We were told this pub was the roughest in Lancaster. So of course it was a 'must try' for us. Let me tell you, this pub is a bit dated, but it's a great little pub. The landlady was very chatty and made us feel extremely welcome. The locals were friendly and it had a nice atmosphere. So don't judge this pub based on others views, we really liked it and will definitely back on our next visit.

Great spot for a first date. It serves a great range of wine and cocktails and is comfy but not oppressive - you can either mingle with friendly locals or others on equally romantic missions or you can snuggle up in a quiet corner and soak in the nice, friendly atmosphere. Jukebox has a range of decent tunes to enjoy as well - we went in for one and stayed until close. Reasonably priced as well - particularly for a city centre pub with a premium offering.

Me and the girls went here after The White Cross, seeking a more affordable quaff. The pub was very busy for a Tuesday afternoon and our Carlings were served with a flourish from the barman. We got in conversation with some of the regulars there who were really friendly and showed us how to play pool - particularly the angles when bending over the table and the best grip on their shaft. We stayed for 6 drinks in total, which was less then £20 A fantastic pub

My twin brother Stephen and I were pub hopping around this part of town when we chanced upon The Boars Head Pub and what a great find. Walking in and I knew I would enjoy my visit here, the interior is superb,a solid wood serving bar dominates the main room, pubby decor and furnishings ,tv's to enjoy the sport and plenty of seating options spread throughout this pub,all in all a very cosy pub indeed. We were here on a Wednesday night, pub was busy with a great atmosphere ,we ordered a lager each, these were served in excellent condition being iced cold and sparkling ,we just kicked back and soaked up the great vibe in this busy and popular pub. I must say the beer served here was good,we chose a carling lager ,so thirst quenching,it was just so good being in such a lovely pub enjoying an iced cold beer. We moved on after our beers, only stayed for the one each before we moved on and for a first time visit we were totally impressed with this pub. The Boars Head Pub is easy to locate along North John Street,a wonderful pub, most certainly well worth checking out if your in the area.

We called Thursday lunchtime as we where turned away from a close by rival restaurant being full. I am so pleased we called at the Lunesdale, and would definitely return. The service/ staff were so friendly and efficient in their service, the food was first class and plentiful. This is definitely a place for special occasions, but lovely for just a treat. The menu had a mixture of choices and I am sure you won't be disappointed. I had the chicken and chorizo tagliatelle which was amazing, my wife had the seafood linguini which she loved.
