Absolutely love this place . Always made to feel welcome . Great food . Fantastic host . Every time we have visited nothing is no trouble at all . Highly recommend

From entering the front door through to leaving, the experience was a very pleasurable one. Staff were friendly and the food was amazing. Will certainly come again.

The supper club exceeded expectations last night! We were surprised to see that Mark managed to gain a day off, but we were plesently surprised that this didn't take away from the welcoming and friendly atmosphere. Mark, Brandon and the team really do get to know their customers and their preferences. We started with the duck & orange parfait and the seatrout gravlax. Wow, these starters were faultless. Perfect portion sizes and wonderful flavours. Unfortunately (due to our later booking and a fully booked restaurant) the Lamb shanks were sold out. However, they couldn't have been more accommodating by offering the lamb shank pie instead (this wasn't on the super club menu!) Again, the flavours of the meal were outstanding and definitely a temptation for us to revisit on Thursdays 'pie night'. For £25 each, the two courses filled us to the brim and were unmatched by anywhere we've recently visited. Not forgetting the bar, i don't have a great deal to review on this occasion because the cosmopolitan was so tasty that I didn't manage to make it any further through the cocktail menu! If you haven't visited already, you're missing a real hidden gem. I'd strongly advise booking, even midweek, to avoid disappointment. However, be mindful that the a la carte menu isn't available every night so keep an eye on their Facebook page or give them a call if you're unsure.

We've been twice in the last month and it's been great both times. The Sunday lunch is one of the best I've had for a long time. Friendly and attentive service as well.

We met up for lunch at the Blue Bell with some friends we hadn't seen for over a year. What can I say? The welcome was definitely the red carpet treatment. First Class. We were shown to our table in the restaurant which was beautifully appointed with linen serviettes (sadly quiet unusual these days. Cutlery was good quality and looked brand new The lunch time menu had a good selection of starters mains and desserts .As the restaurant was not very busy the service we received was top-notch. The food quality was excellent and the portions generous. Price wise I would say that the meals were excellent value for money. The staff were both knowledgeable and attentive. Overall we were highly impressed and will definitely go back there again when we meet up again.

Went for the Tuesday night supper, absolutely beautiful. £30 for 3 courses worth every penny.

Called here for the first time to try the lunch menu 2 or 3 courses. The food was excellent and full of taste compliments to the chef. Friendly staff and brilliant service throughout. Really nicely decorated and set out inside.

Just called in for a glass of wine and decided to have a starter which was fantastic the presentation was really good would highly recommend this place to get your eating experience

An amazing experience, warm welcome, excellent food, superbly presented, very very tasty, brilliant value for amazingly fresh food and great staff, extremely comfortable and exceptionally clean. Perfect.

We visited for the pub's inaugural Tuesday supper club having been on a Saturday night a few months ago which we had really enjoyed. We were warmly welcomed and made to feel comfortable, having drinks in the bar before being taken to our table. The wine list was extensive and it was clear the staff had a great knowledge of all they offered, recommending an ideal choice for us. The supper club price was 2 courses for £25 or 3 for £30. There was a small but varied selection of dishes for each course with all of them sounding delicious. We chose smoked salmon and crispy pork bao buns for starters and pork belly and sea bass for mains. They were all superb, perfectly created and tasted divine. The balance of ingredients such as the cockles with the salmon and bisque with the sea bass were delightful. Definitely finer dining than traditional pubs. Having enjoyed the first two courses so much we decided to try desserts and again weren't disappointed with the Blueberry and gin cheesecake and chocolate torte - they were absolutely wonderful! In summary, a wonderful dining experience from a team who truly care about their offering and their customers. A place you'd want to return to enjoy brilliant cuisine and support their continued development of enticing menus and exciting wine selection. For those who enjoy real ale, they also offer Timothy Taylor Landlord which is very popular and the condition of which was spot on like the rest of our experience. Well done team, best of luck with the supper club, we hope it proves very successful. We also hope to return in the not-too-distant future to enjoy your delights again. Many thanks for everything!

03/08/24 Lunch today for 4 people ~ service, food & presentation was excellent. Meals were ~ Starters:- Prawn & Crab, Chicken Liver Parfait, Whitebait. Mains:- Seabass Linguine, Venison Haunch, Sweet Potato Curry and 1 Dessert ~ Blueberry Cheesecake. All delicious ~ can highly recommend & we will definitely be back!

