Hassan Balti in Cotswold

The fact Hassans isn’t #1 is incredible. The food and service there was impeccable and nothing too much trouble. If you aren’t close to Moreton then a trip is 100% worth it. Both a fantastic menu and a good selection of drinks, it’s the perfect place for a date night or for a big meal out. Thank you for making our visit so enjoyable, we will be back!

They weren't supposed to be open but they still decided to let us have a decidedly late lunch. The staff were so friendly and made us feel like family, we had a lovely lunch of generously portioned south asian cuisine that fueled us for the rest of our Cotswold outing. We didn't even have space left for dessert. Highly recommend this place for their great service and menu.

Food was amazing now known as a steak house. Burgers are amazing. Though told that the curry’s are super hot they take it seriously.

We are back at home in US after completing the Cotswold Round. We had a party of 10 walking and eating. As luck would have it, my birthday fell on the last day in Morton in Marsh. All had eaten at Hassan before my wife made the decision to go there with all 10. What an incredible feast and party. Food and Service was over the top. The hospitality shown was very memorable as Hassan's son the new proprietor provided a bottle of red and white to make our evening last a little longer. I easily give this establishment 5 stars and would rate it as one of the top 3 restaurants in MnM.

Great place to eat with an extensive menu so you are spoilt for choice. We also found the staff to be very friendly.

Amazing food and great service! I’ve enjoyed every single meal I’ve had here and couldn’t fault them at all. I’ve been staying in Moreton for the past 11 weeks and Hassans has been the best whether I’ve eaten in or had a take out the food has always been amazing.

We had a delicious dinner at Hassan this evening. The garlic chilli chicken, vegetable bhuna & tarka dahl were so tasty. I have to admit that we were a little dubious when we saw so much variety on the menu and a family eating burgers next to us, but the Indian curry we ordered exceeded our expectations. The staff were very friendly, welcoming and attentive. It was also very good value for money.

Bearing in mind how busy Moreton was on this Friday evening we were surprised that we walked in an got a table - perhaps locals knew how bad it could be1 Our waiter was a disaster - we ended up looking around to see if there were hidden cameras like Jeremy Beadle or Candid Camera did. We ordered 3 alcohol free beers, one glass of red wine and one of white - three attempts later we got the drinks whereupon he tipped the red over one of our ladies new dresses and the male's trousers. No real apology or any idea of what to do. The couple had to go back to where we were staying - I had to go with them to go with them to the car park. When I returned the poppadoms had arrived - no plates so we ate them off the serving platter. Long after we had finished the waiter came over with side plates - we asked what they were for - he said the poppadoms and we pointed out we had eaten them 15 minutes earlier! The owner/manager came over and we asked he take over serving us. No real apology for the wine disaster and offer to pay to have the dress and trousers cleaned. After 45 minutes our food had still not arrived. Throughout there were raised voices in the kitchen - the chef came chasing out after the waiter to get a takeaway back - shouting still going on in the restaurant. Then the waiter came out with a trolly of food - followed by more shouting from the kitchen, clattering utensils and the owner/manager having a tug of war with the waiter to take the trolly back. By this time we had had enough with no sign of our main course food - we walked out. Luckily we got in at the Black Bear that night and Saturday we went to The Spice Room on the Saturday - fantastic food and service - go there not here!!!

We had the pleasure of visiting this amazing restaurant. The waiter was incredible with his advice and his efficiency . The food was incredible as well. We will definitely return and far sooner than later. Exceptional in every way and a definite place to visit when in the area . Did I mention the milkshakes ??

Not called Hassan Balti anymore .. under new management and now called Hassan’s Grill and Kitchen. Interesting range of cuisines on the menu, Indian, Mexican and great selection of burgers. It looks odd but they have managed to make it work. I had a burger, my partner had Indian. Both were very good. Service was very good and attentive.

We had walked past Hassan’s recently and picked up the menu which looked eclectic but it seemed there was something for everyone to enjoy. After reading really good reviews online we decided to give it a go and were very pleasantly surprised. The restaurant was bustling when we arrived and there was a constant stream of people collecting takeaways. I really liked the selection available and it seems that this trend of a multi function kitchen providing different cuisines is quite the thing. My husband wanted a curry - great. I fancied something different so chose Chinese noodles. The couple next to us had a burger (wife) and a curry (husband) so everyone was happy. The portions are very generous, we definitely overdid it on the delicious warm poppadums and chutneys followed by a couple of starters to share before our main course. The cleverly written menu made me chuckle, someone obviously has a great sense of humour. The food is really good and the service is efficient and friendly. The restaurant is licensed with a reasonable selection available. Draft Cobra was a real hit, not so often seen now. I wouldn’t say it would be the best place for a romantic date night as the atmosphere is more of a café environment but all very clean and pleasant. We would definitely go back with friends or on our own.

Our family are regular visitors here. We love the wide variety on the menu, relaxed atmosphere and friendly service. Our 9-year-old tried the cookies & cream milkshake, Turkish nachos, halloumi, cheeseburger rolls and squid today. He said, “Nobody could make this any better!”

