The Beverley Hotel in Cardiff

Had a great visit on Saturday night for the football. Had some really good food which was reasonably priced. The staff were all friendly and will definitely be visiting again!!

Went along to try some food as it was recommended to me and the staff were really welcoming and friendly,Ordered the mega mixed grill and although I was told the food is nice I was really impressed as it was one of the best I've had in a long time.I will be returning

Recently visited the Beverly and booked 2 tables from 9pm till 12am. One member of staff noted that we were all together and as a result kindly took us to two tables that were next to each other (we didn’t ask for this but it was much appreciated) 5 minutes later another member of staff came to our tables and said that we were not allowed to speak to each other across the two tables and then proceeded to move half of our group to the other side of the pub and in addition to this stated that we would in fact only be able to stay for an hour despite having a 3 hour booking. The way we were spoken to was outrageous so much so that even near by tables complained about the staff and their ill service. I myself then went to speak to the manager just to make them aware of the situation and was told that based on what I looked like I was not the type of person that she would want in her pub and then just simply walked away when I attempted to respond (for the record all of our group were celebrating a graduation and we were all dressed smart for the occasion) Overall the experience was dreadful I would not recommend the Beverly to anyone and I definitely will not be returning.

The service was absolutely fantastic. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. The food was very tasty and reasonably priced. This will be our new local!

Food was okay but certain things not available. The ordering app kept crashing. Trying to get the staff to take our order was a challenge. They preferred to stand around the bar chatting amongst themselves with their face masks hanging from one ear! Not a good example to set for customers who were required to wear full face masks when walking/standing.

Have had a great stay , food excellent , members of staff even better , one gentleman member the stand out he was great was there to serve on the night and up and serving for breakfast too .

First day back out after lockdown, had 1/2 price meals - very tasty. Staff were great, especially Jeff who was extremely calm whilst dealing with customers refusing to socially distance or wear masks - they were asked to leave after getting a little aggressive and threatening to put bad reviews on here. Kudos to all the staff for their patience and care for all their customers. Would highly recommend this friendly pub.

We visited the Beverly on several ocassions and the food was always fantastic as was the service. The staff are really friendly and the homemade tartar sauce is the best I have ever had!!

Had a fantastic visit before the pandemic and was slightly concerned to come under new circumstances with new rules, so pleasantly surprised by the genuine care and service of staff. The food and service was excellent and felt very safe. 5*

No he estado en este pub durante años debido a malas experiencias anteriores con el personal grosero. No debería haberme molestado en regresar ya que una vez más nos encontramos con una hostilidad extrema por parte de uno de los hombres del bar. Debe haber un programa de formación realmente especial para el personal de este establecimiento. Evite a toda costa.

Visité este lugar para tomar una copa por la tarde. Le han dicho que no se ría y que se calme. Me senté con mi esposa, mi amiga embarazada y mi suegra de 70 años. Manténgase alejado de lo que es una barra deprimente durante este momento difícil. El personal es grosero e inútil.

Pedí un cóctel que llegó con lápiz labial.Se le dice que mantenga el ruido bajo al reír.¿Uno de nuestros familiares estaba embarazada de 9 meses ?.Esta fue la bebida de la tarde con la familia, solo habíamos pedido 3 bebidas. . . No ebrio .Muy frío ? actitud poco acogedora. Impactante .Después de trabajar con el público en general durante muchos años, 8 de ellos trabajaron como tripulantes de cabina para British Airways.Entiende totalmente al público.Sin embargo, el personal de este pub necesita formación sobre servicios al cliente. nunca volverá.

Pasamos un fin de semana encantador aquí, el personal fue muy amable y servicial, la comida estaba muy rica y no tenemos ninguna queja. Tuve uno de los mejores fines de semana en mucho tiempo. Cardiff es hermoso y el personal lo hizo perfecto. ¡Gracias a todos!

