Booked a table for dinner today, was dissapointed that’s the menu said the roast dinners came with cauliflower cheese, all 3 of our roasts has cauliflower but were missing the cheese sauce, roast potatoes were really hard and not particularly nice, the rest of the meal was ok but we weren’t offered any accompanying sauces for the meats. Wouldn’t order a roast again based on today’s experience, have eaten here before off the main menu and food has always been excellent. Service was good 😊

We eat here around once a week as a family and it’s one of those menus where you can’t decide what to go for because everything sounds so yummy! I’ve tried quite a few things from the menu which have all been delicious and my family members have also really enjoyed their meal choices too. The staff are friendly and accommodating. I’ve had a gastric sleeve so can only eat a small amount of food, but they are happy to box up what I can’t eat and I take it home to eat later or the next day. Of all of the restaurants I’ve eaten at in Rugby, this is 100% the best!

Had been here before for Sunday lunch and decided to come for another meal when in the area. Had booked a table and staff ensured it was suitable for a wheelchair user. Food was excellent. Really like the large selection of vegetarian foods and desserts.

Travelled an hour here to meet with family and was not disappointed! Fantastic choice of options on the Sunday lunch menu (including veggie and vegan which was refreshing to see). Staff were lovely and efficient from the get go, quickly tending to our late arriving family members. The food was delicious, hot and fresh. Good value for money too. Will certainly come back :-)

Last night was the second time here for dinner. Very nice and friendly staff. Lovely food. The mac & cheese is the best one I have had for a while and is huge. Hubby's chimachanga was good as well. Will be back.

First time at the bell.. delicious food..very comfortable and spotlessly clean..staff very friendly......nice place..can't wait to go again..

Food was lovely and was piping hot. Service not so good. I had to ask for a menu and then ask again to order our food. When we finished no one came to check on us or to take our plates away so we moved our plates to an unused table as our plates were sat waiting to be collected for 20 minutes. I then had to again ask the staff for the pudding menu. I think the staff need to make sure that the customers are looked after better then my review would have been 5 star. It wasn't very busy either and they seemed to have plenty of staff on duty.

Came down from Lincolnshire with my brother and his partner for a family party we had lunch at the Bell amazing food .top quality good portions too and piping hot ..cooked to perfection...staff were friendly and helpful ..the nx day we returned on speck ..for breakfast ..we dident realize you had to book .but it wasent a problem table quickly found and they were very busy as they were the day before and once again 5 stars for a wonderfully piping hot cooked breakfast. Well done to all the staff we will definitely return ..........just want another party ........!!

Visited this pub in May and enjoyed the Beer Garden on a hot sunny afternoon. The one thing that stood out was the beer - I had a really good pint. The pub is busy and very family friendly - great menu choice too.

Lovely, upmarket pub in the centre of a beautifu l country village. The food was excellent- I particularly enjoyed my seasonal, locally grown asparagus starter. The waitress was friendly and knowledgeable and everyone we came into contact with w ere very welcoming. I would highly recommend.

Great Sunday roast after a good walk. Dog only allowed in the bar but we could swap our booked restaurant table as one was available in the bar area. Friendly locals and good service.

Absolutely Gorgeous. Easter Sunday Lunch. Everything was spot on, from the staff and their friendliness to the super food and the promptness of service. Lamb with loads of different vegetables which made all the difference to a bog standard meat and two veg.. Couldn’t fault it .Probably never had better.

I have never left a pub review before but feel compelled to because this was by far one of the best meals I have ever had. I have a complex diet and can't eat many things but was still given dishes crafted with a lot of care and creativity - something I rarely get to encounter when eating out. Everything was incredibly delicious. James the manager was generous, helpful and thoughtful and his passion for good, locally sourced food is contagious. Very much looking forward to going to the Bell again.

High standard food, apart from the burger which my wife had, which was not of a quality one might hope for from this sort of place.

I recommend this pub for its location and the friendly staff. The dishes we chose from the menu were not the best. I had a rack of lamb dish with sausage, swede and chicory. I think the Chef team needed to eat this dish - it was not enjoyable at all. It was the most expensive dish on the menu but the flavours were all wrong the lamb was not rendered properly. It was a really shame because it had a great atmosphere and the staff were great. Advise: check the menu before you order / book.

