Such a lovely welcome today from Nat who was very attentive and friendly throughout our meal ordering and service experience. Our Party of four was also made very welcome by the female staff member behind the bar. The food was nicely prepared and of good quality. It is so nice to find a good chef who knows how to prepare and present enjoyable "hot" food The pub's decor is extremely pleasant and clean, the toilets were excellent. I would definitely recommend The Bell if you like a bit of quality and a good atmosphere.

Really friendly on the phone and a table was set and waiting for us when we arrived. All the staff were really friendly and the food was excellent with great choice on the menu. We will be back

I love the Sunday roasts here - the portion sizes are good, the quality of food is excellent and they do the best gravy. It was a busy Sunday when we ate but service was friendly and efficient and our lovely waitress Holly went out of her way to make sure we had everything we needed.

One of the best Sunday roast I’ve ever eaten out! From starter to dessert everything was delicious& full of flavour! The roast beef was so tender and cooked to perfection! Couldn’t thank the staff enough for being so hospitable… if you’re ever in the area, this is one to check out!

I was visiting from the US and came across the Bell Inn. It was so good I ended up coming back 2 more times during my week long visit to the UK. I had a pie, the Sunday Roast and the steak and all were very delicious. 10/10 recommend. The cocktails were fantastic, too! Try the espresso martini!

We’ve just spent a great evening at The Bell, Ladbroke, with friends. We were greeted by the lovely Jasmine who then became our server for the evening. She was attentive throughout and was a delight. The food was fantastic - both mains and desserts - and there was a lovely atmosphere. We will definitely be returning and would not hesitate in recommending.

After reading such great reviews I booked a table online for my dad and I asked for a well lit table as my dad is partially sighted and uses a wheelchair. After receiving a very unfriendly, unsmiling welcome we were led to a table that though had a space for a wheelchair was further in the restaurant which had to steps to reach and was not very well lit. What continued was surly, slow service followed by below average food which was way overpriced. Our scallops starters were over seasoned, my dad's sirloin steak was tough and tasteless and my salad was way over dressed. It feels like this pub and the snooty unfriendly staff thinks its way better than it is. Avoid.

We went for the first time today following a change of menu. We booked ahead to explain there were vegetarians in the party. Unfortunately we were not catered for from the very limited menu. The choice was basically Risotto, tagliatelle or mac n cheese. I asked about a veggie burger but they no longer do it. I asked about a cheese salad but couldn't be accommodated. The food came. My Risotto was too oily and had too much garlic, that i couldnt finish. The mac n cheese was bland. The sides of fries were OK. We didn't have a sweet on the strength of the main course. The waiting staff were friendly enough but we won't be going back. A shame that standards have fallen, when I eat out I expect my food to taste better than I can cook myself at home, but this was not the case

I’m a local so have supported the pub for over 25 years through thick and thin. Popped in today for a quick one (turned into a long lunch with my youngest). Bonnie, the newly promoted landlady is on top of her game now, attention to detail and general hospitality can’t fault. New menu designed to be more affordable and the fish cakes I had were properly good. Lashings of warm hollandaise, perfectly cooked soft poached eggs, decent chunks of prawn and cod and my son’s scampi coated in panko all excellent.

Wonderful Father’s Day at The Bell. Food was wonderful and the best squid starter and Sunday trio of meats. Although the pub was busy as you would expect the service was so attentive and calm. We had the best family afternoon and will be returning soon. Thanks so much for the perfect Father’s Day X

Went for our granddaughters 9th birthday with her 3yr old brother. Had a great time! Lovely atmosphere, attentive service and good food.

Quick seating to clean well presented table, friendly smart staff, drinks orders taken in perfect time. all well made with fresh ice and good glassware. Menu well put together good offering for Sunday including the home comforts. Roast was the best roast I’ve had out of my own home, 3:15 table booking but the beef was absolutely perfectly rare, juicy pork and extremely well cooked chicken. Portions were really good, we also ordered the extras board - we didn’t need it other than the cauli cheese. Which compared to the usual watery rubbish people serve up, was absolutely outstanding. Great crisp, good base béchamel and a strong cheese flavour. Onnnnly criticism was the roasties although tasty in their own right, very tasty - not crispy or roasted really. Could of done with another 20min but that’s just personally preference we like ours really coloured and crispy. Pork crackling was perfect, condiments were offered quickly and presented on a plate with napkins and spoons. Second drinks orders were taken and check backs after 10min to make sure we were happy, top job. Really couldn’t fault the young staff they were really trying there best to keep everyone looked after. It’s easy to lose focus at this time of the day on a Sunday especially if you’ve been there from early to set up. So well done front of house team and well done kitchen. We will certainly be back.

