Thai restaurant offering delicious dishes and excellent cocktails. This was our first time dining at a Thai restaurant, and it was a success. The service was efficient and the waitress was friendly, and she spoke French. Excellent value for money.

Great food, wine, service and good value for money

Nice change from fish and chips at the seaside. Spice, flavour, and pepper. freshy made. I had the duck noodles, which was great. The portion size was a little on the smaller side for a noodle dish. Everyone else is dish was on the satisfying side, so I'm not going to reduce my score or quibble. I would definitely recommend this establishment.

Guy serving was rude, unfriendly and unwelcoming.

We had a lovely lunch here after a shopping trip. The food was delicious - the only reason I've not given 5 stars is I wasn't expecting to crunch into a hot chilli in a mild dish. But the waitress brought me a glass of milk, which helped.

I love my Thai food and like to seek out Thai restaurants to try when I am visiting somewhere. The Giggling Squid was one of my top finds. The food was very nice. I particularly enjoyed the caramelised pork belly starter but the pad kee mao was good too. I prefer pad see ew but good to try something different. What made the Giggling Squid for me was the service. It is a relaxed environment but the service was top notch. I was served by a few different people but all were cheerful and the service attentive which is great when you are eating alone. Nobody wants to drag it out when alone. I want to call out Daniella who greeted me when I arrived, seated me, and served me most frequently on the night. She was so happy and smiley which makes a big difference, again, particularly when eating alone. She was lovely and a credit to the Giggling Squid. Thank you.

Good food, good staff, excellent gin n tonic

Have eaten there a few times and food was always good. However, the last meal we had there was decidedly average. The portions were small and my main course of chilli basil chicken quite bland. Also seats ripped and looking like they needed repair. Service was very good however, so maybe it was just the chefs day off. We’ll try them again as hopefully it was just a blip.

Average experience tonight, lack of attention from service staff with forgotten items as well as main dishes served at a tepid temperature. Vegetable dish undercooked also. Staff appeared rushed even though a Tuesday evening. Happy to leave and won’t be returning.

Waited an age to be seated, an age for menus and then had a screaming child, left hungry and frustrated

Not bad, felt a bit rushed until others came in at the end of the night. Not suitable for anyone with disabilities...due to the amount of stairs to the toilet. Lovely quirky building spread over several floors...

I popped in earlier for a quick light lunch with my partner, and just had a few of the tapas options. We didn't make a reservation, and were still sat at a very nice upstairs table. The food was very good, especially the salt and pepper squid. I'd definitely want to return here for a full meal another time, it was a good experience, and the servers were very nice

The food was so good and the service was amazing! The staff were lovely and managed to squeeze us in on a Saturday evening without a booking. My friends and I liked it so much that we visited two nights in a row!

We celebrated a birthday here and had a great time. The atmosphere was perfect, food was amazing and the service was lovely. We had the papaya salad, red curry chicken and the lamb - all delicious.

Great food and the service we received from Danni was excellent- made for a very enjoyable Sunday afternoon for our family. Allergies were very well catered for too.

We have been there before and it has been great but unfortunately we went as a group last night, the waitress seemed stressed and shouty, my seafood was tepid which worried me because of food poisoning, so i sent it back, when it was presented back to me, the mussels had obviously been put back in the water and were watery, they had lost all their flavour and the rest of the dish was chewy , i didnt want to make a further complaint at the time as i could see the restaurant was busy and also didn’t want to embarrass the group i was with, we will book again another time, hopefully we will have a better experience as we have had in the past.

Place a bit too small to feel at ease and food is not necessarily mind blowing compared to other Thai restaurants… I find it slightly overrated and definitely not enough vegetarian options.

Went last night, the food is good but not worth the money. Staff are friendly except for one, who rudely asked us if we were done with our food then cleared the table aggressively. The people on the table next to us left as we were paying the bill. She carried on cleaning the rest of the tables aggressively and making it clear that she wanted us out as she wanted to clean up. We had just finished our food and were getting ready to leave. She didn’t need to be rude.

