signature dish and what we was told to try I wasn't impressed. The skillet wasn't sizzling I could put my fingers on it as the picture shows the onions stayed raw but the chicken was tasty and it melted in your mouth personally disappointed with that.. we also had chicken tikka masala that was amazing I really enjoyed the curry, there was more than enough rice aswell in 1 portion for two people to share.. I will go again it was a great place not expensive but I will stick to the curry

Brilliant. Visited on opening day. Sky Blues fans will love it. Full of pictures, memorabilia, shirts etc. Big screen tv's. Will be packed on match days.

Just had our first takeaway curry from Sky Blue Tavern - a little bit more pricey than our usual takeaway but the food was amazing, portions great and delivery on time (Deliveroo) - will deffo be using SBT in the future 👍

Came for food on Friday evening and was really impressed. Our table was ready when we got there and service at the bar was quick. The food was excellent and the mixed grill portions were really good. Will definitely visit again. Great place to eat and watch the football with so many screens.

We had our daughters 18th at Sky Blue Tavern on Saturday evening and I can’t recommend this venue enough. From the moment we first enquired Dave was so helpful keeping in touch with us and updating us on a regular basis when we thought we may have to move the date due to the cup match. Although we decided to do the catering ourselves the offers on the menus available were fabulous and I can only comment on the smell downstairs which smelt incredible. Needless to say we will be trying the food there very soon. The staff behind the bar were friendly, helpful and quick and although we were a little worried we wouldn’t clear the target for the room hire we smashed it. Thank you everyone at Sky Blue Tavern we will be back 😀

Orderd from here today, the first time. We was really impressed with the curry, we had a paneer and chicken jalfraze. The egg fried rice was delicious too. Will definitely order from here again.

Been a few times now in the afternoon and never disappointed. Meals are great value for money and staff always cheerful. I would imagine the atmosphere is fantastic on a match day 😊

I ordered a prawn tika masala and the prawns were over cooked then I found a piece of chicken in my curry. I’m a pescatarian! Not pleased

My partner and I had our first meal here last Thursday and what a fantastic experience it was the food is top class we had the mixed grill to share just beautiful and we can’t wait to come back we were recommended by my son luke

Best mixed grill ive had...was beautiful...shared the large and we had 2 take some home was plenty there. Poppadoms, mega grill and chips, 2 cocktails 40 quid....bargain. Defo be back soon.

Incinerated lamb chops, bone dry tasteless chicken tikka, and nans so dry they fell apart when folded. The draught Peroni beer is definitely not Peroni.

Police turned up & made an arrest from the site. Hooligans decided to shout abuse at the police on the balcony just because they could.

We hosted my husbands 30th birthday party in the upstairs function room and it was absolutely fantastic from start to finish! Dave was really accommodating and answered all our queries to ensure we had the best night possible. The food was great and all staff members were brilliant. Would definitely recommend the tavern!

The food is delicious, but I have to say the portion sizes are a bit extreme for the prices-Have a word management!!!

Sky blue tavern has not only gone down hill it’s in the ditch!! Food was appalling, part boiled and burnt lamb chops, if you can call them lamb chops as the lamb was incinerated or non existent!! They bought my whole meal popadoms, starters and mains in go! Well almost waited around five mins between dishes started with the chops, popadoms, curry then nann bread. Didn’t look like the staff had any idea how to run a restaurant floor. Managers look lost!! Also no need to have rocket in the salad!!!
