Very nice cafe in the middle of picturesque village of Abbotsbury. Steve is brilliant with his friendliness and wit. Very popular with his locals too. The food is always freshly made.My friends and I like to go there as often as we can. Steve is an asset to the village.

Lovely cafe in the centre of the village. We had a delicious cake and cup of tea. Very friendly. Will go back.

Called in here as the other tea rooms we wanted to go to was full. I sooooo glad the other one was full. This is a great place. We had just done a long walk and were in need of cake, we were not disappointed, Dorset Apple cake, chocolate cake and millionaires shortbread, very yummy. The owner is really friendly and informative of the local area and lots of other matters too, could have stayed there all day chatting to him. Brilliant value too. We will definitely be back.

My mum, sister and I had a lovely lunch of bacon and Brie sandwiches today. Followed by 3 different cakes, which we took away. Good selection of pies and pasties too. Stephen the owner was very hospitable and chatted away to us. We felt very welcome. We will definitely be paying Bellenies Bakehouse another visit soon.

The friendly owner there does everything he can to make sure your stay in Dorset is enjoyable. We visited as part of a 4 day walking trip to Dorset.

We stopped here for a late lunch, and were given a very friendly greeting by the owner, who quickly prepared some hot food for us, followed by two slices of Dorset apple cake - delicious! This is a quiet little café and bakery, in the centre of Abbotsbury, full of character and small delights. The owner is a very interesting man, full of good anecdotes. A very pleasant visit.

Warmly welcomed by the owner who served us very quickly. Enjoyed a lovely coffee and lemon cake, which was delicious. We saw baguettes served which also looked very appetising! The owner was very chatty and enjoyed listening to where his customers were from etc. A very nice personal service and overall a lovely cafe.

Small seating area inside and also offers a takeaway service. Offers basic snacks, pasties, sausage rolls, sandwiches etc as well as a range of drinks. Chap who runs it very friendly and does like to chat which may put some people off when trying to eat.

Wonderfully friendly, helpful staff and the best dairy free, gluten free and refined sugar free flapjack we've ever had. It made my son's day as he usually can't have any tasty treats when we pop into places like this.

The nicest, friendliest, yummiest cafe in Dorset - bar none. Lots of delicious home-made food, incl. Homity pies and spicey Jack fruit vegan pasties and . . . wonderful coffee. Open all-year round. Too good to miss.

Excellent Sandwich in a cracking little cafe We stopped yesterday in the rain for a quick snack atered for. I had a fabulous blue cheese sandwich which was superb. The owner is amusing and very interesting. Great selection of really nice coffee too. Will be calling again for sure

This lovely cafe is very handy for the bus stop in the village. Once I saw the cakes in the window, I couldn’t walk past, despite having had breakfast. My chocolate cake was delicious & coffee to accompany it was nice too. Proprietor was helpful & friendly. Directions to the coastal path were much appreciated. The other customers were locals which is always a good sign. Highly recommended.

Quick bite to eat before going to parents for dinner. All fresh made sandwiches and wraps. Even had nice boxes for our sandwiches and made little triangles for our girls to eat. Not been for a while before today but will be going back soon for sure. Feels like nothing is too much trouble here.

Stopped here for a coffee. The cafe was rather small, and very quiet with just the 2 of us in! Could have done with a bit of background music, almost felt like we were in someones house. But the owner was friendly and helpful about the area. Didn't eat but cakes looked nice and the menu looked good and reasonably priced. If we went back to that area I'd use the takeaway option for baguettes.

My mum and I visited this lovely cafe quite by chance. The owner Steve was a wonderful man who was very friendly. The coffee was astounding and the toast and marmalade a close contender for the same title. The atmosphere is the most important part of a place and this was a real winner. Thank you!

Yesterday, after a long day of walking, four of us headed to the Bakehouse for a tea and cake opportunity. We were made very welcome by the owners who were interested in our journey, us, where we had come from and general things. The tea was lovely and the cakes as well. They deserve to have a good rating. Well Done.

