We’ve visited a few times and never been that impressed but thought we would try it again. Sadly it has not improved. Our drinks order was taken reasonably quickly and drinks were served without much delay, albeit by someone who had little personality. When it came to taking our order, we were told the fish and chips were not available, which is something one of our party wanted, resulting in a last minute rethink - why were we not told of unavailable items when the menus were handed out? The server took our order without noting what we had selected - perhaps not surprising then that our sharing starter never arrived! If people can’t remember, don’t try and be clever - write it down! The food was very slow in arriving and when it was brought to the table it was ok but nothing special. The chips were lukewarm and unappealing. No one asked us how our food was. One of our party ordered an additional drink which never arrived. Such a shame that a great looking restaurant seems unable to get the basics right.

Good food, service lovely, really friendly helpful staff, shame about air con. There is no air con so it’s very hot in the building when we went as warm outside. Would go back but in winter only.

Visited the beer hall aiming for a few drinks and a cheeky bar snack. The menu is on the pricey side - which is not a problem if the service is even mediocre. Instead, you’re paying prices to be glared at by staff that appear to want to do anything but pour a beer/ provide a friendly service. We went to the bar, waited 10 minutes where not a single drink was poured, and continued to wait, only to be ignored. We decided to go somewhere else. Needless to say, we won’t be returning to the beer hall. Shame really as the building is lovely.

I have been a customer of Everards for years, often coming with family or large groups of food. The menus had gotten steadily more average, but still passable, until the latest version. Today I came with friends and ordered from their sandwich menu, and received a very mediocre and disappointing snack, which felt like a stale scrap from a pantry. Paid extra for fries (which were always included) and counted 12. 12 skinny French fries. Bread stale. Has been going steadily downhill for over a year now but after today I won't go back unfortunately.

Overpriced and undercooked! Ordered the fish finger bap ( comes with lettuce and tartar sauce . Waited half an hour which I didn’t mind. When it arrived the batter on the fish was soggy inside - completely undercooked. The lettuce was three tiny leaves . The garnish was a few crisps . The cost of the meals was over a tenner. The glass of wine (small ) was £5.50. Was very disappointed as the place looks great , someone did an excellent job on the design.

After eating the fish and chips here two of my party were ill. I contacted them afterwards and got the impression that they did not believe me! The chef was only interested if we had sought medical attention, who seeks medical attention for being sick?! The duty manager, Claire then just chose to ignore my email. I would have thought a large company like Everards would have a little bit more customer service. This place survives on its impressive building , it’s such a shame the food is so bad.

This places serves great beer and the chance to taste an enormous range, food is good and staff are friendly… but why oh why does it always smell of fish? Please invest in a more effective extractor fan 😗 I’ve feedback to staff numerous times and they always agree so…

We frequently visit family in Leicester and the Beer Hall has become a regular. The ambience is wonderful, food and beer very good, staff friendly and efficient and prices are good value. It’s good for all ages and dogs are welcome. It’s very spacious, warm and comfortable. An excellent venue!

Looking for a relaxing brunch we arrived at this Beer hall at 10.40 on Saturday At the entrance a sign states “wait here to be served “ So we did for 5 minutes No sign of any service despite staff at the bar about 25m away Eventually we went to the bar to request a table for brunch It was 10.50 The server gleely advised that breakfast is finished This was despite the menu stating breakfast served till 11.00 am Ha she said pointing to the small print Orders need to be made 15 minutes before!!! So at 10.50 NO BRUNCH AVAILABLE Any chance of being fed? No chance, basically, sod off Thanks a lot Service in British eating establishments alive and kicking- not!!

I can't really fault the service as this is the first time we have walked in without a booking. We were immediately served and taken to a table. My partner and I ordered the pulled beef ragu pappardelle....absolutely disgusting!!! I think my dog has eaten better meals, or maybe it was meant for a dog?? Menu is limited, poor variety and extremely overpriced for what you get... Definitely won't bother to eat here again. Such a shame as it's a unique atmosphere and could be something really special.

