Friendly staff, cosy atmosphere. I’m gluten free and they have nice gluten free options. I had the shepherds pie; honestly the best shepherds pie I’ve ever had. Definitely recommend 😊

Quiz and drinks with family. This has become a weekly thing for us, good fun and a lovely atmosphere. Staff are friendly and Paul always gives us a good laugh!

Although visit frequently in the evenings for meals with friends, thoroughly enjoyed our 1st Sunday Lunch here today with family for our granddaughter's birthday meal. Service was excellent, food plentiful and beautiful. Atmosphere was lovely, parking on site and great value. Look forward to a return relaxing ,Sunday meal.

I'm a regular at the Beacon and have seen the standard of food get better and better. I booked a table for a colleague's retirement do, there were ten of us. The pub was already busy when we got there at 6.00pm. Despite this, we were well looked after, everyone enjoyed the food and a splendid night was had by all. A word of caution. If you order the large portion of wings, make sure you are sharing! I ended up taking 15 wings home! Thanks to all the Beacon.

Absolutely honking Sunday dinner - possibly the worst I’ve ever ‘eaten’ . Don’t think any of it was cooked fresh - the roast potatoes were frozen (air fried I think) mush. The root vegetables were all brown. The chicken and gammon was dry. Just inedible - even the dog turned its nose up at it.

Great Pub and Food - visited with my two parents this evening for a meal and a drink. Great value for money and nice atmosphere - I would highly recommend!

Spent a pleasant afternoon with friends at the Beacon served by friendly and knowledgeable staff. However around 5 00 pm we were told our table was booked from 6.30pm although our table was occupied by us and was shown as not booked Question how can you book a table that is already occupied with no notice of termination.

We had a 40% voucher - it was a lovely evening so used the offer for a cheaper meal. There was nothing to improve - thoroughly enjoyed our meal in pleasant surroundings and good selection of drinks.

Called in to the Beacon last night for last minute dinner plans with a friend , was around 630pm got seated fine , our dinner of lasagne was lovely then we had sticky toffee pudding which was amazing 👏

Really enjoyable experience. We haven’t been in a while as standards had slipped but I think it might be under new management. Food was delicious, atmosphere was buzzing and the place has had a lick of paint so looks great. Will definitely be back!

Never again. Food was appalling. Ordered crispy chicken ciabatta. . The chicken was nearly all batter and cut up into 8 tiny little pieces and had been placed into the ciabatta on a single lettuce leaf. I did complain and they refunded my money.. but my Mam's meal was poor tòo. Will definitely not go again.

Dropped in late afternoon Saturday, was busy but they found us a table. Service was excellent, food was very good and the prices don’t break the bank. We will be back and would recommend

As soon as we walked we were treated and sat at our table, the staff were so friendly and we were looked after from start to finish, as it was my mother's Birthday celebration, we had a fantastic meal and my mother extremely enjoyed her sea bass. We will definitely be back. Thank you so much

Mother's Day Lunch. Table for 2. Greeted by friendly staff and shown to our table by the fire place. Ordered food and drinks at the bar and food was delivered to the table within 10 minutes. The chicken roast was superb and very substantial. Exceptional value for money. Finished our visit off with a chocolate sundae, lovely. Great local pub, friendly and efficient staff. Had a great night out for a friend's birthday here, after not having been in a while. Everyone enjoyed their food, staff were friendly, welcoming and helpful, and atmosphere was great. Think some good improvements have been made and it shows - will definitely start going more :o)

Will someone please ask the staff to clear dirty dishes from the table. On the last few times we have been here we have waited up to half an hour for the table to be cleared, and that's at a QUIET time of day. The food we had was almost inedible, the wife left most of her meal and parts of mine were overcooked.

The staff were friendly and efficient and the food was delicious,2 of us had the sea bass which was beautifully presented and the fish was so fresh& my Uncle.had the shepherd's pie which he said was very tasty.Deserts.and coffee were all lovely and pub was warm with a.roaring log fire which all added to the atmosphere, would highly recommend, thank-you to the staff for a great visit

Great pub and restaurant. Excellent choice of food and drink. We had a very enjoyable lunch with some lovely food and didn't wait long for our meals to arrive. Staff are excellent very hard working and happy to help. Will certainly go there again.