Mi esposo, mi familia y yo visitamos el 12 de septiembre 20 por la tarde para una visita reservada. Todo el personal hizo todo lo posible para ayudar y hacer que nuestra visita fuera especial. Solo tomamos bebidas en el pub, pero el servicio fue excelente y cuando nuestro tiempo se acabó, el personal organizó otra mesa afuera. Gracias por responder a nuestras reseñas. Me gustaría aclarar algunas cosas ahora. En primer lugar, teníamos 2 mesas reservadas de 8, lo que explicaría por qué éramos cerca de 20 cuando llegamos. Habíamos planeado esta noche durante un tiempo y nos habíamos asegurado de que todos tuvieran un lugar reservado. Ambas mesas de tesis estuvieron adentro del 8 al 11 y tenemos un correo electrónico de confirmación que lo confirma. En segundo lugar, la razón por la que reservamos aquí a pesar de las malas experiencias fue por 2 razones. En primer lugar, tienes una pantalla grande que planeamos ver la liga de campeones por dentro, en segundo lugar, fue un resultado nivelado, por lo que en todas partes ya estaba muy lleno y nuestra mano estaba un poco forzada. En tercer lugar, cuando llegamos allí, nuestros modales no fueron agresivos. Solo nos volvimos conflictivos después de 15 minutos tratando de averiguar por qué no estábamos sentados para las reservas que habíamos confirmado. Esto puede verse por el hecho de que no tuvimos ningún problema en ningún pub antes o después del tuyo esa noche a pesar de tu afirmación de que estábamos "muy borrachos". Un habitual allí empujó a uno de nuestros amigos que estaba hablando con uno de los miembros del personal sobre estar sentado. No me sorprendió cuando pasé por el pub varios días después, a la hora de la cena, mis amigos y yo vimos al mismo hombre sentado afuera bebiendo una pinta contigo, la dueña del pub. Esto confirmó nuestras suspensiones de que claramente tenía influencia con el personal. Finalmente, me gustaría decir de nuevo que no hay ningún problema en no querer gente más joven y ruidosa en su pub, pero tal vez podría informarnos eso antes de planificar nuestra noche de resultados de nivel A y arruinarla por completo.

Acabo de leer algunas "reseñas" aquí dejadas por algunas personas la semana pasada (agosto de 2020).Estuve allí esa noche, fueron los resultados de nivel A el jueves. Mi marido y yo salimos a tomar una copa tranquilamente después de cenar en El'Ganos. Esta fiesta mostró una total falta de respeto por todos los presentes, incluidos ellos mismos.Sin distanciamiento social, muchos de ellos entre 15 y 20 alrededor de una mesa. Borracho más allá de sus límites, grosero, desagradable y amenazante para el personal y 2 caballeros mayores que intentaron mantener las cosas en orden.Estamos en medio de una pandemia mundial y usted actuó como lo hizo. No lo habrías hecho si tus padres estuvieran trabajando allí.Debería haber sido arrestado y examinado en el lugar. El resto del pub se sentó en silencio, bebiendo y actuando con responsabilidad. Hasta que apareciste @SamThomas y el resto del espectáculo de los muppets.El personal estaba haciendo su trabajo según lo definido por el Gobierno de Gales con respecto al covid, y su grupo fue grosero y complaciente con ellos.Todos los lugares de la Catedral operan con una política prohibida. Su grupo debe ser consciente de esto y ajustar su comportamiento al de un adulto normal, socialmente consciente y responsable, algo de lo que todos están claramente muy lejos en este momento.

We’ll become regulars! We’ve been in twice in the last week and the quality of food and drink is excellent.You get a good pint, we went as a couple and then with family. Everyone’s food was excellent and reasonable. You can’t argue with that. The service (even given the current COVID-19 situation!) is great also. All in its great and we will be regulars. Thanks to the team.

I came in and had a meal and some manly lagers, very nice no problem at all. Great bar staff, attentive and very helpful, especially Geoff who is marvellously helpful!

As usual, another fabulous visit. Great food, great rooms and wonderful staff recommend a stay here looking forward to my next visit

My family and I have been coming here for many years for special occasions including: Birthdays and Christmas meals. The service is always excellent and the food is always well presented, delicious and well portioned. The team are always welcoming and endeavour to provide the best service they can. The pub/ restaurant has recently been refurbished and it is a comfortable environment to relax and have a drink and/or food. Would highly recommend as somewhere for local people to visit or indeed anyone who is visiting Cardiff!

