This is a cute coffee shop, based in the lovely village of Tickhill. First time dining here, we were looking for a breakfast/brunch spot and decided to try H's cafe... Bright, clean, nice decor, inviting cafe. Staff were friendly, polite and smiled, which is sooooo important. We have visited many places where the staff look miserable. We only had basic breakfast of toast, however, the bread was rustic and unlike the cheap sliced bread you can find in other coffee shops. The lattes were lovely, we drink lattes all the time and know a good one from bad, these were perfect. Overall a really nice experience, we will definitely visit this place again for breakfast. Just a FYI for anyone wishing to try this place, w/c 15/7/24 the cafe was currently having some refurbishments and was closed. We are looking forward to dining there again when it reopens, if it hasn't already.

I've recently discovered this fab little Deli. First time I went with friends for a long lazy lunch, quiche and the red onion salad. I enjoyed it so much I returned a couple of weeks later with my husband for breakfast. I had mushrooms, goats cheese and spinach on sour dough toast. Hands down the best breakfast I've had for a long time. Staff are friendly and the place is spotless.

I was out with my two young children feeding the ducks and playing on the park in Tickhill, when we were looking for somewhere to have lunch. We were quite wet and muddy so I was a bit apprehensive about going into a cafe for food but I’m so glad we did - we were welcomed by the most lovely woman who went out of her way to shuffle tables around for the pram and the staff were so friendly that I relaxed straight away. They had children’s cutlery etc and both me and my toddler enjoyed a nice lunch whilst my baby enjoyed watching the other customers in this popular little cafe. We will definitely visit again! :)

I recently had a baby shower at H's Cafe and Bistro and I couldn't have been happier with how it went. The quality of the food was excellent and it was all made fresh on site that morning. The staff went above and beyond to make sure the day was extra special. They were on hand checking that everything was ok and frequently topping up the guests drinks etc. The venue was decorated beautifully for Christmas which added extra charm. I highly recommend H' Cafe and Bistro

Tickhill is a lovely town just a few miles from Doncaster with gorgeous architecture and some charming eateries. Cafe H Deli is nice looking outside and in, and the staff are friendly and professional. We ordered two coffees and a water, two ham sandwiches and a goat cheese/caramelised onion salad. One of the coffees was cool. Both tasted okay. Towards the end of drinking our coffees the food arrived. To be honest, grabbing a sandwich from Tesco's would have been wiser. Hardly any ham at all and a few salted crisps to one side. The salad was over cooked in its oils, hardly any cheese, no bread and tasted like old salad. It was presented in a small cerise style bowl. We agreed that we would pay and leave and never return but not make a fuss. Our bill was £27 in cash for a meal that was substandard to anything we could have prepared at home. Minuscule portions and genuinely, a complete rip off. Shocking — ghastly — poor quality — overpriced

Popped back to this café for a coffee today. Alas, they’re still spoiling the milk by overheating it. 70°C Max if you’re reading this! ********** Tasty food, although it's rather pricey for what you get, e.g. "Full English" £9.95 (no beans or black pudding, drinks extra). Coffee is okay, but inconsistent (they tend to overheat the milk which affects the taste).

Visited today and was very disappointed. Three sandwiches, one soup and four soft drinks for £40!!! White bread was stale and the fillings were meagre. No side garnish apart from half a dozen crisps and this took 35 minutes to arrive despite only three more tables in there who had already being served prior to us sitting down. As a local I feel sad to write this but will not be visiting again

Visited this place yesterday for spot of lunch as I was working nearby. I was pleasantly greeted by a lady behind the counter surrounded by homemade cakes. The menu was simple and I went for the special. 750 is quite steep for a sandwich but it did include some crisps. 😜😜😄. My only complaint is how much they charge for standard cans of pop. Nearly £3 is way too expensive and put me off returning. I'm not frugal but sometimes places overcharge for basic cheap to buy items. I hope this feedback is taken in board so it doesn't surprise anyone else. Great sandwich BTW. Thank you Andrew. Leeds

I had my usual BLT which was very nice, lovely bread, crispy lettuce and bacon with tomato and a Mayo dressing. The wife enjoyed her ham salad sandwich which both looked to be freshly made. The coffee was good, all at a reasonable price. There is no wonder the cafe was full. I did notice that they take reservations too. We will be back.

Cafe opens at 9am. We arrived at 9:30. Only 3 tables occupied (10 people) when we got there and we were told there’d be a slight delay because everyone had arrived at once. Appeared the cafe was unprepared for custom on a Saturday morning but we appreciated being informed about the delay. Maybe the cafe needs to think about preparing before customers arrive?! We finished our coffees and still no food after 30 mins. At least we were asked if we would like another coffee. Then we were told that they had no muffins which seemed odd as we weren’t told this when we ordered 30 minutes ago and nobody before us had ordered muffins so, can only think that they’d never had them. After 30 minutes, still only one table had received their food! Due to the wait I would have expected my second coffee to have been on the house; sadly not! If the owner wasn’t in then they need to know. If the owner was in, they should be embarrassed. They could do a lot, lot better.

