Love it here. Happy to open a tab without any fuss and offer good food and good service. Plenty of regulars and decent staff. Good pub

In deze bar kun je lekker een biertje of cocktail drinken. Ze hebben ook een kaart met pizza's, burgers en steaks. Maar dat is een bijzaak. Het eten is opzich echt lekker, maar het duurt lang. Personeel is vooral bezig met drankjes maken of iets anders, maar niet met klanten die eten willen bestellen. De manager loopt als een kip zonder kop rond en doet eigenlijk niets.

Went in at 10am for a breakfast and was about 4 other people in it. Took about an hour to get a fry up!

Sólo teníamos dobles con una coca-cola y este resultó mucho más caro. Luego nos fuimos a unos más pubs y volvimos aquí por la comida. Pedimos nos dijeron que no toda la comida estaba disponible, así que podíamos esperar 15 minutos mientras lo solucionan. . . . Salimos.

Vinimos aquí para unos tragos y comida antes de una noche de fiesta el domingo. En el bar nos dijeron que no se puede encargar la comida, era 4. 45:00 hasta nuevo aviso por Charlie. Preguntó por qué no se dio ninguna explicación, pero luego fuimos a derramando bebidas. Volvimos a la mesa y las bebidas estaban equivocados, pedimos dobles y sencillas se echaban. Mi esposa volvimos al bar, Jamie se rió y me dijo: "bueno, eso no es lo que pedimos, tendrás que pagar por ellos".

Cuando me di cuenta que a las 21:00 no iba a conseguir cenar en ningún sitio un jueves en Manchester entré a tomar una cerveza, bien tirada y buen precio.

Visited with my good friend Amanda, was greeted as soon as we entered the bar, after saying we were hungry was prompted to choose something from their FAB menu, I had the Southern Fried Chicken Strips with Dippy and Fries, I also tried the Black Jack Cocktail and really enjoyed it, I think Amanda had the steak & caramelised onions, the staff are very experienced with customer satisfaction, made us feel welcome & attentive though out, thanks Milli Small

Vinimos para el 2 por 1 que es ofrecer cócteles en cualquier cóctel (aparte del mojito), a cualquier hora del día. Ambos nos probamos el 'Lluvia púrpura" del cóctel, que fue muy agradable y abundante. Que pena el precio teniendo en cuenta que este lugar está justo en el centro de Manchester, donde se podría pagar el doble de precio.

Última aquí hace seis años y lugar no ha cambiado. Nunca tuvimos la última vez comida pero decidimos el Italiano Burger en la ofertas especiales. No estoy seguro de que lo hacía el queso mozzarella italiano, probablemente. De todos modos era genial. Una de las mejores hamburguesas que he probado en mucho tiempo. Seguimos con el budín de pan y manteca. La verdadera comida confort. Sabroso, bien de precio y con una sonrisa en una tarde soleada de domingo.

Terminamos aquí como un soltero apareció y perturbado donde estábamos! Decidimos darle una oportunidad, ya que había 2 para 1 cócteles y un sencillo menú de hamburguesa y patatas fritas. No digo simple hamburguesa y patatas fritas, Guau, este fue en la escala, una bonita, ninguno de nosotros podía terminar. Estábamos totalmente relleno, fue una muy buena elección!

Called in here on a Saturday tea time, there was a group of us for our Friends 40th, the staff were extremely pleasant, there was even a girl being trained and she was pleasant and better than most staff in other places... We only called for a drink as we had booked in Missoula next door (BIG MISTAKE) we should of booked here as the place was clean, modern and a nice atmosphere and what we saw and smelt of the food it looked gorgeous. a definite to be tried for food next time just gutted we didn't stay there...

Nice quiet place during the week. For those of you who have lots of energy, come on Friday.... It's Salsa night!!! Quick, friendly service and freshly made/ cooked food on site.

Metimos en aquí para comer un bocado y un trago antes de asistir a un evento en una tienda de música en la carretera. La camarera fue muy amable y nos lo pasamos los nachos, alitas de pollo y patatas fritas. Todo muy sabroso. La única decepción fue que en 6. 30:00 no podían ofrecer un postre de ningún tipo.