Had a large group booked, confirmed over the phone and when we arrived they said we could only stay for 1 hour rather than the 4 hours booked. Then we were refused service for no apparent reason. When asked they gave no reason and became aggressive. One customer (clearly a regular) shoved one of my friends, and the staff there sided with the customer and did nothing. Instead we were forced to leave the pub, despite having a booking, completely ruining the entire night. God damn awful. If you are under 60 and want a good night out, don't go here.

We had booked a table from 8-11pm for 8 people inside and this was confirmed over the phone where details were taken prior to the booking. Immediately they told that the best they could do was offer us a table outside from 8-9pm. All social distancing rules were being adhered too as we were willing to stay with our groups and not mix between tables. Then when we disputed the matter one of our friends was shoved aggressively by another customer and the owners/employees the pub proceeded to do nothing to handle matter. Our night was based around this booking and it was meant to be a celebration of A-level results which was absolutely ruined. Shambles

Been here several times over the last year and always seem to have a bad experience. The lady behind the bar is particularly problematic and I’ve seen here throw out several groups each time usually for nothing. I once saw her threaten to ban someone from the pub for swearing whilst it was packed and we were watching wales in the World Cup semi finals get nocked out by a point. She didn’t seem to realise she owns a pub not a library. She’s also confiscated people’s ID before and kicked out groups who’ve booked a table for 3 hours, 20 mins after they’ve arrived. I understand each pub has an audience and that clearly she doesn’t want younger people in here pub being loud and antisocial but the pub could at least let parties know that when they book so their whole evening isn’t ruined when they kick them out as soon as they arrive because they not the usual fossilised pensioners they are used to serving.

I booked a table for 3 hours to watch the football with my mates . When we arrived they denied us of our booking . When we asked why we are being denied of our booking with out any valid reason they asked us to leave and called the police on us . Would recommend the cricketers pub across the street much better service .

Reserved a table for 8-11, got told we only had a one hour slot, then told we couldn’t order drinks. Don’t go here awful service

We stayed in this hotel on the 1st March. We chose it for its proximity to the National express coach station. We were not disappointed. The room was very good. Large comfortable bed and a huge bathroom. Continental breakfast included in the price that was very reasonable. I had eggs Benedict which was an extra 5 pounds. The staff were exeptionaly helpful. We walked into Cardiff ( 10/15 minutes walk to centre) There was a small carpark and we were able to leave the car there for a couple of hours after we had checked out.

Hi! I came here for a business meeting, having been to the Beverley Hotel before. Yet again I received fantastic service from Geoff, the barman, Geoff. Thanks for that Geoff, very helpful. Geoff gave me directions to the office I needed to get to, then Geoff helped me very my time to my room. Very helpful as always Geoff, thanks Geoff!

Enjoyed lunch here on Sunday - three people, three different meals. We all enjoyed our food which was reasonably priced - and the service was really good.

El lugar estaba muy animado para un viernes por la noche, llegamos tarde debido a un largo viaje en coche, nos decepcionó que no hubiera espacios de estacionamiento debido a que se anunciaba con estacionamiento gratuito. Tuve que aparcar en la calle. No estaba muy claro cómo llegar a la parte del hotel, ya que el bar estaba muy ocupado.Una vez que entramos y entramos en nuestra habitación, decidimos conseguir algo de comida, pero todas las mesas estaban ocupadas y era demasiado ruidoso, así que fuimos.Las habitaciones eran muy bonitas, limpias y modernas.Los baños eran encantadores.El desayuno de la mañana era bueno, es una pena que abrió a las 8 de la mañana. Las 7 de la mañana hubieran sido mejores ya que tuvimos que salir temprano debido a un advenimiento.Sorprendentemente, las habitaciones estaban muy tranquilas? y no pude escuchar a nadie más. El tipo que nos registró fue muy amable y servicial, no entendió su nombre.

