Popped in a couple of times for drinks. Friendly staff and locals, nice comfortable atmosphere. We also purchase a take away pizza. It was delicious with plenty for two and leftovers. Pleasant to sit with a beer whilst waiting for our pizza.

Have been visiting the cross inn for a few years now , (so about time for a review 😊) if we eat here or just pop in for a drink the welcome and service has always been excellent , food is top notch and they have a good selection of beers and wines. Lovely cosy atmosphere and dog friendly, highly recommended 👌

Friendly village pub with excellent food

Very convenient location to the caravan park. We went to the Saturday night supper and it was delicious - will definitely come again.

The best steak I've had in a long time. Great ambience, helpful bar staff, great selection of ales. Booking definitely advised as comprehensive menu is cooked to order. Dog friendly too which we really appreciate

We were greeted with a warm welcome from Mark and the pub had a lovely atmosphere with a few locals tucked into the cosy bar. We both had a starter - the ham hock and crab ravioli and chose the steak for our main course. The food was exceptional and the steak, cooked over a charcoal grill was just sublime - succulent, juicy and full of flavour. Eve the chef, Mark’s wife, runs a tight kitchen cooking everything from scratch and offers a nice varied menu. Our room was nice and spacious and the bed extremely comfortable. The location for this family run pub in Eardisland is quintessentially English and well worth the visit.

Another amazing Saturday night supper. Crab ravioli with lobster bisque. Bread with crab butter. Double chocolate mousse for dessert. Really delicious.

Booked for the pizza evening, great friendly welcome, good beer, Butty Bach and Landlord. Pizzas were good but not outstanding, better cheese and Tom sauce would have improved them but I’m being picky as they were good value. Overall a good pub 9/10. They have accommodation so i would return and explore area more.

Took a couple of tries to get a table booked as they were fully booked on my first two attempts (always a good sign) but the wait was well worth it. The food is excellent and I would highly recommend this pub for a visit. Dog friendly in the bar which doesn't impact on the ambiance at all. Parking and access are easy.

Great food in a friendly local pub.

We enjoyed an early evening meal here whilst on holiday and have to say the food was exceptional. We had the fish and chips, delicious, with the best batter we have ever had and the chicken with dauphinoise, absolutely top notch and very reasonably priced. This folks is how it should be done and we're not suprised its always busy. Thoroughly recommend but book early.

Exceptionally good meal. Steak was perfect peppercorn sauce delicious , could not fault it.

Where can I start ....my wife and I came to Earsiland in our motorhome for a few days we had some great walks had lovely coffee and cake in Rita's tea room but our best place was meeting everyone in the Cross Inn the staff and the local guys were great with us and made us feel so welcome we loved it on the night before we had to leave to go back home 02/05/24 we had booked a table upstairs for a 3 course meal ,my god the food was an experience on its own I had pate starter my wife had the melted cheese thingy 😀 , for mains my wife had the duck I had the tomahawk steak ....... oh my god I've never tasted a steak like that in my life it was perfect and the accompliments that went with it the garlic mushrooms the peppercorn sauce the 3 times cooked chunky chips the homemade onion rings WOW WOW WOW , by that time I'd already forgot what my wife was eating and I didn't care it was me and this beautiful steak,the desert was Gorg too espresso panachocta, stunning , All in all a great few days the area is stunning we honestly didn't want to leave so much so we booked a room in the Coss Inn to come back for a few days on the motorbike ,so to all the lovely polite staff and lovely people of this stunning little village, THANKYOU it was a privilege for us, Nicola & Scott The scousers xxx

Gorgeous meal. We experienced our first Supper club, we were very late, rang to check still OK for us to visit and we were warmly reassured. Very kind. Seafood was delicious and the knock pud is still talked about weeks later. Can't wait to go again.

With out doubt, the best steak i have had,I have had kobi steak etc,went for a rump here,with pepper sauce, was simply THE BEST..thankyou,black and blue,,,perfection.

An exceptional family run business offering a comprehensive menu and well stocked bar and cellar. Despite being a wet Thursday evening in March, the pub had a wonderfully warm atmosphere with groups chatting at the bar and around the welcoming log burning stove. Excellent service from the lady on duty; she calmly and professionally looked after each and every customer with good product knowledge and attention to detail. Whilst we ate from the menu, on Saturday evenings they offer a supper club whereby everyone has the same dish and is allowed to bring their own wine for a very reasonable £5 per bottle corkage fee. The food was faultless our only disappointment was that this great pub is so far from where we live. If we visited the area again we wouldn't hesitate to return. Thank you.

Fabulous supper at The Cross, the daube of beef was delicious and the lemon posset the best I have ever had. There are many wonderful eves, Christmas Eve being one but there is another at The Cross! Thank you Mark and Eve for another lovely evening.

Another fantastic meal at the Cross Inn Saturday evening supper. Daube of beef with parmesan dumplings. Absolutely delicious. The desserts are also unusual and amazing. Been here several times now since moving to the area and love it. A great pub, wonderful hosts and the best food around.

This is a great pub with great food. Staff are delightfully friendly and helpful. BUT, don't you dare sit in a local's seat!! You will know if you do!! Do NOT sit at the end of the bar !!! Sadly a few vaping locals will give you the deathly " you are not welcome" look. That detracts from the charm of the place, sadly.,but staff make up for it all. Xxx xxx

Lovely warm welcome at the pub, well frequented by drinkers and diners. Our booking was very last minute over the telephone. Our fish and chips were excellent with crispy light batter and succulent fish, plenty of fries, mushy peas, tartar sauce and a portion of scraps - extra batter! Range of beers (6/7 including real ales and local cider- yes! Spirits, included a wide selection of whiskys and gins plus non alcoholic options, broad enough to cater for most options!

