Salutation Inn in North Tyneside

Dear Sal Management, I am writing to you regarding my great disappointment towards your security staff to maintain a safe environment to all your patrons. Last night, a visibly intoxicated individual not only openly declared, “I am a racist” within your premises but also directed multiple offensive slurs toward people of colour, the LGBTQ+ community, and women. While I understand that security staff may not be able to catch every incident, the continued harassment by this individual, with no decisive action taken by your team, is deeply troubling. The only support deemed appropriate by your staff was to quite up and keep to yourselves after they felt they the situation to be too rowdy. This response is entirely inadequate, particularly when the behaviour was so blatant that even the friends of the abuser distanced themselves from him, once noted by other patrons. Furthermore, there was no consideration for our safety once we left the premises, leaving us vulnerable to further harassment. I very much hope that you understand no action indirectly means support of these actions. I truly feel great disappointment and frustration over this matter with the lack of support and care you have shown. Any action now is too late; however, I trust the appropriate training is given to prevent a reoccurrence. No person of colour or gay man should feel unsafe and unwelcomed as we felt in your venue. regards,

Staff took ages to acknowledge you at bar although clearly they had nothing to do just avoided serving people been coming here since 1970 this will be the last time very disappointing!!

Me and my two husbands were made to feel very welcome. It’s very kid friendly and they don’t even ask if they’re your kids. Top notch

Poor access to disabled toilet involving a step which was not negotiable with a mob ility scooter.

Went for breakfast the day before but forgot to take photos, and went for a quick bite to eat today, (took photos). The food both days was tasty, not greasy like some places can be, great service by Laura, lovely and clean, and will happilu recommend you go try it out.

We wanted a cheeky few cocktails before our meal . Opted for the salutation big mistake . My partner went to the bar , pint of cider two pornstar martinis . When he came back from the bar I asked where the Prosecco was . Returned to the bar and the young chap said I couldn’t have any as there wasn’t much and they were keeping it for the bottomless brunch 🤷‍♀️ When I refused the drinks , my partner returned them back to the bar . Reluctantly they gave him a refund . Whilst at first saying it wasn’t there policy to refund . I know where I’ll avoid in the future.

Poor service. Our orders were wrong staff, completely uninterested and unhelpful the place wasn't even busy only handfull of customers in. Wouldn't return or recommend.

Awful bouncers that are clearly on a power trip.

Good was pretty good, fish and chips better than most chain pubs, tables were all dirty though, and whilst they encourage you to use the app for ordering, neither of us had any signal, so had to sign up for the WiFi first, then download the app and order, which was a bit of a pain.

Great place with a great choice of drinks and fantastic food. We had the ‘Crowd Pleaser’ sharing platter and it was delicious. Everything was piping hot and really tasty. Great value to share between two. Friendly staff and a huge choice of drinks including various Beaverton guest ales/lagers.

Went with a group of friends yesterday and it was absolutely fantastic. We had the bottomless brunch. Food was really good, drinks amazing and aplenty. The server we mainly had was on the ball, all staff were great. We had a fab time .

Waited 20 minutes for a cup of tea , ordered a full English breakfast and a round of toast , the toast was cold and brittle also the sausages looked as if they had been cooked the night before and then put in a fridge for them to just be blasted in the microwave on the day of serving . We asked for an extra tea bag as the tea bags were only the one cup fills and the tea coming out the pots was weak, we were told we would have to pay for the tea bag £2.30 , lady's toilets rotten all in all wouldn't go back

Just went for bottomless brunch , our waiter was callled Cameron . What a great evening and a great waiter very attentive and professional, will definitely recommend and return

Yesterday my husband and I visited this restaurant and ordered food through the app, the code for which I saw on the table. The money left our bank account, but we did not receive the food we ordered, unfortunately. The manager told us, sorry, this is always the case with us if you pay for your order through the app. It is strange why offer visitors an app that does not work. The evening was ruined.

Great staff good food worth a visit

Staff were rude and unwilling to help. Stated on their website they would be showing sports but when asked if they were able to put this on for us they refused.

Enjoyable pizza and drinks for our lunch stop. Will be back to try other menu options.

Really enjoyed this place, family friendly and had the football on TV, food was spot on and everyone enjoyed what they had, I ordered the hand stretched BBQ chicken pizza and my wife got the open wrap which I thought looked amazing so I'll be trying that next time I go in, highly recommend

Good vegan options , basic pub grub, ideal for a belly filler. Good lunchtime offer. Unsure chips where vegan? Quite greasy.

Me and a friend went to the salutation over the weekend for lunch and some drinks. We were very impressed with the service, particularly from Adam, who helped us find a table and was quick to serve whilst it was busy.