The bedroom was lovely clean ,warm and everything you could wish for on an overnight stay , staff were helpful and breakfast was good Recommend

We came in quite drunk but weren't rowdy , 2 of us ordered food but when the rest of the group ordered they were met with hostility, it was an unfortunate communication that could of ended easy , the managerial bar staff were exceptional in offering us a refund ect, but sadly it was ruined by one rude abrupt female barstaff. I hope they can address the issue and see that sometimes being in a pre-emtive mood can result in the let down of customer service. Good pub let down by the few.

Nos alojamos una noche para asistir a un concierto, recibidos por un personal cálido y amable.Nuestra habitación, estaba limpia, cama cómoda, televisión grande y un baño estupendo en la suite. Todo lo que necesitábamos.No puedo comentar sobre las comidas principales, debido a que está ocupado no puede conseguir una mesa.Bebidas, caras en comparación con los athoers en la localidad,Ruido, se advirtió que sería ruidoso hasta alrededor de las 12:30 am, así que estaba bien preparado.El desayuno fue decepcionante. Incluido en el precio era continental. Muy mala selección, sin fiambre ni queso

Nos detuvimos aquí para comer y beber antes de que un estacionamiento para conciertos fuera fácil y el pub parece que tuvo una renovación moderna. La comida salió rápidamente y tenía una buena relación calidad-precio, hamburguesas grandes! aunque se demoraron en sacar una hamburguesa, incluso después de recordarles que se habían olvidado de sacarla. No hubo verificación para ver si estábamos bien y debió haber tomado más de una hora recoger nuestros platos después de la comida a pesar de que era un lunes por la noche tranquilo.

Had a revamp, nice. Food was OK (although took 1 hour 30 to arrive, but that's not what the review is about!!)

All our meals were burnt. We complained . In fairness . We had all our money back, but I wouldn’t go there again

Visited here on business and stayed in the inn keepers lodge. WOW , the rooms are so modern and super clean and beds are awesome. The shower is the best I’ve been in. The food is out of this world and the service and standards are outstanding. It’s so nice to watch the manager who I believe was the GM take so much pride in her work and her team. Definitely recommend

Very welcoming on arrival. Massive room with good design and feel. Huge bathroom and lovely bed. Everything in room is brand new and looks fabulous. The food in the restaurant is good, lots of choice and well priced. Breakfast is tip top.

This is a review of the pub. The hotel might be very nice, I wouldn't know.

A cena, hamburger e tacos. Locale non pieno e più di mezz’ora di attesa. Dimenticando pure una parte di ordinazione e il tacos arriva freddo. Impressione di disorganizzazione.

What a lovely hotel. Extremely helpful staff and the rooms are lovely. Modern and spotless bathroom and room. Large flatscreen TV. Tea and coffee facilities. Really comfy bed. We stayed when it was extremely hot and they even provided a fan. The location is easy to find and they have a small car park at the back. Be careful how you park as it can be a little tight. Our room was quite high up with quite a few stairs which we didn’t mind but worth noting. The only reason this isn’t a 5 star review is because of the noise. The hotel is also a bar / restaurant. It was an extremely busy Saturday night when we were they and even with the windows closed you could still hear the noise downstairs. This stopped around 1130pm so wasn’t a big problem but I wouldn’t recommend staying here if you want an early night. Check out is at midday though so you can have a lie in! We would definitely stay here again. Great value for money.

Good location just 10-15 mins walk to city centre. Good breakfast. Good range of drinks at the bar and friendly service. Car park is really useful as parking is tricky in this area.

We stayed here last week and had a great stay. The room was lovely and very clean. It was massive too. The staff were very accommodating and the food in the bar was lovely. It's so reasonably priced and is so close to town. Will be staying here again next time.

Came here with my sons in law before going on to watch the cricket and its had a excellent makeover since the last time I was there. It was very busy and the bar staff were excellent. The food prices were were very good and they had a good menu. Great atmosphere and would come again.

