Food was very nice not many people in there very good value for money

The Thai food is absolutely spot on. Flavours perfect, delicious. Quickly served. Staff friendly and attentive. The surroundings are great too, proper looked after pub with a nice ambience.

Great cocktails and Thai food, definitely worth a visit

Fantastic pub/restaurant for authentic Thai food and to indulge in the many beverages available. For anyone that's travelled and spent time in Thailand the food here has the same feel and experience as if you was in Thailand it self. It's a shame you can only give 5 stars as it would be 10 stars. Been 3 times recently and every time the food and service has been spectacular. Big highlights are the Thai sticky ribs for starters. The meat falls off the bone and is delicious and delightful with every bite and brilliant for sharing between a small group. For the main, curries are brilliant, will suggest the penang or massaman myself, if you can handle the spice or up for a challenge, try it! , my partner had the Pad Thai and her quote is 'This is super delicious' A member of the group is vegetarian and they was very impressed with amount of options available. Service was great all around, very friendly people and the place and every table was full. Atmosphere was great and ambient and feel of the pub is warm and welcoming and well presented. Thanks again to the staff at the blue anchor for a great experience.

Live music with Buckler's Reel playing. Plenty of room to watch, dance, or listen from a distance. Friendly people.

We booked here during a visit to Hove to see family, based on its good reviews and we weren’t disappointed. One side of the building is a local, friendly pub and the other side is a Thai restaurant. The staff were all lovely, very friendly and welcoming, the service was excellent and the food was amazing, some of the best Thai food I’ve tasted at a very reasonable price. We will definitely return on our next visit.

Perfect for a cold pint, and superb Tom Yum soup. Edit: I'm back in the UK for a few weeks. I arrived yesterday and the first thing I wanted to do was come to Blue Anchor for the Tom Yum soup. So here I am, and the soup is even better than I remembered. Worth the 13 hour flight for sure.

Some locals were a bit obstructive. It didn't make us feel welcome.

Excellent service every time I recommend it to anyone I introduced it to 1 of my best friend Ian Carter and a friend Robert Gale. 😀.

As a pub this place is rather average however on Tuesday to Saturdays the place is essentially a Thai eatery with amazingly tasty food. The choices are extensive, the food always fresh and well prepared and the team who prepare it are super helpful. All of the staff are great and prices are all very reasonable.

The pub itself had a nice feel and the service by the bar staff was excellent. The food however was disappointing, the thai fish cakes were very synthetic in taste. The beef special, with basil and mint, was nice and spicy but the balance wasn't right, it was too fragrant. The noodle dish was again spicy but lacked in any kind of flavour and was really disappointing.

Having got no cooker or hobs for a couple of weeks my and my partner are having to eat out or get takeaways, he mentioned this place as it’s just around the corner from where we live so we decided to give it a go. So worth it £20 for two people and that included a starter, Thai green curry and a soup with added rice. Not too spicy but great in favours will def be going back soon.

Thai food was excellent. Panang curry was excellent. Massaman curry was good as well. Chef understands gluten free well and modified the kids meal noodles which were amazing. Attached pub seems nice but means under 18s are discouraged after 6pm.

We really enjoyed our dinner here. Tasty food that was about the best we've had since our holiday in Thailand and friendly staff.

This place is a hidden gem. Really good, authentic, thai food hidden away in a local pub. Really good value( £10 for main including rice). Great service.

Yummy Thai cuisine. I discovered this gem through a colleague and I was not disappointed. The service is quick and the drinks at the bar are reasonably priced. I had a chicken penang curry with rice for my main which was very tasty. There is live music on occasion which attracts a decent crowd. From Brighton, you can easily get here on the 49,1, 1a and 700 bus or the train. Definitely dine here again.

The staff and customers were so helpful With my disabilities . I am vision impaired With a guide dog who they had a bowl water waiting at my table for him when we arrived , when my food come the staff told me where everything was on the plate , which was helpful , the food was great tasting to ,

Drunkenly stumbling down the street and desperately needing the loo, I was told this place had a customer toilet. Although I didn’t want want food they said I could happily use their toilets. Great generosity. For that I ordered some chips. Amazing staff. A big 5/5 for them. However, this is my chip review. They were ok. A time treat when there’s nothing else available, but wouldn’t be my first option.