Buena comida a mitad de precio los miércoles y jueves. Pizza gratis con las alcohólicas drfink. Excelente servicio. Capacidad ton 7 pm.

El lugar estaba muy concurrido, lo que puede esperar para la cuenta larga por la comida para llegar que en sí no estaba mal tenía la casa burger y una botella de tinto de la casa que eran tanto a un precio razonable. No es el lugar más relajante para comer, pero no es el peor.

Took 45 minutes to get served.We then ordered 2 Pizza"s that took 50minutes.The Pizza"s were awful.Looked like heated up Frozen Pizza.Cold at the edges.So 3 pints of Cobra and 2 Pizza"s £35.Absolute rip off

I must say at first that the staff member who served us was polite and friendly, although he had to go and check if the kitchen was still serving food (8pm).It was, and the food was typical pub style fast food dressed up to look more interesting. The lady who served it was very nice though.The music was so loud even upstairs you had to shout into the ear of the bar staff.Although the place wasnt that busy there was no one clearing or cleaning tables, tables were sticky, food fallen onto the floor was just left there.Would I go again? Maybe for one drink as part of a pub crawl I could accept it, but for any longer than that I would need to be stone deaf, eaten before I went out, and wearing old clothes.

We decided to meet at the blue parrot for a friends birthday early evening for some food and drinks as it was central and easy for us all to get too as some had travelled up and got a hotel in town, we arrived and was greeted by friendly staff and sat down and looked through the menu, the cocktail deal struck with us instantly and we all ordered the 241 cocktails and they were delicious! We only wanted small snacks and nibbles so opted for the home made pizzas and burgers. The pizzas were home made and delicious and very filling. The staff were very pleasant and attentive and would recommend and visit again. All in all a great start to our evening out in Manchester

we popped in here for some food before the stone roses gig a few weeks ago as it was right opposite the tram stop so was easy for us to get to the stadium, a table of 10 of us went in for food, we ordered the pizzas and burgers the food was great and good value for money and the staff were very polite and helpful considering how busy the place was for the concert, The food arrived promptly and was delicious, we had planned just food and a couple of drinks before the gig but ended up here for a good few hours on the amazing 241 cocktails they do. it was very busy and seems a great place to go with lots of events happening through the weekend. would deffo recommend. will be back.

Tiny portion of ceasar sallad as a main, pizza looked like a frozen pizza quickly heated in the microwave, had to order at the bar, service without a smile, sticky dirty table