A great midweek treat for the family. First of all, the service we received was excellent. We needed some advice when ordering and the staff were fantastic and very helpful, they clearly have a great understanding of the menu. We ordered a selection of dishes to share between the three of us and all were very tasty and fresh, the chicken satay and Thai salad being two favourites. We will definitely be back !

The lovely Daniella made us feel welcome and happy to be at the giggling squid! Food was great! We both devoured our food in minutes and found ourselves sipping our wine. The food and service really made it quite the experience.

We met up with a friend in Brighton and decided we would go to The Giggling Squid for lunch. It had been nearly 2 years since we had last been there. Knowing that the restaurant itself is quite "snug", we booked a table in advance and were lucky enough to be seated at the window table on the ground floor. We were warmly greeted by Jack and made welcome. He also checked whether any of us had any food allergies. The menu has obviously changed since our last visit but we were more than happy with the selection of lunchtime tapas sets. My husband and friend chose the Giggling Set whilst I had the Royal Set and we shared some prawn crackers to nibble on whilst our food was cooked. For drinks we had tap water and my husband and I both had a pot of jasmine tea. Perfect for lunchtime. Our food arrived quite quickly as there weren't too many other diners in the restaurant at that time (although it soon started to fill up). Everything was beautifully presented and cooked to perfection. Unfortunately our friend had to leave some of her stir fried vegetables as she has to eat her vegetables "soggy". Jack was concerned that she hadn't enjoyed her meal and when she explained, he suggested that next time she should ask for her vegetables to be "overcooked" so that she could digest them. It was so kind of him and our friend was very impressed. We did not have any room for dessert, but perhaps next time? Thanks to Jack, and his team, for a very enjoyable lunchtime visit. Hopefully we won't leave it so long until we come back again.

Lovely styled restaurant and we were lucky to be in a nook on the second floor . Service was quick and efficient and the food was so so delicoius. Really good vegan options and such a lot of choice . I had the beef masaman curry and it was good as the ones I had Thailand -could not fault anything at all

Such a lovely place! We celebrated birthday here, food, atmosphere and survive were amazing! Lots of great vegan options 😋 We got vegetable red curry (delicious), salt and pepper mushrooms (out of this world - get it!), spring roll (nice), Thai-ranchini(ok, tbh I wouldn’t recommend them), sticky rice (great). People working there are really lovely as well ☺️ thank you so much, we will be back ❤️

One of the greatest Thai dining experience in Brighton. Food is always great and the service and atmosphere of the place is always fantastic too! I would almost recommend every single small plate dish especially the pork and the squid of course

Just a quick dinner before a gig. Went in without a reservation and was lucky to grab a quick table in a full restaurant just in time before the queue started to form for dinner. Had the salmon paneang curry and it was incredible - generous portion that tasted absolutely amazing. Could've done with a few more veggies on the garnish but other than that flawless. Staff were super friendly and efficient and was a really cozy atmosphere. Will definitely be coming back.

Great food but more expensive than Worthing

We had a lovely meal here for the second year in a row. I had a jasmine tea which was a big serving and I appreciated that. starters were fresh and hot and prepared and served quickly. We both had rice sides and were given individual portions instead of a sharing bowl which we preferred. The drinks were nice too, Thai beer. The service was friendly and warm.

I would give this restaurant three stars. While the service was very friendly and the restaurant itself has a lovely ambiance right in the heart of Brighton, which is a definite plus, the overall experience fell a bit short. The presentation of the food was appealing, but the taste seemed to lack something essential. For the price we paid, the quality didn’t quite match up, and there are tastier and more affordable options in the area.

The food was good, and the flavors of the sauces were excellent. We ordered the Massaman Chicken, Pad Thai Chicken, and skewers. However, the chicken pieces in the dishes were quite thin—I missed having larger chunks of chicken. The desserts were very good!

When making our order I let the waitress know of my allergies to bell peppers. I had ordered a thai pad thai. I was told to order something else as they could not take out the bell peppers??? The question is why are there bell peppers in your pad thai? The whole QR code allergy list made us busy & frustrated we ended up leaving as if you can't suit your customers needs, then another restaurant will. Please Check authentic Thai food ingredients list... bell peppers are simply not in a pad thai.