We are lucky enough to live within walking distance and, having tried a while ago when Mark and his team took over, we can’t stop going back. Fabulous food, great service, a superb and growing range of fine wines, and a selection of beers including a couple of hand pull real ales. All done in a friendly and welcoming atmosphere with attention to detail being obvious. Excellent all round .

Good place to visit with friends or family

This was our first visit since the refurbishment, and we have to say it was a thoroughly enjoyable experience. The decor is very relaxing ,the staff are clearly very knowledgeable and the food is stunning.

We were feeling a little peckish whilst sinking a few pints here, so we decided to order something to eat. The 'From The Land' platter was ordered, and I can categorically say it was incredible! Those scotch eggs they serve are something else and THE best I've ever had! I won't let the scotch egg steal the show though, because every morsel delivered taste in every bite. This platter was that good, I took all the pots back to the bar myself so I could pass my gratitude to the staff inside. Well done, Team Blue Bell, I cannot stress this enough, the platter was absolutely fantastic. Thank you.

Quite possibly the best Sunday lunch I think I've ever had. Everything about the main, and dessert I had was literally perfect. Really, really impressed.

Great little pub with a lovely atmosphere. The Staff made it a great experience for all, they were very attentive friendly and welcoming. Food was to a great standard, we were a party of 6 and all food came out together, hot and presented beautifully. Regarding the quality of the food. Simply put Excellent cannot fault anything at all. Popped in for a drink yesterday for the first time. Lovely place, Mark was very welcoming and helpful. Cask ales really nice and properly kept. Had a lovely Shiraz, rare to find such a good wine by the glass. We will be back and look forward to trying out the food soon.

A unique experience for the area, you will pay slightly more than your typical pub fare, but this is reflected in the quality of the food and service. I had the Sunday dinner with aged Sirloin Beef, all cooked to perfection, the additional truffle cauliflour cheese was amazing. Overall a special dining experience, that whilst slightly pricier than the average pub, is worth it.

We just happened to call in as a walk in - the staff were absolutely amazing - exceptional service, polite and nothing is too much trouble. Food was lovely 🥰 we had the Sunday lunch - will definitely visit again soon. Also this pub is dog friendly 🙌 🐶 which was great!

Mark and his team were extremely welcoming - the quality and taste food was exceptional, every dish was perfectly balanced, the atmosphere was relaxed and welcoming with a warm fireplace and friendly welcome. Mark and team were hospitable, accommodating and attentive without being overbearing or intrusive. The wine selection is incredible and Marks knowledge on wine pairing is unmatched. The Bluebell. Absolutely beautiful , the food is really good. A bit pricey but Lovely. The staff are very attentive and friendly. The Sunday lunches are really nice. And the cocktails are pretty good too.

Had Sunday lunch today as a table of 4 whilst visiting family. The food was gorgeous. The staff were so friendly and couldn't do enough for us. I live in Lancashire but will definitely visit again.

We had a lovely meal at this pub, the owner was very welcoming when we arrived and we had overall good service throughout. Food was very good - the menu changes frequently to ensure ingredients are their best. My only feedback to improve would be that my starter came with a different garnish than described (no baby gem but with basil oil added instead, which I don't personally think goes well with lemon sole). Halibut market fish of the day option was excellent. Would recommend if in the area.

First time visiting and had a Sunday lunch. Nothing but praise for Mark, the manager and his team who go above and beyond to ensure total satisfaction. Very friendly service and absolutely excellent quality food. We were visiting my sister who lives locally and although we live in Sheffield, I'm sure we'll be back again soon.

We went for lunch today- 2 sisters and husband's. It is absolutely a million miles away from how it used to be. We reserved a table online and when we arrived plenty of parking. We honestly could not have been made more welcome, all the staff and owners lovely. Menu changes every week and we all had the £19 2 course menu. Food freshly cooked and faultless, would 100% recommend and we will be back to sample the evening menu. I'm sure if there had have been a problem it would have been solved immediately as service was so good.

Secondly, very friendly and attentive bar staff, who were warm and welcoming but not overbearing! Finally, very dog friendly (in the area where dogs are allowed)! Highly recommend!