The atmosphere was excellent and the service spot on, with a smile and attention to detail. The food was excellent, well presented and delicious. I would visit again without hesitation.

My wife and I visited The Bell, mid week last week with four other friends. The waitress was very polite and attentive and food was very nice and of good quality. But we were very disappointed that they called last orders at 9:00 PM and when 9:30 came they came up to us and said that they were now closing the pub! I must admit we did feel like we were being rushed out or the premise, which we all felt it marred the occasion. To be honest I’m not sure if we will return due to this reason.

We are always extremely pleased with the food and service at this pub! The standard of food is excellent and the children’s menu is also a very good standard our grandson loves the food here !!

Visited midweek, not easy to find, v quiet, menu as online plus a specials board including pies, all the food was v tasty, well presented but not v large portions, friendly staff, will revisit.

My two brothers and our partners meet up as a group for birthdays and special occasions. We have been to this restaunt 3 times now and each time the food and the servuce has been excellent. The dinning area is set up to give each table space yet allows an atmosphere that is lively. The food is very well cooked and a diverse menu offers something for everyone. The staff are friendly yet efficient all of which makes for an excellent venue. I would recommend this place to anyone for any occasion.

We haven’t been to The Bell Inn for quite a few years and just had a fantastic meal on a hot Saturday evening. The quality of the food is excellent, great menu choices and generous portion sizes. The staff are really friendly and professional. Highly recommend the Garlic Prawns!. Would recommend any one considering a visit to eat or drink here to definitely try it. We’ll be back for sure.

We had a couple of days on the canal but the canal-side pubs seemed busy and under-staffed, so we chose The Bell in a quiet little village. I'm glad we did. Food and service couldn't have been better. We were able to bring our dog into the bar area and she was given water and an 'amuse bouche'. The human menu was imaginative with good options for my (mostly) vegan wife - though she chose fish & chips. I started with wild mushroom pakora in a light, crispy batter on delicately flavoured mint yogourt - clearly freshly cooked. The sea bream on butter beans, chorizo etc was excellent and I (just) had room for warm apple tart with spiced apple ice cream. Service was friendly and attentive without being overbearing. A perfect summer evening. Thank you.

I booked a table for a Friday lunchtime, but as it turned out this wasn’t necessary. We were greeted by a pleasant waitress and shown to our table. The waitress (Poppy) was a pleasure to deal with and was so friendly but professional. My other half’s chicken salad was apparently absolutely delicious, but my croque madam was brought with white bread not the granary as requested. This was quickly rectified and was tasty. As it was my other half’s birthday, Poppy and a chef brought out a small cake with a candle and sang Happy Birthday - nice touch! We had a lovely couple of hours here and would visit again, if in the area.

This is a nice pub in a pleasant village. They offer a good menu although when we visited on this trip, admittedly it was the evening before a public holiday, but they were down to the last few servings of a number of items on the menu. The taste, quality and presentation of the food is very good. The restaurant has a really nice ambience and its well laid out. Friendly staff.

Excellent Sunday lunch, the only reason for the 4 stars and not 5 was the fact that you had to pay extra for cauliflower cheese and pigs in blankets. Apart from that I couldn't fault it. Fantastic Yorkshire pudding too.

Went for a lunch today, great service and a lovely meal. Had the venison and bream and both were cooked and seasoned perfectly, with great quality ingredients. Quick service too - we had our food within about 10 minutes of ordering, which was most welcome.

I took my parents as a treat for my mums 60th birthday. Booked via email and they came straight back with confirmation. The food was lovely. Portion size was a bit small, but the quality was excellent. Overall a great visit and will visit again on a special occasion.

We attended last night 2 couples. Me and partner have been before but took our friends. The service and food was outstanding. Nothing was to much trouble. The table we were seated at I wasn’t keen on. They moved us so we were more comfortable. Every member of staff were outstanding. Even the owner was out serving and making sure everyone was happy. Our friends said it is the best steak they have ever eaten and we all will certainly be returning again. Thank you for making our evening so nice.

This pub is in a small village just off Banbury / Southam Road. The inside is nicely laid out with formal dinning tables towards the side and rear and a bar at the frontA nice menu for everyone with the food being higher quality than other pubs.We had a stake with Pepper sauce and Sea Bream . Both cooked perfectly. Excellent service and reasonable prices. The starters and puddings options also looked niceGood local beerWorth booking in advance as they can get busy.

Enjoyed a great meal on Saturday night with my son and my brother to celebrate my son's birthday. The food was excellent, so too was the service. Tables all nicely spaced to ensure safe dining, but busy enough for a good atmosphere. Staff were all wearing visors and seemed genuinely pleased we were there. We shared a baked camembert, then had Thai green curry, chicken supreme and sea bass. Perfectly cooked vegetables. Delicious sticky toffee pudding for them and vegan coconut rice pudding for me. Excellent menu with something for everyone, including several vegan options. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend. Best meal I've had in a very long time.

