The staff is amazing, and there is a great service .

Called in for a quick bite to eat on the way to Whinfell Forest Center Parks. Good selection of lager and ales on tap. Had the small portion fish and chips and it was more than enough and good quality. Proper chips aswell, not frozen. Fantastic beer garden and play area for kids aswell.

I had fish and chips which looked a really good portion, unfortunately the fish was wafer thin and it was all batter.

We called in just to see if we could bring our dogs in after our lovely walk. Very welcoming, lovely atmosphere and the food was outstanding. The ladies bathroom was immaculate not just the basics for ladies toilets but lovely presentation every thing you could possibly need to freshen up. Baby changing unit too. Staff were very accommodating and friendly. Even fresh flowers on the windowsills.

Popped in hoping to get a table for four without booking and they welcomed us in without issue. It was busy but the food service was quick and it was lovely. Good size carpark and dog friendly, absolutely nothing to complain about!

Was down at the Fire Fighters Charity centre for a bit of R&R, My partner and I went to the Beehive on several occasions over the period of the week and It was brilliant, the staff and friendly and helpful, the foods outstanding and the Guiness was just right, Hoping to be back down in the summer and visit the guys.

Been several times this year already very good value food and drinks and nice fire !

First visit here passing through en route north. Warm welcome, lady behind the bar was friendly. Log fire on the go, decent food portions, football on TV at low volume and fair prices....what more does one need! Would recommend 👍

Popped in on the way to a cottage we was staying in for a couple of beers and some food. Home made chip buttie (proper chips) and Ham barm where both excellent as was the Guinness and Moretti. Excellent service by the bar maid and the atmosphere was great.

Booked a table for 18 for a Sunday lunch while staying at center parcs. What a fab pub , staff couldn't have been more accommodating and lovely home cooked food at competitive prices. If you're in the area I'd definitely recommend.

We had pensioners meals at lunchtime and all our meals were lovely. We will definitely go back. There was a lovely log fire 🔥 and it was cosy. Great friendly staff and good service.

We found this place by accident, and honestly I'm not sure we would have gone if my missus didn't like the name, however this was next level. The burgers were phenomenal. The bar staff were great, nice cosy fire. Will go back again.

Great service and a nice chilled atmosphere. Some of the food was excellent like the halloumi and the onion rings, but some left me feeling a bit stung by the price tag. I ordered a Crispy Chicken Burger and it was literally just a crispy chicken fillet on a dry bun. No sauce or salad. It would be different if it was 'cheap and cheerful' - but the food is not cheap considering the low standard.

The most hospitable restaurant I’ve ever been to! from the amazing wait staff to the children’s play area outside. Everything was so thoughtful and intentional to be accommodating. We were just passing through on a road trip with our 2 and 4 yr olds. We got steak pies and the spaghetti for the kids. Food was amazing! But I just can’t stop thinking about how kind and great everything else was. The playground outside had everything - this place would be our #1 spot if we lived here!! Don’t hesitate if you’re looking for: good drinks, good food, kid-friendly, hospitality, and much more!!

Penshioners lunch ... awful! Cold food, cold plates, lukewarm coffee, heating poor, table dirty. but cheap.

My wife and I went with our friends who have been before to watch rugby league on 8/9/23 ,the manageress was so helpful sorting the TVs out for us as it was very busy (thank you, sorry I didn't get you name),live music in the other room which sounded great, proper old fashioned pub atmosphere 👍👍👍👍

Probably the worst pub lunch I have ever had, poor presentation, over cooked food, just awful…half way through trying to eat the meal a swarm of wasps appeared….avoid, the food is dreadful.

Decent grub and nice people, the atmosphere was a bit lacking, but it was a Tuesday afternoon. Lots of handwritten "no drugs" signs which isn't the nicest decor choice.

Poor quality frozen food that’s significantly overpriced. Service was good from friendly floor staff. Definitely a place to avoid.

I was a bit skeptical given the outside appearance of the pub, and it is a bit dated inside too, but the service was spot on, and the food (Sunday dinner) was top draw, at a good price. Would definitely stop here for food again.

