Being a bit of a Sunday roast connoisseur I’d heard good things about this pubs Sunday roasts! Booked it up (recommended) and had the three meat roast! Way too much for me BUT oh my god was it delicious. The meat was melt in mouth, Roasted potatoes just right, all homemade and with the biggest Yorkshire pudding I’ve had. The gravy stole the show, it was delicious and I’d love to know how they made it taste sooooo good! 10/10 (my first ever) I’ll be back for sure!

We visited the Boar's Head Inn at Crowborough today (19/6/24) for a Wake following the funeral of a dear friend. We were absolutely amazed at the wonderful spread that was provided. Both hot and cold food. Well presented and attentive service. Excellent! We have visited for lunch meals on a couple of past occasions and have always been impressed by the variety and quality of the food. Thankyou.

Excellent food in this lovely pub. I had cold fish platter which consisted of loads of smoked salmon, prawn cocktail and a generous tub ov mackerel pate and salads and bread. Delicious and well presented. The menu had lots of unusual choices. Definitely worth a visit.

This is what I call a proper pub selling proper pub food. This was the first time we have eaten at the Boars Head… my husband had a chicken pie from the specials board and I had the fish pie from the menu…. I have to say it was the best fish pie I have ever eaten with plenty of fish inside and lovely vegetables on the side, it was a decent size ( I couldn’t eat it all ) The pie looked really lovely with plenty of filling. Also a plus for me was the food was piping hot. The staff were very friendly and made us feel welcome , also Olive the dog was very friendly 😊 We will definitely be back, Thankyou

Had a very good lunch here with a friend. My Fishermans Pie was excellent and my friend enjoyed her cold meat platter. The staff were a good combination of being friendly yet efficient. This is a good traditional pub where you can come for a beer and a natter with like minded people or dine. We were in the bar with a great atmosphere although it was a bit noisy and difficult to hear ourselves! The restaurant has amazing views and is more peaceful. Will come again.

Poor value for money. I chose the vegan tagine and was very disappointed to find just a couple of lumps of squash in a sauce with a small portion of rice. My friend's starter was way larger and more appetising than this main dish. Very...

Been here a few times now, and always been very good. But disappointing this time. Nothing wrong with the food we had at all. But the menu now is so basic. No steak, lamb or pork dishes. Just your standard pub food, fish and chips,...

After making a reservation advising two vegans were coming was happy to be told three vegan options available . Unfortunately only one dish homemade and on asking for coffee no alternative milk so not really vegan friendly!

The place is dirty, disorganised and basically smelly. The alarm sounded when we saw the sticky menu which was basically an out of the freezer menu. The food was awful like going back to the 1970s. Not sure if the ‘cook’ knows anything about presentation...

We were sadly disappointed by the food at this picturesque pub. It was the sort of stuff you could buy from a cheap supermarket, straight from freezer to fryer to plate and even then a bit soggy and over cooked. Nothing like the home cooked food you might expect from a country pub. Won't be back ...

Wanted a quick pub lunch. Ordered lasagna and Ham, egg and chips.Lasagna was dry, rubbery pasta and had to be sent back, also ham was 'way past fresh.Very low quality food, not fresh, re heated rubbish....... which would be OK for £5 a meal (you get what you pay for). But £9.95 per meal above, is ridiculous.A huge shame, as it looks a loverly country pub and I (wrongly) assumed, that being a bit 'out of the way, people would have to travel to it, so the food would be good and draw people in (as other pubs in the area do).How wrong I was! A great shame

This pub is run by very nice people and has the most distinctive pub atmosphere in Sussex. The low ceilings and the old big fireplace make this place very charming. Traditional pub food, with occasional specials that are very good. The best pub in sussex for a nice pint of Harveys.

Dreadful menu and terrible service. Menu was limited to say the least and they didn’t have what I wanted. Had breakfast there this morning and couldn’t have poached eggs only fried, reason being ‘we only have 1 chef’ ……a chef who can’t poach eggs!!!!