The Sunday lunch food and service in the restaurant was very good but the Bar tables were all in need of wiping/cleaning (at the beginning of service) and the Bar not properly ready for opening of service. It showed a lack of pride and interest in the pub which is sad as with a little more professionalism, a little more attention to their customers it could be such a good pub.

Great food and nice atmosphere. Some of the staff were rude and didn’t seem as though they wanted to be there, others were friendly and welcoming.

Disappointed! The front of house manageress wasn't particularly friendly or welcoming which wasn't a great start. Food was ok nothing special, wouldn't really call it value for money compared to other food outlets in the area. Won't be in a rush to go back

It's been quite a few years since I've been here, when it was really good. Unfortunately, I can't really say the same this time though. I booked a lunchtime table for 3 of us. Initial reception from the guy in charge wasn't exactly friendly and there seemed to be some kind of negative atmosphere going on with him and a younger waitress? It's still a nice place to go and very warm, but I noticed that my seat didn't look clean and had various stains. When I looked to swap with another chair, I noticed that they were also in a pretty dirty condition. Bit disappointed with that. The food was good though... a very tasty and filling burger, maybe a bit pricey? The girl serving us was attentive and friendly, so overall it was a good lunch. I would just have expected a friendlier reception and clean seating.

My wife and I both had the Ceviche and the Turbot, which were excellent. Cooking fish is not easy, but our Turbot was perfectly cooked--moist and not overcooked--and very well presented. Well done!

Lovely Sunday lunch with friends. Restaurant - warm and friendly.

Quite good meal but not perfect. Had spatchcock poussin and pork schnitzel. The former was very nice but the pork was quite tough. Maybe overcooked and dried out as the pig had good pedigree. Followed with a chocolate fondant with ice cream which was very nice. Not the best tonight.

Amazing fish and chips and friendly service. The atmosphere was welcoming and the fireplaces really made me want to stay longer and snuggle up with a book!

Heavily meat based menu. One plant based choice which is a very bland peal barley risotto for £16. No imagination to menu or use of vegetables having eaten in Italy the previous week the gulf in price & environmental creativity was notable. The other vegetarian option on a la carte was virtually inedible as the ricotta cheese balls were rock hard & could not be pieced by knife or fork. Lovely village, pub & service but suitable only for people who enjoy enormous portions of fish or steak. Wouldn’t visit again without seeing the menu.

The first occasion that we have been to the Bell for Sunday lunch. Main course of roast beef was a delight. Pinkish meat and excellent veg. Shared a naughty chocolate fondant for pudding with my missus. Thoroughly recommend the Bell.

Dropped in the Bell for dinner. Tried the tuna which was delicious- a massive tuna slice on top of small veg. Indeed covered the veg entirely. Would be worth putting a touch more veg on the plate with such a huge piece of tuna. Also had a burger which was very large with nice skinny chips. Excellent meal. Will go for tuna again!

We chose the Bell at Ramsbury as it was the only pub restaurant in the area that suited all the people in my group's locations. Plus, the online reviews are good. It took a long time for our drink order to be taken. But, I was pleased to see tap water and glasses on the table. All of us thought that the main courses seemed overpriced for what you received (hearing that you get 9 chips (Jenga style) with the battered haddock dish was surprising and disappointing!). The desserts were delicious and they were probably the best part of the whole meal. The waitress who served us was very sombre and not engaging, so it didn't come as a surprise when we found out that that day was her last day working there - a fact she loudly declared she was very, very happy about. A tip is automatically added to your bill which isn't always welcome. We didn't see any disabled parking bays which isn't very good.

A lovely Sunday lunch. A good choice of tasty food. A little bit above average pricing but we had a sunny table by the window and really enjoyed the meal.

Service was awful - we had to ask for everything all the time - got the order wrong starters and main - no one did a check back - waited for ages for the wine - such a shame because the Food is Outstanding - really well presented , cooked , hot and very tasty but the poor attention to detail of the waiting staff let it down dreadfully .