WHEN you are having a really bad afternoon and need a treat -- or even to crown a great afternoon -- then look no further than Bellenie's Bakehouse Tea-room.I wasn't in the best mood when we walked in courtesy of driving 50+ miles to find a place I wanted to visit was shut, but a cup of tea at Bellenie's to wash down a monster slice of delicious chocolate cake and I began to feel a whole lot better.This little tea room on the main street is clean, well-kept, has comfortable seating and a great array of cakes, snacks and other food.It also has a very friendly welcome, good local knowledge and some great prices because our order of two pots of tea and a slice of cake came to just £7.Did I mention the atmosphere? It just sort of creeps up and relaxes you and the cares of the day drop away, not something you see on the menu but very welcome nonetheless.Add to that the site is in the heart of the village, close to everything from an ancient church to antique shops and a visit here to recharge your batteries has a lot going for it.We'd recommend anyone in the area to drop in and Give Bellenie's a try. It won't disappoint.

When in Dorset/ Abbotsbury we always visit this place, great coffees and cakes and reasonably priced.Steve the owner a wealth of local knowledge and helpful. Well recommended.

Visited tea rooms a lunch time. Several customer being served so appears to be popular. We found a table and ordered tea, soup, and toasted sandwich ,all served perfectly, nice and hot good portion size with food. Owner asked if we were on holiday, we said staying with relatives in the area for a few days . Was good to get into a nice warm cafe. P S Excellent value.

Popped in to try and get something to go in a sandwich. They very kindly directed me to the village shop. Bought a take away coffee: excellent quality so I sent the rest of our group in.

Went here today Sunday 19th August 2018...food was lovely we had the toasted sandwich, bri red onion & cranberry and baguette, the latter was perfect, there were a good selection off cakes, my son had the chocolate cake to take away, he loved it. The owner is very friendly to his customers, we will DEFFINATLY be coming back, I can highly recommend this lovely place to eat & drink. Great prices too. You won't be disappointed!

Everytime we ars In Abbotsbury we alway come here, great tea, cakes, coffees,if you want to know anything in the area ask Steve the owner, always got time for you, price es are very good and cooked either local or on premises, would recommend.

I dropped in here when passing through this delightful village to pick up a simple cheese baguette for my lunch. This was made freshly for me by a cheerful guy and it only cost £2. It was just what I needed on a hard day’s walking.

This is a little gem. Neat and tidy, friendly service and the best, yes the best Dorset Apple cake in, well Dorset. If you don’t fancy that then all the cakes are freshly baked.

This is a lovely cafe/bakers shop and well worth a visit. I had a lovely pot of tea and a slice of Dorset Cake (homemade) there was also a lovely looking carrot cake. The people around me had homemade soup which they said was excellent, and another couple had sausage and bacon bagues which smelt wonderful. The owner was lovely and friendly and the conversations included all the customers. It was a very welcoming establishment with wonderful food. Also I understand that on the first Friday of every month there is a Tapas night but you have to book in advance as it is very popular.

Not much else to say other than this is the perfect place for a village with great selection of food with nothing too much of an effort on request. The owner is very friendly and the presentation is excellent and quantities! So much better than an average coffee house..

With a good selection of fillings for baguettes, good beef or sausage pasties and a great selection of cakes made for a very tasty lunch with a good ambience.

I went there for a breakfast with my older daughter and we really liked the place. It had a very cozy atmosphere. We loved the chocolate cakes. The owner was very friendly. We had a very interesting conversation. I really recommend this place in all aspects.

During our visit to Abbotsbury we were looking for somewhere for lunch and looked to TripAdvisor for recommendations. The top 2 on the list were actually closed on the Monday we visited so we had a wander and found The Bellenie's Bakehouse.

Nice cakes,very friendly host. The window is north-facing so the owner cleverly displays all of his cakes in the window, a definite advantage!

