Gran ambiente, precios razonables, decoración fresca y ambiente relajado.

I come to the bell once or thwice a month and have done for the last 3-4 years. It is a fantastic little pub, and the owner is a legend, and the bar staff are just great. Overall, my favorite pub for an after work or weekend pint (and smoke;). Big up

I never bother with reviews but there is a fine line between 'having character' and having an extremely off-putting crack/men's hostal kind of pub (huge men's hostal around the corner). Depends what your after, personally, stink of pee, disgusting toilets, having our ear bitten off by a crack head and his ramblings, being asked for change and cigarettes non stop as the volatile owner passive aggressively bullies a dog owner into leaving, after previously overhearing her telling them it was fine to bring it in just isn't my cup of tea (such a cute dog too). Garden's nice, heater is great, however on busier days I never noticed the gross hygiene level. The chavy staff just don't want to be there, neither does the awkwardly placed posh-sounding owner/manager and it's reflected in the way they speak to people, (perhaps the crack-heads have worn them down, perhaps it's the smell or what they must put up with) but the attitude is awful, the owner rolls her eyes every time you ask for anything, from where the toilettes are to what she reckons on a particular ale. If your going to proudly run a pub that smells like that, at least be a bit nicer. History is all this place has going for it or it would have been closed years ago. I think on the weekend it's more of a mixed crowd which is when I have visited before and it's not too bad but in the week, mens hostal vibe. Don't take a date here, not even as a stepping stone to somewhere else, you will regret it (luckily it wasn't the first date) haha

I didn't come here for food so cant comment on that but went here on a Saturday afternoon for a few drinks. the pub has a great garden and is very secluded with heaters if it gets a bit cold. the staff are very friendly and helpful and the prices are not too bad either. would definitely recommend!

Nice bar, bohemian vibe, good smiley service. Students and locals plus all sorts in here - a nice fire, wooden floors. No sawdust but really a nice place. They do tapas but we weren't eating - chef is Spanish so there is a certain authenticity. Decent house red by the glass. There's a back room which was empty on our lunchtime visit, so we all trouped in there and had the place to ourselves. Several real ales, Butcombe seemed the most popular among my degenerate friends. It's tucked away down a back street off Stokes Croft. Perhaps not the smartest address in town but worth seeking out.