I was so looking forward to returning to Everards with my family after my previous visits with friends which I had thoroughly enjoyed for food and drinks. but sadly was very disappointed with the food and cleanliness this visit. Firstly it took 10 mins standing at the reception desk to ask for a table before a member of staff took us to a table (queuing with 10 other customers), then we were placed at a table near the back with the breeze coming from the back door, there was a staff door next to us that was pretty stained, cloths and food on the floor near the serving hatch, a pretty poor table. it then took 30 minutes to have our order taken, service staff were polite but not as friendly as previous visits. my husband has a Gluten intolerance and we asked for a Gluten free menu which sadly was not available but we were offered the allergy file, which showed a distinct lack of options for many allergy sufferers. He chose the gammon, egg and chips, gammon was ok but the eggs were overdone and the chips must have had some gluten as he suffered with bloating after the meal. My daughter and I shared some chicken wings which were overdone and hardly had any chicken on them to eat, some nachos which were overdone, deep fried tortillas - I would not recommend (in fact I would advise to take off the menu - we did mention this to the member of staff but she just acknowledged the comment and cleared our plates). Good news is that the BLT and chips for my son were very tasty and enjoyed. Sadly the visit was not well received and my family will not now be returning to eat anytime soon. We do hope this improves.

Hurry Hurry ...if you want to spend £11 of your hard earned cash for some stale flatbread ..unripe cherry tomatoes . Cheap olives and beetroots hummus that tastes of absolutely nothing this is the place for you...just shocking!

Visited with family, and we were thrilled to be seated in a barrel booth! Food was tasty and service was good. The whole place has a great vibe, with drinkers, diners and dogs all welcome! The only negative was my Moscow Mule was served in a glass instead of a copper mug!

Attended for lunch with 6 colleagues. I have been here before for drinks but have never had food. The place is clean and well presented. Service was good and our waitress was very friendly. The issue came with the food. I ordered the fish finger cob but was told they had none as they were waiting for a delivery of fish. She said fish and chips were available which was confusing as the fish finger was fish in the same batter as the fish and chips. Surely they could use half a fish and stick it in a cob 🤷🏽‍♀️. I instead chose the buttermilk burger along with 3 of my colleagues. As soon as it came out I could see the chicken was overcooked and dry. It certainly had not been cooked fresh and looked like it had been sat under a heater for hours. It tasted the same too. Not wanting to make a fuss infront of my colleagues I made do with the meal. The others that had the chicken burger all said theirs were dry too and they had to add additional sauce. I did make the waitress aware of how poor my food was so that she could tell the chefs. She was apologetic but did not come back to update that she had spoken to the chef so I don’t know if the message was passed. I will return here for drinks in future but won’t be wasting my money on any more food

A lovely visit to Everard’s Meadows this evening. Fantastic food, a really great atmosphere, and exceptional service from Claire at the reception. She is a credit to the Everards Brand. The bear hall is a jewel in the crown of Leicester, and I have always had a really lovely meal there.

Great beer on tap ! Chips great too but really let down by the service of the youngest waitress who was incredibly rude and spoke about me at the bar because I had the audacity to ask for a le chouffe in a le chouffe glass and not a standard half pint glass. Thereafter was just plain rude and dismissive. Such as same because we would of stayed for another. But when the table is completely empty it would have been nice to have been asked if we would like another drink rather than be ignored. The other staff seemed OK but unfortunately we won't be going back.

Tasty food and good service. I had aubergine pappardelle and an excellent salad followed by ice cream. Not many vegetarian options but the food was very well cooked.

Made it to the beer hall for the first time finally and I wasn’t disappointed. I’d seen some mixed reviews about the service especially, so I wasn’t sure what to expect, but I can’t fault the service I got from the bar staff. A friendly chap with a beard and accent was very patient with all my questions about the beer. The place has a great atmosphere too. I’ll definitely be back. Can’t wait to try the patio in the summer.

Drop in on the off chance, nothing wrong with the food so ever it was very enjoyable. However, the process of sitting down for a drink and possibly food was some what confusing. As there as no clear instructions about the system without booking from the welcoming staff, wait dressing staff and bar staff. That starters would come out with main meals etc. requires to be made clear when frist arrive without booking at each station. So there is no confusion. Would still recommend.

One of the worst meals I've had. The Meadows platter starter was just odd and entirely unappetising but the real problem was the bavette steak: difficult to cut through and impossible to chew. It was cold, as were the oven chips it came with. To their credit, they did not charge me for the steak after I complained.
