We dined here on a Friday night and both the pub and Thai restaurant was busy (which is a great thing to see in a small village). The service was attentive from both the pub (they serve the drinks) and restaurant staff. The Thai meal was fantastic, super aromatic and flavoursome. We had the fish cakes and honey pork, if choosing again I would drop the pork but the fish cakes were delicious. For mains (portion sizes are large, one would have been sufficient) we had E Sarn chicken and sea bass with a panag sauce. Ho my days was the fish good! We had a side of sticky rice and broccoli (enough for 3 people) Highly recommended! Looking forward to going back.

The Blewbury pub is beautiful inside and out. Lovely garden area, the staff are really friendly, the food is great with lots to choose from whether it's an authentic pizza or Thai food made with fresh ingredients and overall I've always had a great experience here. I love this pub/restaurant in the village, whenever we have guests we always come here! Highly recommend - Thank you

Impromptu late lunch visit. We’d had a couple of takeaways from the Didcot Chor Muang, which is takeaway only. The food was great so thought we’d try dine in at Blewbury. We weren’t disappointed! The food and service was great. Knowledgeable staff with reference to lactose/dairy intolerance. The only slightly alien thing was to pay for drinks separate to the food but makes sense when you’re there. Both drinks and food service was excellent. Food was as delicious as the takeaway we’ve had! Can’t wait to go back to try some other things on the menu. Word to the wise, it’s very filling despite the eyes saying the portion sizes are smaller than expected - the portion sizes are bigger in your belly!! Would highly recommend …… we just need a sit down in Didcot please!

The Bueberry always looked busy when passing so thought must be a good sign - it was! Very busy when we 'walked in' at 19.00 but they found us a table. Two had Thai food, the other a pizza. Can say without fear or favour that this was THE best Thai food I've eaten in the UK! Fresh and delicious! My wife was full of praise for the pizza too. Can't understand some of the critical staff comments in some reviews; all the staff, bar and restaurant, were friendly and very efficient both for this and another subsequent visit. We'll be going back again!

My partner and I stayed in one of the apartments over the weekend. The host/landlord was incredibly welcoming (as were the staff) and really looked after us. It's the little things, like bottled water in the room (glass bottles too - if you know, you know), they accommodated a late request for a late check-out and were nothing but utterly delightful. The bed was very comfy, the room was excellent. Top marks! We will be back! Thank you very much!

I haven’t had Thai food for a while and was staying nearby in the local area. The Blueberry looks like your typical country pub from the outside. Inside though, at the rear of the pub is Chor Muang Thai Gastro. This is more like it, authentic Thai food made by Thai chefs. What a delight to find a gastro pub in a sleepy village in the Oxfordshire countryside. I was seated at 6 pm on a Friday evening, as usual I never booked, just took a chance. Perfect timing as only one table was occupied, a party of five who were dining in the top far corner of the restaurant. For the starter, I ordered the honey pork marinated in coriander, soya sauce, palm sugar and honey. It came with a tangy chilli dip. For the main, the red curry with duck which had a rich fruity taste from lychee, pineapple, cherry tomatoes and basil. Sticky rice was the perfect accompaniment. Finally the Thai pancake with coconut ice cream and mixed berry compote sauce for desert. The service was excellent and the staff very professional, attentive and welcoming. I had Madri lager brought from the pub to my table. I was informed they also had bottles of Singha. However, I opted for the on trend lager of the moment. The ambiance, décor and lighting was perfect. The food tasted delicious, no need for details, just to say was faultless. As I was finishing my pancake, the restaurant was starting to get busy. Couples, families were being shown their tables they had booked. So it was perfect timing, for me to settle my bill and tip the waitress. I headed to the bar still holding my second glass of Madrid's finest lager. The staff greeted you with a smile and were very friendly. My only gripe was a large screen showing horse racing which nobody was paying attention to. A gastro pub like this is a place for conversation and banter. The screen just kills the vibe, totally unnecessary. Also two large red setters in the pub taking up loads of room. They almost knock customers over. It's very cosy, people were playing cards which I loved. Locals chatted on a large round table near the window and two twenty somethings sat on bar stools talking nonsense. A great start to the weekend, recommended.

Fantastic experience - we dropped in on the way back from a trip on a random Tuesday evening just looking for some quick food and found the best Thai food I've had in the UK since coming back from my travels. Service was fast, pub is clean, staff very friendly, reasonable prices and well packed with people. Great atmosphere and great idea to mix traditional pub with a gastro-thai section in the rear. Will definitely be returning soon!

We popped in the pub of the Blueberry for some drinks and a snack we found the staff to be rude when one of the staff came out with our pizza we were offered no plates or sauces and they even didnt check on us to see if everything was ok this was very much a pub for the locals we felt unwelcome. We would not go back. The staff offered free pizzas to locals and ignored us.