6pm on a sunny Friday afternoon and there are two bar staff to serve drinks, clear tables, and serve food. Not their fault, but the tables are a mess and a ten minute wait to get drinks

The hotel excellent,the rooms very comfortable, the staff very helpful& so polite nothing too much trouble for them.we are going again for 4 nights on 21st till25 June we would not stay in any other hotel in cardiff.many thanks Maggie campbell

Went for lunch with a couple of colleagues. Nice spacious restaurant with a very friendly welcome. Typical pug grub but done nicely at a reasonable price. I would go again if the need arose.

We were given a warm and friendly welcome. Chose the Korean chicken (see photo) for lunch. Very good. We stayed overnight, room clean continental breakfast included. All good. Special mention for the Manager Kate. Nice, friendly welcoming host.

We stayed across the road on Saturday night and popped into the Beverley for breakfast. The food was good. Great latte and orange juice. Good service at a reasonable price.

Acabamos de llegar a Cardiff, nuestra habitación no estaba del todo lista, así que fuimos a Beverley a almorzar, la habíamos encontrado en Internet y parecía nuestro tipo de lugar. Teníamos razón Dan nos dio la bienvenida y fue de gran ayuda ya que tenía mi scooter de movilidad y él nos ayudó a estacionarla y apartarla de otras personas. Mi esposo pidió Gammon y yo pedí Fish & Chips, ambos fueron cocinados muy bien y presentado encantador. Solo estamos aquí por un par de días para ver a nuestro nieto jugar en una final de rugby de la universidad en el Estadio del Principado, pero si tenemos una oportunidad, sin duda volveremos, lo recomendaría sumamente.

Room was small but clean and the bed was really comfortable. Disappointed with the breakfast and you had to pay more if you wanted a cooked breakfast.

We booked for one night to go to uni open day next day. They let us check in early. We wanted to explore Cardiff and the manageress was so helpful and had great ideas to help us get the best out of our short visit. Including the water bus to the bay which we would not have known about otherwise. All the staff so friendly. We had a family room which was lovely, clean and spacious. Continental breakfast included was lovely. In the evening we ate down in the pub and food great value and chef was lovely and very accommodating. Even let us leave our luggage for the day while we at the uni. All round very good hotel and pub

Wow, came here for a friendly beer, and was not disappointed! The barman, Geoff, gave me loads of info about Cardiff, what to do, where to go, what to see... He really couldn't have been more friendly, really professional, he's a star, what a guy!!!

I stayed here for two nights to meet up with friends. My room and ensuite were spotlessly clean. The mattress was firm, which was perfect for me (I know some people like softer mattresses). A bit noisy in the night, but for what I paid I was very happy with the room.

Wow, usted es el personal del bar puede ser un gran trabajador (?) Pero son un grupo absoluto de copos de nieve. Hubo un incidente en el que se rompió un vaso en la barra (accidente completo resultante de una barra llena) y la persona responsable se disculpó de inmediato porque fue un accidente. ¡Fueron prohibidos! ! Otra persona gritó su orden cuando Gales anotó un intento hoy y se le impidió ser agresivo y ruidoso. ¡Guauu! ¡Qué montón de excusas extremadamente inseguras y patéticas para el personal del bar, incluso el portero salió con disgusto! El asistente del gerente del bar necesita lecciones de servicio al cliente. ¡No se moleste en gastar su dinero en caso de que tenga un momento de torpeza o tenga la oportunidad de alzar la voz cuando alguien anote un intento! Escuché que no es la primera vez y tienen una reputación de ser un poco "blanda"

Very clean & comfortable room. The buffet breakfast was superb, making for an excellent value stay. Our room was on the 2nd floor, it was silent! We will definitely be rebooking for our future visits. Convenient for shopping centre which we explored on Sunday. All the staff were friendly and welcoming.

Went for food here as staying at inkeepers lodge. Meals really good especially ultimate all day breakfast. Drinks very reasonable.2 4 1 on cocktails and other offers on food and drink staff helpful and friendly

Wow! Our team booked our Xmas lunch (24) of us and pre-ordered our food from the Festive Menu which was excellent value for money. We were shown to our table on arrival, had 4 free bottles of Prosecco and jugs of iced water ready for us and the added bonus of a Xmas card with vouchers to use in January - a nice touch!