Food was alright but burger was not cooked through enough but other than that it was lovely!! The girls that work here are very polite when taking food and drinks orders. However there was a big bald man that is a local and regular drinker here who had vulgar language so wouldn’t advise bringing young children, he really brought the atmosphere down and we couldn’t talk without him shouting during his conversations…… would have been a lot better if he wasn’t there

Not good on food and service, meals were mediocre from frozen or tins and staff were grumpy. Better off with Weatherspoons, sadly disappointed ☹️.

Great place for a pint and some food. We stopped on our way back to the caravan for a drink and a light lunch. Our kids found the big beer garden great with all the toy ride on cars. The park also went down a treat. The food was nice. I would recommend if you are in the area.

Stopped for food on our way home from a few days walking in the Lake District. Friendly welcoming team with attentive service. Good traditional pub food and great that it is dog friendly, always a bonus for us as we regularly travel with our pooch.

Nice food big beer garden at rear with play area good value for money

Called in yesterday, while enjoying a great bank holiday. The staff were clearly unable to cope with the pub being busy, a family were treated so badly by the staff when they complained about their food to the point the staff called the Police!!!! We left at this point.... shocking, all they did was complain about their food and service. And once again the resident flies were hungry for food.....Not acceptable customer service and no way to get return customers or run a business which is a shame because it used to be a lovely little pub - no longer....

Extremely disappointing visit. Dirty establishment, food I wouldn't feed to my dog and unfriendly staff. My recommendation is the staff including manager require a long intense course in customer service, food hygiene and communication skills! Highly recommended if you like to eat slop with your hands and share it with a large colony of resident flies!

Well run family pub which allows dogs in they even have biscuits on the side for them and offers out water bowls. Visited twice over the weekend both times we received good service by the lovely young staff members and great pub food. We had a range of food over the weekend the best dishes being the homemade lasagane, cumberland sausage, chicken curry pie, smaller portions which are ideal for kids and oap's and the roast dinners. Although the menu is pub food it is homemade and alot better than your weatherspoons or any other chained restaurant. Unfortunately bank holiday Monday there was some unpleasant customers who spoiled the afternoon but this hasn't affected my review as the staff handled them very well. We would definitely visit again specially in the summer as the garden outside is of a great size for young children to play in and a lovely size patio full of benches. Both toilets also have changing facilities for children which is marvellous and little children's toys in one of the windows.

Disgusting food, disgusting service, AVOID. 20minute wait for someone to take our order, 1hour wait for Sloppy lasagne, charcoaled onion rings, cold chips. Staff very inattentive, had to ask for cutlery, drinks served to us by the rim of the glass with dirty fingernails. Tried to express our disappointment to the unprofessional team, where we were left with our uneaten food for a further 25minutes before calling someone over to clear our food due to the amount of flies hovering over us. We were told there was nothing they could do because lasagne is their best seller, Without taking a look at the sloppy disaster on the plate. I would think twice before eating here. A lot of staff for very poor poor service.

Fairly basic pub food which took over 45mins to arrive (despite the place not being too busy and there being ~6 waiting staff). The last dish to be served to our table was the children's one (who was already in tears having to wait so long.) The sausages in my baguette were the cheap breakfast type ones despite someone else receiving a tasty Cumberland on their plate. Didn't hang about for sweets as we couldn't spare any more time... Jacket potatoes looked good however and they do let dogs in and have a convenient car park and garden. Just across the road from Arthur's Table (no dogs allowed there however).

It was a lovely day so we sat in the beer garden with the dog. Plenty of tables to sit at. Swings etc for the kids. Had two pints of lovely lager and shared a sandwich and chips. Very good friendly service. A young lady, think it was Sinead asked if we wanted some water for the dog. Very plesant little visit. Will stop off more often on our way home from town.

Lovely service from waitress’ but unfortunately the food let the place down, my daughter had chicken nuggets and chips which she didn’t finish as they tasted fishy/off and the steak pie filling was very chewy and crust very hard, mash potatoes tasted sour. We thought it might redeem itself at the desserts but unfortunately we had ordered a biscoff cheese cake, which was not a cheese cake at all but some biscuit crumbs scattered on the bottom of the bowl topped with pouring cream. No cheese cake filling to be found, it was like a sloppy cream soup with crumbs. Could be way better.