We had an incredible meal here on Friday. The orders were taken in good time and the food arrived out exactly when we needed it. The Staff were attentive, friendly, and so hard working we were blown away with the effort every one of them put into the evening. My wife had a chicken burger which was large and very tasty. I had a lamb korai. Beautiful obviously freshly cooked from scratch and very fresh ingredients. Well impressed. Nice friendly service too Would recommend

We ordered via their website which is easy and quick.The food was hot when we got home and very good. We had some popudum nice and crispy, the naan could have been hotter but it is difficult without making sweat. We will do it again until we can visit.

Had meals from here before. Thought the takeaway is expensive. Half way through the meal I couldn’t tell you what was found in it especially with the corona virus. Complained and got no satisfaction. Will not be going here again and wouldn’t recommend it to anyone

My wife & I decided we’d like to get a takeaway treat with it being lockdown and all! WOW....we’d heard about Hassan’s adding different bits to their menu. We both had the most ABSOLUTELY AMAZING burgers. I went for the ‘Cartel’ chicken burger and my wife had the New York classic beef burger. Cooked to perfection, boxed beautifully and a warm welcome when I picked up earlier on this evening.Highly recommended and we will be back!

This food is absolutely delicious! Had a takeaway from the ‘new’ Hassans, which I think might have changed its name / be under new ownership. I thought it was quite expensive - dishes have increased in price by quite a few £s from an old menu we ordered from.The naan breads were almost inedible and very doughy - more akin to a pizza base than a naan bread. Staff were friendly and welcoming but I don’t think I’d order again based on tonight’s experience :(

This is such a shame as whenever we’ve visited Moreton-in-Marsh we’d had a great meal from here but we rang this weekend only to find that it has closed down due to the owner retiring !

Ordered a takeaway and home delivery for our last night of our holiday. We ordered a chicken bhuna, tandoori chicken, 2 x pilau rice and a peshwari naan. All delivered within 45mins. Great food and piping hot. Bit disappointed no complimentary poppadoms. Total bill came to £21.50.

Very delicately spiced food with lovely naan and chapati. Tbe Rashmi kebab was delicious! Very welcoming staf and the restaurant was buzzing on a Sunday evening.

A nice experience overall. The location is humble but cosy. The staff were very friendly. The food was excellent, very tasty. We tried a vegetarian balti, but the dansak was better.

The restaurant was very clean and well decorated, the food was excellent especially the Garlic Chilli Chicken, and the staff were very friendly and efficient. I would just add that there are two or three steps at entrance for those who need to know.

Always given a warm and friendly welcome, with all the staff pleased to see you. Service was quick and efficient and the food hot and tasty. Probably the best and most consistent curry house in town.

My husband and I were blown away at how fantastic this place was! Outstanding service & food. The men who took care of us were professional, respectful and friendly. The man who was obviously our “main waiter” (took our order) talked to us about relatives he has living in the states and the trips he has taken there. It was fun talking to him. I am posting a photo of the papadom with the accompanying accoutrements. We both had Kurma dishes and loved them. I also had excellent wine which surprised me. If we are ever able to get back to the area, we will definitely go here again - we loved it!!

Truly one of the best meals I’ve had. The service and attention to detail was wonderfully impressive as well. Wish I wasn’t so far away otherwise I would be returning to this restaurant all the time! Highly highly recommend. We ended up choosing this place over an Italian restaurant and pubs down the street - SO glad we did!

It is worth the walk to the end of the town to visit this gem. We called in early on a Sunday evening and both of us had Biriani. Both excellent with a really tasty vegetable curry. Staff were very friendly, welcoming and attentive. It fully deserves to be supported more. Will definitely go back.

Looked at previous reviews and was concerned about comments on waiting times although food reviews were mostly all good. Booked a table mid week and received a very warm welcome. The food was as good as most others I've visited and the service was good as well with no long waits.

Justo en el corazón de Moreton - in - Marsh es un restaurante sencillo pero acogedor con excelente cocina bangladesí. Mi esposa y yo fuimos tratados con excelentes servicios atentos, ya que cada delicioso plato llegó a nuestra mesa. La ciudad tiene muchos restaurantes más caros, pero cuando terminamos nuestra comida sabíamos que no podríamos haber elegido mejor por su deleite y valor. Altamente recomendado.

Visitamos el Hassan Balti la semana pasada mientras disfrutábamos de un par de días en los Cotswolds.

Estábamos visitando Moreton en la marisma y buscábamos para llevar o para recoger. Al ver las revisiones, llamamos pero decidimos recolectar ya que tenían más tiempo para la entrega. El papadom se frió en aceite viejo, el pollo de arranque Tandoori no se hizo en absoluto en tandoor (horno de barro) sino en la mitad de la cocción; el curry de langostinos es demasiado cocinado y menos langostinos más salsa; Naan era asi y el arroz pulau ok. En general, diría que muy decepcionado. La calidad de la comida por debajo de la norma. No volvería de nuevo o no lo recomendaría a nadie.