Probably the best village pub in England. The ambience, the choice of ale and spirits and dining is truly outstanding.

Just back from a wonderful week in Eardisland and where we spent every evening in the Cross Inn for food or just drinks, Mark is an extremely hospitable and friendly Landlord and cannot do enough for you, the Food is excellent and of a very good quality, always advisable to book as it gets busy there, a good choice of starters and mains and great desserts too, the lemon posset is to die for, Eve his wife is a great chef and takes pride in presentation of the food too, we have been going there every visit for the last two years and always enjoy ourselves and the locals too, Brooke their daughter will give you a warm welcome as will the rest of the team....see you soon..😁...Mike & Rach...😁

I had fish and chips - the best chips I have ever had - and my son had pork. Both dishes were excellent. In fact my son liked the look of my fish so much we had to come the next day so he could have it too. I had a starter - potted shrimps on toast with garnishes - also excellent. We ate outside, a miracle this summer. The service was friendly and helpful. I shall be returning. To crown it all they save Butty Bach, my favourite bitter.

Popped in for a pint after a long drive, touring the black and white houses villages. Lovely local, with polite service. Sat in garden catching the afternoon sun.

Had an excellent meal, for my wife’s birthday. Starter, steak main and sweet, we shared starter and sweet, not intentionally, I ordered and and gave my wife tasters, she doesn’t eat three courses. The staff were very friendly and helpful, we didn’t have to wait long for drinks even though they were busy. Didn’t see or hear of any complaints while we were there. They have a decent wine list, and olenty of choice for wine by the glass. Overall a lovely experience, not the first time we have eaten here.

We had a lovely Anniversary dinner here. With good friends and a great atmosphere, we had a lovely evening.

Called in for an evening drink and asked if we could have a table for food. No problem, good service and the slow cooked belly pork was excellent. Really enjoyed our meal. Place to go when staying at Arrowbank.

Had fabulous lunchtime meal on New Year’s Eve. Service was friendly and attentive; nice upstairs dining room. Very good starters and delicious steaks, cooked to perfection. Excellent Malbec too which was certainly a cut above your average pub wine.

Wow, an amazing local village pub. Have stayed in the village since Xmas Eve and been welcomed in The Cross like a member of the family. Mark, Eve and Brook our fantastic hosts, and the clientele of The Cross were superb. The food was amazing, so tasty. Beware very large portions.! 5 * even 6 ☆ wouldn't do it justice.

For a little pub in a little village 6*'s are needed... Heavens above you have to try this place, we were in the camp site 8 minutes away, we all strolled to the village after eating in the motorhome that evening, had a couple of drinks and made a booking for the next evening... The T-bone 16oz was the tastiest I have eaten outside the USA, the blue cheese sause wasn't used on the steak as it was such a tasty steak, it wasn't wasted I dipped my triple cooked chips in it, proper home made real chips, crunchy on the outside fluffy inside, everything was such high quality, I finished my plate... I was Stuffed to the gunnals, I just couldn't fit a dessert in... 😢.. there was homemade treacle pudding my pal had one and I managed a taste.... It was sublime.... Another visit is on the cards..

Fantastic food and atmosphere. Be prepared to wait a while, but the food is fresh and delicious, with huge portions!! Go there hungry so that you can squeeze in a pud (we couldn't 😟).

Lovely little find. Stopped off today for lunch. Had a lovely warm welcome and they allowed dogs too. We had called into the pub a few yards away a minute before and actually walked out as the landlord grunted at me when I asked if dogs were allowed in. Not wanting to give him any of our hard earned cash we went to the Cross Inn. We sat in the sun and was so impressed we ordered lunch. As there was a little bit of delay we had a round of drinks brought to the table as a good will gesture which was not expected at all. The food was absolutely delicious. Can highly recommend the fish and chips and my husband, who is difficult to please, had the chilli chicken starter which was a complete hit. Will definitely be back. Thank you.

Four of us visited Friday for tea,we had fish and chips,scampi and chips,beef burger and ribs all dishes excellent we are going back Sunday.

Fantastic place! The food is always bang on, way better than your average “pub grub” the beer is always very good, and it always has a lovely atmosphere with great locals and even better staff, they are really attentive and look after you and make you feel very welcome, highly recommend! 5/5

Lovely place for food and drinks

Went in from the local camp grounds. Small place, very lovely staff. The food was wonderful and we were able to bring in the two dogs we had with us inside to eat. It's a 5-10 minute walk from the local camp grounds which is great if you do not wish to drive and have a drink. There is also outside seating and they offer mantles should it be too cold.

Excellent selection of beverages. Local cider was very good. Ludlow gin also good. Terrific Merlot. Pate and Brie were very good starters. Sirloin steak was juicy, tender and brilliantly cooked. Tables well distanced.

All the staff were super friendly and whilst I didn't capture her name, the lady who was in charge of the bar was brilliant! She was so warm and engaging and made us laugh and was brilliant with our boys!We were made to feel very welcome and if we could would have returned but we visited here on the last night of our trip which was a shame as we had such a good time.The menu choice was simple and something for everyone. Food was delicious - hot, tasty and quick service.Would totally recommend this pub!

We recently visited Eardisland for the day as part of a weekend trip and loved the place! Originally we tried to book another nearby pub for a family meal but we received a rather unfriendly response when attempting to reserve a table.However, we then approached the staff at The Cross Inn and instantly knew that we were more than welcome to dine outside due to the current restrictions.The pub was beautiful from what we could see when walking through to the outdoor area, nothing was too much trouble for the friendly staff and the food and drink were absolutely amazing! The outdoor seating area was comfortable with soft rugs on benches, gazebos for shelter and great music playing in the background to provide an all round fantastic atmosphere.We’ll definitely dine here again when visiting in the future.Many thanks for your hospitality.