Great visit to meet up with family from up North. We drove from Manchester they drove from Scotland to eat some fine food & hand over birthday gifts. Fish & Chips was so nice, fish was huge with fairly light batter that tasted lovely. Steak pie was home made & my son said it was even better than mine ! Looked really juicy with lean meat. Mac n Cheese for the others which was a great size portion just for the little one. Said it was very tasty and the garlic bread looked really juicy. Nice friendly pub with equally friendly & attentive staff. Started to get really busy just as we sat down which I think was due to the football being on but the atmosphere was really nice. Definitely eat there again next time we meet up and most definitely recommend the food.

Very friendly staff, large car park and just off the M6. Dog friendly was why we visited. Basic pub food, ran out of coffee beans, no ice....would I return probably not....Internet photos do not reflect reality.

Fantastic pub! We stopped off on a long drive from Manchester to Northumberland, stumbled across this place as a conveniently located dinner stop… can’t believe our luck! The food was fantastic, plenty of choice for vegetarians, kids toys for our toddler, and helpful service from all the staff. The little touches throughout the pub show that someone has taken great care of this pub, from the well stocked baby changing facilities in both ladies & gents loos, to the doggy biscuits and fantastic baby toys… little touches that show an attentive owner. A fantastic find and we’ll be back on our next trip up!

Not enough on the vegetarian menu

Stopped here to be told they were had no available tables as their supplier hadn’t come that day. No problem, these things happen. Back out to car and headed off to find somewhere else. A fortnight later, we get £100 fine for illegal parking in their car park (14mins we were there) and despite trying to get the pub to help sort this, to no avail, we are being hounded now for £170 and threatened with debt collectors. Utter scam.

We stopped in for lunch on the way to Harrogate on 27th December. Very limited menu then not all available. Staff were friendly.

We were there for lunch, pleasant girl behind the bar. We had lunch which we enjoyed, not a full menu but nicely presented. It would have been nice to have had the fire lit as a little chilly.

1 star is far too generous for The Beehive Inn! I’ve had far better meals at Morrisons Cafe. Called in the other day and before we entered the pub there’s ANPR logging you down for a £60 invoice from the carpark you’ve to enter your reg on the bar Finally got into the pub to be met by stale dirty air and with a mixture of air fresheners and incense sticks mixed in. Was shown to a table what was sticky and all the varnish removed looked like a used chopping board and the chairs were all mix-match. The salt and pepper pots were covered in sticky grime and the vinegar had turned cloudy. ordered at the bar after a wait for staff tapping away on their phones, pint of dark fruits couldn’t fault that 5 stars. Nice to see a open fire lit but the pub wasn’t benefiting from it as it was freezing. Back at the table waiting for food which took 50 minutes to come out! Pub wasn’t that busy and only serving roasts. I’d noticed the restaurant & pool area was covered in unnecessary clutter from what I could see from the lack of lighting then noticed the ceiling was littered with dangling cables going here there and everywhere. Looked like it had been shut months with the amount of grime built up. Finally to the luke warm beef roast! Large Yorkshire pudding 5 stars no issues, Roast Potatoes good just not a not enough, beef tasted like it was Asdas pre sliced out of a packet, two tough thin pieces with lumps of cartilage on the edges. Thin layer of stone cold mash Surrounded buy a pool of watery thin gravy with pools of oil separated on top. The veg, cabbage, peas, carrot and possible turnips looked like it had just done an 1800rpm cycle in a washing machine filled with oil they were battered and oil logged and barely warm. The cauliflower cheese was just vile, oil floating on top of some unknown thin white cheese sauce Liquid that didn’t taste or smell like cheese sauce, and had texture of a mixture of gone off fully skimmed watered down milk mixed up with the juice out of the bottom of the fridge. I can see now why the table opposite had left most of their food and I felt sorry for the couple who sat down to eat when I was leaveing. As I was walking out the door I noticed someone was getting a refund for food that hadn’t been made due to a kitchen error and they had enough of waiting. Ideal location, the pub was busy enough but it needs a refurb and some chefs that can actually get a good roast dinner out the door in less then 50minutes

Disgusting and cold food and extremely slow service. The place would definitely benefit from a good clean and I would recommend retraining the staff so they at least have half a clue about the tasks in hand and maybe do something to motivate them while your at it.