Went in with a group of 6 - Sunday early dinner time. Place nearly empty but seemed all OK. Ordered a few cocktails and saw hardly any alcohol being used & thought "typical", but it was 2 for 1. Food ordered for all 6 and 3 orders were wrong with 2 being so far wrong they shouldn't have been taken let alone served. One of which was already a 2nd choice because they decided to wait 10-15mins before they told us the Calzone was off the menu.Ironically the whole reason we went in there was for a Sunday roast, (as advertised outside) which they casually said they'd stopped doing, (as in completely stopped) & just haven't been bothered to take the sign down - false pretences & advertising or what?!Staff were friendly enough (not abusive etc) but what they allowed to happen and thought was fine absolutely stunned all of us, (not just me or the poor recipients of half their meals - my meal was below par too but not one of the 2 awful ones). The 2 meals that were inexcusable were merely Pizzas - 1 was called "The Butchers Shop" that should have had: Strips of steak, pepperoni, Cumberland sausage, ham and mozzarella, (as per the actual menu).It came with no steak and no sausage (and the cheese looked like cheddar)! Work that one out - none of the staff even bothered saying anything and just served it up; awesome!The other was called "The Hot Stripper", and should have had: Chicken Strips, red onion, jalapeños and mozzarella, (again according to the menu). It just had chicken & cheddar looking cheese.Amazingly, when questioned, the bar-maid simply exclaimed, "Oh yeah, we haven't got any sausage, but we've done the steak now, do you want us to put some on?" - this 5-10 mins after the dishes were served with half the toppings missing.My meal (that was also duff) was served on stale white loaf that fell apart as soon as you touched it and was supposed to be a "BP Club" sandwich, containing: Triple layered bread filled with southern fried chicken strips, smoked bacon, fresh tomato and crisp iceberg lettuce with a black pepper and mustard mayo served with skinny fries. It wasn't triple layered, the chicken was re-fried, dry as a bone, tough & chewy, and there was no mayo of any description, let alone the black pepper & mustard mayo I bought it for. Fries were OK though lol.I couldn't be bothered to add my complaint to the melee of non-concern being shown by the naive staff serving us, and despite them trying to repeatedly force a free desert on us, we insisted on not paying for the 2 pizzas that weren't eaten and just left.Shouldn't have paid for any of it if you ask me. Absolutely bunch of amateurs that couldn't care less and are probably more concerned now that it's blatantly apparent & obvious to the public they don't care or know how to do their job, rather than actually being concerned about doing it properly to begin with. Unacceptable to service customers like that and be almost blissfully unaware you're even doing anything wrong.It's a NO from me. We used to visit the Blue Parrot on every trip to the city centre, the staff were courteous, the great selection of drinks & the food were all excellent. So much so on our last visit I emailed the manager to compliment them. It's 3 years since our last visit, and, with a group of friends, eagerly headed to the Blue Parrot after telling them so much about it. As soon as we entered we were disappointed, gone are the classy velvet chesterfield sofas which have been replaced with tables and chairs more suited to giraffes as they are so high, the classy silver candelabras being replaced with plastic bamboo plants from Poundland, for some reason they've painted the ceiling navy blue which literally feels like you have to stoop over & the quirky logos on the walls have been painted over too. The hardcore music was so loud we couldn't talk, no idea why it was played at that volume as there was ONE other person at the bar, and to top it all there was a skanky bloke covered in blood trying to enter as we left.A great bar ruined & I fully expect to see it closed next time.Avoid.

We visited on a Sunday & took the children with us. The bar staff couldn't have been more helpful, they provided the children with colouring books, stickers & pens, the children loved them. We ordered several pizzas which were all very good.

Food was your average burger style...nothing special...The music was far too loud..Prices were ok...did not give a wow factor

Ordered Hot Stripper pizza and was more than pleasantly surprised at how good it was. So tasty with chicken strips and jalapeños and the base was handmade freshly. Definitely one of the best pizzas I've had, and I like pizza . Had to compliment the chef personally - would recommend to anyone. I will be going back there. Cheap drinks too and friendly service!

Came upon here by accident. ...it started to rain so ducked in out of the showers. Very friendly bar staff. Especially Jo she makes a mean expresso martini. Will we go again yes.

Had a fabulous day at the Blue Parrot Bar and Grille in Manchester. Initially popped in for a quick starter drink on a day of drinks with a friend and we never left!! 2-4-1 cocktails all day were amazing. It was like visiting a candy shop with The Jolly Rancher, The Black Jack and The Purple Rain which tasted like refreshers. Jo who served us was amazing, making each cocktail special like it was our first with sparklers and decoration. She was so so friendly and knrw just when to come over taking our next roynd order, and was one of the main reasons we didn't move on to other establishments. I had a fabulous day catching up with a dear friend in a fab, friendly, relaxed atmosphere. Thank you Jo!! Xx

Came in here for a quick drink and ended up staying all night!staff were fantastic and the table service was absolutely amazing, The waitress was extremely friendly and couldn't do enough for us.We wasn't planning on food but after realising it was 2 for 1 on cocktails we thought we better play it safe and get something.We ordered the pizza and bucket of bones. pizza was fantastic. The bones could of had more sauce but overall it was a great day and will now be the new weekend spot for us!

just arrived in Manchester party weekend. Dumped our bags and headed out for food. Got given a hand full of vouchers near the hotel. We all had their stack burgers. Took a little time but well worth it. Did not mined as four cocktails and only charged for two. Notice a lot going on in the evenings. Defiantly coming back over the weekend. Myself and my work colleagues have been coming to the Blue Parrot for the last 6 months or so. It has undergone a refurbishment and now has a nice selection of lager (including Blue Moon!). We keep coming back because the service is excellent and they have nice booths to sit in. It is often or first port of call for a few drinks before hitting town, and more recently we have been going for food on our work break. The steak sandwich is excellent. More than anything though it really is the staff that make this place, much friendlier service than a lot of nearby spots

Visited during a trip to Manchester a year ago and stayed at the nearby Novotel, we called in on spec . It wasn't bad - big standard cocktails and average food. The staff were nice and helpful.

