The Boardwalk Bar & Dining in South Derbyshire

Had to just make this post. Was greeted my the most two loveliest bar staff ever, Charlotte & Hannah I believe they were called. Had to just share this pint of Guinness and black I was served. You ladies give Banksy a run for his money. Highly delightful evening. Will definitely be calling time again x

Wow! The waitress Dav and the bar lady were fantastic, and I must say, the chef deserves huge compliments for making the most amazing onion rings!

Had the beefburger and chips, burger great, chips looked like left overs, just warm, friend had fish and chips, chunky they looked just fried fresh, just hope they throw left overs away

ABBA tribute night with Tapas, 31/08/24 From start to finish the evening was amazing. Entertainment, fantastic interaction with the 2 girls and the diners. Food, Greek tapas, such lovely tastes in each dish, hot and plentiful. Staff, Charlotte and the girls did an amazing job, with a smile, nothing was too much trouble. Can’t wait till the next one. We went to the ABBA and Tapas night last night with friends, food was excellent, Greek style tapas which we all enjoyed, topped with live ABBA. Atmosphere and service were excellent as always, looking forward to the next event!

Me and my partner came for some light lunch at the boardwalk, and what an experience it was! We were served by a lovely waitress called Charlotte, who went above and beyond for us, she knew the menu very well and advised us on some beautiful dishes! I had the pasta al Norma, and this dish was incredible! But there was so much to choose from! Overall, I will definitely be back to try the tapas and would like to say a massive thank you to Charlotte for making our experience so good!

This weekend, myself and some friends decided to try the boardwalk, due to recommendation. We had a lovely time! When seated we were greeted by our waitress Charlotte, who informed us straight away of their Catch of day! Which sounded an amazing, if you like fish. We decided to go for some tapas, which was delicious! Although it being a little bit quiet in the restaurant the atmosphere was still there and we had the most beautiful view of the marina! Our drinks arrived promptly and the wait for food wasn’t too long at all. I would definitely recommend this restaurant, the food is brilliant as well as the staff!

Used to love this place but it has gone downhill big time poor waitress rushed of her feet food we ordered was barely warm yeh it’s a nice place to relax but do not expect anything nice won’t be going back

Lovely food and location - we tried a mixture of tapas which were very tasty with a nice choice of dishes and the other menu choices were plenty.

This is a great bar in a lovely location. Have been before and sat inside. This time it was a glorious sunny day so sat outside. We were told it would be a 40 minute wait but didn't mind as we were enjoying the sun. However we soon became too hot as most tables have no shade. Luckily someone moved and we were able to get under the edge of one of the parasols. In weather like this they really needed more parasols or awning. The food did come just under 40 minutes and was really tasty. We had the burger which was juicy with fresh salad. Also had the stesk and stilton open sandwich.I always worry about ordering steak in case its chewy but this was quality steak that was perfectly cooked so nice and soft. The stilton wasn't as strong as I would have liked but still nice. The one issue I have is that it said it came with a watercress salad. What it came with was Coriander garnish. I had no problem as I love Coriander but quite a lot of people don't. I really think if the menu specifies ingredients they should stick to that. If they have run out they should ask if its ok to replace with something else rather than just swapping it. The only other thing is its got a brunch menu and the table next to us had ordered avocado with 2 eggs. It came with one egg because they ran out but I didn't hear them offer a deduction off the bill. Overall if you go here you know it is quality food in a nice setting but it is on the expensive side.

Disappointing is the only way I can explain it. We had potatoes braves and king prawn tapas to share for a starter, old and little flavour. Main I had beef rib massaman, very little sauce and little flavour, sprinkling a few peanuts doesn’t make a massaman. My wife had ox cheek, which the menu said came with onions in horseradish but when arrived was just a piece of meat in a sticky sauce and a bowl of chips, which said were hand cut chunky but were more like fries. Didn’t have a sweet Did mention the above to waitress, who said would tell chef but it was obvious that she had no intention of !! After positive feedback you can understand why I thought it was a disappointing experience

Amazing Mother’s Day meal, there was a mix up with our booking and we were seated downstairs, the manager managed to move things around for us and got us upstairs. Friendly attentive service and great food the whole family enjoyed. Tables were laid up with flowers and mum even got a special gift. Will be returning.

What a fantastic Sunday roast we had here! The whole meal was beautifully cooked and, considering the quality, very reasonably priced. We’ll certainly be returning.

Very poor experience due to the fact that some .. not all barstaff completely ignore you. You are expected to ring a bell if the bars unstaffed ! Thought that was what you did in a hotel not a bar ! When I want to leave and pay the bill I don't want to see the bar staff I've just asked to then walk away and start serving other customers very rude. Seems like customers are very undervalued.

Came for mother’s day lunch in the upstairs area, the food was amazing, i had the beef and it was cooked just how like it! The 3 girls that were working were so pleasant and helpful! Will definitely be returning in the future! Thankyou

Visited on Saturday with friends, the environment was lovely, food was excellent and all staff were very pleasant and nothing was too much trouble. Would highly recommend. Lovely location and fabulous friendly feeling.

The place and staff are nice but we were disappointed to find you can book a table just for drinks. As we aren’t allowed to leave cars overnight, we are forced to either take taxis or a bus to get here only to find you have nowhere to sit. Personally I don’t want to arrive not knowing whether I’m going to have to stand up for the duration of our visit.

Just had 3 dishes off the new tapas menu! Wow best I've had. Lemon prawns, crispy chilli beef & teriyaki chicken were all 10 out of 10. Added the pork belly starter again 10 out of 10.

Came for the New Years Eve celebration with some friends. Food was absolutely amazing, friendly service and loved the live music from Gareth Humphreys! A really special night and a great way to see the new year through, thank you!
