The Blues Kitchen - Shoreditch in Hackney

Ist two visits all good as walk ins On our 3rd visit which was a booth booked visit for 14 people a birthday celebration, it was a bad experience, one particular staff member had a bad attitude after being asked why he had cleared our untouched drinks when cleaning the table after an accidental spilt drink. He proceed to tell the security to make us leave, on asking for the manager several times the manager said we should stay, however several times during the evening the staff said we had to vacate the booth as someone else wanted it even though we had paid for the use all evening and had confirmation. Our evening was totally spoilt and the atmosphere because of one staff person was awful. Doubt we would go here again there are other more accommodating venues with polite staff. Far too much happend to put it all here but it was a disappointment to.what should have been a nice evening celebration.

I celebrated my birthday here on 11th April, downstairs in the tequila bar and all of the staff were fantastic!!! They made me feel extra special all night! Thank you ❤️

Everything you want in a blues bar

Food was good, very busy however the AC unit leaked water onto our table and we had to move table onto the busy bar area

All round experience was excellent 👌 good food and great cocktails. Service was probably prompt and never left wanting service. Would recommend and definitely go again. The ox tail starter was amazing!! 🤩

Went here for the first time last week Saturday for a friend's birthday and it was great. We booked for the karaoke room and had a blast. Though we were late, we only got to experience half our time, but we were looked after well. A massive shout out to 'TILDA', babes you are a 🌟. Literally went above and beyond for our bill, though you didn't have to. It really made our night. We appreciate your efforts and your communication was on point. Also shout out to 'MATTHEW', who was our host for the night. Such a patient and polite guy. Definitely will come again, to experience more. The atmosphere was good, food was ok but only had the wings, bar looks amazing, music was sweet, the different rooms add a good touch to the place and the workers are nice, willing to help. Glad I came.

Mehn. I enjoyed everything about the blues kitchen. Expectional customer service.

Loved the industrial vibe and warm lighting. We shared a few small plates – buffalo wings, spinach dip – all super tasty. Service was fast and friendly too!

We anticipated that our table (5 ladies - we ordered snack, drinks) was going to be removed for the dance floor at some point. - they told us about this too This wasn't a problem for us at all, even if we were still finishing our drinks. So they took our table and stacked the chairs. But, they instantly replaced our table with a new table for a different group in the same area. Also, the tables beside us were not cleared out. It was just us. There were plenty of people seated and it was already 10:30pm. House rules are house rules. Just make sure you implement them fairly. 🤷‍♀️

Incredible atmosphere and even better food. The salmon was amazing, the mango sauce was juice, and the Passionfruit Zombie cocktail blew my mind. Definitely coming back soon.

A Shoreditch gem. Everything we ordered was packed with flavor – the blackened salmon especially. Plus, the staff really knows how to treat guests. 10/10!

A fantastic experience in Shoreditch. Steve has been the best through the night, the made us feel looked after and very comfortable! The great food and the unique atmosphere makes it one of our favourite spots in London!!

We went during karaoke night and had an absolute blast. The energy was amazing, and so was the food. Try the ox cheek nuggets – trust me! Steve was incredibile, perfect service! A perfect place for a Friday night with some life music and good food!

Been here a few times, it’s always nice. The food is GREAT! Fries are always lovely, the burger is tasty , the drinks aren’t too expensive and not watered down. They had this guacamole tortilla thing that was wonderful. The vibe is always great, it’s usually really good on a Friday night with the live music and everything . Super aesthetic inside as well. Indoor smoking area is great !

This is my second trip to London. The first time I stumbled upon Blues Kitchen in Shoreditch by chance and I couldn't help but return this time too. The atmosphere is fantastic, impeccable service. The staff is really welcoming and helpful. We managed to joke despite not knowing a word of English. Last time we came for dinner and there was live music. This time for lunch. We tried the new dishes on the menu: Brisket Dip and Crispy Chicken Sandwich. Exquisite!

Came for the lunch deal, they do £10 for a main! The food amazing, they were so attentive and friendly. I’ve been working in shorditch for two years always walked by never entered and I’m so glad I made the choice to enter today 100% will be returning. Also shout out the lovely young girl Saph made the experience even better.