Had a nice meal here. The wrong dish was sent out but the waiter came over immediately and apologised and a replacement very quickly arrived. Food tasty at reasonable prices.

Thai food is always good and reasonably priced. Drinks are okay too. But lovely atmosphere! And dog friendly!

Can’t even explain the flavours from the kitchen! My pallet will never be the same. Cocktails and pints on point and even a beautiful wine selection! Staff are absolutely lovely and so helpful! 100 stars to everyone here! We will be back most definitely!

We were on tour from Canada and got a recommendation. This place’s food is to die for! Beer selection fairly priced cold and proper! He’s to to staff and everyone involved to making this place what it is. The blue anchor will hold a special place in our hearts forever and ever. Thank you for feeding hungry musicians on a budget

Absolutely the best Thai food in the city. Pints are crisp and everyone you meet is absolutely amazing. Any occasion can be accommodated for. We can’t even describe how amazing every moment we had with our friends and those closest to us. Well done to this lot. They are all amazing!

The food was excellent. I had the yellow Thai curry, which was superb. My husband had the green Thai curry and loved it too. At £9.50 per meal it was good value. Oh and the staff are really friendly as well!

The food and the service was wonderful as usual

This will be a partial post, as I was performing at the venue. However, the staff was extremely great. I didn't get a chance to enjoy the food. As a person that was not a regular or a local, I was welcomed with open arms by both the staff and the patrons. The venue is right on the seafront. I really want to go back down and explore the area more, and order some food from them! But they're very hospitable and have a great local crowd.

Over charged by £4 on a round of two drinks unknowingly until bought exact same drinks on second round. When questioned the staff with proof of receipt on phone banking app it was dismissed and ignored.

I do so love this pub. Old school with a fantastic thia chef who recognises lovers of good food. Proper thai A small beer garden, pool and even a bar billiards table! Standard draughts are served. Unpretentious place. Friendly staff.

1st time I went here and the amazing Rooster Tail rock group were playing live. Staff and fellow patrons were more than welcoming and made me feel at home and for someone who suffers anxiety, this was a massive confidence boost. Had the best night ever. Not too expensive either. Highly recommended..

This was a short stop for lunch on a bike ride through the area, kitchen was closed by great friendly and helpful service .

After a few dissapointing experiences I was thinking going out to eat is not worth it after covid... the thai food served at The Blue Anchor proved me wrong! Fantastic choices, friendly staff and absolutely delicious food for a reasonable price... rice was included 😉🤣 and presented in a ❤ly way. Thanks for a fantastic experience 😃

Had mixed starters and Thai green curry, wife had stir fry. All dishes were excellent in taste and portions. You would be disappointed or hungry when you leave. One of the best I've had. Staff very nice too.

Nice Thai food at a price, and friendly enough staff. Not an extensive drinks list though, but I had a very refreshing cocktail. The pub's atmosphere sadly was lacking a bit.

Absolutely fantastic meal, with great starters. We had the sea bream/bass, crispy duck, and mixed seafood: all very tasty (though the seafood stir-fry could have done with a little more fish), but all in all one of the best Thai meals I have eaten round here. We will be back!

I've reviewed here before, but that was pre-Covid. We went there to eat again this evening and it was great. Social distancing is very well recognised, hand sanitizer plentiful and the staff wear masks. The food is really good and it's lovely to see Apple again. She certainly knows how to cook up great Thai dishes. Stacey who served us is really friendly and welcoming as well. Lovely place and great to return

This place is so welcoming. Food authentic and very well priced. Water given to you for the table without having to ask. One side of bar more casual and the other, for the more relaxing candlelit dinner. Would be perfect for a romantic evening or just with friends. I went on a Saturday and had a very pleasurable meal. Had a lovely meal here on a Saturday evening with family to celebrate a birthday. Table was decorated beautifully for when we arrived and the staff accommodated for two extra unexpected people in our group which was awesome. Food was delicious even with 11 of us to feed and only 1 chef doing any of the cooking. Massive thanks to Dan and the Team for helping make this birthday memorable for us
