Nice old pub in Avening, parking outside, very relaxing

Indian food provided by a separate service inside the pub. Very nice food. I had the Achari which I would just say seemed to let the chili stand in the way of the Achari taste.

Top Indian restaurant that retains its pub nature. You probably need to book (we arrived Easter weekend), but we managed to swing a table from the accommodating landlord. Great food.

Lovely little local pub with an excellent curry. Beer and wine selection were nothing to write home about, but not a bad selection. Wood burner in the main room adds to the ambience. Dog friendly.

Love this great friendly local in Overton with excellent food from the in-house Indian and always a genuine welcome from hosts Mike and Glynn. On top of that has a wide excelent choice of Ales and. Lagers Wine etc. Highly recommended.

Great pub great food brilliant had a lovely evening

The pub was busy and a roaring fire welcomed us. Staff friendly and helpful, the pub has a thriving Indian restaurant within. Although we didn't have time to dine, we did enjoy a well kept beer and intend to return. Unusual setting for a beer and curry but for a Tuesday night in mid winter proving a popular venue. Left, armed with takeaway menus !

Lovely bar with great staff - thanks for a good afternoon avoiding the rain and drying off after a long bike ride. The curry was also lovely, taking Jay's suggestion of one of the specials and thoroughly enjoying it. Will be back again some day.

We was only in the area overnight and The Bell was recommended to us. The food was absolutely gorgeous. Competitively priced too. Only had time for a single pint and that was OK. Worth a visit if you're in the area

Fantastic ! The Lamb Rogan Josh was amazing full of flavor and very tender. Nice cosy quirky county pub interior which is a nice contrast to the Indian food. Pricing seemed fair for the quality.

Great pub. The interior is classic Cotswald stone, cosy and a fire with plenty of seating in the bar area and a restaurant area attached serving amazing Indian Restaurant food. Outside are plenty of picnic tables for when the weather is nicer and with occasional horses stopping with their riders grabbing a quick drink. Dog friendly. But best of all is the attentive friendly staff from Landlord to bar and restuarnt staff. Friendly locals too.

Ordered a takeaway for four. Ready on time. Food was delicious and well proportioned. The Dansak I had was delicious as was the Fish Korai and naan breads.

Lovely little pub, v nice vibe and good curry but the main attraction is definitely the real ale. The landlord deserves some sort of award or recognition for keeping it so well. Every pint I've ever had in there is perfectly fresh and clear, like some ambrosial nectar of the gods. This is what beer tastes like in heaven, I'm sure. If you're passing, worth stopping off just to have a taste!

Unpretentious solid pub with great indian food and just really nice staff. We went there because the other pub in the village was fully booked but we think we ended up in the best place really.

Amazing little spot in Avening. One of just a couple options around if you’re without a car but definitely worth a visit. The Curries were some of the best I’ve had and the bar staff as well as the locals were quite friendly. We came to watch the England/Scotland Euro match and they just scooted over to make space for us. Oddly enough one of the cleanest and overall nicest ladies toilets! 🚽

Realmente no sé lo que esperaba ya que no somos de estas partes. . . . . . pero tengo que decir que acabamos de pasar una noche excelente en The Bell Inn. El pub no es el tipo de pub tradicional, pero ciertamente ofrece lo mejor de ambos mundos. . . . . excelente comida india y excelente cerveza real. . . . . ¿Qué más se puede pedir? ! Si está cerca y busca un lugar donde se sirva buena comida, sea acogedor y tenga buena cerveza. . . . este es el lugar para ir.

Un agradable y acogedor pub de pueblo. Disfruté de un sorbo de cerveza con cerveza y un trago de vino tinto. Una buena selección de nueces y crujientes también (aunque les faltaba mi favorito ... mini cheddars). La señora detrás de la barra también fue agradable y amable, ayudó a mi madre a seleccionar las patatas fritas y el vino. El tío Matt también me dijo lo increíbles que son los curry aquí. . Definitivamente necesito volver para probarlos. Aprobado por llama.

Super friendly owner and patrons, well priced and well kept beer. I visited during the pandemic and the place was spotless with hand sanitiser provided everywhere. Highly recommend a visit as there's also an Indian restaurant inside so you can have a pint and a curry at the same time.

Gran pub a un precio razonable con juegos de mesa disponibles. La cerveza estaba bien cuidada y el propietario y el personal eran extremadamente amables. El restaurante indio de la casa te permite tomar un curry y una pinta. El distanciamiento social se aplica muy bien con desinfectante de manos para cada mesa. Recomiendo encarecidamente una visita si estás en la zona.

Can, t rate the place high enough. Excellent owners and staff. Shame the virus hit while I was stopping in Avening and put a stop to all pub life. Havn, t tried the food as only a drinker in a pub. Good ciders on and seems like a varied variety of ales. I am a cider person. Lovely friendly pub as long as you don't get a Cliff from Uetrecht visitation. Only joking Cliff.!!!!

Lovely village setting and the mix of a traditional village drinking hole and curry house is great. Good varied menu at reasonable prices. Service did slightly let the place down which was at times slow and we were left waiting for side plates and cutlery. The food itself was tasty but just seemed like something was missing. Would describe as average. The food came out warm but not piping hot. All in all an enjoyable friendly night.

What a great idea - a curry house in a village pub. Seems weird, right? I was dubious, admittedly- but I’m so glad we made the effort to check it out after it was recommended by a friend. Amazing place! Really nice atmosphere, great food, destined to be a regular now 👍👍👍