Popped in whilst we were out for a drink, staff were super friendly and polite. The pub was clean, no empty glasses or plates to be seen. Toilets were absolutely immaculate, the toilet roll had even been folded over and embossed. There is definitely attention to detail here and clearly a lot of pride taken in the pubs appearance. In all honesty I would fail to think of one thing negative to say about our brief visit here. 🙌🍺🧼

We dined here shortly after re-opening under new management. Mark and his staff were absolutely faultless, very friendly and attentive. The food we ordered was superb. I started with pork cheeks, which simply melted in the mouth. Followed with a Wagyu sirloin - cooked to perfection. A fantastic sticky toffee pudding rounded the meal off. The portion sizes are generous proper Yorkshire portions.

I have no complaints other than no John smiths it needs a decent beer , lager is ok for some but not all . I won't return unless one is reinstated . This happened once before and the pub failed .Good luck to the proprietor things are tough I know . Its a shame as we have waited a while for it to re-open but I personally want to drink my choice not what's forced upon me . A short walk or taxi to town gives me that option , and the price difference pays for my taxi just saying .

UNDER NEW MANAGEMENT, opening night delight. After visiting previously under previous management, this was a standard pub serving standard pub food. What the new management has created is a warm welcoming gastro pub and they do it very well. Throughout the night the staff were brilliant, very attentive and made sure our glasses were never empty. The food was nothing short of outstanding. The brisket was so tasty and tender. The steak was perfectly cooked and so was the pork. The best food I have had in a long time Absolute gem of a place and we will have no hesitation in returning

It was my first time visiting this pub, which is under new management and has had some refurbishment. We've driven past it so many times in the past but never fancied popping in, but the new paint job 🔵 and lighting 💡 was so inviting we had to give it a try. On entering the pub 🍻 we were greeted by the new owner and then ushered to the bar whilst they set up our reserved table. The log fire 🔥 was in full *Christmas mode* 🔥🎄🔥and was lovely to see and hear it crackling away, the place was lovely and warm. We sat down and reviewed the menu. There were plenty of options for our party (3 adults and our 4 children) The service from the waitress was good, friendly and prompt. We opted for one of the share platters, "ribs and steak" (photos attached). The portion certainly filled us. The kids had pizza and chips, the portions were fair for the price. The mains were so good we stayed for deserts also, which were really nice, homemade apple crumble and bread and butter pudding 🍮 happy bellies 🫄 The place itself was clean and tidy. And the staff were constantly cleaning, taking empty glasses and plates from tables. I would recommend booking a table, as it got fairly busy. I believe the contact no. for premises is not working, but they have been made aware of this. We booked through their Facebook page and they came back to us within the hour. Toilets were clean, I'm sure there will be plans to refurbish these as the new owners get into it. Disabled toilet 🚻 next to main toilets. We'd definitely visit again, thanks for having us 🤩. We booked a table weeks before Mother’s Day we was contacted the week before asking to change the time of our reservation ordered a bottle of Prosecco didn’t have any there was an awful smell near the carvery which we soon discovered was from the lamb which was off so I didn’t eat my dinner it put me off took 3 attempts to get the bill right the family on the next table found paper in the mash potato safe to say we won’t be returning

Staff are abysmal with rotten attitudes. The food is overpriced and undercooked. I once paid near £6 for a pizza and got a small undercooked Chicago town mini frozen pizza. On top of the disgusting food and poor service, the amount of known offenders that are granted access to that pub every night is vile. Blue Bell is a low tier pub with scam raffles and no morals whatsoever. Don’t waste your time

The staff deserve the rating because they are so attentive, friendly, and helpful. We visited for Sunday lunch. We phoned beforehand to ask about a vegan lunch. The chef welcomed feedback and popped over to see if we were enjoying our meals. We were offered a choice of seats, and the bill was reasonable.

I always ask myself if I'd go back before having over 3 stars. I won't be back. The staff are friendly. We stopped in as we are local after the refurbishment. Sat down had a menu and got told there was curry night. They had 2 curries one meat one veg so didn't pick that. Ordered the steak pie also fish and chips. Server came back and told us no pie fair enough so went for the steak rare. When it arrives after 40mins the steak was nearly well done there was a full clove of garlic hidden in the salad that nearly put me out 😂 maybe my fault. Chips on the fish dish weren't cooked through warm but hard. The sauces were nice. If you're charging premium prices this shouldn't be happening. No one checked through the meal if everything was OK. 2 meals and 3 drinks nearly £50.

Only drank here at the moment but the refurb by the new management is excellent and the staff are really friendly

very disappointed,was still sat waiting for a table after 40mins,was sat with our outdoor coats on as it was very cold,ended up leaving our drinks and going elsewhere for food,won't be going back .
