The Big Fish in Warwick

Scallop and small chips are for nearly 3 pounds, it's over priced. I don't mind paying the price for the food if it's quality but the chips have no taste to it, and the scallop was hard and was unable to eat it. Very disappointed.

Tasty and yummy food. Specially cod fish was very tasty and delicious. Shop was very busy but still best customer service. I also recommend to everyone for this place.

The big fish used to be a great chippy. They had excellent food and prices. Now the prices are astronomical for the area and the food quality has dropped. Donner was bad quality, large fish and chips is a regular size. Regular fish and chips was £4.50 in 2017-2018, now they've named it large and charge £10+. Prices constantly rising, but food quality has went down. I get 2 pieces of fresh cod in supermarkets like m&s for under £5, bigger than your large size , as a business they pay wholesale, no card payments which is a fraud, and then you complain about the NHS waiting lists and no police. Fish is watery at times, due to being frozen. Service is not great, no smiles nothing. Greedy money hungry people. Avoid.

Fish bites and chips. Good size portion for the price which I think was £6 with a drink. Chips were great, fish was decent. The batter was a little too thick and soggy for my liking but I suppose you can't really complain at that price. Seem to be a Jack of all trades too and rather busy. A small amount of seating indoors too and off road parking if you get lucky.

The fish Big fish serve is actually a small fish but at big fish prices. Fish is often overcooked with more batter than fish. When this place first opened, it had very good fish and chips, but it looks like they are all about the money with out the quality and quantity. The Big Fish: you need to review your portion sizes as there are alot of places locally offering freshly made fish and chips with the same or larger portion but for less than what you are charging; an example of very good tasting and portion sizes for fish and chips is Pisces fishbar on coventry Road in sheldon.

Don't waste your time or money. Cod and chips have made me feel unwell. Food felt refried and poor quality.

Food is very over priced compared to my regular not far away, and chicken donner was dry and stale( may have gave me day befores donner)

The fish and chips is so so good. Love eating it from here, really recommend it. Only thing is that its a bit pricey but you get what you pay for I guess :)

I'm a regular, the whole family love the big fish chip shop,the fish and chips are perfect and it always seems to taste better,I've tried a lot of different things burgers sausage roe chicken and it's all tastes really nice my mom loves it. Staff are great polite friendly I really recommend this chip shop, don't waiste your money on the cheap places put the extra and enjoy quality fish and chips traditional fish and chips.

Please avoid!!!! My household had ordered from Big Fish on the 8/06/23 at 5:45pm through Uber Eats . Everything was going well, it then said 25 minutes past 6 that it was meant to be arriving. 25 minutes have went by, now saying an extra 15 minutes. 15 minutes have went by and it’s still not here. Then said 30 minutes. So we’ve tried to ring the restaurant about where our order is or if the driver is on the way, as soon as I told him that, he ended the call, and then when I tried to ring back again, he answered it, then ended it straight away. 30 minutes past & then it said 20 minutes. It arrived 5 more minutes more. The delivery driver was nice & respectful. He felt really apologetic & non stop said sorry. He said there was a crash on the COV road which is fake because my boyfriends step dad has just went up to big fish to complain and said that there isn’t no crash on the Cov Road on his side or the opposite way. When our food came, I had a zinger burger with an hash brown, and the chicken was hard as a rock, I was hitting my chicken against the plate & it was that hard, large chunks of this chicken were coming apart. There was also a crunch and a little thud to it. My chips were cold as if they were just put onto a container and left for half an hour. There was no salad which I had ordered salad on my burger. My boyfriends burger was the same as mine ( we had the same ) my boyfriends step dad ordered chips & masala fish. It was freezing cold. My boyfriends mom ordered a chicken and mushroom pie with chips & it was that cold, it was as if they’ve taken it out of the freezer and just put it in the bag. Not heated, nothing. It was that cold I could press my finger onto it & it would show my finger print in the ice on top of it. PLEASE PLEASE AVOID. I used to order from here atkeast a year ago, it was very good food but the customer service was rubbish. I will definitely not be ordering from here again. I think it is very disgraceful how they can put frozen food in a bag that apparently were able to eat. SELFISH. As I said, please avoid.

Very poor experience, only wanted a cone of chips and had to wait for 10 minutes just to order even thought I was next in the que. The only take one order at a time and only give the food out in the order they take the orders. They Need to take multiple orders at a time!

Best quality chip shop we have tried for miles. Great cod, not other fish other than cod, and great chips. They use good quality fat and potatoes are always top quality. They take thier time with the chips to ensure crispy/fluffy perfection. Well done guys, it's not cheap but it's the best value for money and quality.

Would rate zero if I could. Very bad service my wife went in today to get food their was a guy who went in same time as her. The man on till middle aged with white beard ignore my wife and was looking at the man who didn’t even decide yet what he wants to eat then after he ordered the guy on the till still ignored my wife and was asking other one about sauces he would like and yet his food was going to take long to make.there was no one else waiting for food he still didn’t take order so My wife walked out after 5 mins of just waiting. Not happy and won’t be coming here again