We visited the Blue Parrot some Years ago & saw a massive change & not for the Good.Food just about ok didn't have a lot that was on the very small menu.We all felt it had really gone down.The waitress was very good especially as she was working the Bar too.Toliets a disgrace cant believe they get away with such standards.Music was fab though a big plus for them.Needs a good overall .Shame we definitely wont be rushing back & wouldn't recommend for food.Ok I suppose for drinks & cocktails but plenty of better places.

Got a 50% off voucher in the street. Had a look at menu and thought why not. Me and my 5 year old son dining and she insisted I sat down and she would bring drinks, I mean she wasn't busy but still excellent customer service. Chef shouted would my son like cheese which was nice - my boy loves cheese. Anyway burgers arrived, was fantastic. Well cooked, amongst the best I've had but chips undercooked. Girl came over and asked if all OK. Reported chips and she brought me a free pint. For the price superb.

Got a voucher through Groupon. 2 pizzas and a bottle of vino for £19.95. Not bad. Got there and got our table. 1 hour wait for two pizzas. The pizzas were nice but they were small. The whole place was quiet too so didn't quite understand why it took so long. And it was only 5:15 when we arrived. Won't be rushing to eat there again anytime soon.

We visited at 12pm on a Sunday afternoon and were extremely disappointed in the food and the service. It wasn't very busy at all and had no problem finding a seat, which should have told us something. We ordered drinks from the bar and then asked to see some menus. We were told that the only food they were serving at that time was the burger and beer deal and a full English breakfast. We were so hungry as we'd been travelling most of the morning and having ordered drinks we said this was fine, so we ordered one burger meal and one full English. Considering it wasn't at all busy we waited almost 40 minutes for our food and when it did come it was almost laughable. The burger meal looked like something you would throw together for a child's dinner. The burger was tiny and looked like it was something from a supermarket basics range, to add insult to this they stuck a massive skewer in it for no real reason, as these are normally added to stop the burger from falling apart but the skewer was 3x the size of the burger! Also it was supposed to come with fries but we were given curly fries which my partner is not a fan of. I had the full English which was supposed to consist of egg, bacon, sausage, tomato, beans, mushrooms and toast. I had no tomato, no toast and 3 tiny mushrooms that were freezing cold, the beans were lukewarm and the bacon and sausage were very greasy. All in all it was awful and looked like it had been knocked together in someone's flat rather than in an actual kitchen. As we were eating we did notice that they were turning other people away when they were coming in and only wish the same thing had happened to us. I think the staff were pretty embarrassed and can only assume that they didn't check to see if everything was ok with the meals because they knew what the answer would be. Would most definitely avoid as it is clear they just don't have the kitchen staff and the food they purchase is cheap and of poor quality.

Called in Thursday day for a catch up with friends and I'm so glad we did!Was greeted by a young lady who made us feel really welcome. The place just had a lovely feel to it, the music was great and not too loud to hear friend chat. The service here was fantastic I can't wait to come back! We didn't eat here but we intend too the next time we're in town as I want one of the burgers I saw passing by. Would definitely recommend!

Completely unexpected treat. Never heard of this place as I usually stick to the other side of town but after meeting some friends at the station we wandered past this gem and had a way better night than we were expecting. Glad we got to find this on a Friday as all the other nearby bars looked empty. The 2-4-1 cocktail were made perfectly.

A different feel to any other bar and grill type place. Great food, staff, drinks and an amazing salsa night on Friday. 10/10 would recommend.

Came in for a meal with my boyfriend as the atmosphere looked nice and relaxed. The wait for the food was abit long but didn't mind due to lovely service and the flowing of drinks. Overall the food was nice but the service made me evening.

