The new menu offered the Sunday dinner which was simply delicious. I upgraded to the large Yorkshire (be rude not to haha) absolutely tasty and would recommend it. Hats off to the chef lizzie 😊😊

Well, I made it, despite your directions" . Bellowed quietly my boss for privacy we will call him Chalmers Ah, Chalmers, welcome. I hope you're prepared for an unforgettable luncheon! I replied It was at that moment I ran to my kitchen only to find my roast is burnt and gasp in horror Oh, egads! My roast is ruined! But what if I were to purchase food from the Ben lomond and disguise it as my own cooking? I chuckled Delightfully devilish, Seymour. I begin to climb through the window, but Chalmers entered the kitchen. Superintendent! I alarmed I was just...uh---just stretching my calves on the windowsill. Isometric exercise! Care to join me? Chalmers: Why is there smoke coming out of your oven, he asked (a problem they never have at the ben lomond) Uh... ooh! That isn't smoke, it's steam! Steam from the steamed clams we're having. Mmmm, steamed clams! I quipped back [Once Chalmers left the kitchen, i breathed a sigh of relief, climbed out the window, and runs across the street hopped on the 27 and popped to the ben, where i bought burgers and french fries and onion rings to replace my burnt roast. Lucky it was a Thursday where they are buy one get one free I enter the dining room with the fast on a silver tray (provided by me not the pub) I hope you're ready for mouthwatering HAMBURGERS. I announce I thought we were having steamed clams. Rebuttled my boss who's fake name I've already forgot Oh no, I said 'steamed hams'. That's what I call hamburgers. I replied You call hamburgers 'steamed hams'? Said boss man Yes! It's a regional dialect. I replied Uh-huh. Eh, what region? He quipped Uh...upstate JARROW Really? Well I'm from the dark side and I've never heard anyone use the phrase 'steamed hams'. He said rudely Oh, not in the dark side no. It's an primrose expression. I retorted I see. He said gravyly He takes a bite out of a burger and chews it a little, while i sips my drink a lovely Fanta orange I picked up at the Ben lomond You know, these hamburgers are quite similar to the ones they have at the best pub on Grange Road the Ben lomond he said with a mouth full of meaty meat Hohoho, no! Patented me Burgers. Old family recipe! I replied lyingly For steamed hams? He alleged Yes. I replied Yes, and you call them steamed hams, despite the fact they are obviously grilled. By Paul the best chef in the world He said getting that description bang on Y- Uh.. you know, the... One thing I should... excuse me for one second. I said caught outedly Of course. He said smugly I enter and leave the kitchen swiftly upon seeing it is now on fire Well, that was wonderful. A good time was had by all. I'm pooped. I said stuffed and unconcerned about fire Yes, I should be--good lord, what is happening in there?! He said unable to quench the satisfactory feeling of that burger knowing life had peaked and would never be the same again Aurora Borealis? I replied quickly and fastly Ah- Aurora Borealis?! At this time of year, at this time of day, in this part of the country, localized entirely within your kitchen?! He sounded surprised but not as surprised as I was at the value of the food Yes. I said sayingly ...May I see it? He quized ...No. I stated We exit the house as the kitchen fire grows larger not to worry we where off to the pub for more ben lomond burgers and fries . The house is on fire! Shouted agnus who is irrelevant to this tale No, it's just the Northern Lights. Obviously Well, you are an odd fellow, but I must say... you steam a good ham. Much like they serve a delightful pint at the Ben lomond

We had some absolutely delicious food and possibly the best pint of Guinness in Jarrow from Laura (along with amazing service!) Deffo worth a visit!

My partner and I eat here almost twice a week, we can never fault the service here, the food is always tasty and hot thanks to the chef Paul, and if there are any requests the servers Laura and Sandra are always happy to help make the experience a good one. We also like to bring our dog here too as the pub is dog friendly, the staff love to give our dog a treat or two which is a lovely touch and a bonus when our walks turn windy and wet.

The Ben Lomond has friendly staff, a welccoming atmosphere, easy service, Laura has a knowledge of the bars stock and can offer recommendations for what you are looking for.

Awesome burgers, the chips and onion rings are to die for. The staff are amazing and always efficient

Always feel nervous about eating out with the children as my son has autism and does not settle well in most environments. Turns out there was no need to worry in the slightest. Not only was the food lovely, member of staff called Laura seemed to sense my sons trepidation and was unbelievable at putting him at ease! This meant that not only did he actually eat and stay seated, I was able to enjoy and finish my meal! What an absolute credit to the company she is! I will definitely be taking the family again and all the better if the lady that helped is on shift too.

