Roebuck in Trafford

Booked for Mother's day food was tasty and good value. The family really enjoyed it. Unfortunately the service was slow and from the time we ordered to the front of house lady asking us to vacate the table was an hour. Really not good enough when your spending so much. The issue was that our table seemed to be double booked, so it took an hour to find us an alternative table and take our order. However, Adam was very apologetic and made it right for us. Unfortunately, the first lady I raised the issue with, the one who'd originally asked us to vacate, didn't want to know as it 'wasn't her shift' so she simply walked off and called her colleague over. Never had service like that in a long time, so poor. Her manner with the other staff was off too.

Not ate here for a few years was ok not many staff basic service no check back I had the battered fish which stated on the menu “served with salt n vinegar scraps and tartare sauce” it came with neither when asking was met with a puzzled look.Tartare sauce quickly arrived but I then was informed the kitchen didn’t have any scraps the waitress seemed puzzled as to what they even were.Now seeing as they are made from the batter that the fish was coated in it seemed to me they just couldn’t be bothered doing them fish was ok but please don’t serve it on top of the chips it makes them immediately soggy and greasy put it at the side.

Unfortunately, today was not a good day. Was really looking forward to my mother's day lunch. I had a roast dinner which was nothing like the Sunday lunch I had previously. I suspect it must have been a different chef or, they were rushing orders through. No excuse for warm food and undercooked vegetables and as for the roast potato's which were soggy and tasted almost stale. Amazing young lady who served us. Sadly won't be returning again. Definitely hit and miss. Not good 80.00 for 3 people.

Very nice pint of Holts and a passable burger and chips. Bar service is a bit slow at times but food came quickly. Always quite lively.

Sat down this afternoon at an unreserved table for food only to be spoken to like a schoolboy for not waiting to be seated by the overbearing manageress, tbh there was no staff seating customers and you should have been happy for the custom, a bit of hospitality training needed here, Just eat for me now instead of this local pub, no wonder it's always empty if the management are like.this

Booked a table for 1pm to celebrate an 80th birthday. Ordered food and drinks straight away after being seated but waited until 2.20pm for our food to arrive. Several other tables were also left waiting. Got up to ask staff the reason for the delay after an hour. Not even asked if we wanted more drinks while we sat with empty glasses. Some customers left and didn’t wait. Not sure what went wrong with the kitchen but we had our meal and didn’t wait any longer for desserts. No acknowledgement of my uncle’s birthday either. Really disappointing.

We we shown into the VAULT of all places with tv’s blaring with football we couldn’t hear ourselves speak the children were stressed due to the noise! The table was booked for 3pm we were still waiting for meals at 5pm after repeated requests to turn the tvs down a little we we rudely told they had to cater for everyone! Well if we had known we were going to be stuck in a vault and not the restaurant we would not have come!!!! We are still here some have had food albeit the wrong order and cold some still not fed don’t worry we will never be back!!!!!!!!

Came here about months ago first time here had a singer on was very good managed to have a dance Chris the manager is very friendly and welcoming will be back ☺️

Last minute decision to go out for tea at the Roebuck. Lovely staff found us a table at very short notice. Although busy meal ordered and delivered in a reasonable time. Enjoyed the meal fish and chips not much more expensive than the chippie. Enjoyable experience all round

Went for Valentines day lunch today, not been there for a long time, but will certainly make it a place for lunch in the future. Absolutely excellent. Lovely food, and a great pint.

Came here on Sunday 26th Jan for Sunday lunch. Myself and my partner are regulars here, my daughter and her boyfriend visited me and we took them here for Sunday lunch and said the food and service is very good. However I was “greeted” at the bar by the most rude barman that I nearly walked back out again. We were told we would need to wait for our table that we booked for 3.30pm which was fine because we could see they were very busy. I asked the bar man if I could order drinks whilst we wait for our table he grunted something I didn’t understand and so I asked him to repeat what he said and he just looked at me as if annoyed and sternly said “YES” I tuned to my daughters boyfriend to ask what he wanted to drink and the barman said to me “What was that look for??” I said “what look??” He then realised he was bang out of order and said “ sorry I am having a sh*t” I am appalled at his attitude and how intimidating and rude he was to me!!! ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTED!!

Good pub grub at reasonable prices.

