The Bell Inn in Thanet

Food was first class can highly recommend . Service leaves a lot to be desired though . No inter action with the waitresses , they need to learn to smile . Both walked past our table when we had finished starters without taking the plates . Curt response when we asked for cutlery .

What a gem we have found !! The most welcoming staff and service was excellent! The dogs received bone treats which was great. The food was delicious and very tasty. We will be back again.

I attended this restaurant with my mum and son, this was my first experience at this establishment and it didn’t disappoint. Not only was the food amazing, the staff were extremely friendly, especially the owner of the establishment. I live quite a distance from The Bell Inn and I am telling you now, the drive was worth it. I can’t express enough just how good the food was, the three of us all ordered different meals from the special board, from Chicken, Lamb and Rabbit. We can all say we were spoilt for choice. When I return to the area again, I will be making a reservation.

The food was very nice and the staff very friendly but there is only one female toilet and no disabled which was very challenging, a grab rail by the toilet would have made all the difference unfortunately I won’t be able to visit again

Recommended to us by a local as a place to avoid the holiday crowds. We were not disappointed. Very varied menu but we avoided the starters because I wanted pudding and I'm already a fat boy. I picked one of the specials, salmon with mussels in garlic with a cream sauce. Potatoes, carrots and broccoli cooked well. I am personally not a fan of half cooked veg so these were just fine. My partner opted for a sausage baguette with coleslaw and cheesy chips which she thoroughly enjoyed. She would have preferred the cheese grilled rather than microwaved as that would perhaps have kept them more crispy but so what. Of course, once she saw another diner getting the liver on a pile of mash the green eyed monster reared it's ugly head. Anyway that's an excuse for another visit. The third member of our group opted for the cheeseburger and chips. She should have ordered it naked as she had to leave the bun as it was all a bit too much. Anyway three good mains. I opted for the pud which was apple and sultana crumble with custard. On seeing my partner's eyes light up, the waiter offered an extra spoon so she found out how delicious it was too. All I can say is keep your hands off my bhuna. We sampled two of the bitters and a Guinness which were good but I feel the waiter may need another spell at Guinness pouring school as both pints ordered were definitely short of a mouthful or two. Anyway, we have the location set in the satnav now so we will surely return.