The food and serve was amazing. The chef came out to help me choose something, due to my dietary requirements. After I had eaten he came out and said if I let him know what I would like in advance he will cook if me. I don't often get such amazing serve, I'm often told they can't serve, I highly recommend a visit. 😁

PLEASE NOTE: I have to change my review unfortunately. The car park for this pub is managed by a private company and apparently you need to register your car on a touchpad inside the pub. No one pointed this out to us and consequently, 6 months after our visit, I received a payment demand for £100! I appealed and this was reduced to £20 but it's still hassle and extra cost to the unwary. It has tainted my view on this establishment rather a lot but I don't think its enough to justify removing my original review so I have left that below..... Just one star away from excellence. We called in after a very busy Sunday of the bank holiday weekend, We were advised that only Sunday Roast menu was available and only Roast Ham was an option. No problem 3 of those and a kids meal please. Absolutely delicious from beginning to end. Just not quite enough to satisfy 3 very hungry chaps. Just an extra notch or two on the servings and it would be perfect. The veg was delicious too. Lose a star for the gents toilets which look a little dated and perhaps in need of attention. I got the impression that this is also a popular local pub too as there were some non eating clientele too.

Very disappointing, called in on Thursday at five to three to be told they had stopped doing food! Even though a sign outside stated food served 12 to 8.

Disgraceful, we went here after driving 6 hours from London, went in to see a bunch of teenagers working there who barely acknowledge me. It was 7:50pm and I asked if they were still serving food as it said online it was still serving until 8:30pm, they immediately said no. After I walked outside to see the sign say food until 8:00pm, this was very frustrating that they were not even bothered to take anymore customers. Despite being frustrated, the worst of it was a week later, I have been fined £100 for parking in the pub car park for 12 minutes!!!!! This was not clear at all and absolutely appalling for a pub car park. Needless to say I will not ever be visiting.

Lovely meal ..shame they don't serve as times stated on website though. Ordered another 3 meals before 3 for family who had travelled a long way with a small child but they couldn't even manage 3 bowls of chips as they were "prepping for tea" !!!

Very poor experience waited ages for starters to come and then it was cold when it came and then the main meal was warm but we just wanted to get out at that point

Not great, and has seemed to have gone greatly downhill. We went in on two days recently to find that food had stopped serving, in one case four hours before the listed serving time came to an end. This is now more unreliable than the squirrel which leaves little option but the pub opposite if you are local and dont drive. The focus on thai food there is a problem for people with allergies however. If you do drive, the parking isnt free and you risk a massive fine in case you forget and / or dont get your plates registered. Honestly its as if the pub doesnt want customers as the whole thing seems to dissuade from bothering to try getting served. I have given two rather then one stars because the staff seem genuinely lovely and the food we managed to get one day was good. The selection unfortunately is nowhere near what it was and can be described as serviceable at best. With all things considered ill be avoiding eating here. Its cheaper, easier and more reliable to cook at home or book somewhere in askham. It just all feels lacklustre and badly planned.

Well to be fair it might have been an off day ,haddock was probably frozen and was a watery mush ,ladies ordered sandwiches which said ham on menu but were drowned in mustard ,no problem they were changed , then they brought out the wrong bread after granary was asked for ... but the drinks were fine . First day of a holiday but to be truthful i doubt we'd venture back !

I think the best way to describe the The Beehive Inn would be OK, it was a fairly busy Sat afternoon the bar and the staff were nice enough but little things like the table not being cleaned, food on the floor (trying to stop dogs getting said food) and a rather small menu, again my burger was OK but not great.

Bad atmosphere, felt awkward and on edge. Asked for menu at table, never got it so didn't bother ordering. Pint of cider was good though.