Stayed in the village for two nights and ate (and drank) in The Bell both nights. I love this pub. The food (steak and venison) was top notch and the staff very attentive. Landlord Rob is good company as well. The Bell is an historic inn which has been tastefully modernised. Already looking forward to my next visit.

Went there yesterday for a pint. We were told we could not sit at the back of the pub where there were parasols over the tables because they were for people who were eating, fair enough we thought so went to move round to the front of the pub, plenty of tables, no parasols and no shade in the hottest part of the day. I explained that my husband is a cancer patient so under no circumstances can he sit in the sun . The lovely barmaid did her very best to look after us but after being told she could not move a table into the shade we ended up sitting on the grass under a tree, not an easy move when I have multiple sclerosis. The pint of Hooky was fabulous and the barmaid exceptional pity management were not understanding at all.

Saturday evening meal out, restaurant was moderately busy. All COVID precautions in place, one-way system, sanitiser, staff wearing PPE, no items on tables and disposable menu's made us feel safe. Staff were welcoming and service was attentive despite only 2 staff for a fairly busy evening. Food was very good, well above average for typical pub food. We had mushroom soup and salmon fishcakes to start, soup seasoned well, tasty.. fishcakes clearly freshly fried, nice crunch, fresh salmon. For main we had duck with dauphinois potatoes and fish and chips.. duck was a good sized portion, well cooked, tender, dauphinois perfectly cooked. Chips were fairly good, not my favourite style but freshly fried, decent crunch, fish was very good, batter was thin and crispy, condiments tartare sauce and pea and mint puree were very good. Also had onion rings which were really nice, Perfect thin batter layer, light and crispy.. not like the soggy, heavy, wet onion rings you get in some places! .. Best part was the desert, we both had Sticky toffee pudding, with a caramel sauce and vanilla ice cream.. was incredible. Seeing other dishes come out of the kitchen, all looked great and well presented, will definitely return to try the rest of the menu. We had a thoroughly enjoyable first meal out post lockdown. Also; although we didn't try any of the dishes, there was a good selection of Vegan and GF options available.

This was our first meal out after lockdown so a pretty exciting night out! Before booking I phoned to enquire as to what precautions were in place and was very happy with the answers. We chose a Wednesday evening so it would be less busy and indeed, there was was only one other table occupied in a different section of the room. But the staff were relaxed and friendly and it didn't feel strange. Apparently they are full at weekends and pretty busy at lunchtimes too. The menu was very slightly smaller than previously but with a really interesting selection of dishes, I could have ordered almost anything. The food was as good, if not better, than before. I had smoked salmon and asparagus fishcakes to start, my husband had a mushroom and goats cheese tartlet. I then had bream with a crab mash and roast fennel, husband had fillet steak with a whisky cream sauce. We even went mad and had the lightest sticky toffee pudding ever. Don't hesitate to go - you'll feel safe and have a lovely meal. Probably our favourite restaurant in the locality.

We visited today for Sunday lunch with our family and grandparents. We hadn’t seen each other since lockdown began and this pub was the perfect setting for our reunion! We were welcomed at the entrance with hand gel and staff all wearing PPE visors, and a one way in and out system in place. Our table was ready for us and we were quickly served with drinks and menus (which were disposable after use). I definitely recommend a glass of the Pimms full of fruit! Delicious. Our food was also delicious, 5 out of 6 of us ordering the roast beef. My husband said it was the best pub meal he has had in a long time. I ordered the fish and chips which was also lovely. Particularly the pea and mint purée accompaniment. Puddings again were spot on. We had two children with us, 5 and 2 years old. The kids menu was the usual ‘...’ and chips but they both enjoyed their food. I should add there is the option to choose the Sunday roast in a child portion. Very good value for money. Atmosphere was relaxing and comfortable. Staff were friendly and attentive. We will certainly return. Thank you to all at The Bell Inn.

We have visited The Bell on numerous occasions and are rarely disappointed. The menu is frequently changed and finding a testing dish is not a problem. Service is good and staff are friendly and efficient. Prices are reasonable.

The fact that I feel compelled to write this review confirms how much we enjoyed our lunchtime meal at The Bell, Ladboke. Meeting up with old friends, we had a warm welcome and were looked after just the right amount and served excellent food. Now on our favourites list!

