Stopped here on a complete whim on our journey from Hampshire to South Devon. Greeted very warmly by a lovely lady (not sure of name sadly) who found a table for us despite no booking. Menu was interesting with some choices different from your standard menu. I had a burger (delicious with homemade onion rings and coleslaw) and my wife had dirty fries (with chorizo, tomato sauce and cheese). Really reasonable price, delicious food and really friendly staff. We’ll be making this a regular stop from now on!

Fitted us in on a busy night for drinks and dinner. Friendly service and v kind to our dog! Good pub grub and great beers. We would return.

An old building done up tastefully for a change, Excellent service - really friendly, I scoffed at paying 14 quid for a sandwich but it was amazing, loads of trimmings and some wonderful pickled cabbage. Generous portions and a beautiful village. Completely random choice as was just looking for lunch somewhere but I will definitely be back next time I'm passing.

You never know what you’re going to get when you try a pub en route to somewhere but this place is a delight. The pub itself seemed full of smiling locals and despite it being April the fire was roaring to keep the rained on guests warm and dry. The restaurant seating is further back - felt less like a pub and with eclectic decor but a good vibe nonetheless. I ordered the beef burger and my husband the chicken burger. Both absolutely delicious. In fact it’s been a long time since I enjoyed such a good burger. The fries and little side salad were also excellent. If passing through this area of Devon again, I’d happily re-visit!

We visited the Bell for Sunday Lunch on a recommendation and were not disappointed. The staff were extremely friendly and the service was very good. My wife is Gluten free and were pleased that she could have all the Sunday Roast on offer - indeed, there was an extensive choice of deserts as well. Particular praise for the beef. We will come again!

On route To Ilminster Arts for a jazz gig, our usual choices for place to eat either closed (?) or unable to make a booking; hence search for an alternative and discovered the Bell. Made a booking via the internet, which also reminded us on the booking prior to the event 👍😊 On arrival, friendly greeting and taken to a table close to the open fire. Unfortunately no Becks Blue, my person choice of low alcohol beer, but offered alternative. Chose Boeuf Bourguignon which arrived in a bowl with potatoes and separate dish of green veg. An excellent choice , had run out of vanilla ice cream, so had a sorbet, lovely flavour. By the time we had finished the pub was heaving with customers, which was good to see. It wasn’t until we were eating, when we noticed the pizza oven, being our first visit had not appreciated this option, would suggest this should be brought to the attention when given the menu; although expect everyone else knows about it 🤷‍♂️😊 An excellent choice, staff with sense of humour, very good food, will definitely visit again, just the Becks Blue to make perfect choice.

We found this by chance and were very pleased with the clean, fresh and welcoming feel as we walked in. Our dog was welcome and the meal, pie and a freshly made pizza were very good. Can't fault the food or the lovely staff.

Reopened under new regime, completed with taste, comfort, and still with village pub atmosphere. Staff obliging. Pizza oven. Seems to ✅ all the boxes. Think the kitchen will be fully functional very soon. Opens for morning coffee, hot Chocolate. Village opinions all seem very favourable.

El nuevo licenciatario entusiasta, Paul, ha introducido un domingo Carvery, que es excelente. Mi marido y yo hemos tratado esto en un par de ocasiones, la más reciente el domingo pasado. La selección de carne es buena y las verduras muy bien preparada, lo mejor de todo se sirve en platos calientes (en mi opinión, el signo de un buen restaurante) y el joven chef Joel hace a sus propios los budines de Yorkshire. Hay un fuego de leña y el ambiente es el de un agradable pub del país.

Metimos en con la familia en el camino de vuelta de Ilminster, así que nos alegramos. La comida era de primera clase. Mi hijo tenía un curry de pollo que era excelente comparado con un montón de restaurantes de pub. La mujer tenía sobresaliente y patatas fritas y huevos con tanto de piña (la mayoría sólo te dan 1 y sin opción) las patatas fritas eran geniales, tuve y papas fritas faggots y todo lo que puedo decir es que es de lo mejor que he tenido en años, ellos estaban perfectamente sazonada y expresamente cocinada. Patatas fritas eran tan bien mi hijo mantuvo crudamente la mía ☺ recomendaríamos este pub restaurante a todo el mundo, volveremos cuando en la zona de nuevo pronto. No podía creer que el precio de la comida es de buena calidad, esperaba pagar mucho más y me habría en relación calidad-precio.

Have visited this pub on many occasions. Food both at lunch times and for evening meal is excellent. Staff are welcoming and happy to accommodate us with a noisy toddler.