Great local pub! Staff are always welcoming and happy to deal with everyone efficiently! Reading some of the negative reviews I’m baffled, definitely do not want to have a Tesco in its place & I don’t plan on eating off the floor so if my boots are a little dirty who cares. Selection of beers it’s great Stella, Coors, Staroporamen, Guinness, Thatchers, some bottled beers & ales on tap can’t go wrong. If you’re looking for something else then maybe go the off-licence and drink at home or stop being so fussy!

Pizza was amazing. Customer service is at the very bottom. Noisy. Dirty floor. Dogs in dining area We have been living in Blewbury for past 7 years ( have engaged village activities as well) and this was the very first time we went there for Thursday Big Pizzas. Wood oven pizzas were delicious. Crispy, cheesy and full of toppings. The cook was amazing too with very pleasant gesture. But the place wasn't very clean. There was no waiter to take up the orders. Waited 20min and realised you had to go to the bar to order. It was mentioned on the wall by the entrance. Then food was served and drinks weren't served, so had to ask twice as we were halfway of our meals and really needed our drinks, especially the kids. People arrived with dogs and dogs were going under our tables. We love pets but don't expect to see them in public restaurants when people are trying to have food. We booked the table in-advace because of kids but our table was right by the bar and next to the entrance. People were walking behind me and pushing me in as I was sitting because it was very narrow gap between the chairs and bar. Very noisy with people drinking after work. Not comfortable at all. Don't feel like a countryside pub. **** Well., We can see that owner has replied on the review. Seems like he hasn't taken it in very well. Can see that you don't want to understand your customers needs but to tell about your good/ regular customers. We were not there to save money or have your free fantas (don't insult your customers when responding to their feedback). Your deal was published on your website and we love wood- oven pizzas. You don't have to suggest the customers to when to come. We came on Thursday because we rarely get a day off together in midweek. There wasn't anyone to talk or request our needs. We tried to reach the bar couple of times but came back and sat down as poor girl was on her own, serving busy night. It's probably suit for drinkers but not for families as you clearly point about money you get. We are very familiar with most of pubs & restaurants around Didcot/ Oxford/ Wallingford and many more.Thank you for your response and we feel, that we have been let down for the second time after reading your response. Thank you

My husband and I both had the Mixed Lamb and Chicken for Main and it was so tender, so delicious! We are both stuffed is all I can say. Too bad there is not enough room for dessert. Lovely staff and are very friendly and welcoming. Even the owners are helping as it was really busy earlier today. The Thai food was delicious despite a longer than average wait as our order didn’t go through the first time but this didn’t matter as we were having a lovely time. Drinks ordered from the bar but table service so no issues there. Food paid for separately but again no issues with this. I was delighted to find more vegetarian options than the online menu suggested; the lunchtime menu offers good value for 1, 2, or 3 dishes, in addition to items from the all-day menu. There is a nice selection of bitters, including Good Old Boy from the West Berkshire Brewery, and I discovered I like Guinness Zero as my second pint. We had excellent service at the bar and in the Chor Muang Thai restaurant. I enjoyed my Tofu Pad Thai, and one of my friends reckoned his portion of sea bass was twice the size of that from his local pub.

Came here yesterday (23/09/23) for a 30th birthday present treated by my family. We was welcomed by the landlords and waitress who showed us to our table with a lovely warm smile. We was there for the Thai for lunch, so the pub waitress was doing the drinks round and a lady who does the Thai. The lady who was serving us from the Thai side was from turkey and I’m very forgetful with names but I can’t fault a thing, she was very helpful, patient with us due to my mum having long term illness. No rush whatsoever. She even pointed out some recommendations from the Thai menu. To list a few I had the grill chicken with peanut sauce for starter, sweet chilli prawns too. Both which was lovely and delicious. Just to point out these were small portions so might be best to have a couple of starters if you want to try and get yourself full up. And for mains I had the street food minced pork with chilli and spices with a fried egg on top. Again this is lovely and delicious. Tip: if you aren’t a fan of hot and spicy then this isn’t for you, but they can reduce the hotness if required on request by you. Like I said, a few listed as I won’t mention every meal as it was a lot as a family. But every plate was delicious and well presented and served by the lady with a lovely smile. 5 stars for the friendly service by the landlords Kevin and lady. 5 stars also for the lovely lady who only been there a week with the nice dreadlocks. She was lovely, smiley and caring and good service. And then 5 stars for the Turkish lady who works in the Thai end. 5 stars for food and drinks! Would definitely be coming back. Thank you again all. The number one question asked,,, "How long have you lived in Blewbury for"...? Um,,, Landlady so abrasive but the pizza good although this is overridden by hostility. If you get past the rather jazzy frontage and don't mind paying for the Thai food/pizza separately and being utterly felt irrelevant and feeling rather inadequate to those who have been villagers for generations then toughen up,,, great pizza!

