Had the homemade lamb faggots and they were delicious. When I heard it was lamb week again couldn't wait to have one. Originally tried last September but my review didn't save. Dan's expertise in the kitchen is excellent. Going back for rack of lamb for my other half - I may have to have the faggots again.

Food is delicious here but I was greeted with "we are quite busy this lunchtime"... despite garden being empty and one customer in pub. Not particularly friendly and I had tried to call ahead but got no answer. If you arrive after 2pm you get turned away (good to note).... Welcoming patrons needs work.

If you want to experience a friendly and welcoming village pub that serves good food and beer then look no further! The Alma Inn is run by a lovely couple who, along with their staff, provide an experience that is hard to beat .... they provide great portions of locally produced really well cooked food which offers great value for money. We chose the menu from their specials board - beef, ale and mushroom pie and pan fried sea bass - both exceptional! We'll be making this a regular place to eat and drink.

Every member of our large family group gave the same verdict of our Christmas lunch on Saturday - excellent! The food was superb: fresh, well-cooked and presented. All dietary needs were met with a choice of mains and desserts for vegans, rare in most restaurants. The private dining room had the right ambience and the staff was efficient and attentive. It had the feel of a family party with games of 'Shut the Box' and 'Who Am I' rounding the afternoon off. Highly recommended!

Our first meal out with the kids since lockdown, and the first pub outing for our 6 month old Labrador, so a bit apprehensive on the welcome we would find as new dog owners. From the very beginning of our visit we were warmly welcomed by all the staff, who made us feel at home.We chose to dine outside under a large gazebo, which was very well spaced out without being over-sanitised like some venues. Service was quick and friendly, and ordering for our Vegan daughter was straightforward. The food was hot, delicious, and came in rather large portions - even the one Children’s meal we ordered would have fed an adult well. Ingredients appeared to be high quality and fresh, presentation was good without being fussy, and everyone was pleased with their choices. The menu caters for most tastes, without being too wide that you end up eating pre-prepared dishes. I’m a big-guy with an appetite to match, but having slipped the (delicious sounding) starters, I had no room for dessert - this time!A decent selection of cask ales was a bonus, I had two pints of the Ludlow Gold which was in fine condition! Price wise, I thought it was good value - mains were £10-£15 on the whole, starters around £5-£6 I think, and £3.69 a pint isn’t bad these days! This meal was the first of our holiday, travelling on to South Wales, and made a great start to our break - we would certainly call again and would divert 15 miles off our route to do so - worthy of a Michelin star in that regard! In summary: nice people, quick and no fuss service, good home cooked pub food with a twist, and great value.

The plain burger with bacon and cheese was a half pound burger put to the size of the 1/4 pounder. This was amazing but very thick, 5/5. Our group had planned to eat at the Beefeater at the end of the M50 on our way home only to find it was shut until the following week, we did a Google search of places to eat near us and the Alma Inn came up. We gave them a call and were told we had 20 minutes to get there because they were stopping their food service at 2pm. We duly arrived with about ten minutes to spare, and all credit to the hosts, when they saw the size of our group (11 people) they kept the kitchen open for us. We ordered our food and were asked if we wanted it all served at the same time, which was a very nice touch considering we were a disparate group of families, we sat at different tables in the beer garden and then the food arrived after a short while. This is one of the few places that I can say I have had food envy about everybody's meal that came out! The burger was very understated on the menu, it was a beautiful home made burger served in brioche with all of the trimmings, but every other meal that came out I would quite happily have had instead, from the humble sausage sandwich or cheese and pickle sandwich to the luxurious macaroni cheese and the ploughman's with scotch egg was a thing of beauty all with flavours to match.I didn't know this place existed until a twist of fate sent us there, but I will definitely be going back, every time I travel down the M50.

Ordered Mac Cheese and struggled to get through it all, (included salad and garlic bread) Person on our table order ham egg and chips and had to have a doggie bag for some of the ham and what was great was that the hot food was hot and the cold was cold dispite the numbers they had to cope with; we were in addition to those eating in the bar area. Unpretentious, characterful pub with three separate bars, set in a quiet Herefordshire village. There's a great selection of ales here, including some from small local breweries, such as the excellent Ludlow Gold. Food is of the straightforward pub grub variety, well prepared and competitively priced, but don't expect to find anything too ambitious on the menu. All the usual pub classics are there: fish & chips, burgers, pie of the day, sausage & mash and so on, plus they do steaks and also a range of sandwiches at lunctime. I opted for the sausage & mash (£11.50) which consisted of three good quality sausages accompanied by decent mash and a generous portion of fresh vegetables, The staff are exceptionally friendly but, it has to be said, the service is quite slow, so probably best not to come here if you are in a hurry. There is also occasional music featured here.

Lovely warm, cosy pub with a really nice vibe. Good range of real ales, and the landlord happily offered tasters which is always appreciated by the discerning drinker. We were staying in the local area for the weekend and went to this pub for dinner on the Saturday evening. It wasn't quite what we were expecting. We thought we would be going to a restaurant but it turned out to be a very small village pub. It was lovely though. The food was really nice and I would recommend the lemon sole. The pub had a lovely atmosphere and seemed really friendly. We went back the next night for the pub quiz and had a brilliant evening. We were invited to join up with a local couple to make a team and they were very friendly.

Enjoyed another lovely meal at the alma last night. The food was excellent as ever, as was the service. However the atmosphere was a little frosty, I find it uncomfortable, as did the rest of the table, that the manager would talk down in such a way to a member of his team. Hopefully this was just a one off.

We were recommended this by the Wobage Pottery. We were very hungry as we were a bit late for lunch. The room we went into was the smaller one with lovely hand blocked wallpaper. And the table we sat at was round and old. We were given crackers and put on our paper hats, as had the others already already around other tables. We did have to wait a bit but luckily we had the time and the wait was worth it. My sausages and mash were delicious, with enough rich gravy and shared red cabbage and carrots. All of us were very pleased with our choice and only wish we had room for pudding which also looked good. We look forward to our next visit.

It's a nice place ..basic country pub interior...all of the staff were very welcoming and friendly we went for evening dinner...the food was very good...hot..absolutely no complaints on quality or quantity...with the quality comes a higher than average bill..but if that quality remains it's certainly worth the money....well done Alma people we enjoyed our evening

A real gem of a pub. Friendly staff, great bear and top quality fresh home made food. The pub has managed to keep all of its all original charm while now managing to produce outstanding food. We will be back!

The Alma is our local pub and only recently started doing food. I have been very impressed with both the standard, great taste and variety of the food on offer. We have eaten there on several occasions and have enjoyed fabulous food, company and service every time. I would definitely recommend it to any local residents or visitors to the area.

Popped in to meet with a friend. I decided on breakfast and had poached eggs on toast with smashed avocado and bacon. It was superb. Good coffee too.

We've just finished an amazing salmon and avacado salad, Caesar salad and fully loaded fries. All freshly cooked and tasted superb. Great place to grab a proper bite to eat.