I would like to express how wonderful Sandra has always been when I visit regularly, no matter how busy not matter how late she always greets me with a welcoming smile! The reason I return on a regular basis is purely because of Sandra, Green king are extremely lucky to have such a wonderful lady workinf for there company! Had our restaurant cancel on us due to it having an outbreak of Covid so we booked a last minute table at the Ben Lomond, I was not disappointed, all the staff were incredible; Hayley especially who helped us use the order and pay app, also got us using the NHS Track and Trace app which had helped us a lot throughout the last few months being able to check into places without a wait. Truly a great visit, i did not expect to get seated on a walk in but I was seated almost immediately, had a drink less than 5 mins later and some nibbles not long after. Truly a great atmosphere and awesome service.

Visited for lunch yesterday, was greeted by incredibly welcoming staff who made me and my partner feel very safe and secure. Ordered a stake and was very impressed with the quality, great prices and great atmosphere !!

Came with my daughter for food and drinks and service was exceptional.Track and trace as entered, ensuring COVID measures explained, especially the wearing of masks whilst not seated. Table service only provided, quick and efficient service and accommodated my daughters request for a ‘deconstructed’ Hell Raiser burger (money going to Macmillan when one of the burgers are ordered so bonus!). Definitely recommend.

Popped in here with my partner for a few drinks and we had such a good time. The pub was quite busy but staff did a fab job of keeping everyone safe, we were explained track and trace at the door and how we could take our masks off whilst seated but to put them back on when visiting the toilets etc. After singing in we were taken to a nice table that had been cleaned prior to our arriving. Our drink orders were taken and were shortly With us, we even ended up having some picky food, the 1kg wings did not disappoint! Music was at a nice level so you could enjoy it whilst still having a conversation. Everything was great, thank you. ☺️

Staff are keeping the pub as safe as possible even with the new measures in place, even with low level music the atmosphere is still great, I’ve visited a few pubs since they reopened and the Ben is the one I’ve returned to the most and they have a new menu with a great selection

Stopped off for some lunch today and from the moment I stepped through the door I was greeted by a very pleasant young lady who just amazed me with her professionalism. Firstly, due to covid we went through the track and trace (which was one of the best run and layout I’ve seen and I’ve been to a lot of food venues) I was seated and offered a menu with plenty of choice. The burger and fries were lovely and very well presented served by yet another very helpful and polite member of staff. Staff seemed very happy in their job and a few even singing along the way which is nice to be amongst a happy atmosphere. Definitely a welcoming venue and I will definitely return if I’m in the area again.

The pub is running at a reduced menu and I asked for some dirty fries and they were amazing, they helped so much to accommodate what I was craving. Dan was my server and I believe it was Beth in the kitchen, they’re so friendly and kind. The pub is also dog friendly which is great, will return!! My partner had a Macmillan burger which the staff told us about the donation to Macmillan so we had to try it, it looked amazing. If you’re wanting quick service and want feel safe with COVID-19 this is a perfect place for a quiet bite to eat or a pint or two.

Had a lush night in here for a few drinks with my boyfriend and friends, food was great, staff were so helpful and super friendly! Reallt appreciated all the efforts the staff were going to to make sure we were safe and well attended to defo be back!

Always a pleasant experience and one of them pubs that always look after the regulars which is what you want. They’ll accommodate your music choice on the jukebox, the staff are always friendly and Humorous. Always have the football on and have special deals with the season ticket app which is pretty much opposite to most pubs who take the offers off when it’s going to busy.

I visited the Ben Lomond pub for a bar meal with my wife who is gluten free, and my Granddaughter who is very fussy, I was very impressed as it is one of the very few places where i have visited that had a menu for all. Separate gluten free menu, childrens menu also a standard and a-la-carte menu the staff were very friendly and helpful so we all had a great day out.

The bar staff are absolutely amazing, Perfect rare steak! And a delicious dessert! The atmosphere was great and I returned to see an amazing singer called Howie B, management know how to get the crowd going with top entertainment!

The Ben Lomond still managing to create a great atmosphere even after all the Christmas festivities! The staff were absolutely amazing over Christmas The place was rammed was the place to be, great beer, great food and great people cant wait for what the team gave in store for us this year xxx
