Absolutely fabulous. This is a lovely pub with first class food and excellent service. The staff could not have been nicer. Delicious Sunday roast.

My go to pub for Mother’s Day lunch. Excellent service, food delicious. Very accommodating as we had come together from far and wide and we were able to sit comfortably after the meal to carry on talking.

I booked a table, for my wife and myself, for a mother's day lunch. The staff are very friendly and welcoming and we were shown to our table. There is a lovely atmosphere in this very old building and it is clean and well presented. My wife had the beef and I had the roast lamb with accompanying vegetables and they were both excellent. The chef certainly knows how to cook Yorkshire Puddings properly, too ! The portions were generous, too. Staff were attentive and it was service with a smile all round. Thank you for a great visit.

Very nice traditional country pub in a beautiful old building. The menu had a great selection and lots of options for gluten free dining, which was great for me being one of “those people”😅 The staff were very welcoming and the food was great, unpretentious and very tasty. Will be back, thanks!

The Black Horse is our favourite local haunt, but we were yet to try a Roast. I'm quite fussy with a roast as my husband is an ex chef and after years of careful nagging, he's perfected everything just to how I like it. But after sampling the A La Carte menu we couldn't wait to try a Roast here and boy we were not disappointed. Service was faultless as always - friendly and efficient. They kindly seated us in the bar area with our puppy and despite him barking a few times and me feeling a bit anxious, they put us right at ease. The food was just incredible. Everything was cooked to perfection - meat was really flavoursome and (much as I hate the word) moist, and portions were plentiful. The veg was all cooked beautifully and seasoned well. I absolutely LOVED the gravy which NEVER happens to me when I eat out. I thought prices were reasonable, quality was outstanding. I dare say we will rarely eat elsewhere now.

The Black Horse is a really friendly pub/ restaurant. The food is fantastic, the service is brilliant & the staff are so friendly & fun. We went with family for a belated Birthday dinner for my husband. As ever, it was fun & we all came away feeling full & having had a great time

Highly Recommended: We booked a table for 6pm using the web page. Very simple and I got a confirmation message to know it was all done right. Arrived a little early and chatted to the the people at the bar, all very friendly. Our friend arrived and we were taken through to our table. We were asked for drinks, and given the menu's. A short time later the orders were taken and the meals took 15-20 minutes. We ordered Hake, chicken supreme, battered king prawns and beef suet pudding. All of the food was lovely, very tasty and fresh. For desert it was apple & plumb crumble and Jam sponge, again very nice. The plus was the food, staff and atmosphere were great. The prices aren't cheap, but it is great value. The only negative was that the hake was small but fortunately, the jam sponge filled up the gap. We will definitely return for special occasions, or if we are flush. ££ Keep up the great work.

I came with my family for my son’s birthday. The food was so tasty, couldn’t fault it. I visit all the time, normally for a Sunday Roast which is equally as good. I’ve never had a bad meal yet so hands off to the chef 10/10. The staff are always pleasant and helpful too which makes the experience more enjoyable, I’ve booked again for my Dads birthday on Easter Sunday.

Easily the best pub Sunday lunch I’ve ever eaten, the quality of the food was faultless as was the generous portion size even the prices were very reasonable especially compared to other venues we had visited, but this place exceeded them all.
