A great family pub with sweets for kids, coal fire, dart board and thankfully NO jukebox. Lovely landlady who clearly takes pride in her establishment. The draught beer I drank, Theakstons Bitter, was excellent,

Lovely little village pub, great Sunday lunches and wonderful steamed puddings with custard ... and I can personally recommend Jill's ham salad, which is so much more than your average salad! With a monthly Quiz night and monthly Bingo night ... what's not to like 😊

The pub is only small but very friendly, the landlady always pleasant and accommadating even when stressed. On Sundays she presents very straighforward simple home cooked lunches and sweets. The choices are limited but perfectly adequate given the size of the premises and kitchen. We have eaten here now for over five years on a very frequent basis and the quality has been consistently good. It can be busy on occasions and for larger groups would be advised to book in advance

We stopped here on our way up to Edinburgh. We both had the Yorkshire breakfast. It was delicious! Fresh ingredients served nice and hot with crunchy granary toast. The staff were very friendly and accommodating and the service was efficient. Also it is very clean and spacious so plenty of room for pushchairs/wheelchairs. Great cappuccinos and the cafe is dog friendly. All round winner!

Under new management in past month: now it's Keith & his Thai wife, whose name wasn't given. Good coffee and both friendly & welcoming. Have not been here before so cannot provide 'then & now' comparison, but think it's certainly worth a visit.

Visited here on a Sunday lunchtime whilst waiting to get our car fixed. It was perfect as it's dog friendly, so we sat with our German Shepherd dog in the front area. Really friendly staff with great food. We had a mix of small plates. I can highly recommend the foccacia with spicy sweet potato hummus and the crispy chicken was delicious. Great selection of wines. Give this place a go, you won't be disappointed.
