Visited cafe on 8/8/20. I had the small breakfast. It was nicely presented and the ingredients were very good quality. Staff were friendly and helpful. I will be back

Lovely little cafe, relaxing and friendly. We had teas and coffees but next time we will go for lunch too. It wasn’t too noisy and had a nice selection of teas. Great staff too. Much nicer than the big coffee shop chains.

Recently taken over but still a great range of reasonably priced sandwiches and toasties. Also offer jacket potatoes. If you are in the rates it is well worth a visit. Can also do take out which is perfect if work locally and want a fresh sandwich.

This hidden little cafe is great for small bites for brunch/lunch and coffee and cake. The coffee and clothes idea is quirky but always see people picking up items to buy.The owners Jim and Kay are lovely people and are very welcoming.Well worth a visit if in the area, much tastier and better value than Costa on the Broadway, look out for the sign at street level to show you where the cafe is.

Filled with memorabilia, decked out in the fashion of the day, homemade cakes, friendly staff and coffee that tastes delicious. This place is great for a small one to one meeting that is not in a faceless major chain. It is up an alleyway so dont blink or you will miss it, but its worth a little hunt for it and there is plenty of free parking a few metres away.

Been here a few times. Great for a quick bite of lunch or a nice cuppa and cake in an extremely friendly environment. Pays a very respectful homage to the blitz without being distasteful.

This is my new favourite place to come! I love the decor and the staff are always so pleased to see you! I'm autistic so find cafes and restaurants quite scary at the best of times.

Blitz Cafe is just lovely! Not only is it completely unique in style, dedicating everything to the war but the service is defo with a smile, puts chain cafes to shame...... Kay and Jim are the perfect people to run the cafe. They work very well together and the place just isn't the same if anyone else is looking after the place. Kay's food is amazing! It's all home made and the cakes are to die for! All in all a must visit! See you again soon! I can't wait for another slice of lemon cake! Yum!

Cosy and very friendly. Great coffee and reasonably priced snacks/food. Has become a regular visit when at the Broadway and better than the large chain eateries on offer.

Came here today in need of a small snack. Little obvious signage. A feint blackboard on the pavement and a be rely foot square sign above a little door maybe a dozen yards down a lane between two 1920s houses long since turned into suburban shop/offices. Inside noticeably dark with a full length window offering light at the far end and a grey view across an empty run down and seemingly unused private car park. The Blitz theme was not as dominant as I had expected.two or three blown up photos, an incomplete wooden model aircraft fuselage hanging from the ceiling, some Union jack upholstery but little else. A small counter and an average selection of hot drinks, two choices of cake and some offerings of sandwiches or similar to order. Inexpensive and a friendly lady serving. All the other four customers were chatty pensioners. Obviously serves a need for people with a bit of weekday time on their hands. Hope it continues.

If you're looking for just hideaway from it all definitely worth a look in! Okay coffee, and nice small snacky food. Nothing that substantial but still nice! The highlight for me was the lemon drizzle cake the owner makes at home! So good.

The Blitz Café, set back from the maim road appears from the outside to be someone's living room. However, step through the door and you are transported into 1940s UK in the middle of the Second World War.

Whilst visiting my brother in Plymouth he took us out to this lovely cafe in Plymstock. Tucked down a side street (not visible from the road!) it's a brilliant idea for a cafe, I'm a WW2 enthusiast so my brother knew I'd love it - good, fresh food, friendly service, some nice touches such as copies of old wartime newspapers, an old clock, brick wallpaper & poppy cups! The scones were enormous - a lovely selection of toasted sandwiches and my Dad enjoyed the homemade soup! Would be a great place to take children for lunch to learn about the wartime era. Would definitely visit again.

This outer suburb has no reputation for decent food. There are some takeaways and a pub/restaurant near the parish church. Blitz is an oddity. The theme is bound to wear thin as a novelty after a few months. But if it coaxes people in, it will be a good thing because this unassuming little place is different and seems to provide a better snack option than anywhere else for a mile or so around. Friendly.

Came down here on a recent afternoon for tea and a cake while taking a break from watching a mate playing cricket just up the road. This rather different cafe is set back from this very 1930s or older suburban street at the back of a row of much jacked about and modified local shops, solicitors etc. As described by others it has picked up the Blitz theme. Not sure it does anything for me although some of the old news sheets were of one off passing interest. The tea was well made and the cake of very good home made quality. Surprising how dozens of places have suddenly started doing cakes in Plymouth over the last few years. All in all, Blitz Cafe was friendly and OK but I would not have thought that it would attract much beyond local residents or those, like me captured temporarily in this neighbourhood. Wouldn't travel out here specially.

i went to blitz cafe and the service i receive was superb, i rarely had to ask for anything because they brought every thing quick that i wanted. I am an American and the coffee that i tasted just reminded me of my Home in Texas. The management and staff were very greeting, and the aroma of the place was very appetizing, on my future visits to Plymouth, England Blitz Cafe will be the only place i go to get my Coffee. They are AWESOME!!!

Hidden away in an older part of the Plymstock suburb this little off street cafe has put all its eggs in one basket. Not quite sure what these premises or this business has to do with the blitz which badly and significantly affected plymouth centre and bits around Hooe and Turnchapel but not so much Dean Cross. The posters, the music and some of the accessories are of fleeting interest but no more. The food is OK. The prices about right. The ambience is perhaps a little curious rather than peculiar. Maybe more school history project than particularly historical. We had a pleasant enough snack but having serenity we probably wouldn't come all the way back.

How wonderfull to have the Blitz Cafe tucked away in Plymstock a real Gem, fantastic coffee and selection of cakes which all cyclists need to refuel there bodies, this is a must place to visit you will not be dissapointed a real peacefull atmospheric experience with soft war time music songs playing in the background. If like me you are to young to remember ww2 just pop in for half an hour and come out relaxed and refreshed to take on the day unfurling in front of you.

This is one of the most charming and interesting theme cafe’s that I’ve visited. Although it is tucked away from the main street, it is certainly well worth finding. The owners have done a first class job decorating it and creating a very pleasant atmosphere, in a tasteful way. Taking a step back into the past, in to the era of ww2 is achieved in a unique and sensitively style. They have taken great care with every detail, creating a warm and comfortable place to enjoy a relaxing break. All the staff are exceptionally friendly and the food is reasonably priced and very good indeed.

The Chancel has been one of our favourite places to eat in Plymouth for many years. During Covid and a bit longer they’ve been delivering or preparing for collection. Without much thought or any foreknowledge we walked down this evening hoping it might up and running for their traditional bistro food and good wines. Very disappointed therefore to find it dark, empty and will a To Let sign. No hint that there might still be an online service. Pity and we’re sad. Many dozens of happy memories.

Have purchased from here several times - both the cake slices and celebration cakes. Most of the time the cakes are great - light and fluffy, but have been two occasions where the cake was too sweet and did not taste very fresh (seems more of an exception), but will still be purchasing nonetheless.