I brought a friend here because I've been before and loved the fish and chips.....it's no longer on the menu!Food was ok, and didn't take too long to arrive considering it looked busy. We were served by an older guy who asked if we knew what the cocktails were supposed to taste like, I said 'no' so he agreed to make them for us himself (They were lovely)

The salsa Friday night at the Blue Parrot is the best plan for me and my friends. There are always many people and a great atmosphere. Besides the staff are very good friendly, and drinks not too expensive.

Manager was extremely rude to me and my group of friends. Accused us of lying to her when in the end it was her staff telling lies. Food was good but the general attitude stank.

Stopped by with a few friends Saturday night for some quick food and a beer before we went out, only called in because it looked less busy compared to other places that were ramming...there's a reason why there was barely anybody in.We were told our food had been ordered 25minutes apart (which it hadn't) was a few seconds...so therefore only 2 people out of 5 could have a burger the other burgers needed to defrost and we had to order something else (it took 30minutes of waiting before we were told this). We then waited another 20 minutes for 3 sandwiches to be made and then they came covered in mustard?!? Then on top of that 2 of the beer tabs ran out and barmaid didn't even go and change them just said we'd have to have something else?Honestly awful service and bad food, don't waste your time here plenty of better places close by, can't even get the basics right!

We ordered and paid for two burgers. After an hour the burgers had still not arrived. Customer service was non-existent and we were simply left waiting and waiting without any explanation. The bar/grille was quiet so we could not understand what could have taken so long! We did not get to see/taste the burgers so cannot comment on the quality of the food but now looking at other reviews I'm glad we didn't!

I went after work with a friend because I'd had a bad day. Going here didn't help much.They didn't have a few of the things we initially ordered and even though the menu said we'd get onion rings apparently "having a new chef" means that we were never going to get them.To top it off the whole meal and service was excused by them because "it was half off anyway".

It's a Tuesday night and I just visited this place only for the second time. The food was good and reasonably priced and Stuart was really helpful and friendly. I think I will go here more often. Thanks for the good evening.

we call in for a drink yesterday and the drinks came in a tin mugs i would not go again we payed 4pounds 50 for 2 drinks very poor

Looking at their website I was really looking forward to eating here. However, we were very disappointed with the following...- Cocktails are not 2-4-1 as advertised on the website and are £4.95 at least!- Pictures are misleading, it didn't look anywhere near as nice as what I saw on the website.- Told them we had a table booked for two, they said oh just sit wherever. Two crappy tables were available next to the front door (no thanks). So instead we went upstairs, which had zero atmosphere, and didn't feel all that clean. It felt we were in a disused room, with glass tables scattered around (no chairs with them). We've seen better organised working men's clubs.- No signs on the toilet. I used the ladies loo, and then found out an hour later that there was actually a male toilets. - Was told there would be a 15 minute wait on our food. After 30 minutes I went down to enquire where it was and she just told me it wouldn't be long - Around 40 minutes we waited. Once it arrived it was a very poor burger, lacking taste, but the fries were ok ha. The only positives I have is that we got server very quickly and the staff were very friendly. I won't be returning here in a rush...

Had a lovely dinner for two, it was a Tuesday night and was a 2 for 1 deal, so we had the rump steak, it was cooked to our request perfectly, great location would definitely revisit.

The Blue Parrots is located across the road from Piccadilly Bus station and metrolink team stop. The staff are very good friendly, and drinks not too expensive. On Friday nights since November 2015 there has been salsa music and dancing from 9.30pm.

Work very local to here so go in quite often for lunch. Always served with a smile, food is always good quality and have a good range of beers!The staff are fantastic, very helpful service and always look after us very well.Recent refurbs have really done it a world of good. Looks fantastic and feels more modern. Wont stop coming here!

Typical english roast beef. It was very quiet as the manchester derby was on. Lunch was inexpensive. Coffee was lovely

I work in the offices above the Blue Parrot and myself with fellow colleagues go for cocktails after work here every Friday. Despite its convenience I've never been a big fan of the place especially with Missoula next door as an alternative. The last few weeks however the place seems to have turned a corner, it's getting better all the time and seems to be really focusing on the atmosphere and service. I'm glad our continued patronage is finally paying off.