Absolutely amazing bottomless brunch! Such good value for money and food and drinks were top tier :) Our server Laura was lovely and always on hand for drinks orders even though the pub was very busy! Will definitely be coming back :)

Myself and friends often go hear for pre drinks and bite to eat befor a event or night out the food was lovely drinks were very reasonably priced staff were very friendly the Sal has a great atmosphere I made a error when booking our table but the young girl behind the bar was very helpful and found us a booth straight away the young lad who served us our food at our table was a lovely lad think he was called Mike the bar maid Demi always has a big smile the door staff are always very friendly too

Fast service and nice beer garden

This place needs to up it's game, the cleanliness of the public area's is not acceptable, your feet stick to the floor, most of the tables have chewing gum stuck underneath them and in my opinion it's a place in decline. one of the young girls behind the bar has a major attitude problem which she shows as she looks down her nose at people.

Visiting with family from nottm wasn't impressed with bbq chicken meal for 14 00 sorry disappointed.

Bottomless Brunch was fab, lots of drinks choice, probably the best I've seen. Beth our waitress was fab too, highly recommended! We will be back..

The Sal is an excellent pub with wide appeal and exceptional staff. Now open from 10am it serves a wide menu (the pizzas are particularly good), stocks a wide range of drinks including local real ales and craft beers and has cocktail offers on. Other features include a nice recently refurbished beer garden (including six covered booths) and live sports on a number of screens. The staff truly go the extra mile to ensure a great customer experience and I can't recommend the place enough.

Says it's dog friendly but only out the back .they do have booths out side which are very good but the heater did not work and the TV had no sound food was expensive portion size was not massive and I only weigh 11 stone unfortunately would not go again

App ordering wasn't representative of the actual menu available, as lunch was available on there despite not being served. And everyone I was with said the brunch items served were not very nice "cardboard sausages" for example was said. Staff were nice enough though.

Really impressed, first time visiting today and will most definitely be back. They're spot on with their allergens menus as well which is lovely to not feel like a burden for once. The staff were very helpful and friendly, honestly couldn't fault this place.

Would love to rate the food here, but sadly turned down for brunch at 12.05 which I understand but if you won't supply a cooked breakfast past 12 on a BRUNCH menu which was on all the tables, then should remove the menu offering it at 11.59am to avoid any confusion and disappointment.

Called in for breakfast. Really good veggie breakfast and my family had sausage and bacon sarnies. Both got great reviews

Me & my husband booked bottomless brunch for my mother in laws birthday after hearing excellent reviews off friends,and we were not disappointed. Our server Georgia was such a lovely young lady full of smiles. The service was so fast and efficient. The food was beautiful as were the cocktails 🍸 We will definitely be back. Thank you 😊

I have received a very bad reception from one of your employees @ around 2:00 in the afternoon on the 04/06/2024 I think she was one of the supervisor that day .as I approached the the restaurant,she talked with me in a very bad attitude.

The food portions were an absolute joke, we ordered 2 plates of fish and chips and they came with literally 10 chips on it. Had to ask for more chips but we still weren’t satisfied. We had to go KFC in the end as we were left hungry. Expensive and not good!

This pub is geared to the younger crowd. However it does have a great selection of local and craft beer so I cannot fault the place.

This was our first visit here and it was really good! We decided to stay for something to eat, I had the Melt Burger - which was delicious and a couple of ciders. Overall, this is a great pub serving great quality food. I won't lie about the service being a little slow and the app just didn't work. Otherwise, I'll be back again and would highly recommend!

Had a lovely bottomless brunch here on the 31st May! Very good value at only £31 per head, this included a main meal and plenty of booze! Our server Beth was amazing, keep our drinks topped up and making sure we had a great night, she’s an asset to the team

I'm sure the drinks are lovely but we came for lunch. I'd rather have my flatmate's cooking than the cold tacos and bland chicken they served, and my flatmate has a reputation for giving people food poisoning. The peri peri chicken was white with a half-hearted drizzle of sauce, and the tacos were a single mushroom with some grated cheese and a bit of cream placed on top of a small cold tortilla.

Visited on the morning of 24th May for breakfast. My wife had the Big Breakfast, and wow, it was impressive, taste and value for money that cannot be matched. I wasn't eating, however next time I definitely will indulge. It was a quiet morning, which suited us, and the staff were very pleasant

Ordered fish and chips which was mediocre at best. More batter than fish and I've had better oven chips at home. Stupidly loud music so you have to shout rather than talk. Won't re-visit.

I'm 54. Out with kids for their 21st. Very loud and difficult to talk but I know I'm out of step rather than the pub. If you're young I can imagine it's great. My kids love it and that's good enough for me. Hopefully I'll go again when my grandkids are 21 😀

Called in for a put of tea and a fruit scone. Very pleased with both and friendly service too. Prices are reasonable.

Nice place bit dearer than other pubs

First time, and it's opened my eyes about coming more to Tynemouth for a social, lovely place and decent prices. Bar staff were very friendly also.