Excellent meal; the roast was full of flavours and presented with care. Gluten free options for most of the menu. Still quite busy later into the sunday afternoon but the restaurant had enough space to deal with everything. The staff were attentive and very polite. A very pleasant afternoon well spent.

We had a very enjoyable lunch, on a quiet day. The menu is varied and well chosen with a very interesting ceviche starter. The venison main was gamey, the tartare starter slightly over spiced. Praline parfait was delicious! Service throughout was attentive and courteous. We would go back, but it is quite a long way from home !

Lovely fish & chips, but very expensive, £19 for small fish & six neatly stacked chips is excessive in price.

I organised a birthday meal for 22 people at The Bell and it was superb. We had some last minute changes to people and food and these were accommodated and we were given all the tables in the lounge which was perfect. Everyone left very satisfied with their meals. We will return.

Second time I’ve eaten at the Bell and both times have been delightful and delicious. The shortbread was the best I have ever tasted and it’s a shame it’s not for sale. Unfortunately, the service was slow. The staff took 20 mins to bring drinks we ordered when we first sat down. When we asked some questions about some of the food the staff didn’t know the answers. I will always make sure I have sufficient time whenever I come but will definitely be back again.

The first course was good, )soup, welsh rarebit and chicken liver parfait) but 2nd course not - rump steaks very tough and the pork was not exceptional. Service was good but the room was rather cold. I have previously had very good meals there but would now qualify any recommendation.

A table for 4 for a Sunday lunch in this lovely old pub in lovely, classy, Ramsbury. Excellent staff and fine food. The beef was a bit rare for me but nice and tasty. (I didn't ask to have it cooked more, although I am sure Chef would have obliged) Not bad prices either. We would be very happy to return any time. No complaints at all.

Cannot fault the food or the service at the Bell. It was a great way to see out the old year. We will definitely be back again.

We were a big group, 7 adults and 2 small children.. and a dog!! The food was perfect, and we know it's not easy to cook for lots of people all ordering different things, the team are so friendly and helpful.. kind, welcoming and lovely. We had the best day, we feel so lucky that we booked here! Highly recommend and we'll be back lots!

Went for an evening meal. We shared nachos to start, then we both had the roast lamb. We rounded it off with a latte each. Everything was excellent - the food was tasty and plentiful, plus the service was friendly and efficient.

Lovely meal in cosy atmosphere in bar area. Logbfires burning all around. Good food, good atmosphere & good service. Then a short flight of stairs to a warm, cosy bedroom. Nothing better!

First time here and it was a perfect place to celebrate my wife’s birthday. We had a lovely lunch. Service was faultless and so was the food. We would certainly recommend the Bell, and will be back there again as soon as we can.

Atmosphere and service were great. We enjoyed the dinner but felt the size of the vegetable helping in one of the main dishes was too small. The Stake was a bit tough and chewy. We will think twice about coming back.

We felt the food was overpriced, given the portion sizes. The duck breast was delicious, but the cod overdone, with only the most token portion of cavolo nero. The sourdough with the starters was burnt rather than toasted.

This was our first visit to The Bell. There was a warm welcome, and the general standard of decor and comfort in the dining area was good. Being a Monday lunchtime, it was very quiet - with only one other party in the dining area. The menu was short and quite limited. Regretfully, the meals were disappointing - two portions of plaice were significantly underdone, to the point of hazard; and the duck breast was tough. The management response was prompt and apologetic, and items were taken off the bill without quibble. However, the overall effect was not encouraging.

From the moment we entered until we left, the service was excellent. We were immediately offered drinks plus water & presented with the menu. I am gluten free & my choices were explained to me. The food was beautifully cooked & hot. The waitresses were attentive & looked as if they enjoyed their jobs. Overall a very good experience & we shall certainly visit again.

