Setting, atmosphere, food, welcome, everything is there. The place is much too charming, their meats are truly incredible. We had a great time. No false note… they cook their fries in beef fat, it’s fantastic! A very nice discovery! I highly recommend.

Good meal. Was very much looking forward to a steak as that was the big appeal of coming here. Was quite disappointed to arrive at 9pm and find half the mains menu was sold out as the restaurant has a policy of using a whole animal everyday. An interesting concept but nonetheless disappointing as a diner, especially as you’re sat communally and so have to watch others eat the meal you’re craving! However the Lancashire Hotpot was very tasty. The lamb was extremely tender and the potatoes, particularly the crispy ones, were a delight. The sides didn’t excite a whole lot. Service was good and prices are very reasonable. Will visit again for the steak but will make sure to come earlier.

Overpriced and dishonest Generally average priced meat sold at top-quality prices. Told me they would trim the large amount of excess fat on a cut; well they did but only after first weighing it. Came home to discovery they effectively stole £20 from me. Avoid as a butcher, as a restaurant its actually decent.

Had the best dinner. Small intimate restaurant, sitting at white marble counter tops. Concise but varied menu. I chose the rump steak with an anchovy hollandaise sauce and a side of new potatoes - both were absolutely delicious, the steak is one of the best Ive ever had; the herb blend and seasoning on the pots was perfect. We have been here a lot, & the pork chop I had a few months ago was probably the best pork chop I have ever tasted & I was excited it was on the blackboard menu again, however when it came is was not like the pork chop I had before which had no fat & a bone in it. This time it was very fatty & no bone, so I was confused & the waiter said it’s a pork loin, & I said but it says pork chop on the menu? Anyway he said sorry but he didn’t bother to change the blackboard menu. We didn’t eat it as too fatty, & would not of ordered if it said loin, but we were still charged in full The chicken breast was a breast & was nice We are not rushing back which is a shame.

I eat pretty much anything and given the fact I chose to spend my Saturday night in a butcher it would be save to say I like meat. I very much enjoy raw meat as well. I'm happy having rare pigeon or rare pretty much anything. The chef seemed hell bent on proving to me it's possible to eat lamb raw. I sent back my food twice. On both occasions I got back meat where about 80% of it was raw then a little pink ring and some greyish char on the outside I understand it's quality meat and perfectly safe but when I'm paying 21 quid for a few wimpy slices of lamb it's reasonable to expect them a bit pink through rather than having to chew on raw meat. The photos and other dishes looks great so I'm just disappointed. If they hadn't run out of pork chops I'm sure I would have had a lovely evening. It doesn't make you a bad person or a reprobate to cook meat to a customer's liking. Was made to feel like I was dumb or something for wanting non-raw meat. The staff were kind and didn't charge me and I probably will return because ambiance was nice and other food looked good. Pictured is my food after the second bout of being sent back to ask to cook a bit more.

This place really is outstanding - though you will need to get there before 8 on a Friday to get a seat without queuing. It works best for small groups - ideally two or three - because the seating is communal and quite basic and the restaurant small. The Chateaubriand I had there last night was stunningly good - and I admire any restaurant that offers side dishes of fried egg (£1) and sausages (£3). The house red is good and cheap (£19) and overall its very competitive for what you are getting. Mostly though its about the meat. Just updating my reviews of 6 years ago. The restaurant is still here. It has survived Covid. It is still excellent. I didn't comment t on the butcher side of the business before. Pricey but excellent beef chicken and lamb. The staff don’t stop, covering multiple duties, FOH often prepping starters, or washing dishes. They are engaged and dedicated. It feels family run, and that’s what they’ve made here. The meat is outstanding but we had our meals slightly cold, even if it was properly coocked. This may be due a missmanagement of time. It may happen but given that the prices incorporates a high quality service (20£ for a lamb chop), it should not happen. Not a big deal. It was good anyway! It's a shame that on our 2nd visit the quality and cooking of the meat was not to the high standard we got the 1st time. All sides we excellent. Loved specially the cabbage with shrimp butter. The big disappointment was the way the ribs were cooked. Only 1 of the 4 wing ribs we ordered was cooked well. The rest were all overcooked and some bits were quite chewy. We were expecting all of them to be cooked the same way: red inside with all the fat rendered. It's a real shame because I had saved the place in My favourites but I've now removed it.

Had a great date with my partner here yesterday. The location is great and the restaurant is very cosy and intimate. The wine list is great and the menu has few but great options. On the downside, my meat was a bit undercooked, asked for a medium and was on the rare side, if not blue on some thicker points of the cut (I have enjoyed anyways as it was top quality, however someone else might have not). Although the quality of the ingredients is excellent, I have found it a bit pricey for what they offer. Despite these points, the whole experience was very positive and the staff was very attentive and polite. Surely a place to visit again to see the improvements.