First visit to Manchester with the other half looking for a quick bite to eat...looked OK from the outside so ventured in....served really quickly by a really pleasant young lady didn't have to wait long for the food....ordered 2 ribeye steaks med...arrived over cooked and dubious if was ribeye at all..should have sent it back but were to preoccupied with the row going on in the bar with the footy yobs who had been let in..is it a food house or a drinking house ? It does not mix....def wouldn't visit again...not the best experience and hope the next 2 days are better!..oh yes...no bottles of white wine?...what's all that about in a resteraunt on a Sunday night?

Popped in for a quick bite to eat on Thursday 9th October. Ordered ribs as they had run out of fish cakes. Terrible. Reheated rubbish. No meat on them and rock hard. Sent them back. No offer of replacement, just agreed to take off the bill. Cocktail was just a vodka and cranberry... Can't call it a cocktail! Tables sticky, would not go back.

Had a really unimaginative steak and chips dinner on the Monday Madness deal as the lamb shank had run out. Good service from the yound lad and the food was ok. Place needs a minor refurb.

Been here twice and neither occasion was particularly memorable. First time I had the mixed grill, which was pretty awful - dry, bland, uninspiring and overpriced. Second time was just for a quick drink, place was virtually deserted and lacked any atmosphere. Not somewhere I could get excited about if I'm honest. Misoula bar next door is miles better.

We went on a Monday evening and the offer was 50% off food so I ordered a fillet steak. They said they did not have any fillet steaks so I said what about a rump, but was told there were not any steaks left., Also the cocktails were 2 for 1 but you had to order the same 2. So we were going to order 4 cocktails, but with no steak we left.

I visited this venue with work colleagues whilst staying in a local hotel. It was later evening around 20.30 we chose to have cocktails as it was two for one, however the catch was you both had to have the same one. Ordering was easy but the time it took to get the drinks was lengthy as the order was taken at our table, and the bar men served a few people at the bar before they eventually did ours.We ordered food, I chose the Americano burger which was lovely, there was seven of us eating and no other food orders was in the kitchen as it was 20.50 by the time we ordered. There was only one person in the kitchen as it was a Thursday night and our meals took just over 35 minutes to come but when they did they were lovely. Good value and good food, the two lads that were serving were always happy to help. I would recommend this place and happily visit again, I have knocked one star off on the review due to a slow service.

This is the 2nd time we have been to the Blue Parrot. The food here is consistently gorgeous. The staff are so friendly and very very good at their jobs. I would highly recommend going in the afternoon time as it is nice and quiet and a very pleasant atmosphere. I would highly recommend the stack burger as well - absolutely delicious and the Chefs can cater to the customers requirements!

We found this bar and grille yesterday and ate there the food was excellent stack burgers delicious and service was excellent. In fact it was that good we are back today!!!!!!!Now that must say something !!!!!!!!!!!!!

Had a really lovely early evening meal. Wine and cocktails. Told Joanne our lovely host we had been married 3 weeks and she bent over backwards to make us special. Recommended - totally. Thank u Blue Parrot and especially Joanne ☺

My wife and I had lunch at the Blue Parrot. The place is in a great location just off Piccadilly gardens next to the bus station. The decor is modern and well maintained.The menu was varied. The service was excellent. But this is were unfortunately this is were it became a mixed revue. My wife had a Blue Parrot burger which she found excellent, but I had an All day breakfast, which looked great on the plate, but cold. They did offer to change it which I declined because I didn't want to wait any longer. They did take off the price of two lattes as compensation. Finally I would just like to say this experience as not put me off returning to give it a second chance.

Stayed at the Britannia Hotel and saw the add on the window. Great price to keep expenses down. Expected an average burger but was pleasantly surprised by the quality of burger, cheese and bacon. It wasn't served straight away which for me was a good sign that the chef had cooked it. The restaurant itself wasn't the nicest inside but for £5.95 absolute bargain.