A group of 10 people booked for a post match lunch, we pre booked our menu choices and when arrived was shown immediately to our table. Our meals were delivered promptly and everyone in the party enjoyed their meals which were excellent value for money. We would definitely visit the hotel again and would give a big thumbs up for the service. Great start to a great day.

Popped in to the Beverley Hotel for their Large Cooked Breakfast. Beautifully cooked and promptly served. Couldn't want a better start to the day!

Stayed at this hotel and ate there two nights very good value for money both drinks and food nice bar staff

El personal era amable y servicial. La habitación estaba limpia pero claramente estaba cansada y necesitaba desesperadamente una reforma. Digo eso pero solo tengo una queja real. La cama era muy, muy firme y bastante abultada, así que en realidad no dormimos bien.

Me alojé en el Hotel Beverley el último fin de semana de septiembre, de viernes a domingo. Estaba visitando a unos amigos en Cardiff, pero me quedaba solo en el hotel. El personal fue increíblemente acogedor, especialmente el gerente Kate y Chelsea. Me he alojado aquí antes por la misma razón y es la sensación de hogar lejos del hogar lo que me hace volver. La habitación estaba limpia y la cama era cómoda, preciosa ducha caliente! La comida es siempre deliciosa, hay mucho para elegir. Volveré otra vez para que el personal en el Beverley esté preparado! !

Este es un buen hotel a un precio muy razonable en una buena ubicación. La comida era buena y nuestra habitación era grande y muy limpia. Podíamos caminar fácilmente al castillo de Cardiff y había muchos restaurantes y pubs en el camino. El personal no podría haber hecho lo suficiente para nosotros y todos fueron amables y serviciales, especialmente Simon. En general, una buena estancia. ¡Volveremos!

A midweek one night stay and was fortunate to arrive in time to get a space in the car park at the rear of the hotel. Although there is on road parking, there weren't any spaces nearby. Our room was comfortable albeit a little small as was the bathroom. It was very comfortable and had everything we needed, tea, coffee etc and toiletries. As it was extremely hot, they provided a fan in the room which was a godsend as it kept the room cool throughout the night. Continental breakfast was provided which was satisfactory but would suggest there was more choice, perhaps include cheese and ham rather than salami etc. The staff were a little unhelpful and didn't offer us a full cooked breakfast which we believe was also available or advise on where things were. Overall a good value stay and would recommend

Had a great few days here. We usually stop in a premier Inn but fancied a change and we were not disappointed.

My husband and I went with the mother in law. The food was really good and really good value. My steak was cooked perfectly medium rare. And the rest of the food went down well with them. I’m only negative wasn’t wasn’t not busy yet our empty plates were left on our table for quite some time and were not removed until we left.

Dined here three times over the last three days. Twice at tea time and for Sunday lunch today. Great value for money and tasty good portions. Will definitely be eating here again when next in Cardiff.

Had two meals here in two days. Flame grilled burger & chips £5, Steak with jacket fresh tomatoes mushrooms & onions £7.50. I sneaked in for a breakfast unlimited Tea n Coffee £4.50 .

For a budget hotel it was amazing- I have paid 3 times this price for less. Lovely spacious room - could have been a family room - easy chairs coffee and tea - large private bathroom- only gripe was the shower had no pressure. We were there for 3 days visiting family around the corner will certainly be back regularly. Towels changed every day - room 10 quite a find

Low price reflected by low comfort - poor quality pillows / mattress. A shower that was actually unusable as it was a small shower head that did not project far enough over the bath to enable showering. Decent continental breakfast included in the price. Won't be returning.

This has been the second time we have stayed here. The staff are great, the rooms are clean and big. And location is great also. Can’t wait to return at easter

We came here as we were staying opposite and wanted a bite to eat. So came in and sat down in the mostly empty pub. We ordered 2 burgers, and I found an interesting chicken and duck burger. This was great, however had asked for no salad/sauce and received both.....

