Unfortunately, we had terrible service today 10/11/24. Waited over an hour for our drinks, asked for them 3 times but ignored. Eventually when someone finally we got our drinks after we had finished our food. One meal arrived and as it was being eaten a big hair was found, meal returned and refunded but no acknowledgement of the terrible service or apology. Won't be returning.

Great service but unfortunately let down by the food, my wife had the tandoori sizzler which wasn't a sizzler, peppers and onions looked like they had been boiled, sauces were missing as well, sent it back and got a fresh one, I had the lamb kofta flatbread and the meat was like cardboard. Very disappointing.

Had a nice meal and received great service from Danielle

Popped in to join a family gathering, without warning as a surprise. Jemma, dropped everything and dealt with our request to join their table whilst dealing with everything else. Everything was great and going back for Sunday lunch next week. Hopefully Jemma will be there!

Came for a meal with my daughter. The food was lovely. Nice friendly, family orientated pub/restaurant. The service I received was greatly appreciated, i was served by a waitress called Danielle. She was friendly, chatty and very smiley which you like in a very busy established.

Went to eat and watch the football! Some old men held the remote and staff were scared to ask for it !! Eventually asked and they said no , so we left and couldn’t go back to our local as these men are in every week dictating to the staff ! Gutted we now have to find somewhere else

I recently visited mount pleasant, had a pleasant experience. The service provided by Jemma was excellent—she was attentive and friendly. The food was prepared by Chef Ian, and it was delicious, cooked to perfection. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, making it a great place to relax and enjoy a meal. Overall, I would recommend Mount Pleasant for anyone looking for good food and friendly service. I’ll definitely be coming back!

Nice atmosphere food was fantastic, staff was nice especially jemma Warren she was very lovey and kind makes you feel very welcome there she did.

Ate here this week and Pleasantly surprised under new management the place is looking so clean and tidy staff are alot more Assertive and food came out quickly with all items and very hot my Waitress was called sarah and honestly couldn't do enough for us she made us feel so welcome and we will definitely be back 😀

Visited for lunch with friends today (fri 23/10) We were all impressed with the service, friendliness of staff & the quality of food from the classics menu. My wife enjoyed the fish & said it was beautifully cooked (thank you chef White). I had a proper pie i.e. it had a bottom & not the usual puff pastry top served in other places. Thank you & we will definitely be back

Had a breakfast there, absolutely beautiful.

Usually visit 2 or 3 times a week for a pint or two.Today I visited early morning for a full english breakfast,was greeted by the ever cheerful Jemma who quickly took my order and a little later brought my meal.It was really nice tasty and hot.Place seemed clean and tidy I enjoyed my visit.

Very nice food a well cooked steak sizzler. They always seem to be out of sauvingon blanc though but a nice glass of red instead. We go probably once a month and have never had a bad meal and if there is going to be a food delay they do tell you at the point of order. The bar can be a bit slow at times but the staff are friendly.

We popped in before we made the long journey back to Norfolk after seeing friends. We were recommend to come here and we were not disappointed. Had an enjoyable meal and we were served by Jemma who was a pleasure to be with. Made a real effort to engage us especially with our daughter. Thank You for a nice experience.

Been here several times for breakfast, mega breakfast cannot fault it. Very clean not greasy all top ingredients not cheap sausages. Chef deserves credit.

Went to visit mt pleasant for my birthday today, was served by Taylor at the till and Gemma brought our food to the table .. very polite and great service. I had the mix it up menu which was chicken skewers, sweet potatoes chips and salad absolutely delicious 😋 and my husband had the steak and ale pie 😋 we also had a pudding which was sticky toffee and custard ( my favourite) all the food was lovely , very hot and delicious.. thank you to the chef who i believe was miss Rice today 🤩

We particularly love the classic deal: two meals for £11.99, and we can’t resist grabbing our favourite non-alcoholic Kopparberg strawberry and lime, two for just £6! Alisha’s service is second to none. She’s always got a smile on her face, cheerful and welcoming, and even remembers our orders from the day before. It’s those little touches that make a difference. The rest of the staff, including the manager, have also gone above and beyond to make sure we feel welcome. They’ve checked in on us regularly, even today when we were seated near a lively birthday group. Honestly, the extra buzz just added to the atmosphere! What really sets this place apart is the warmth and friendliness of the staff. The food has been great, plenty to choose from, being served within 13 minutes, up to 20 minutes. What a pleasure Jemma was! Such a helpful lady, very kind and great without children. My wife has an allergy to gluten so Jemma was very understanding and explained everything that she could eat. Service with a smile indeed. She’s the reason we will be returning soon!

Popped in for breakfast which my mum. On arrival the place was busy, but a friendly smile and ‘I’ll be with you in a minute’ from Paige was the warmest welcome. Paige went above and beyond listening to our order and making amendments where possible, such as providing an extra mug of hot water because the tea was a little strong in the smaller cups. Great start to the day, thanks Paige keep being you! ☺️

Came in recently for food with the family and the service we received was impeccable couldn't fault the staff, the ones that stood out for us was Paige, Lauren and jemma they all went above and before for us. Also compliments to the chefs oggy, tertia and Mathew food was amazing. Definitely recommend

A regular 7 nights a week, popping in for last orders, I get served by various staff, who are all welcoming and polite, these include Lauren, paige, jemma, tayla, michael, alisha, sara, and any others that cover the close..