We had the fillet steak which was cooked to perfection. Staff very friendly. Lovely atmosphere. This is a modern cosmopolitan style bar and restaurant which is very popular. We would highly recommend.

We had a great night here . Food was lovely , staff friendly and helpful .We would definately go back .

Thought it was going to have a wow factor. But it didn't. I ordered 8oz sirloin but when it came it was more like a 6oz. As few chips stacked but not many, a large tomatoe and large mushroom and a spoon full of pepper sauce. It was tastey but not worth the price. The staff were kept busy and as soon as our glass was empty they asked us if we wanted more. I think there was only one chef, that's why we waited over half an hour for our meal. Would I go back ? I think I would try somewhere else first.

We were passing by and stopped for dinner. The place was busy and noisy so we thought it would be fun. The server was really nice and did a good job. The food was very ordinary... I had chicken and red pepper skewers with rice and my wife had Caesar salad with chicken. The salad wasn't really a Caesar... More of a store-bought, creamy dressing with deep fried chicken fingers. The chicken and peppers saw okay but rather bland. There are a lot of places around. I wouldn't seek this one out.

ordered several meals one being rib eye steak and chips , steak edible but a totalOf 6 chips per meal stacked like jenga pieces, all day breakfast was under cooked and steak skew appeared to be off! Price paid for steak and 6 chips £16.95 disgusting value!!!

Great, quick service, good music, big, juicy steaks cooked perfectly, soup starter really tasty and recommend the chocolate cake and ice cream. Also brill location across the road from the mercure! Really enjoyed, would highly recommend!

We stopped here for lunch while visiting Manchester recently. At first we thought it looked a bit average but this was certainly a misconception. The waitress was outstanding and was a great help , especially as I'm lactose intolerant. She had an in-depth knowledge of the menu and couldn't do enough for us. We both had a steak sandwich and fries and I can honestly say that they were some of the best I've ever tasted and a perfect accompaniment to the superbly cooked steak. Better still, because of my food intolerance, the chef made an accompanying mushroom sauce especially for me.Absolutely A1.

Excellent service from a wonderful lady from Greece who makes you feel at home. Was refreshing to be served like this in Manchester. Excellent member of staff. The chef appeared to be rude to the other staff members but was ok to us. Either way don't be rude to the front of house staff members as they are front of house and is important. Excellent service. Good food.

Called in on a Friday night, had the 2 for one cocktails, not really impressed, I should have known when they said they would bring to our table rather than make them there and then. I suppose you get what you pay for.

This burger place is just across the street from the main tourist office in Manchester. It serves typical pub grub. I had a burger with chunky cut chips and my partner had an all day breakfast. We were impressed with the service, maybe we got lucky with our waitress but generally in the south of England people are not nearly so happy as up here. I would recommend here if you need a quick bite to eat in the middle of the day.

Called here for an impromptu lunch on Monday and it turns out all food is 50% on Mondays, all day.Had a great meal with Cheese garlic bread, sirloin steak and chocolate fudge cake.The starter and main were very tasty and the pepper sauce was some of the best I have ever had.Desert was OK, but not up to the standard of the starter and main.Friendly waiting staff too.Will definitely return one day

we ordered food and they came back to say 2 items were not in stock. told to pick from main menu but was charged full price. fought and got special menu price. girl going around as manager but she hadn't a clue. very poor.steps not clearly marked and my 78 yr old mother fell on top of chairs.could not eat dinner as seemed to be reheated.

We walked into this very quite pub and when we sat down we were disappointed with the booth seats that needed a good hoover and the light shade covers that needed a good clean. Being short on time, we decided to stay. The food was slow to be served but all 4 of us had very fresh, perfectly cooked meals that were very tasty - it was such a welcome surprise from our initial reaction and we were all glad that we stayed!

We called here on spec as we were looking for somewhere for a quick lunch. The menu was varied and there were deals of the daynwhichnwe only about £6 for burger/chips and a drink. I opted for the chilli beef salad instead which was very tasty - the staff were pleasant, the food was good and the ambience was lively. I can't comment ion what this place is like in the evening but at lunch time it was very pleasant. There were a good few people in drinking /watching sport on TV and not eating but it didn't't seem to affect anyone. There was room for both groups of customers.