QUALITY OF FOOD AND CLEANLINESS GOING DOWN AS COMPARE TO WHEN THEY START BUSINESS

I thought living near a fast food establishment would prove advantageous. Wrong. Where do we start? Customer service: Are you hungry and would like some fast, and easy food quickly? Look elsewhere! (Plenty of shops all along Coventry Road, and small heath) you will be lucky if the phone is answered to take your order. The shop when first opened was excellent. Now you have extortionate prices, and atrocious customer service. I ordered my food today 30 mins to collect it at a less busy time of the day. I walk in and report my order. Im met with a blank expression by the catering assistant, as he hurriedly prepares my food. Another 15 minutes wasted as other, competing orders took mine. Not the first, second or third time. This review is my final purchase from this business, and I will redirect my hard earned money elsewhere. For me, the shop is more focused on profit and uninterested in delivering a quality service to its customers. this is evident through ignoring orders, extortionate prices and terrible people skills. interestingly, (while situated in the middle of small heath) The shop appears more to be a mosque or some sort of sect-adherent food centre. It doesn't feel like a chip shop (You walk into multiple TVS emblazoning saints and religious figured revered by the shop owners) it's just all a little strange I guess for a dining experience (even from someone who is religious like myself - again this is a food business in the UK - just setting the expectations here) so this should demonstrate that? If you order through Ubereats, you might spend a good 30-40 pounds for soggy food that is delivered dilapidated an hour later. Again, I have had multiple experiences with this business, and I am not commenting frivolously or in jest. The majority of positive reviews are strangely co-incidental and positive. (I am business manager and I know how a business should be run - There is no way these reviews are indicative of true customer experience) The shop is always swarming buys despite the poor service (The 20,000 somewhat Small Heath population clearly just want an on demand service as opposed to one of quality like me which is just as well) I wonder how their reported tax return to HMRC aligns with their actual profit. Interestingly, they only take cash. I will leave that right there for you to decide. Food: Is not bad. but what you have to navigate to get it? Nope. a solid 0.225 /10

What a lovely family-run chippy! Been going Big Fish for years just haven’t got round to writing a review. The quality of the chips are fantastic and the fish really fresh. It comes in a box which is great & doesn’t get messy. The curry sauce & chilli sauce are perfect.. Great value for money,

Went with my wife and two daughters, they trnedt religious nasheeds up so loud by just us but there customers could barely hear them when ordering an they refused to turn it down if anything turned it up, VERY RUDE! Think about other customers who are not so religious, or some who are dtferedif religion, not very diverse, plus think about little babies too with such loud horrible noise blaring at them. The iebab was dry and stale, and the masala fish i swear was rotten, didn't Tate like fish, tasted weird, maybe it was off,.....and maybe they sell out of date food and rotten fiidyocustomers they don't like, BOYCOTT THIS PLACE PEOPLE! They refuse to let you pay by card and cash only so they can avoid taxes, it's called FRAUD! ,and they think they can get away with it. and then to top it off they sell you old rotten food and ingredients thinking they can again get away with constiantly ripping off customers but soon as a customer does it to them they don't like it, double standards, for the FRAUD alone this place needs shutting down, never mind the awful food , rather eat from a local dogs home tbh.

Haven’t been here in a really long time, thought I’d give it a try again and leave a review too. Got the fish and chips with a portion of donner and curry sauce. Decently priced for the size, the food was all completely fresh and steaming hot. I quite like the donner since it’s thinner than most places, the fish itself was nice and crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, chips were nice and the curry sauce was delicious. I’d recommend getting the cod fish and next time I’ll get the masala fish and masala fish bites.

In general, fish & chips is oily. But this one surprisingly is oily but really dry at the same time. Never again.

Pricey but worth it, perfect fish and chips, would recommend the curry sauce, and Masala fish is a must try.

Masala cod is unexpectedly good! Chips is on average. Many people are looking forward to takeaway there. However the chicken is not seasoning and a bit wet… overall is awesome, just too long to waiting for.

Tasty and fresh food, we had Seesh kebab, finger fish, masala fish and chicken shwarma with nan. Sitting of 8 people possible in door. Parking could be tricky at time but free ofcharge. Avoid going around 3pm school close time, they're very busy and crowded.

Nice place to eat. Chicken doner chips are the best. Missed one star because you always forget to give sauces with takeaway orders. Last week I placed an order of almost 30£, when I came home and opened the bag there was no sauce dip inside. Really like your food. Delicious because it’s properly cooked. 🔥🔥

Fish is not that good as it is too plain for my taste even the Masala fish, but naans are really good.

Ordered a few items today from big fish off uber eats. Food was exceptionally good as always but why give options on uber eats to put salad or sauce on your chips in your meals etc and when customer has it no salad/sauces (other than dips) at all which is why I only gave 4/5 stars that 1 star is particular due to the fact of not giving the that customer the satisfaction of what they ordered exactly.

The fish I had was not fried freshly and was dry and stale at the same time if you know what I mean very annoyed because I was a regular and it's happend now more than a handful off times I cannot be returning to return my food so I'm not returning.

Undercooked chips, chilli completely watered down, chicken donner has pure food dye with complete lack of spice. The owner is more concerned with quantity of orders rather than quality of food.

This place is seriously overrated. The problem is, being called 'Big Fish', I presumed it was a fish specializing place. Not so. Instead they only sell cod and chips, no other fish or fish and chip shop classics. And the cod and chips are not great. Expensive, but not better quality than any other cheap grimey takeaway which you can find on every street corner in Birmingham. The batter is thin, limp, stodgy and tasteless. The chips are average at best, all bits and bobs and dry inside, just basic cheap frozen chips. The portions are large but it is definitely quantity over quality. The cod and chips are served in a nice box, that was about the best bit of the experience. Definitely would not recommend and I would not buy fish from here again.
