The Black Horse in Tower Hamlets

Stopped by three times during a recent London visit. Great beer and even better staff. Will definitely come back the next time I'm in the area.

With free darts upstairs as well as a lovely place outside, I'll have to be back here again!! Would highly recommend going if you haven't been before.

The pub is medium-sized inside, and the staff are friendly. You can pay with cash or card, and they also serve food. Everything is okay, nothing spectacular. I recommend this pub as a stop before heading to a club.

The boss and his staff are great! Go there if you are in the area Excellent Pub food and superb atmosphere! If you are a football fan you will be delighted!

My daughter and I don't know the Aldgate area but popped in here for an early dinner as we were going on a Jack the Ripper walk which was very close by. The staff were lovely, food was good and arrived in good time. The cost of food for London was good although we didn't feel we could pay £5 for a can of cola! If we were in the area again we would go here again.

Probably would be a good pub except for the French fella serving us was more concerned about going home than working. Little microagressions from him and not making last call...not a good look for somewhere so expensive in my eyes.

Beer is good. Staff are good. 'pie' was a lump of mashed potato and a lump of mince thrown in a dish and microwaved. No pastry, not even baked. like baby food.

Good solid pub lunch experience. Food was nice and staff friendly and helpful. Their lunch special is good value for money

A Traditional English bar in the very center of London. Loved the vibe here and even better was the service my friends and I received. Our waiter, Antona was awesome! He was very lovely and gave us excellent recommendations based on our individual tastes. Very nice food and big variety of beers and cocktails. Will definitely make my way back here.

Great Pub ! Juls and Anthony and the team are very welcoming ! Beer always been great . Many friends from B.T rate the Guinness highly.Darts available upstairs with a rooftop terrace. If you want a pub around leman street I'd highly recommend .

Amazing pub with great cocktails, I highly recommend the passion fruit one. The bar staff treat you like family and make you feel so welcome. What a lovely place to stop for drinks!

Charging £7.50 for a pint of Guinness is downright insulting. The White Swan or The Running Horse (under 100 metres away) are great alternatives.

Reasonable local with a good selection of beers although none are cask.

Stopped in for some pub food and beer. They have there own cask ale and other beers on tap. Ordered pizza that was very good and Shepherd Pie which was good. After eating went to the upstairs terrace which has an inside and outside area. Enjoyed the rest of the evening there.

Lovely pub went in Father's Day evening with my two daughter, after eating in a restaurant arond the corner. Had a lovely pint of Black Horse. Will defo be back when we have more time.

Really nice pub with good vibes. Good selection of food & drink. Shepard's pie was okay, nothing special. Stick with pizza's, seems what they are known for. Cider, Aspall cider was very good, easy to drink with perfect carbonation. Seems really popular with the locals, having a good crowd on a Wednesday night. Swing by if you're in the area.

A nice pub that wasn't crowded because it's not exactly in the city center. The food was delicious and the staff was friendly.

Unfortunately no option for zero stars. Bar staff ridiculously arrogant, insisting on watching French football at the expense of selling drinks.

A very traditional East end pub on the corner of Alie street. Gentle and friendly with a compact range of keg beers. Also a couple of casks for the real ale enthusiasts (only one on today, possibly called 1810 or Black Horse) lovely people, great service and a good pint. Pop down for a beer. Have fun.

Visiting London on business and popped in here to have a bite to eat. Chose traditional shepherd's pie and it was sublime. I'm down here for a few days so will be back tomorrow evening for more. Was able to watch the match whilst eating so it couldn't have been better. Thank you Black Horse.

Decent prices, shepherd's pie was pretty good. A solid pub that is a little quieter than many of the surrounding spots.

Fantastic burnt ends and an amazing ribeye steak cooked to perfection, medium rare exactly as asked for.

The food is so overpriced. We looked at the menu and after a couple of minutes we decided it was a rip off, so we left. As we got up to leave, the manager who was sitting at the bar got up from his seat and intentionally bumped into me because we didn't order.

Very good food and service. They’ve got a new menu now and chef I think, which is probably why they’ve gotten so much better

Great place to great a drink and they do a brilliant pint of Guinness. Some nice pizzas too if looking for an after work drink and food this is a good spot. There often a darts club on Thursdays.

Nice British Pub. We didn't have neither lunch or dinner but only drinks before we went back to the hotel for sleeping. Warm atmosphere and good service from two gentle guys. I have heard they make good pizza. The next time staying in Aldgate I'll try.

Actually a really nice pub. Friendly staff, not too pricy drinks (£25 for 4) somewhere we will head back to when we are this way again.

We were in town on vacation and were struggling to find a place that was open after 10pm on a saturday night in the area. My husband and I love playing darts back home so we googled "pubs with darts" and this one came up nearby so we decided to check it out. Sadly we were told we couldn't play darts when we got there but we were welcome to go upstairs and look around. We had a beer, but didn't really care for the vibe in there so we left and went to another pub nearby.

A huge variety of beers, larger, ales and spirits! The food is delicious and the staff are second to none. If your in Aldgate and want a decent pub with a great atmosphere and a traditional vibe, this is the place to be. I highly recommended this place

Pub hyper sympathique, bon cocktail, et surtout des serveurs bilingues ! Ce qui pour nous était un sacré avantage... Petit jeu de fléchettes pour s'assurer une petite détente optimale. Vraiment contente d'avoir trouvé ce petit coin chaleureux.

Pretty disappointing food. 2 stars only because of friendly staff. The burger was obviously a low quality frozen patty with lots small pie es of cartilage. If you like mustard then maybe this burger is for you it was slathered in an overpowering and (in my opinion) disgusting mustard based sauce that tried to drown out the taste. I couldnt finish it. Even the fries were a disappointment. They were undercooked and not the least bit crispy on the outside.