Not since Basil Fawlty rendered a bewildered Mr Hutchinson unconscious have levels of service stooped so comically low. I should have suspected something was awry when there were 10 place settings (our group number) at table clearly meant for a maximum of 8 people, but a quizzical look later and an additional table was brought to expand our space: hiccup avoided. As ever, I swiftly asked whether we might get some water for the table, and despite a confirmatory reply, some fifteen thirst-ridden minutes later a second request was needed – “How many jugs?” the waitress asked. Resisting the urge to ask for 10 small jugs the size of glasses, I proffered ‘how about 4?’ ‘OK’. When our food began to arrive the hilarity of the rather mild incompetence that had gone before became oh but a sweet memory. I say began to arrive as an initial 6/10 dishes arrived together, followed 5 minutes later by a seventh. 7/10 ain’t bad I hear you cry, and being one of the lucky seven I would be inclined to agree, was it not for the fact the food bore little resemblance to that which was ordered. An order of steak that consisted of: 2 rare, 3 medium-rare and a medium, had somehow been returned as 6 burned pieces of tasteless cow meat, with not a glimmer of pink between them. Only one was sent back only to be subsequently returned some time later, cooked appropriately but with the wrong sauce and without sides. Two of the remaining three meals made an appearance as we were clearing our plates –the portions were so unimpressive that this was necessary despite the blandness. The final meal, a burger, we were informed would have to be redone as they forgo to do it the first time around, and would be 10 more minutes. Cue 30 minutes later and after several inquiries as to the elusive burger’s whereabouts, a 10th meal finally arrived. All the while the experience was made more annoying by the constant bell dinging from the kitchen pass approximately one feet away from the table to request service. The issue was not the bell itself, but rather the incessant and unanswered dings, as the level of service was clearly annoying the chef too, who presumably did not want customers to have to wait longer than necessary to receive whatever food he had randomly prepared based only loosely on their order. Indeed, the animosity between kitchen and service staff was palpable and, although entertaining, summed up the nature of the establishment. I should say, the individuals we dealt with directly seemed resigned and were apologetic, and the catastrophe of an evening was of course not their fault but a collective failing of management and process. We were awarded as 25% discount off the food which was just about a satisfactory outcome.The quote on the wall reads ‘A gourmet who thinks of calories is like a tart who looks at her watch.’ Well, I can’t speak to the latter but I can assure you the Blue Parrot does not have any gourmets!

Looking for a quick and Tatar meat fuelled meal.Asked the waiter about the steak feast. He want sure what it was as it was a new menu.Everyone opted for the stacked burger to be safe. Had hit and spivey chicken wings and southern fried chicken starters.Wings seemed boiled and then rolled in paprika. Not a pleasant texture and tasteless. Sent back and staff removed from bill. Unusually they also came with a sour cream and firkin sauce rather than the traditional blue cheese.Southern fried chicken had no spice or flavour. The closetst it got to the south was a barbecue sauce.Burgers were dry, wrong dies delivered, played cold. Had almost finished before other two mains turned up.Staff offered a free drink. Get the impression this place or chef has little interest in food or customers.I'm sure they could sell ore if the paid attention and changed the chef.

The title says it all, we had a delicious light lunch here, the staff were lovely (and very cute), the drinks delicious and everything was extremely pleasant. We would definitely go there again

I ordered a steak service was okish food came 50 mins later and was cold !! Was totally put off i was offered a free drink but i just wanted to get out and get some hot food

Me and my partner went here on the 13th February 2015 and after an hour wait for our food it came. I ordered ribs with chunky handcut chips and my partner had burger and chunky chips. They both came with thin French fries and was told they had run out of chunky handcut chips but never told us, my ribs were burnt and very dry my partners burger was okay. Then we got told they had some chunky chips in we said we didn't want them,how can they be handcut if they went and bought some more? Staff did not know what they were doing at all and although we got offered a drink on the house, we declined and left unhappy and still hungry.