I have been to Hassan Balti several times. The food is always delicious and the staff are lovely. They serve great dips with the poppadums, good with a glass of Cobra beer. I especially like the delicate flavours of the Boiled Vegetable Balti.

Not really being familiar with Indian cuisine or knowing what to order, my husband & I had the preset meal for 2 (Papadoms, chutney, onion bhaji, lamb biryani, chicken Kurma & nan). We thoroughly enjoyed our meal & trying foods that were new to us. This combo went well together & was amazingly delicious. We also received excellent service.

Great curry, recommended by the waiter with a casual atmosphere, this is a great little curry house. Staff could be a little more friendly but overall, a good evening out.

first and foremost we had a delivery ,food unfortantly came cold we rang at 8pm on friday and was surprised to find that they dont start delivery until 9pm but thought we are only down the rd so should be first on the list but not the case our food took to 10pm to come and cold but not to worry we warmed it up was nice only major disappointment from our prospective was the naan bread simply was under cooked and defiantly not done in a tandoori oven making it inedible still better than spice room tho

Let’s start at the very beginning. Table for 4 booked for 19:00h. Could see on entering there were no tables free. Wait ‘2 minutes’ please. Table ‘found’ and drinks ordered. Menus handed out. Drinks finished. More booked in diners arrive to find no tables free. ‘Wait 2 minutes’. Takeaways ‘flying out’ the door but no sign of the tap water we ordered three times or any likelihood of our food order being taken. You’ve guessed ‘wait 2 minutes’. Takeaways come back as they were the wrong order. Ordered food arrives. Now I’ve eaten a few Indian meals in my time, but two of our dishes that weren’t meant to be ‘hot’ blew the tops of our heads off. Food was average at best and somewhat pricey. All those ‘wait 2 minutes’ added up as well as the end-to-end experience lasted over 2 hours.

My wife and I ordered a take away, whilst staying on the local Camping and Motorhome site. Went to collect at the advised time 30 mins later. On entering the restaurant, only two people dining, but it was only 18:30Hrs. Waited for five minutes, paid and took our dinner away. My wife said “not much curry smell coming from that bag”, as you would normally expect. Got back to our Motorhome, literally 6-7 mins later, and straight onto prewarmed plates. One of the two main dishes was just ‘missing’, the others tasted ‘OK’ at best, poor is more realistic. The best bit was actually a lamb mince samosa, which was spicy and lovely. Other than lack of flavour and heat/spice levels, was temperature, and the naan just looked like it hadn’t seen the inside of the tandoori. Very disappointing, especially as we wanted to give this one a try, as had previously eaten in the Spice Room, which I can fully recommend, as sublime. I rarely do negative reviews, only reviewing exceptional restaurants, but had to do this just to warn others. Looking at the other recent reviews, they vary greatly, and we might have been unlucky, but we won’t be going back....

We called at this delightful restaurant on our way back from our holiday. The food was very good & authentic, we were made very welcome by the friendly owner we would definitely call again.

We had dinner at Hassan Balti today. The food was delicious. They had a really nice sauce to compliment the starters. We had the lamb shank and lamb dupiaza and both had tasty sauces and was great. Would definately recommend and friendly owners!

Looks very reasonable but everything like naan bread and rice are an extra charge. I had tandoori chicken was ok. Husband had mixed grill, we can't remember what it was. To be fair I'm writing a few weeks after. We were asked if we wanted poppadoms numerous times, don't know what that's all about. I saw some dishes going by that looked really good, maybe we just didn't know what to order. They are quite busy for sit down and take out so must be something. Maybe ask server for recommendation which we did not do...they seem to want to be helpful.

Prawn balti was nice as were the poppadoms - but the butter chicken was rough. First of all, served on the bone, secondly under a think lumpy sauce that was not so good. If you go here, stick to balti, which was great. They tried hard and whilst concerned that we left the chicken dish, didn’t do anything to compensate...

Has great reviews but I found the food to be just average. Kitchen had a very heavy hand with the ghee. Service was wonderful though and it was a very pleasant evening. Some nice wines available by glass or bottle.

Waiter was very helpful in guiding our selection of dishes that had just the right amount of heat (spice) and where an interesting departure from the common curries and vindaloos. Great value too.

My husband and myself never order a curry, we order a Hassan. Very consistent curries and lovely people who run it. I have been eating here for 10 years and I have never ever had a bad experience. I drive 10 miles to moreton and bypass Indian takeaways just to get to this one.

Excellent service, delicious food, a must to visit. On a cold wet Monday night we happened to choose the Hassan Balti for our evening meal. We ere greeted warmly at the door and so started an excellent meal with beautifully cooked food, served quickly and with diligence. We were checked on constantly to make sure everything was to our taste and satisfaction. A warm and friendly chat with mein host and a sneakily extra set of chocolate for me. Will definitely be back in July.
