First class service from lovely, friendly staff. Excellent food. Will call again.

Outstanding food. Steak cooked to perfection, curry out of this world. Would recommend to visitors of the area and all locals to try this. It is the best food I have ever eaten! The chef’s must take so much pride in their food and it is so nice to see.

We've eaten here many times over the years and visited today. The food was, as always, brilliant; very tasty and served promptly by very pleasant staff. The menu is extensive and portions are very generous. It is definitely the place to go for delicious Thai food and as such we have no hesitation in recommending this lovely pub

Absolutely delicious food. caters everybody even picky kids. not too fancy so you can wear casual clothes but the food is out of this world. It was my third time coming. I’m definitely coming back again

Only had a meal in this brilliant restaurant. Good access for wheelchairs with a dedicated entrance by the car park. Food is excellent and plentiful. Staff very customer focused.

Booked for dinner for a family meal and were not disappointed. We received a friendly greeting on arrival and were seated quickly. Drinks were offered and arrived promptly. When our food arrived it was hot and well presented, everything was excellent. Prices very reasonable as well. We will definitely be visiting again. Booking in recommended as this place is very popular.

Found this hidden gem on the way to a long weekend away, absolutely fantastic place, the food, service and polite staff was amazing. Could not recommend this restaurant enough. Enjoyed talking Thai to the waitress and kitchen staff with a kitchen tour with my partner. 5 stars 🌟

Went today with a friend will never go again.i had gammon egg chips and pineapple,the egg was so bad it looked like it had been in an accident so I had it changed,the gammon was tough and there was only Amber ale or guineas so I had to have cider as I don't like bottled beer.my friends food was OK but to be honest it wasn't worth the £37.00

Amazing staff never been a place quiet like it

I gave this 3 stars based on the lack of atmosphere and character it used to have. The food was excellent as always and we have been coming here for probably 20+ years. Big paper signs at back door by car park to use front door unless disabled, hence the majority of folk coming in front door and despite fire on it was baltic. Table service only so sorta missed the locals standing by the bar chatting .. felt like I was still in covid era, won't rush back.

We had a fantastic dining experience at the Blackwell Ox. The food was exceptionally tasty, and the portion sizes were generous - a lot of which we took home. The staff were friendly and provided quick service. The atmosphere was pleasant, not noisy at all, and I found the prices to be excellent value for money. Highly recommended!

Booked here for Sons birthday, although it was busy, service was prompt and all staff were lovely and friendly, food was amazing, Im new to Thai food and the waitress was bombarded with questions (sorry)! answered all my queries and I was delighted with my choice from the menu which had lots to choose from, all agreed food was excellent and Im looking forward to a return visit, many thanks for a lovely birthday celebration - and for singing happy birthday as you brought the cake out!

Visited on Saturday, beautiful day and after a long walk had a gorgeous lunch. Lovely friendly staff and we all cleared our plates. Curries and stir fry were really fresh and hot,only gripe is no dogs allowed inside, plenty of side rooms, maybe one could be set aside for dogs, hardly anyone inside and luckily for us we were blessed with good weather otherwise it would have been a no go.

Invited to the Blackwell Ox by some friends. Unsure what to have ended up after a recommendation with Crispy Duck Penang. Wow was it lovely, something I would not normally have. Service was brilliant by extremely friendly staff. Thanks very much the Blackwell Ox. Will be back again.

Stayed in the Baysdale log cabin. Absolutely beautiful peaceful place for a chilled weekend. The lodges are gorgeous everything equipped for your stay top quality interiors. Third time we have stayed here and will certainly be back again.

From the friendly greeting and seating, to the amazing food (very Thai based, but with a good mix of mild to spicy). I've absolutely lost count as to how many times I've eaten here, and each time it's just perfect. I'm trying different things on the menu and so far nothing below great. I look forward to my next visit.

Always loved this place for great food. However, last night we were all very disappointed. The dip that arrived with our starters was absolutely tasteless and looked like water. I appreciate we all have to make savings but I'd rather pay more for the decent dip. I mentioned the disappointment to the server and said out of the 9 of us we had all left it due to no taste and it looked and tasted like it had been watered down, she wasn't bothered and just answered me with "oh yer". Rest of meal was good, plenty of it and great taste. We will go back but never have starters again which is annoying.

Visited The Blackwell Ox today with my mum. Booked via phone easily and arrived 30 minutes before our reserved time, but were happily seated straight away. We had full table service which was served with a smile. We ordered the large Yorkshire pudding filled with beef and mushroom and a Thai green curry, both of which were plentiful and absolutely delicious. Staff were quick to notice our drinks running low and came to offer a top up. A nice relaxed meal out - not rushed and not left unattended. Highly recommended.

Food out of this world Everytime we go the food has been excellent. Never had a bad meal . Favourite meal is the battered cod with pork mince. Funny concoction but it goes really well love it

Good enough service, and very good parking, located in a beautiful area. I ordered the deluxe sharing Thai platter which was a bit stodgy and not overly authentic. In short, good for a pint but I'm yet to be convinced about the food.