The food was really good with lovely customer service. The chicken burger was the best burger i’ve ever tasted. Lovely service from Kandice, zadira and Jordan. The corn ribs were really nice too. Banging music too with a lovely atmosphere.

Came for dinner on Saturday and everything was delicious - the rum punch was insane, our waitress super helpful with allergies. I will be returning asap. Music on until 3am was a great touch. Thank you Blues Kitchen!

Second Blues Kitchen I've been to (after Brixton). Nice hidden spots here like the bar downstairs. Loved the band playing and the DJ was amazing

The music is always good. This place is per favore for dates, parents, birthdays…. you can never go wrong at blues. The only thing that they could improve would be the smoking area because it’s a lil room and it’s really overwhelming in there.

Really looked forward to going to this place as seen it so many times but always fully booked. They didn't really have loads in the menu but im sure the burgers are nice. Atmosphere was really good and I guess it's good vibes later in the night (after 10pm) when they play live music.

Sometimes words don’t quite do an experience justice. Tonight was one of those instances.

Good food, good service and great atmosphere. We had Saphiya as our main server, she explained thoroughly for any questions we had. Be warned the steak is NOT included in the bottomless brunch. I had the blackened salmon but I would actually recommend the shrimp sandwich and chicken burger instead if you want something filling while drinking cocktails. The rum punch was delicious and boozy not a fan of Prosecco so I can’t comment on the taste. + going down the stairs by where the washrooms there is a photo booth (£5) which was nice for memories. All in all will be planning another visit for a bottomless brunch.

Fun place to chill on a Sunday evening. They play this kinda music on Sundays which is different to Saturday but still quite fun. The toilets are very spacious! They also have 2 karaoke rooms which you have to book and playroom as well.

Blues Brothers certainly Shakes a Tail Feather !! I am in my 60s, my partner is very much younger so occasionally we go to loud bars and sometimes out for a relaxing meal somewhere. Last night we booked a 9.15 table for dinner and several drinks... and was delighted to get a table near the bar ... The atmosphere was lively and friendly, customers very well behaved and smart casual.. Staff were very friendly, attentive, efficient and polite... This was likely the busiest time of the night, there was a queue outside (so imperative to book), yet staff were easily on hand and extremely well trained ! Ok, I will show my age here... This was as close to 1990's New York or Chicago as is possible in London. The restaurant is superbly designed and has the MASSIVE advantage of acoustic ceilings throughout so crowd noise isnt oppressive and the music can be heard in detail throughout rather than just the oppressive mononous thumping experienced elsewhere! While we are on about the music, lets go into detail. The playlist was a mix of Blues, Jazz and Funk. Exciting buzz about the place ... Then a live band struck up on the other side of the bar,... I couldnt see much from our seats, but WOW! They were excellent !! The delicious Margueritas were served with an optional ( but vital ) salty rim and really hit the spot.. Lets talk food: Places like this usually concentrate on selling drinks and the food is passable at best ... BLUES KITCHEN BREAKS THE MOLD!! My partner had the TacoBowl salad with avocado and prawns. I had the Pork belly rib.... The salad looked amazing and came with fries... my pork was probably THE BEST PORK I have ever had outside Andalucia !! The softness, flavour, and sticky sauce were exceptional ( not fatty at all !) It came with slaw salad with fries as an extra. Portion sizes were generous and the cost was more than reasonable.. Service was attentive and a couple of times staff checked to see if everything was to our satisfaction...It certainly was !! Because we were a late booking, they didnt rush us away from the table and we were able to eat slowly and enjoy the cocktails, the music and the atmosphere... When staff cleared the table they suggested we slide along to the adjacent table and enjoy our drinks with a better view of the band ! Pricewise: I think the two meals with sides and 4 margueritas came to under £60... We also had marguerita while waiting for the table to be vacated... Around 11.30pm we decided to visit the Tequilla Bar downstairs.... AGAIN ! Amazing design and decor... very friendly bar staff and clientele. Superb !! 2 Shots each of their Cascabel Tequila Blanco and we were back on the street waiting for an Uber home. This was one of the best nights out in London for a very long time! Full marks to the chefs but the real award goes to the happy smiling and efficient staff, the number of staff and their training ! ... I am sure this will be a regular haunt for us... My husband loved it as much as I did !!