Usually you know what you are getting with a hungry horse. Good food at a reasonable price. This visit we were surprised. The good food and reasonable prices was true however the service and attention we were given was amazing. We could not have asked for a better host for our table, Jemma was fantastic. She made us all feel welcome, she fulfilled everything we asked of her and she gave us good advice on what to order. With places like Hungry horse we all know it's the staff and the atmosphere that makes it worthwhile and food is just to fill a hole. Thank you Jemma. Pudding!!!

Order at the bar and get your own cutlery, therefore a 4. But who cares when the food is really tasty and the price is so low! Definitely recommended!

Half hour wait for food Had chickpea curry the sweet potatoe in it tasted undercooked. Not many staff around on the day we went. Couldn't have wine in wine glass because they were non left all being used aparently. Pudding of chocolate fudge and ice cream was nice.

Booked table for lunchtime Wednesday 21st August for 9 people. Table was ready and waiting, very pleasant and friendly staff behind the bar and on the floor. Large drinks and large food orders, everything came together all cooked fresh to order, cannot praise the girls enough they worked so hard. It was very busy . every time we went for more drinks they knew what we were having, we had a great 3 hours 9 family members having a get together, will definately book this venue again, Thankyou so much Jamie and Chloe for all your hard work. Always very pleasant and helpful.

Food was very poor. We have eaten here a few times and this was by far the worst. My partners mash was dark yellow and so small. Gravy still had granule lumps in it. My salt and pepper seasoning was dumped on top of food in mounds. Katau sauce was congealed and had dark skin on. Beer was fine. Service at bar fine. Waitress just dumped plates in front of us with no cutlery or checking we wanted sauces. Not that much cheaper than two pubs up the road where everything home cooked on sat or not with an offer. Will not eat at this Hungry Horse again.

I had an all day breakfast , it was awful. Not worth the money. A desert spoon of beans that were all dried up. I’ve never seen such a small egg that was under cooked. Bread so dry even when I put the butter on it was still dry. I won’t be using this place again.

Went out for a nice cheap pub meal. Fantastic and tasty food, great staff, nothing is ever too much trouble for them, lovely restaurant with a warm and friendly feeling. Would return!

Great food, we had fish and chips and the beef lasagne, could not fault either, had the chocolate cake for dessert which was also nice. Make sure you sign your car reg into the machine on arrival.. maybe a few more signs would be helpful for your customers.

Quite possibly one of the worst places I have visited in a long while. It was a Monday evening and half the restaurant space was ‘closed’ with chairs obstructing the walkways despite almost every other table being occupied. Any tables that were not occupied closely resembled a jenga tower of dirty plates despite a plethora of staff hanging around. The staff were rude when taking drink and food orders and the food was below average. Definitely one to avoid!

came here for mums birthday meal . got sat on a table what still had crumbs on. menus were sticky. lots of tables around us still had empty plates on where no one was sitting at (it wasn’t very busy at this time). got there at 3:15 and left at 4:50. took 20 minutes for drinks to come to the table. ordered 4 mains and two puddings. mains came fast and tasted very well for then the plates to of taken a while to be taken away and then took another 30 minutes for two puddings to arrive and when asked how much longer it was going to be no one could really come up with an excuse. mains themselves were really good just really disappointed with wait times for us to even have a drink at the start and 30 minutes for puddings which the birthday girl couldn’t even be bothered to eat anymore. she really likes coming to this place so i wanted to treat her for her birthday but was just disappointed in the end. probably won’t bother again.

I didn't think too much about this place

What has happened to the chef? Have they been sacked because whoever is there right now is doing an amazing job of destroying simple cooking. New menu and it was better the way it was before. We have had cremated salmon, chicken the size of a pigeon and chips that could be described as mahogany as they were overcooked. Not a nice experience.

Ordered chicken skewers, and got southern fried, wife ordered steak medium to well ,and after an hour plus came out cremated, this sending back , and after 20 minutes said we were going, forget it, take steak off bill, not up to normal standards, then on way out just gone 8 o’clock, met family of 7 just been told we are not taking any more food orders, they were very disappointed, you could not make it up , this is not there usual, but who ever was in charge , and running the pub , on Saturday , you need to step up, not good enough disappointed 😢

Attended Saturday 06 July 2024 served by Jay, excellent food I was a part of group booking, so impressed we have booked again for 18th July 2024.

It was ok, food wasn't terribly cheap even though the restaurant itself was cheap looking and cramped but we were fed at the end of it. There were a lot of reservations which weren't fulfilled so walking in we didn't get priority, that was the most annoying thing as I have a bad back and it would have been nice to sit at a booth bench where it's comfy

We were welcomed by friendly team members who were happy to serve us with a massive smile. The manager was there to help us throughout our visit today. Thank you Suzi and all the team.

Always a delicious meal here. With friendly welcoming staff. In particular the GM Suzie - really pleasant helpful lady. My mum and I visit every couple of months for our treat meal out. The Gammon is amazing, best around… definitely recommend!

I came in here for the first time and was surprised by the level of rudeness that was given by the manager . She refused to serve me after already serving me 2 pints as I didn’t have id on me . Then refused a refund or swap for another drink . I will not be going here again . Poor service .

Great food and great service and large portions

Waited 30-40 mins for food, which arrived as everyone else in my group had just finished their meals (which had been ordered at exactly the same time). I even went to the bar to after 20mins to ask if my order was on the way had been forgotten, but was told that it was on its way. Although the manageress reimbursed me, I was really disappointed with the overall poor attitude and service from the staff. No one in my group will be returning to this venue. I would strongly recommend going elsewhere and avoiding this place.