Stayed here for 1 night with my hubby and must say we had such a lovely time here. Great staff, great food, great pub and the bed was one of the comfiest beds we've slept in. Room was very spacious . Free parking aswell. We will definitely come & stay here again and would recommend it to anyone ..

Visited the beverley hotel on a busy sunday, for some food, drinks and to watch the football that was on that day. Managed to get a table in the back with a tv screen to watch the football but was not allowed too turn the sound up on the tv as it was the restaurant part of the pub, which was fair enough. Food had mixed reviews within our group. I was happy with the mixed grill i was served but others were unsatisfied with the garlic chicken and the triple chicken burger order got mixed up with a triple chicken platter. £3.50 for a pint of coors light, an ok price for that part of cardiff.

Our guide suggested the Restaurant, which is about 1 block down and across the street from our hotel. The staff were pleasant and efficient. The food is traditional Welsh and seafood. The wine list was limited, but good. All in all, a very nice meal.

The rooms were very clean & comfortable. The bed was also one of the most comfortable hotel beds I have slept in. The staff were very very friendly & helpful. The evening meal was very tasty. As check out time was noon we declined the continental breakfast that was only served until 9.30 & just bought a breakfast in the resturant later. Good value for a cooked breakfast £3.15 which was very nicely cooked. The city centre is only about a 15 minute walk & unlike the central hotels no charge for parking, will definately stay again.

We called in on a wet Friday night for a welcome hot coffee. The place was warm and welcoming and the staff were friendly. The place has a rather dated, run down air about it but this didn't mar our enjoyment. The place was however clean and tidy.

Received a 40% voucher and used this to purchase a mixed grill and a chicken pie. My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed the food, which was prompt, cooked really well and served with a smile. Always friendly, efficient staff who know their trade. The few pints of Rev James Gold were excellent.

Great atmosphere, friendly people, tasty food. A good reception to all and good accommodation. Breakfasts are varied and cover all tastes. Food is available all day.Sport features well here, there is nearly always some on television, and if not there is music. The music is varied.

Nice pub and friendly, helpful staff. Had a nice lunch here for a very reasonable price. Great location and lovely atmosphere.

We stayed as a party of four (hungry) golfers and couldn't get over the value for money offered here. Our first meal consisted of mixed grill (huge platefuls) and Chicken & Sticky ribs. We struggled to finish the excellent fare on offer.The bill?£33 for the three of us.Needless to say the friendly staff got a generous tip.Breakfast, eaten daily, was incredible value. £3.19 for a 'Classic' Breakfast, £1 or so more for an upgrade to the 'Big' Breakfast.If you're simply hungry and looking for the best value in town, don't walk past this place.

I didn't actually stay but met friends who did in the bar. Nice bar with friendly staff offering a good range of beers at reasonable prices. Good place to come to watch sport on the TVs, looks a good place to stay.

Good location close to the park, about a 15 minute walk to City Centre. Friendly staff, enormous English breakfast. Clean, no frills room. Unfortunately Room #2 window does not open, and it was quite warm during our visit. The small desk fan did not do much to cool off the space. It made the small room quite claustrophobic.Hotel unable to check bags so plan around that. We had an early evening flight so spent the afternoon in the pub with our luggage after 12:00 check out. With all that, I'd give it 3.5 stars if I could.

Visited prior to Glamorgans T20 match against Somerset as the Cayo was dead and the Cricketers was unwelcoming. Good service at the bar, good beer and the food was superb. I had the sweet potato and lentil curry and it was lovely.Good pub.

This was our first visit to Cardiff and was pleased that we had booked into this hotel, we arrived early and was able to leave the car parked in the hotel carpark while we had a look around the town. The staff were all very helpful and welcoming, our room was clean and comfortable, continental breakfast was good. We would defiantly book into this hotel again if we decided to visit Cardiff in the future.

Popped in for a drink. What I would class as a cheap and cheerful pub. Food available but looked standard fare. In general comfortable but a little worn