I visited this place for the first time on a Friday and was completely blown away by the ambiance, professionalism, and genuine enthusiasm of the staff. It’s rare to see a team that truly enjoys what they do, but it was evident here. Upon arrival, I had a drink at the bar while waiting for my table. A staff member quickly recognized me and guided me over, where Posey and Jordan took over and made the evening exceptional. They were attentive and responsive, and when our mains were delayed, they even offered a complimentary round of Old Fashioneds. Now, the food—absolutely incredible. The chicken wings are a must-try, and our mains and desserts were equally impressive. Cocktails were consistently great, and I can't wait to explore more of the menu. Whether for a date or a casual meetup, this place is top-tier. Well-run, with outstanding service and an atmosphere that keeps you coming back. Highly recommend!

I visited Blues Kitchen in Shoreditch recently, and while the atmosphere and music were fantastic, my experience was completely overshadowed by an incident with one of the security staff. While I was sober and simply trying to enjoy my night, I was physically shoved down a full flight of stairs by a security guard. The incident occurred when I was near the bottom of the stairs to the smoking area. I had just been allowed to go in front of a man trying to head up, and I thanked him as I went ahead. As I reached the top, this particular security guard – who had a dark beard and eyebrows, a buzz cut, and appeared white-passing – aggressively shoved me, sending me tumbling down the stairs. I was in complete shock and couldn’t fully defend myself in the moment. Several bystanders asked if I was okay, but the security guard was completely out of line, shouting at me with no explanation or justification for his actions. I did report the incident to the rest of the staff, and I must commend them. They were all very professional and kind, particularly the security staff at the front. The issue lies squarely with the aggressive individual who handled the situation poorly. I truly hope Blues Kitchen takes this matter seriously and addresses this behaviour, as it was completely unacceptable. Aside from this incident, I did enjoy the vibes, music, and the rest of the staff, but I certainly won’t be returning if this kind of aggression is allowed to continue.

The most horrible security I’ve ever met. Turned a friend away without even speaking to her but didn’t look twice at the men in the group. Not worth trying to get into. Average bar trying to make out it’s something more

Came here on my birthday with my girls. Absolutely loved it. Was very busy but the services and atmosphere was great. Our waitress was wonderful and we got our food and drinks really quickly but we wasn’t disappointed. Music was great . Would highly recommend and definitely will be coming again.

Food wasn’t great at all. I didn’t eat most of it. That said, our host Jordan was incredibly lovely and turned the night around. We had a different host prior who was just doing her job to be fair, but the service was rushed and didn’t feel worth the price. The place was emptying and she still brought us the bill immediately without us asking, despite us wanting to order more drinks etc. Felt like we were being asked to leave without her saying so. We then asked Jordan to order more drinks and he was incredibly accommodating and did an excellent job. We would have spent even more with Blues Kitchen (if it weren’t for it being a weekday) based purely off of the good vibe of our host

Friday & Saturday night for the first 2 times ever, fantastic vibe, atmosphere and all staff were great……was going to take my kids but they’ve already been and my daughter said “it’s one of my favourite places Daddy 😂😂😂” ❤️

Was booked in for karaoke a couple of weeks ago and had the best time! We had our own server taking care of us who made sure that there was never an empty glass in sight. Also ordered food to the room and the chicken wings were just next level. Can’t wait to go back!

Would recommend! The hosts greeted us with a warm welcome and our waitress Posy was exceptional in her service - no request was too small.

Always great food at Blues Kitchen enjoyed chicken and gravy with chips & a takeaway mac and cheese. The Mac and cheese never disappoints even a day later! Very friendly waiter who swapped out my old 50% off key ring for a new one. Also enjoyed Tuesdays £6 deal on Tequila cocktails.

Overall good place to be, queue wasn't long despite being quite busy and inside is awesome, live music and good vibes. Took ages to get served, seemed to be no real priority...bit of a free for all. Main issue was it was packed, barely able to move and the staff just kept telling us we can't stand there despite having no space to move to. Would go again though!

(Our fav was the Oreo donuts and steak) The live music was top-notch, creating the perfect vibe for a night out. A huge thank you to Kate and Mathieu for their absolutely amazing hospitality. They went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect and truly made the night unforgettable. We can’t wait to come back for more great food, drinks, and live performances.