We went to see the new refurb and new menu. The place looks great. A great fire place glowing in the corner. We could feel the heat from 3 tables away. Good new food on the menu and all the old favourites. We ordered our meals , had a drink. Food arrived and looked nice on the plate. My good ladies chicken was tough and hard to cut. My chicken was ok and tasted good. Maybe just one bad chicken in a batch. But put my lady off the meal altogether. When asked if our meals were ok we told the waiter about the chicken. She said she would tell the chef. We were given 2 cups of coffee. To compensate. Will we go again probably yes. Sorry no photos.

It was a lovely place. It has clearly been looked after or redecorated. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The only reason I have given 4 out 5 stars is because a lot of the small plate meals were not available.

Had good time Saturday night watching an Elvis act ,,enjoyed the food and drink.

Visited here the other night after its refurb. It looks lovely and fresh. There were a few teething issues this night - running out of gammon, forgetting the tartar sauce, and our drinks ordered being forgotten. We did get apologies for both issues and just chose something else to eat. Whilst the fish was lovely, the tartar sauce was forgotten about (but we asked for this and got it) and we had a few chips (not enough). The malteaser ice cream made up for it. I would say although there was a couple of issues it was rectified so it wasn’t a problem and my friend and I had a could catch up. We will be back The staff were lovely and friendly.

Never been in before until my Aunties funeral today. I live a bit to far away to ever be a regular but what a nice place. Friendly staff, good choice of drinks and just thank you for taking care of everyone on such a hard day. When I come back I'll have to try your food next time, you know. See if it's as good as the pub up the road from me.

Met with friends for pre Christmas meet up. Ordered 2 course Christmas menu, main and dessert. Beautifully presented, nice and hot and absolutely delicious. Staff attentive despite it being busy. Atmosphere relaxing, nice to see a pleasant and polite workforce. Good value for money. Would highly recommend one of our favourite places. Thank you

The food as always was very enjoyable, it was very busy so the service wasnt as quick as normal, which was fine, but unfortunately the whole experience was spoilt by the rude sulky waitress, who had a really bad attitude, not only with us, but also with other customers, really stroppy

We had our Christmas lunch yesterday everything was perfect, the staff were brilliant food was fantastic atmosphere very good couldn't fault anything. Well done to the roebuck Urmston.

Food as usual was excellent, very busy evening so there was a wait for the food, but not really a problem, unfortunately had an issue with a sulky waitress who had a real bad attitude problem, not only with us but other paying customers, and appeared at times with her own members of staff!!

Went for the Christmas menu. Booked a few weeks ago. Food was lovely. Service was great as always. I was a little disappointed though because they had ran out of cranberry sauce. As we had pre ordered Christmas lunch I would have thought they would have made sure it would have been available.

Lovely relaxed meal, nice attentive staff and a great atmosphere. Would recommend without hesitation. Five stars all round 👏💕

Newly refurbished and still great food and service.

Absolutely fantastic place. Chris has turned this place around for the better and a credit to him and his team. Food is fantastic and the staff, especially Alex and Chloe are very friendly. Highly recommend a visit.

Love the new decor, William Morris style. The pub has a nice atmosphere. We visited on a Sunday day to try the Roast. I had a gammon with a side of cauliflower cheese. Perfectly good roast for the price but it's no Proost. We shared two puddings the cheesecake and the cherry Bakewell sponge, both were delicious. The staff are amazing ill definitely go back and try more of the menu the cheese and onion pie sounds amazing.

There's are closed at the moment for a month .a complete renovation is going on .back open in early November.

Went to my cousins christening here last weekend, staff were brilliant as always. Everyone had a great day. Thanks to Chris and Connor especially.

Visited here with my friend and have to say the cheese pie is still my favourite dish there. The staff were friendly and attentive. Nothing was too much trouble. Also can recommend the maLteasers and caramel ice cream mmm

Delicious food and service was great on first visit. Second time we went we waited over 15mins for a drink as it needed changing. If we were told we would have chosen something else as we had somewhere to go.

Roebuck is a nicely appointed pub with a bowling green and beer garden to the rear. Great place to have a bowl and a bite

Pleasant staff and environment spoilt by customers vaping indoors

Spent £71 on Sunday lunch for 2 people . After ordering coffee told by staff they need the table back soon . Then the rude manager did not even say goodbye and had a face on him . , terrible terrible service . It’s a shame as the food was very nice . A message for the owner , you need to change the manager and train your staff how to treat customers who actually pay their wages .