Get super busy during holidays, so would recommend ordering in advance.” What I think now: the meat is still great quality, but the service is not. They still accept preorders, but don’t actually prepare it in advance, which defeats the purpose. (Has sadly happened more than once) unless you get the really friendly butcher (young, smiling, shaved head, has been there for years) your meat will not be prepared very well (sinews and unwanted bits will mean you have to spend more time prepping at home than you wanted to). My partner was told two weeks ago he couldn’t buy deboned thighs, he had to buy the whole leg...unheard of in this industry (I can only attribute this to laziness - if you don’t have time then say the prep will take 30 minutes and your customer can decide if they want to wait). I’m probably not going to make the effort to come here anymore. If you’re on Broadway on Saturday, then there are great alternatives at the market.

It is a cosy warm place, staff is polite and accommodating, atmosphere is familiar. It is a simple place, food is very tasty. We had really well cocked wing of rib 750g, it was delicious. Wine selection is very captivating with a decent range of options

Been there 5 times in total since Nov 2018, the review is a mixture of the experiences. 4 stars could be a bit generous given the last two times I didn't enjoy much, last time the meat arrived cold at the table, when told the waiter said it was because they let it rest to get the proper texture... cold meat is not really enjoyable, and the other times I've been there it was served to me at a proper temperature. I really liked the Sunday lunch menu, with different elements beside meat (pasta was very good), but I understand you change the business model and focus on cooking your meat, so please try to do it more properly, given now there isn't much choice on the menu. I love the setting, when eating at the central table; the sides are very good. A dive into the past, menú wise, would be much appreciated.

Went in to buy steak for steak tart tare apparently we didn't pronounce it correctly. We asked to see a "proper" butcher as we thought it must be the apprentice who we were dealing with. He was the butcher then proceeded to insult us by telling us how to pronounce it. We have eaten and prepared this all around the globe and at age 66 didn't really relish being lectured. We left without a purchase. Went to the Ginger Pig instead and spent a considerable amount of money on that and other meats. Bad day maybe, but we shan't be back.

I am regular of their butcher shop and buy meat there regularly. Although on the pricey side, their meat is always excellent - although service is not always at par with some staff much nicer than others On the restaurant side though, its a real rip-off: The meat was not of the same quality at all (really wonder how it is possible - maybe the cooking?), sides were average...but most of all, it was not acceptable price-wise. We ended up pay 60gbp+ per head for couple of wine glasses, two shared starter, few sides, and couple of small, average but massively overpriced "cotes de boeuf". Its nice to have an amazing location, but there is work to do on the rest!

Stumbled into this place on a Sunday evening for an impromptu dinner. Great service and atmosphere (it's a butchers shop by day with a big slab of Victorian marble that becomes a shared dining table in the evening). I saved the best to last though..the food, we had the pork chop and a side of broccoli, both charred to perfection and I've not had such a good pork chop ever. Will be back for the steak.

So. Sat in a butchers shop. Yes, butchers shop. Eating meat. Good meat. Greeted and served on by Freya. Professional and friendly. The only thing spoiling my evening at the minute is listening to the whining child proclaiming herself to be vegan at the age of approximately 8. Irritating beyond belief! The constant proclamation about veganism fits the usual profile of ramming it down your throat. In one so young?? We are doomed Captain Mainwarring, we are doomed!! Unfortunately for said child, parents were feeding her vegan butter and vegan cheese. Pity they didn’t tell her it was vegan pork too! Anyway..... Pork chop. Tasty and lovely and not over cooked. Quail. Good. Ham. Beautifully roasted. Just dry enough for me. Pigs head was to die for. Rillette nice. The bread was tasty and appreciated by the baker. All in all, yet another lovely once in a blue moon evening. Thank you very much team. It was worth including you in our long trip! Hope to come back soon.

Best butcher in London and definitely one of the best restaurant! Never thought I was going to like certain cuts of meat so much, but the produce and the chef knowledge deliver an amazing meal! Super nice staff and Luca, the owner, is one of the most enthusiastic persons I have ever met

The bavette steak was perfectly cooked and so tender (and only £16!), the pasta dish amazing, wine list was broad and reasonably priced, and the service was even better. 6/5!

Amazing, butchers by day, restaurant by night. The place is transformed into a very cosy eatery, serving awesome steaks and seasonal cuts of meat that as butcher's! they do have some inside knowledge. Great friendly ambience, sitting around the converted butcher's block table, great wine list, great food, well worth a visit. Thanks TOM....P.S. You can't book a table, so get there early, it's well worth the wait, 5 star!

I thought this butchers would be too expensive for my budget but it works out about the same for the basics as the supermarket and same as the previous butchers, H.Tidimans which closed a few years ago. Broadway Market can be annoying for locals on a budget these days. Staff are very helpful and share their knowledge. Connor and Luke were really nice last week when I got a bit stressed about a joint of lamb!!

I toyed with an 'average' score but, given what was paid, I have to go poor. First I want to say lovely people. I get the 'be nice to us and it is reflected' vibe - that's me all over. Also, I get tha