We get cake (which a slice is more than ample to share!) and a coffee. Newly refitted in the last few months with a rustic feel to the decor. Very friendly service and we return year after year when visiting Abbotsbury!! The coffee is excellent too!

we have visited Bellenies a few times now - and is our choice whilst we are in the area, so we pop in for a coffee/Tea and cake, huge portion of cake. Owner is extremely friendly and chatty and remembers your face. Nice and clean too. You wont be disappointed.

We dropped in here for a coffee. And ended up with a good laugh. The owner was a joke a minute. I have no idea what the food is like, but recommended for the hospitality. Coffee and tea good too!

We always go here when we are in the area. Sometimes we have lunch or later in the day coffee and a teacake. The food is always good and reasonably priced and the owner friendly and welcoming. He is also very helpful to visitors to the area, advising on places of interest to visit. Thoroughly recommended.

Dropped by for coffee and cake after walking past the previous day when it was closed. Decided to go back the next morning and didn't regret it. Had a latte and the nicest coffee & walnut cake I've ever eaten. Also took some cinnamon shortbread for the road. Cannot wait to visit again. I will be stopping here for sure. We stopped here to share a quick piece of cake. We were given a very generous portion of delicious Dorset Apple cake, would highly recommend.

Seems expensive considering its just a baguette with bacon and brie. Bacon was cooked then microwaved..... to give it that chewy tasteless flavor; the fat was still on the bacon (everyone has their on taste) but the fat was under cooked and chewy as anything. What looks like stale old cakes in the window. Grubby little table and chairs that belong on a patio and the Un friendly man which seems top it off. Comes across a Mr know it all who wants to know everything about the costumers......

We stopped off for a coffee and cake and had a lovely chat with the guy behind the counter. My daughter was unable to eat the enormous slice of cake in one sitting and he kindly bagged it up for her to eat later on. The cakes were fresh and the coffee was good.

I try and stop here a couple of times a year, the cakes are excellent, coffee great and price reasonable. It will be crowded 'in the season' but out it is a pleasant place to sit and enjoy the food.

after visiting swannery, gardens and farm popped in for lunch for two. Lots of choice fresh cakes,baggettes and pastries. Also good selection of cold and hot drinks.

Great cakes for a reasonable price. Decor is more cafe than twee tea room. The friendly owner can be a bit overwhelming if you're expecting a quiet break.

We thought we'd have a change from a picnic as it was winter and ended our walk at this bakery. Very freindly, welcoming and chatty proprietor. Good baguettes, great cakes and good coffee. Nice little gallery attached. Definitely wirth a stop.

We stopped off in here for a light lunch on Monday 1/2/16 and had a pleasant lunch ... a traditional Pasty (decent!) and Leak and Potato soup / Bread, both good. The owner originates from Essex and has set up his own charity to help Dyslexia. He is a chatty and pleasant man. Nice village, good café!

I noticed on the Coeliac UK website that this bakery/tearoom offers gluten-free food in addition to the normal range of baked goods. So, whilst in Abbotsbury I popped in and, after speaking to the very knowledgeable owner, bought a couple of GF cakes - and delicious they are too! Recommended.

Dropped in on Sunday afternoon for a light snack, encountered a couple of locals, a visitor or two and some Germans getting freshly made sandwiches for a carry out. Good service and food, an entertaining and interesting owner who made you welcome. Expected to be there for ten minutes, but eventually left an hour later.

Stopped off at Bellenies, what a fantastic little tea shop. A really lovely friendly guy who runs it very generous sized and delicious cakes to be had. Prices very good and you will be offered more hot water/top up. We tried dorset apple cake, massive slice which the guy warmed up and accompanied with a very generous amount of clotted cream absolutely wonderful. We have tried several tea shops but feel this can't be beaten.

Popped in for a quick snack and left with some real treats. The chap who served had a cracking sense of humour and was a nice guy. He helped us pick out some delicious pasties and a massive slice of cake each. If you're ever passing through definitely stop and grab something!

We stopped to buy some pasties and stayed for soup and bread. Great soup and friendly proprietor who shared some history of the local area. Took home several pasties and they were also very good.
