The Bluebell Yarm in Stockton-on-Tees

Called up said they were serving food til 8. Arrived at 7:20 and said no more food orders 0/10 will not be back. Just to double check went on the website and it said serving til 8. In previous visits they have served us at 7:40. Very disappointed kids. What a joke

Popped in for a quick bite and a drink. Ordered a chicken wrap to share and was warned by staff that it was small, but went with it anyway. Big mistake - it was tiny and the chicken was poor quality, probably thigh or leg! With only a measily compliment of chips. All for £9:50!! I know everything has gone up hugely in recent times, but this is the worst example of 'value for money' I've experienced for a long time. Given the location and river views, this pub could be a gold mine, just by uplifting the quality and quantity of the food.....the pint was nice though!

Being familiar with this pub in the past, we seen that it had been taken over and took the first opportunity that we had to re-visit. I honestly wish we hadn't bothered. We are a family of four (Mum, dad, a 13yr old and a 10yr old) we ordered four adult meals and was really shocked when our food arrived. It was children's meal portions!!!! The price of these meals are absolutely ridiculous in comparison to what you get for your money. I understand that you find smaller portions in Michelin star restaurants, and fine dining places but this is a pub. We paid £2.50 extra for some garlic bread to go with the £14 lasagne. You can see by the photos attached. Another meal we ordered was a chicken burger, again it was small portion and was more like a children's meal than an adults. Additionally, we ordered two sausage, mash, peas. It was like a table spoon on mashed potato, small sausages and a table spoon of peas. We addressed our concerns of the small portion sizes and cost to the manager, however he said that they have no control over what's given to the customers. It's the brewery. We spent around £70 in total including drinks (which consisted of two pints of cider and two soft drinks) I wouldn't consider my family as big eaters either, but when you take your family out for food and everyone leaves still feeling hungry, it isn't good! It's a shame really, it's a nice pub and the staff were friendly but we won't be returning again after this!

All the staff friendly and helpful. One of the staff Jordan went above and beyond, helping one of us who has walking disability. He was very pleasant and made sure we were comfortable. The food was very nice and good value for money

Absolutely fantastic service by a fantastic funny and out going waiter. He was so nice and knew when to joke and the service he did was bar non the best. The Food Absolutely fantastic 👌 and if it was warm we would have sat outside on there outside on the river seating area. We didn't have one but dogs are allowed in which is near the back near the doors Fantastic food Fantastic service

Gorgeous refurbishment, food was really tasty & staff all friendly and professional. Bonus points some areas of the pub are dog friendly!

Our first visit since the new management have taken over. The staff were really friendly and service was quick. We ordered from the lunch menu which was really good value and enjoyed our food which was much better quality than under the previous management. The portion wasn't massive but definitely enough for lunch and reflected in the price. Larger portions are available on the main menu. The beer selection has also improved; it's great to have neck oil on tap! They have refurbished the inside and it looks great and is lovely warm now! It will be our new go to for local family meals out.

Me and my family and all my friends have been coming here for 20 years. there’s a famous saying which is… you shouldn't change something that works. It’s always looked abit tired the place. But I’ve lived in yarm my whole life. And no body in the area has cared. That’s because the foods always been great tasty and delicious. Good choice to choose from good waiting service. Good selection of drinks ect. and there world famous Parmo! Epic! No one ever said anything bad about it ever! But I went recently since it reopened and they have unfortunately tried to turn it into more of a formal restaurant as a regular I could work out what they have changed… but more Importantly they have changed the food and the famous Parmo. It isn’t how it was. And it’s far worse. Alsmost like someone’s trying to hard. I found this utterly disappointing. The first time ever they got my order wrong. I asked for a hot shot Parmo they brought The a regular. Dead easy dead simple. Drinks took forever to come to the table. The whole thing seemed like a desperate attempted at something. If you’re new to this place. The foods passable. But nothing compared to how it’s always been. Which was good! Nice! Tasty and fresh. I hope my concerns reach the blue bell as I’ve never written a trip advisor view in my life.

Such a shame that this pubs food has been taken over by a chain. If your used to the old homemade chips and dishes off the old menus your out of luck. Tried lunch fish n chips(fries) yesterday which for £11 midweek deal with a drink was fine. Today ordered a Parmo not bad size for £12.50 but served again with skin on fries and lettuce/ not salad. bechamel sauce seemed to be out of a jar. Two pints of Spanish larger @ £5.40 pint.None of your Fosters or Carling. Apparently, changing menus in a couple of weeks. Couple next to us ordered off the lunch menus and I must admit were child size portions of burger and fries and gammon and egg(served on what looked like a tea plate). This pub is in a great location next to the river. It's been done up lovely. But "WHY" do they have to use a chain/ franchise for food? Let your chef do their own thing! Home cooked food even if a couple of quid more.

I been to the blue bell many time and the food was always good value for money but since it’s been refurbished now the place is even better and the food is even better. If it was to mark it out 10 I would say 11 as the new menu and chef and management have turn a good pub into a great pub. Can not wait to go back .

Lugar agradable para tomar una pinta y comer algo, no es de los mejores en Yarm pero se está bien....

Love this place, can grab a drink and sit next to the river. Beautiful sights. Cheap drinks and plenty of deals. Great place to take dogs after a long walk on the river

Sólo he pedido una Parmo desde aquí ya que me encanta la delicadeza Teeside. XL Parmo viene en un plato por separado sus propios plato de patatas fritas y ensalada. Lucha para comer ya que es enorme. Buen comer fuera de lugar mirando hacia el río cuando hace calor. que se llena rápidamente así que comer temprano. Me encanta el BLUEBELL
