This hidden gem off the main road from Hereford to Kington is just a fantastic place to go. Jason and Lisa are the perfect hosts and the Carol is brilliant behind the bar. Home cooked food is always amazing and the atmosphere and ambiance just the best. We love to go for early evening drinks and then buy some great produce from the attached deli style shop for dinner. Well worth the time to visit.

The Bells Inn, is a gem of a find, we chose to go there based on other guests reviews especially comments about the ploughmans lunch, which is one of our favourite lunchtime meals. It wasn't on the route to our holiday destination, so we left early to allow for the detour and to have lunch. One of my best decisions this year! The landlord was very friendly without being "over the top" he has a great sense of humour. Now to the ploughmans, some reviewers say its the best they have ever had While I can't agree with that its certainly right up there. I can say that the food was very fresh , particularly the pea shoots which were young, tender and tasty unlike some that you encounter. There is a pleasant garden, should the waether be suitabl and it looks like some of the produce comes from that garden. All in all a thouroughly enjoyable meal and experience. In conclusion if we are ever heading in that direction again we will be calling at The Bells Inn

Stumbled across this quaint village hostelry whilst attending the Hay Festival and WOW what a lovely place. Ordered a light lunch and two local beers the Landlord Jason was very attentive, funny and the lunch menu was excellent with something for all tastes, I plumbed for the ploughman's thinking this would be a light option whilst my other half had the burger, how wrong could I be, the ploughman's was huge with an array of fresh crispy salad items and tasty cheese with the most scrumptious bread I have ever tasted, the burger was even better served with piping hot proper chips and all the add ons. We were stuffed and decided a desert was out of the question. Reasonably priced delicious food washed down with local ale what could be better. The locals clearly love this place as several popped in for the odd drink or to use the adjoining well stocked deli and village shop. We are not surprised this pub won best pub in Herefordshire, first class service, delicious food and very friendly locals, we will definitely return.

Was staying locally and the cottage guest book recommended the Bells Inn. Unfortunately I didn’t go until my last day as what a gem it is! A nice feel about the place even though it was quiet at the time (mid afternoon). Enjoyed a lovely pint of Robinsons cider then made some purchases from the great deli attached. The poached eggs I made today with the deli eggs were outstanding!! Will definitely call back if I’m anywhere in the vicinity. The outdoor areas, both front and back, looked great too. Looking forward to returning and trying the food. As well as getting a taxi for more drinks next time! Warm welcome too 😊

A ploughman's lunch with Gwatkin cider to wash it down must be one of the best value meals available. Add that it is eaten in a friendly pub, offering three real ales if you don't fancy cider, and that you have three beautiful cheeses, a huge imaginative salad and scrumptious bread and a feast is there to enjoy. The landlord was attentive and the service efficient. It was so good that I might take my wife next time!

Please support this local business, they very much deserve a visit. We popped in for lunch one day during our family holiday and were really impressed with the quality of the food and how accommodating everyone was. There were 19 of us plus 2 babies, so took up almost half the pub, a huge task to look after so many at such short notice, hats off to the owners they were amazing. We loved it so much we booked for an evening meal a couple of days later. Fantastic homemade steak and ale and chicken pies plus a special celiac meal and lovely puddings. Extremely reasonably priced and you can pick up some lovely produce from their adjoining shop. Not very often you visit somewhere that actually deserves a review 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

The food is not what I would have expected from a village pub - we had the most fantastic platter of delicious local ham and cheeses, homemade sausage roll, pickles, amazing brown bread and brilliant salad - all so beautifully presented. Certainly NOT a Chips with Everthing pub. Beautiful food. The adjoining shop was full of interesting, and unusual local produce as well as the usual everyday products. There was a lovely garden for children and it is a very child/dog friendly pub. A real gem in the middle of the lovely Herefordshire countryside. We visited this pub when doing a reckie of the area looking for properties up for sale and rental. ... obviously a good local is a must! The Bells Inn is off the beaten track but only a hop and a skip from the famous Black and White trail which travels through neighbouring Eardisley, and boy are people missing a treat to really rub shoulders with down to earth friendly local people rather than just more travellers! The landlords, Lisa and Jason run the establishment with no airs n graces just true welcoming hospitality. We found that nothing was too much trouble...Lisa offers an informal lunch time menu which is all freshly prepared according to what she has been cooking for the attached Deli that morning. . So you could be offered a chicken and ham pie or asparagus quiche, the largest ploughman's we've ever had (!) and then also the usual jacket spuds and filled rolls etc..and for those with a sweet tooth you just have to savour her chocolate brownies. .easily the best I've EVER had (and I didn't even like brownies before! )The piste de resistance has to be the attached Deli..perfect if you are on a hike or a day out, cos whilst you relax with your pint of local ale , Lisa will happily make you up a hamper/picnic for your travels, full of locally produced delicacies:)......We should know the pub and the people of the village was our decider in choosing a property to finally rent locally, so now we get to sample this ALL the time:)... step off the main road next time your in the area, and explore!