Went here for food not a stay. It is all table sevice and very quick service. Food was of a decent quality for pie and veg. The yellow and red tia curries were amazing. The staff are lovely but one of the ladies could use some mouthwash.

Big menu. Friendly staff, good range of beverages. Ordered pad kee mow or should i say pad kee WOW... just the right amount of spice, and it was delicious. Very filling. Got side order of salt and pepper chips because why not, very nice 🤩 Would recommemd highly if you enjoy thai food or any well seasoned dishes

Attended the restaurant for a family meal with relatives who had travelled from overseas for a family visit. Made an online booking due to the phone not being answered after ringing several times over a few days , when attending the restaurant , the booking ( on there end ) had been changed for days later - but our confirmation email had the correct time/date & quantity. The front of house staff member was incredibly rude & arrogant tapping his iPad in a very condescending manner that there wasn't a booking for that date ( again we had an email confirmation ) . The restaurant had several tables empty & had to ask more than once if we could sit at a empty table & wait with our disabled family member as no empathy was shown to an elderly women stood with a walking stick whilst they rectified their error. We where eventually sat at a table 30 minutes later & all the tables that where ' fully booked' were never filled the whole time we had our meals. The food was good , but no where near as nice as previous meals here. Our overall experience was tarnished due to the rudeness & arrogance shown.

Great Thai food in a lovely little hamlet

This is one of my favourite places, every time we go there is never too much trouble for us, staff are very welcoming, food is excellent, I would ring to book a table, they are very busy. Better to be safe than sorry, highly recommend 😁😁

Beautiful food, great service, and there were quite a few of us! Food was served and was delicious. Set in a wonderful area with lots of amazing scenery to explore and nice to finish off here for a drink and lovely food/service.

Birthday lunch with a friend. Always on point with the food. I had the fried cod with red Thai curry. Wished it was an endless plate, it was stunning!!! The staff are all warm friendly and the lady who took our other thoroughly knew the menu. They can tone down the spice if you are a wimp like me. Wholeheartedly recommend a visit

The food was delicious, but the service from the lad who took our order was rubbish. He was really snappy and had no customer service skills. He made me feel uncomfortable to be honest.

Dont even attempt to book the lodges if you are a same sex group! I’ve tried to book a nice relaxing weekend in the lodge with family and a friend but as we are all girls they’ve refused us. I totally understand that some groups can be very disrespectful but that ruins it for everyone - how are you meant to make money but refusing the most popular target market? We were willing to pay deposits etc but nope. What makes the entire thing worse is how hoseasons.com tried to contact the Blackwell ox over a period of two weeks over telephone and email and had no response from them this has meant we can no longer book our backup options as with the Blackwell ox ignoring us for two weeks the others are booked up. I just think you should be courteous of people attempting to book - fully understand you can’t accommodate us but at least tell us that when we try to book not two weeks after where we are now left in the lurch

I visited here with my mam and younger sister for her birthday on Monday. It was a wise move as we enjoyed it. I chose vegetarian lasagne (despite it specialising in Thai food), my sister copied as that's what she does and my mam chose a green Thai curry. We felt a little greedy but ordered garlic bread too for the mains. The lasagne was filling and not watery like other establishments. My mam also enjoyed hers. Parking was ample and staff friendly. I'd highly recommend.

First time visiting this venue and definitely not the last. Seriously there was nothing we could fault. The service was outstanding and the food was amazing. Portion size was excellent and we left feeling we had a great experience and value for money. Wish we had visited sooner

Fabulous Thai food especially starters great friendly efficient service in lovely pub Clean welcoming yet full of old character. Ate by beautiful fireplace in the window looking out over the village stream with daffodils just coming out. Perfect spring evening Busy place ! I can see why. Food was fantastic. So lovely to see a pub doing so well. Credit to them and especially the chefs Starters were absolutely perfection especially the prawns and the little salmon fish cakes. And the seafood salad So nice I couldn’t eat much of the main. So asked to bring it home. Reheated it last night and it was so yummy

I always remembered this as a warm friendly country pub with an open fire. It has now become more or less a Thai restaurant. The menu was 95% Thai food with very limited options for anything else. You also have to book tables if you want to be anywhere near the fire. The female staff were polite and smiled but the male barman was positively glacial. The food arrived promptly but while the cod was ok the gammon and egg was over cooked and hard.

Lovely food and good service but spoilt by pure greed. 75p for a sachet of ketchup for a kids meal, I know times have been hard but this is disgusting. Also if chips are ordered as a side order the rice doesn't come with the meal you ordered but pay full cost for the side order.

Wow..the food was absolutely amazing. I would definitely recommend trying this place out! Best I've had for sure! The kind prawn spring rolls were beautiful as well as the crispy duck I had in the main. Could not fault the service, friendly staff and food was served quicker than a maccy d!

Booked through Hoseason and the Friday to Monday price was very reasonable. We had a two bedroom lodge with hot tub and can I just say this was spotless and well presented. The lodge had everything you needed, washer, fridge freezer, dishwasher and towels. Would we visit again 🤔 Definitely