We had an excellent meal and the staff were really friendly. I’ve been to a few Ember Inns and it was to the usual excellent standard. We almost didn’t come her due to a couple of bad reviews but I’m so glad we did. We had a mixed grill, hunters chicken and Gobi dhansak curry and couldn’t fault any of it. It was all delicious, well cooked and well presented.

Horrible. Haven't been here for a while as food not up to much. Thought we'd try it again. Ordered mixed grill, sausages cremated black as coal and raw inside. Had them changed but still no better. Chips soo dry, I can get better at Aldi. Maybe okay for a drink but that's all won't be coming back anytime soon.

Definitely go to this pub., If you want to feel uncomfortable, this was our first impression of staff woman, so rude terrible attitude, no customer skills what so ever, our family duly left without ordering food or drinks, awful experience. Will be telling all I no not to venture into this pub.

Spent Saturday afternoon at the Beacon and had a delightful meal. The staff were amazing and went above and beyond to make my visit brilliant. The food was extremely tasty and it came in great time. The portion sizes were brilliant and the standard of food was of the highest quality. Would highly recommend!

We were there on Mother’s Day later on in the afternoon. The food was appalling. 3 out of the 4 people on my table had Sunday lunch. The veg was the cheapest frozen veg and parts of the meal were raw! What a disappointing experience.

Fantastic that the Beacon now allows well behaved dogs. We will now be able to visit more often👍great that the dog area is tucked out of the way too, so as not to offend any non dog lovers🐶

We are thrilled that the beacon is trialing allowing dogs in! We live around the corner and have always been restricted as to when we can come in due having a very well behaved dog and now we have been here 3 times this week! It is a small, separate area to which people who don’t want to sit alongside our furry friends don’t have to. Fingers crossed the trials a success, if you see little Zeus on your travels to the restroom, tickles are always welcome!

Been coming to the beacon for over a year now and have always been made to feel welcome. Good value food and drinks, Even better now we can bring our four legged friend in as well.

Live close to this pub and come here all the time. Lovely, tasty food, good drink selection and love that it is now dog friendly!!! It’s great to take the dog for a walk locally and be able to pop into the local at the end!! Please never be dog friendly! So good!

Great pub, good food, excellent owners who are friendly nothings a bother. Even better they are letting dogs into our local, which is a massive plus in our eyes.

We (my partner & I) came here feeling very hungry for a Sunday dinner. Our first time out since lockdown, we did book a table & we were greeted at the door upon arrival. The whole process of their covid procedures to ordering food was explained clearly by the manager. After ordering food & drink at the bar there wasn't much of a wait before food arrived I opted for Turkey while she went for the pork option. Everything was superb very tasty with no complaints, we just about left room for deserts & left feeling very full. The atmosphere although it was busy was just about right for the establishment. Visited the Beacon for tea on Monday. Due to dine in to help out it was busy with a number of tables reserved. Having booked we were shown to our table, having trouble with the App we ordered drinks and food at the bar. Food was good and the usual good selection of ales. I recommend the IPA and Katsu Chicken Curry. Pub had a really good atmosphere with background music at an acceptable level and staff quickly cleaning vacated tables. Been 3 times since reopening and it has got better each time.

Visited for lunch. Starter and main courses were good however, the coffee and dessert I think was forgotten about so my eton mess was just mush when it came after I had asked where it was. Staff were very friendly and the manager was extremely helpful. However, I am guessing the staff behind the bar were new as they were not sure when questions were asked. I have visited this pub many times and have never had bad service . Food has always been lovely at a good price and the staff have always been lovely. However in this new covid world I was shocked to see no ppe in use . Yes there was hand sanitsers and 1 way systems, which 1m social distance. There was no protection for customers from the staff. No use of plastic shielding at the till and no use of face masks from the waiters. Which I assumed would be mandatory. I just found it uncomfortable when the server came over with drinks that I had to move to keep my distance. I'm not an old person but I was elder this may gave people worry or concern. Overall a good service just no protection

Disappointing meal at the beacon. Food was clearly microwaved with frozen chips that tasted like cardboard.My wife's pasta had two pieces of chicken in it, with a very dry almost non existent sauce.not good.

