We only went for a couple of drinks and the staff were fantastic. The first time I went in and was quite nervous as it was the first time I'd been anywhere for a while. I was reassured by the staff at the door who took me though all of the measures in place. Thank you !

Where do I start, the work pub trip from heaven! I was gathered by a warm and bubbly atmosphere and at this point I knew I was in for a good night! The solo bar maid was certainly amazing. I believe Erin was her name, pulling a excellent pint was definitely her game! She made sure we enjoyed our night and spared no effort! 10/10 would come againDyos

Met a few friends to catch-up and try different beers. The welcome was immediate and friendly. Decent crowd of people. Gaz, the barman, welcomed us, listened as we told him what types of beer we liked and advised us of possible choices; we tasted a couple and quickly chose. Service was great. Everyone was friendly. My first visit. I’ll be visiting again. Thanks Gaz.

It's been a while since we visited, considering the last time was very underwhelming. Things have improved though, I'm happy to say. Service and food quality were much better this time around. They could do with removing the juvenile bathroom humour on the inside of the ladies room stalls. Literally.... jokes about pooing painted on the doors. Who thought that was a clever idea??? So chavvy. Despite that, we'll surely be back to watch MUTD.

Went there for the first time today as we were celebrating my nieces 18th Birthday.Asked if they were still serving food and was told yes so we ordered deserts and drinks. My 18 year old niece was at the bar with me when I ordered and so was the Deputy Manager. We were served our drinks and food then the woman who served us came over, the time at this point was 9.10pm and said she needed to see id's as it was after 9pm and children were not allowed in. We didn't have any children with us.. My niece wasn't drinking and but as she hadn't brought id we agreed to leave once we'd finished our food and drinks. 10 mins later the deputy came over and asked us to leave before we'd finished. We asked why her staff took our order and money at 9pm and didn't say anything to us regarding their no children policy to which she tried to say the order was taken before 9pm, which it wasn't. Very disappointed with the way this was dealt with spoiling our evening.

We had 45mins to spare ahead of attending a wedding at Sale RO so looked around for somewhere to have a quick drink. This pub is directly opposite and was perfect. We had a coffee and soft drink and sat watching doing some people observing guests at the previous wedding. Drinks fine and very reasonably priced. Others were eating - can't comment on how the food tasted but it looked good. Toilets are downstairs which proved a slight challenge in some very high-heeled shoes! Everywhere nice and clean - would recommend.

We went here for a few drinks with friends from sale as we had arranged to meet them for lunch at the bridge which We find a lovely place . After we were served ( not in order ) we tried to kook for a table but ended to having to sit outside in the cold on what I can only say ate the worst seating I’ve ever come across . Very old rusty table and chairs , cold and uncomfortable. It might not have been so bad if the heaters outside actually worked. We eventually got a table in side.

Saturday evening, from the outside good first impression, attractive looking bar and good location....but inside service was very slow, the place wasnt busy at all, but staff seemed to be conferring with each other around how to operate the tills, the real ale choice practically non existent (three empty handpumps - so only one on, which was distinctly average/past its best). Other customers semed to be very grumpy about it too.

The menu looks good and as a pub it's not a bad spot, but that's where it stops. The standard and quality of food only leaves a sad feeling as you know you would have been better off staying at home and making a sandwich. There were Yorkshire puddings that would have been better placed being used as a brick to build a house. We complained about this and we were told they had been made fresh, clearly they were made fresh a week ago. The kids burgers were horrendous and clearly the quality needs to be improved, as you know there is an issue when your hungry boy who will eat anything doesn't want to eat it. My pie had pastry sides that a car would struggle to drive through. The other meals people had didn't get finished and we all felt that the food was very very poor. The overall view was that we would not go back for food every again, so unfortunately for the Block and Gasket it will just be beer going forward.

Thought we'd try it for lunch based on the free pint with a pie offer in the window. They have a few choices of pie including beef & ale and venison. I was surprised to see £7.99 on the till having ordered the venison pie (My friend ordered the Beef & Ale) so just short of £16 for the 2 of us. At those prices in my opinion you are more than paying for the pint with the pie. The pie came with a few chips and veg (cabbage and peas) and gravy. The pie itself looked large until cutting into it to find it basically hollow. My friends Beef and Ale pie contained very little filling. They do have a good choice of beers though but I won't eat there again.

Former 'Slug and Lettuce' place converted into a sports bar....mainly for the younger folk in the evenings...and to be fair in Sale, there is only the Wetherspoons place further down the road that caters for 'telly addicts'....lunchtimes are Ok and you can often see people of all ages having a 'basic' lunch here....but in the evenings it puts on a different guise, and changes into more of a drinkers' pub, with TVs showing whatever sport might be on. Depending on your taste in pubs...this can be good or bad. Gets VERY crowded on a 'bg match' night. The food is what you would call 'OK'...nothing special for sure....but very reasonable...cheaper than the Slug and Lettuce which has now moved across the road. If you're looking for basic fayre, this should be OK for you, if you choose your day and time....and look at the sporting fixtures before you go! They've certainly made an effort to be different inside, with the refurbishment. Friendly service.

First off - amazing staff. Friendly, humorous and honest. I appreciated being warned about a delay in ordering, as it happened we weren't in a rush. This b`r is reasonably priced and it appears when comparing my party's food that traditional isn't always best - go for the more adventurous choice. The sausage and mash my friend ordered looked distinctively average - even I work on my presentation and don't serve lumps in mash and I don't charge. The manchego and chorizo burger that I had, on the other hand, was superb. Thanks guys!

This was forgiven as we all forget things, what wasn't forgiven was my salad when finally brought to the table. After eating most of the chicken I noticed some very mouldy celery lurking at the bottom of my bowl (see photo) I wouldn't have served this at home and it was only suitable for the bin.