We were meeting up with my brother and sister in law and needed an easily accessible location.I emailed the establishment to book a table and had a prompt friendly reply.The 4 of us arrived on time and were shown to our table. The restaurant was busy and there were plenty of staff.We ordered our food and drinks. The starters arrived, goats cheese and asparagus tarts and prawns - I added salt to my tart to improve the flavour.Then, as we were a little slow in ordering our wine as we were chatting, the young, inexperienced waitress brought them to us, saying whose is the Pinot and giving that to me, stretching over my other half, rather than taking a few paces to avoid doing just that, and then said who is having the other glass ( which was a Sauvignon)? More training is required there we all felt....The mains were duly delivered two duck, a halibut and a veggie wellington. The one duck was almost raw, even though both had been ordered as medium. This was swiftly dealt with by a member of staff but of course it then meant a delay.To be fair they kindly removed the duck main course from our bill.The staff are friendly and the manager was very considerate.

We tried this resturant on a whim we were not disappointed. From when we booked until we left the whole experience was fantastic . Staff very friendly manager was a brilliant host . We had sunday lunch here this week and it was lovely . My wife and I like trying different places on sunday but this topped the lot . If you have never been here my advise to you is book a table you wont be disappointed. Well done to all the staff and thank you for a wonderful day . We will return soon .

We resisted a good selection of starters and opted for a traditional Roast Beef and Yorkshire pudding with extra gravy. Excellent plentiful meal with the extra gravy as requested. Complements relayed to the Chef.

We have been here before and had a lovely meal. This time - probably because of Christmas- it was busier and as a result not as pleasant an experience. However the staff were attentive and friendly and the atmosphere happy and relaxed. The food was good but we could have done with some more potatoes and veg with the roasts but this is a minor point.Will be back!

We had booked for 19 people for the special Christmas season menu. The team were very welcoming and flexible to accommodate a few late arrivals. The food was pre ordered but was served efficiently and all meals came out at the same time. The food came out hot and we were able to have a relaxed time catching up on family news while food and drink appeared and plates were later cleared away unobtrusively. Excellent service and value for money all round.

Excellent customer service from booking to end, Rob and team couldn't have been more helpful to make this event special for our daughter's 30th. Fifteen of us sat down to a lovely Sunday lunch, all tastes and dietary requirements catered for. I had the roast beef which was perfectly cooked and very tender. The Pannacotta was superb, lovely texture and flavours, topped with a sprinkling of lemon balm. I would highly recommend a visit!

It's lovely to see this place doing well again after some turbulent times over the years. So popular again that we had to park on the road. It's situated in a small and attractive village, the decor is just right and most important of all, the staff are super friendly and efficient. Have to say that I was disappointed that some things on the online menu sample were not on the menu when we ate there, but my husband was pleased by the changes - you can't please everyone! Would definitely recommend.

Excellent rural location which is very popular as it was mid-week and the car park was very full. The food is excellent, top quality at very reasonable prices. Generous portions as well.

Five of us had dinner last night. There is a great ambience in this well-kept and pretty pub. The staff were very friendly and efficient without being obtrusive and the food was excellent. Everything was as ordered, with steaks cooked just as required, it’s well priced and value for money. They also do fixed price Menus on certain days and times so also worth a look. We will certainly be going back.

We are staying in the area for a few months and decided to have every Sunday lunch in a different pub. Went to the Bell and glad we did, service was second to none, staff very friendly and attentive, landlord very chatty and friendly. We both had roast beef (medium rare) followed by sticky toffee pudding we both agreed it was the right amount of food on the plate and cooked to perfection. Goats cheese Beer was good too.

A birthday treat from Mr Dormouse, following our visit earlier in 2019. This time the menu had changed to good seasonal fare...an excellent game terrine and delicious and tender venison. Also eaten with pleasure were a roquefort and mushroom tart (crisp pastry and melting mushroom sauce) and sea bass. Mr D had the panacotta with a fruit coulis and I sampled ....scrumptious!

We have been looking for a local gourmet pub for some time and have finally found one that is up to scratch. Visited today for the first, but certainly not the last, time. The pub is in a lovely village location and the decor and ambience were very pleasant. We received a warm welcome and experienced excellent service. Good choice of a meat, fish or veggie main on the prix fixe menu with two courses at £16:50 or three courses for £20:50. Reasonable sized portions with bread and butter included as an aperitif. Everything we ordered was beautifully presented, piping hot and delicious. Locally sourced beer was excellent. A la carte menu had a varied and well put together menu. Highly recommend this place.

My husband and I enjoyed a dinner of pork belly, roasted squash tart, followed by chocolate pudding and orange panna cotta. The food was a cut above the ordinary- really delicious flavours and beautifully cooked and presented. Lots of options for vegetarians. The staff are extremely efficient, friendly and professional.The restaurant itself is a very pleasant environment, with plenty of room around the tables. There is a nice beer garden and off road parking.My husband said the beer was very good too. At last we have found a really great country pub close to home. We will definitely be back.
