A great family pub with sweets for kids, coal fire, dart board and thankfully NO jukebox. Lovely landlady who clearly takes pride in her establishment. The draught beer I drank, Theakstons Bitter, was excellent,

Lovely little village pub, great Sunday lunches and wonderful steamed puddings with custard ... and I can personally recommend Jill's ham salad, which is so much more than your average salad! With a monthly Quiz night and monthly Bingo night ... what's not to like 😊

The pub is only small but very friendly, the landlady always pleasant and accommadating even when stressed. On Sundays she presents very straighforward simple home cooked lunches and sweets. The choices are limited but perfectly adequate given the size of the premises and kitchen. We have eaten here now for over five years on a very frequent basis and the quality has been consistently good. It can be busy on occasions and for larger groups would be advised to book in advance

What a lovely little gem tucked away from the main road into Thirsk. It was a lovely spotless place with friendly and lovely staff. My son and partner and me were impressed by the choice on the menu and were happy to choose luscious Turkish dishes. With my son being Turkish he loved the choice. Thank you for the complimentary tea. We will be back! Gule gule.

Under new management in past month: now it's Keith & his Thai wife, whose name wasn't given. Good coffee and both friendly & welcoming. Have not been here before so cannot provide 'then & now' comparison, but think it's certainly worth a visit.