This place is nice enough and the home made cakes do look good, but the coffee is dreadful. I had a latte which was just like a bad milky coffee - I’m not sure what beans they use, but it just tasted like a poor blend. The texture of the latte was completely wrong - The picture on the right below is from h’s and the left is one of my local coffee shops in a city centre (Birmingham). Both coffees were the same price. Tickhill traders really need to differentiate themselves if they are going to bring people into the village.

Nice but disappointingly over priced! We came here looking for a nice place to have a cuppa on a wet day. Ended up disappointed and left wishing they were doing it better. We had two teas, a long time before out food arrived.(£2.50 each) When the food arrived, Breakfast bacon muffin (£5.50) & Mushrooms with spinach on toast (£6.00) This is where the real disappointment begins.. Firstly the Breakfast muffin was tiny, a slice of bacon and a fried egg! £5.50!! Really.. Nothing else just that for a 'over priced breakfast muffin' The mushrooms and spinach didn't fare too well either, 2x slices granary toast, 3x small mushrooms sliced up, handful of spinach. Not even seasoned. £6.00 please!!! We would normally have cake, but at £4.50 a slice of Bakewell tart, Carrot cake, Brownie, scone, jam and cream.. we decided against it.. £16.50 for a very over priced, under supplied product. The staff were polite, it's clean and has a modern feel, but over charging for you get (or don't) is what ruins a place like this.. Go for tea, just don't eat! Unless you're looking at taking out a loan.

Took my mother for afternoon tea... I wish I hadn’t bothered! Yes the sandwiches were tasty but as for everything else, well read this and then you decide whether or not you go. I had booked the table but we had a 45 minute wait before getting our food... the tea had arrived 15 mins earlier so was cold I had to askfor more hot water. My mother had a glass of prosecco but wasn’t offered tea as well as. We were only allowed 2 sandwich fillings ( between us not each). I asked for a plain scone as I don’t like sultanas but was told they don’t do them and there aren’t many sultanas so just pick them out! We had 2 slices of Bakewell tart and 2 slices of chocolate tart which we brought home.... The price for this £21.00 I bet you’re thinking well that’s not bad BUT what about EACH? We could have had a sit down meal and a glass of prosecco and a cup of tea EACH. There wasn’t even a tablecloth on the table. I won’t be going again, there are much nicer places that offer far better value for money. VERY DISAPPOINTING!!

Dreadful - place is just a playground for un-controllable screaming kids now. Used to be superb, but an invisible landlord and drunken staff have dragged it to the bottom of all of the pubs in the area. The only time worth visiting is Friday and Saturday but only after the curtains and front door is locked ( back door is open till 3-5 am ) for paying customers - landlord is so drunk by then if he can still stay on his stool he will serve you - I'm sure its illegal to serve when drunk and charge for drinks if its a private 'lock in' - but he has been doing it for years and the brewery turn a blind eye to it. As such if you are bladdered and need some more alcohol - this is the place to go

we booked here for our 20th wedding anniversary party i wasnt happy with reeds at all and to be honest it spoilt our special night Firstly receptionist rang friday morning to tell us that we would have to move out of our room on the saturday and be put into a double room because they had double booked, i had booked the room june 2023 the other couple aug 24 when i told her i had booked a year before them i was told i had to move because she couldnt get hold of them and i could get a bottle in my room an half price for the double i booked a year before the couple so i should never have been phoned and put in that situation i was upset and if it had been the case i would have asked for a refund and moved the party as i was that annoyed and stressed i had to then brush my teeth in the bath after learning once started doing them the sink plug didnt work, also when my partner got a bath it flooded all over the floor we was told we could have the function room at 1pm on the saturday only to go down to find it wasnt ready no one would be in till 6pm when the party started at 7 so we then had to rearrange all tables which we had no idea how they went and try an sort table clothes ourselves much to the pastures managers disgust when he found out we then came down to have our party and just as we got there we was met by our family but was rudely interupted by the bar staff telling us that we had to pay the dj right now at £290, we said that it was £250 which he did not beleive us so i then had to go through my phone to show the other member of staff i was telling the truth by showing her my tx from the manager the dj was shocking people was moaning and when we asked for more up to date music he played 2 songs then went back to playing songs no one really knew as for the food i was absolutley disgusted i had paid around £16 per person for 60 people so you expect each person to be able to get 1 of everything but there was hardly anything available ,half of my guest did not eat anything due to not wanting anything so should be plenty but i went up i didnt have hardly anything as it was practically empty, my husband had to complain to see if they was bringing anymore out which we had to stand around waiting for them to fetch 2 more pizzas, we was lucky if there was even £100 of food then to top it off an hour after bringing it out they took it away surely it should have been left incase anyone wanted a bit of something later no one collected the plates from the tables so they was left all night and no one collected glasses other than once at around 20 past 11 all in all i am not happy with the service and the treatment we was given we was looking to book in november for a big party but i will now be going elsewhere as i was that disappointed and upset

Becoming one of my favorite places to go for a great atmosphere and amazing food. All sauces are fab and the cod bites are generous. I can't fault anything about them.