Having had a lovely evening meal here earlier in the year we decided to take my parents for a special lunch which I have to say was a bit disappointing. The menu is limited, prices seemed very high and small portions. If you're going to serve small portions then you should probably downsize the crockery so the food doesn't look quite so lost. The fish and chips had 9 chips on the plate and a pot of mushy peas which was 1/3rd full of probably what equated to 1 level tablespoon.....and none of the dishes came with vegetables. The quality and the taste was not and issue at all, the chef us clearly talented but in all honesty the only course which felt good value was the coffee as at least the cups were full. It was also quite chilly in the area we were in at the front of the building. There was a fire in the room next door but not really generating enough heat into the area where we were sat. Maybe all establishments are increasing prices and reducing portion sizes to offset increased overheads but if that's the case I suspect many of them will see reduced trade. I don't expect the plates to be overflowing but I think we all like to feel we have had value for money. Vegetables and potatoes aren't expensive by comparison to the main course so I think they could give a little there to increase value for money.

Food options on a Sunday more limited especially for non meat eater. One starter wrong, no beetroot in a beetroot salad! Our friend couldn't grab waitress attention so it was her decision to carry on eating it, seemed more like a side salad One main was wrong, roast meat was quickly changed Staff were friendly and busy, but perhaps some are new Overall we've had better experiences here Hopefully next time will be better

Great 80th birthday lunch! 28 of us, we preordered and all the food was delicious, hot and served in one go. The pie was delicious - really well done to the kitchen team such a good job. The room was lovely, easy to decorate. Plenty of room for 28 of us. Staff very helpful - highly recommend as a place for a ‘do’

We met some friends here and we all enjoyed it so much we wish we had booked rooms. We will be back asap

Baba ghanous appetizer was very disappointing. Just a drab grey mess. Had to try and season it myself and fish and chips disappointing - measly piece of fish and dull mushy peas, but moules frites very tasty. Nice ambience and friendly staff. Great attached cafe which turns into a wine bar at night.

Excellent quality of food at a fair price. Hotel makes its own beers and grows a lot of its own food so very fresh. Staff very welcoming. Relaxed atmosphere. Plan to return.

Excellent meal at the Bell Inn, Ramsbury. Good food, house red quite decent. Quite expensive for a village pub (steak £32, lamb £22) but all very well cooked and very tasty.

Had a nice meal at the Bell again. A simple burger and the other a Hake dish. One large and one more dainty, really good meals and then a crime brûlée to share. Lucky to live close to this place!

It was a quiet Monday lunchtime when we visited on this occasion. The service and the food were all terrific. Thank you.

The menu was OK…. Lots of ‘trendy’ sourdough and brioche options which aren’t always the best choices. We had salmon and sesame noodles which were tasty enough. Then we both had steak and chips which was fantastic! The steak was delicious and the peppercorn sauce tasty. The chips were crispy and salad fresh. We had rhubarb and custard Eton mess plus a raspberry and lemon curd millefeuille. Both very good. The restaurant was busy ish and lacking a bit in ambiance. Service was good. We would return, but our preference is definitely fresh, in season, local produce rather than trying to be ‘in fashion.’ The restaurant itself is also ‘tasteful’ rather than having character. Overall, nice and pleasant.

Our wedding anniversary today. I hadn’t eaten at The Bell with my wife for sometime although we’ve had some lovely takeaway Sunday Lunches, and my wife has lunches with friends there reasonably often. So we reserved a table online. Arrived 20 minutes early, no problem....

Very attractive pub/restaurant, friendly, efficient staff, quality food attractively presented.

We went on Saturday for an anniversary lunch. The welcome was warm, the service throughout the meal was attentive and yet not intrusive. - very professional. We indulged in oysters as a pre starter and they were quite simply superb. The starters were great in particular the beef tartare with egg yolk purée and sour dough crisps Our mains were great as were the large portions of French fries. All in all it was excellent , great service, great food and great value for money Unreservedly recommended

The evening meal was delicious. Good amount of choice on the menu. Also good value . Staff very friendly and helpful we couldn’t have asked for more . After our meal we sat by the open fire to enjoy a night cap . We will return.

We booked The Bell for 20+ of us and from start to finish it was amazing, the process of pre orders and then actually going tonight all went really smoothly. Food and service was also brilliant nothing was too much to ask 👏

Good was phenomenal, 3 people ordering 7 dishes over starter, main and desert which couldn’t be faulted. Staff were attentive and friendly and the open fire was a lovely touch towards the ambience of the room. It was unusually quiet for a Friday evening. We will be back!