Attended a friend’s 60th birthday so we were in the suite upstairs so entered the door to side. We have just received a £100 parking fine for using the Roebucks car park Also no visible signage explaining parking rules. DISCUSTING

My baby shower was hosted here at the roebuck and we had no complaints! All the staff were so helpful and pleasant and the food that they put out for us was fresh and very tasty. We really enjoyed the baby shower and that is down to the roebuck being so hospitalable. Thank you to all staff at the roebuck.

Lovely pub with great atmosphere and friendly staff. Good range of tasty food served with a smile. Quiz night on Sundays. Rooms for hire inside and out. Highly recommended.

A favourite pub of ours, the Roebuck is a very welcoming pub for drinks with friends and family. The food has always been very good as has the Service. I wish the chairs were more comfortable as unfortunately my back is not at its best in straight backed chairs, and hurts whenever I have lunch or an evening meal there. The best thing about The Roebuck is it's Manager Chris and his staff who are all so lovely. You must put your car's number plate in at the bar on entering or face a fine via an outside parking company.

We had some lunch today 03/4/24 and ordered Fish and Chips and Gammon and Pineapple and paid extra for an egg too. The food arrived and the chips looked brown and over cooked, the fish was over cooked too. The portion size was small for the Gammon and chips and the Cook/Chef forgot the egg too. When i was asked how the meal was, i said we didn't get the egg so the lady bought us a fried egg. All in all the food was poor and the Two Hoots beer had gone off and my partner had to pay for a pint of bitter as he couldn't drink it. The cost of the meal was £30.00, so I would think twice before you drop in for some food.

Nice pub, not very busy for a Saturday night, seem to be catering more for diners as are most pubs these days

Visited the ROEBUCK at URMSTON for my husbands birthday. We both had curries on the curry thursday. The food was exelent came on really hot plates though the resturant was fairley busy we were both served very quickly we have been to the ROEBUCK on many occasions always found CHRIS and his staff very helpful we would highley recomend we will both be back.

Only had a break for a cup of tea but it was very good. Staff very friendly and helpful. Remember you have to enter your car registration.

Great pub, good size car park and great beer garden. Just don't forget to put your car registration into the computer or you'll get a ticket in the post like I did 🤣

My partner and I had Sunday lunch 11/02/24 at the Roebuck and we would highly recommend it. The food was cooked perfectly, and the atmosphere was lovely . Go to the Roebuck anytime, you won’t be disappointed.

Started going in again not been in for ages before then , sadly after receiving a parking fine with the new camera system on the car park after I put my reg in at the bar I wont be returning anytime soon , battling with the parking company over it when I have clearly sent proof of my Roebuck card charge for my meal , really not got time to mess around like this with parking tickets I will go somewhere else without cameras , only takes a minute and you forget to enter your reg and you've then got the mess I am in plant of others places in Urmston with free parking and no eye spy cameras watching ..Bye Bye Roebuck Shame as meal was good ...

Sunday roast was very nice but not hot, still 5 stars though. Staff very nice.

Only downside was we booked for 7pm... and we're told the kitchen closes then and numerous items were off the menu. However.... the food we did get was hot and totally delicious.... that wexford chicken... my word that was stunning. The staff were lovely and attentive... we will be going again in January with our 20% off voucher. They better still be doing that chicken 🐔 😂

Last night I along with 3 friends enjoyed a two course ‘Festive Meal’ Turkey and Xmas pudding. Food and service was great. Well done Chris and the Team .

Had the most AMAZING roast dinner I've had in years in a pub. Very highly recommend it. There was 10 of us and everybody really enjoyed their food, we will definately be back.

Lovely service and a nice atmosphere but i paid £3.45 for a tiny portion of chips. I really think for that price they should definitely at least add a few more…

We went to the Roebuck to see and support the bootleg line dancers, doing some line dances for charity, the staff were brilliant, so we decided to have a meal with a couple of friends, the meal was great , the only thing what I could not understand was the bill , when you look at the menu you think that is the price you pay is the price on the menu , but there are little notes saying there is a £3 supplement on steak, so I would advise anyone eating there too read the menu. Stephanie/ Chris ( Manager) and the other staff where great , It's a great pub and great atmosphere, just the billing system needs tobe simplified in my opinion.

Okay. Servings quite small. Still waiting for gerkins on the burger. If you haven’t got them, say! Just average food. Nice staff.