Food was sub par this time, there was half a box of uncooked tofu in my pad Thai and since they changed the prawn crackers, they are hotter than their chilli sauce, which made them incredibly hot. Not pleasant. Please have option to offer non chilli dishes as no modifications can be made and some people can be extremely sensitive!

Great food and drinks we had the 4 tapas lunch platters. They aren't really designed for sharing (more like for one person having 4 small things) but we shared anyway and it still worked. Great stuff.

We was visiting Brighton for a show and wanted Thai food and found this little gem of a restaurant. It does get busy so would recommend booking a table but we risked it and wow the food was amazing !! Everything was fresh and full of flavors if you are in the town pop in and try it.

Love this place. Our 2nd visit, after first visiting about 14-15 months ago, & it didn’t disappoint this time either. Excellent welcome, service, food, & drinks. It’s certainly our ‘Go To’ place, when in Brighton. Only slight, & I mean VERY slight negative, was being sat right near the window in the main reception/bar area, there was quite a draft by that window.

Stunning food. Having tried a few other Gigging Squid outlets, this was the latest addition to our list and the best so far. Immensely enjoyable dishes served with big smiles. So many great dishes, so little time…!

Bustling, tiny and unsurprisingly busy Thai in ye olde quarter. We chose the tapas (4 wee bowls on 1 plate) "set" and both were stunning. Good beer selection too. Cooked to order so don't be in a hurry....

Very nice place to chill and eat. Friendly staff, great service. The sauce is quite heavy. But the sweet jungle colada was really good, u can literally taste the coconut water. Very refreshing drink for summer.

Sadly I just put 3 star's cos of food. I am so sorry for this great looking restaurant and very friendly and hard working stuff, what is absolutely great but food is queat far from proper Thai taste.... I'll maybe order wrong food but mostly good Thai restaurant have good,, som tam,, it's a papaya salad, must popular in Thailand and there is taste like I make in home without not have any ideas what I doing. Sorry, taste is like nothing. Sticky rice is fine, not best, not bad, and this pork knee.....hmm, it's ok, doesn't extra taste but ok. Don't know if this restaurant have proper Thai chefs ( for me probably not) and it's sadly say if you like real proper Thai food...... I can't recommend.

Spectacular...wonderful atmosphere with food to die for, the salt and chilli mushroom starter is possibly the most delicious starter I have tasted in years. The whole experience is special, the staff are kind and attentive, and the restaurant itself is a perfect combination of style and cosiness. The atmosphere is relaxed and the place is spotless. Prefer Giggling Squid to any City restaurant including the Ivy...

We arrived at 8.. change table as we were behind the door..ended with a window table nice.. order a starter said we come back to the mains.. then told the starter had prawns in so changed that.. thought we'd ordered mains at this point waited an hour after finishing starters to two waiter staff telling us we hadn't order.. so our original waitstress came and said it again I said we had with she no you didn't this went on for a while.. so we said can we order and will it be long she said yes..hmmm The food arrived which point we'd been there an hour and half.. I probably looked defeated, at this point the waitstress then pushed the food at us and away saying do you want it or not.. we complained, we were appoligiesed too and service charged removed but that was it.. Although the food was good not sure we will ever go back. Shame shame as we've been wanting to experience it for a while.

Amazing food and service, lovely prawns, chicken, there’s a cosy room with just a single table in it that would be perfect for a couple going there. The rest is nice too with an intimate but not cramped dining room, great location for after shopping

Dare I say the best Thai meal in Brighton...

Absolutely delicious food every time I visit! My second time in the Brighton restaurant. The flavours are amazing. It can be pricey if you order wine but if you stick to soft drinks it will bring the price down. Our bill was £118 we had a main course each the sea bass and the prawns, rice, noodles and a veg side. One large beer that we shared, bottle of wine two mini desserts and two Irish coffees.

Great menu, food was delicious and service was great.

Food was unreal! Best squid I've had, unbelievably soft. Pork cheeks were melt on your mouth tender! The staff were friendly and helpful. Can highly recommend the street food sharer and pork cheeks. Also the prawn and soft shell crab curry if you like spice as it is hot but an explosion of flavour. Will definitely be going back!