**This review related to Chor Muang Thai at the Blueberry only!** I cannot find any way to review the restaurant only. Let's talk positives first. The food was mostly good. We had a satay to start - delicious. My wife had pad Thai - very good, she tells me. I had e-sarn chicken. This was tasty but was served on the bone. There was more bone then chicken on the plate. This was not mentioned on the menu. I wouldn't have ordered it otherwise. But it did taste nice. The venue though. A small room built into the back of the pub. When we arrived my name was on a little card on the table. I thought that was cute. The room is small and right next to a pizza kitchen. One of the tables was literally beside a door to a beer garden outside. People walked through from there to the bar. Not ideal. There was no atmosphere in the room at all. The service. Food was served quickly and one waitress was pleasant. The other seemed shy and perhaps untrained. No one asked us how our meal was our anything like that. When I mentioned my bony disappointment to the waitress at the end she brushed it off. The staff have nowhere to stand except blocking the route from this room to the bar. They looked very awkward and it made me feel awkward for them. I don't think they have had much or any training. I know it's a small town but that doesn't mean you don't aim for excellence! Next time I would order something different and have take away. The venue offers little as an eating out experience.

Greeted by another friendly face and seated at our reserved table. they went through the menu with us advising what wasn't available (4 dishes) but the menu was so big there was plenty to choose from. we all went for 3 courses (piggies) - shared the delicious starters and then devoured our mains - the flavours were amazing and so tasty - the puddings were simple but 1 party member went for the "Dragon Ball" well that was interesting but so tasty. we are definitely going back one day and hope to be as please for our second . visit also have to say the locals in the bar are just as friendly to new customers.

Visited for evening meal recently. Very disappointing. The food was reasonable. The service was non existence. Only service we got was when they gave us our meals. One man running bar and restaurant. Ordered food at bar. Plates never go cleared at all from table. Still there when we left. Then had to go to bar to ask for dessert menu. Got back to the table and we all decided what we wanted to then be told when we went went orderback at the bar there are no desserts. Waste of time. Won't be going back.

Called the Blueberry on Monday to try and pre-order some pizzas for Wednesday - was told to call on Wednesday, ok. Called on Wednesday shortly after opening (12pm) to preorder 9 pizzas, 3 garlic breads, a cheeseburger and chips to be collected that same day at 7:15pm. The service on the phone wasn't amazing but it was fine - I also asked for just two of the pizzas to be Gluten Free and that their boxes be marked "GF". Show up at 7:20, worried I'm a bit late. I tell someone I'm here to collected the big pizza order and I'm told it will be a 10 minute wait - not too bad. I have a group of 20 people waiting for me but 10 minutes isn't that bad. 7:30pm, no pizza. 7:45pm no pizza. 8:00pm no pizza 8:15pm pizza arrives 8:18pm I pay nearly full price for the whole order and leave. There was no attempt from the staff to communicate with me about the waiting time, just me and a friend sat at a table talking for nearly a full hour. We talk about how we're missing out on the event that ends at 9pm and hope that everyone isn't missing this pizza too much. There was no apology of even acknowledgement from the staff that we had been waiting nearly a whole hour to collect pizzas that I had pre-ordered several hours in advance (I would have given them two days notice if they let me!). None of the boxes were marked GF so we had no idea which pizzas were Gluten Free - I called to ask about this and they told me "look at the pizza base, the gluten free pizza base has holes in it" - we could not identify which pizza base was Gluten Free. To be honest I'm not even sure if our pizza had all it's ingredients on it as I ordered three of the "popeye" and didn't see any walnuts on there. From what I could tell, they hadn't actually prepared ANY of my order prior to my arrival so I had to sit and wait for all the pizzas to be cooked from scratch. I can appreciate that this ensures that the pizzas are 'fresh' when I collect them but given the amount of notice they had there MUST have been a better way of doing things. We had an event booked from 7-9pm nearby and in the end I only got to take part for about 15 minutes after everyone ate their pizza. Such a shame. Update: I feel I should add that despite The Blueberry commenting on this review, they never contacted me regarding this experience.

Absolute gem of a cafe. Delicious food and the personal service really makes it a special visit. Keep going back as I'm always made to feel welcome and can't beat the food. Reasonably priced as well. Can't recommend enough!

Rob & Will have quite literally saved The Plough. The food is always good, the atmosphere is welcoming, and we love coming to the pub for food and/or drinks. We’re very lucky to have such a great pub in the village.

Lovely, homely pub! Hayley is an amazing host who goes above and beyond for the customers, it feels like you are speaking with a friend. Couldn’t recommend this pub enough, the food is lovely, the atmosphere makes you feel at home and prices are very reasonable.