We only live 5 mins away, so come here every week or so. Usually have a Katsu Chicken, A fish and chips, lasagne and Steak. All are very nice, just as you would expect for a mid priced Pub. Sunday dinner also very nice, pork cooked perfectly (never has the beef). The staff are friendly-even when there isn’t a major delay, Lauren apologises when she brings the food over.

The Beacon was a great choice for lunch with the family. The staff were very attentive. We ordered from the main menu which provided loads of choice. Parking wasn’t a problem at this time of the day.We enjoyed the visit & will return again very soon.

Family reunion. Lunch on Saturday was enjoyed by everyone. Could have been more family friendly with outside area for children.

I had a simple midweek lunch and will definitely return. Fast and friendly service at an excellent price for a sit down meal. Plenty of choice on the menu. Lauren came to the table to check all was good and gave me more info about the menu (I had missed some of the options).

Group of seven, good sized table so not squashed in. Good choice of drinks and food. The sharer starters were a good size, especially the wings, the main courses came out and were...okay. I think mine was the worst. Six pieces of scampi that were so hard and dry that one flew off my plate when I tried to stick a fork in it!. Chips dry also, frozen peas best bit of my meal! Disappointing meal but nice staff and a nicely presented pub. Luckily we had drinks at slightly higher prices than some other local places. Would be wary about recommending as. Feel food is a bit hit and miss.

We went at approx 4pm on Sunday August 4th. We chose the Sunday lunch two course option. The service was very good and the two prawn cocktails came quickly. The portions were adequate and we enjoyed them, so were looking forward to the two beef meals. Again the service very quick with the mains served quickly but after that was very disappointing... in all the years of having a Sunday roast at many establishments have I seen anything like this. I can only describe the meal as a roast stack. There was all the veg mixed on the bottom, then the roast potatoes and parsnip, then a few small slices of over cooked beef, then topped off with an aunt Bessie’s Yorkshire pud on top. Must have been about 5 inches high.... with a tiny jug of gravy on the side. We ate about half as were hungry but the main course was laughably poor. Chewy beef, tasteless roasties and mixed veg straight out the freezer. First time at the Beacon for Sunday lunch and the last. Staff fab, good quick service. Just a shame that the mains let everyone down.....

We visited this pub for Sunday dinner we rarely get out as husband disabled.You can understand why we were very disappointed with the meal everything was frozen not fresh.All food Luke warm and micro waved never have I had this before will not be eating here again and won’t be recommending here.The manager did come over but did not give an honest reason apart from to say most places did this well I’m sorry they do not.

Booked a table for 7 to celebrate an early Father's day meal. Many meal choices unavailable due to a lack of delivery of stock.

Stumbled across this pub by accident. I'm vegan so sometimes pubs aren't the best places for food but low and behold a whole menu dedicated to non meat eaters. The falafel for starter was lovely. I then had the beetroot and squash filo tart with potatoes and steamed greens. The tart was okay though I probably wouldn't have it again. Unfortunately I didn't have room for dessert. Food reasonably priced and will happily return here to try something else on the menu.

As a frequent visitor of the Beacon, I ordered hunters chicken which I order regularly. When the meal arrived the jug of bbq sauce had bits in it and smelt like chilli. I queried this issue to be told there was curry in the bbq sauce, which is not stated on the menu. After raising the issue I was told in a cheeky manner that they would get something more mild for me. Disappointed with the service as it is usually good. Got mocked for not being able to eat a hot sauce when I love chillis, that’s not what I ordered

Found this by chance whilst getting fuel at sainsbury late evening so decided to give it a go. Don't be put off by outside inside is clean and well decorated in the usual chain pub style, as this is a chain pub I was really supprised at the choice. The meals did not take long to be delivered to our table although the place was fairly busy. The food itself was very nice considering it is a chain pub and cheap compared to the places we had been to before. I would not go there for a special night out but will be returning next time I am in the area for a meal
