Came here with my husband and family members for a drink, friendly staff and quick service. This place has a nice ambience and we also noticed they do a good food menu range. We would come back again

Me and a friend went to the salutation over the weekend for lunch and some drinks. We were very impressed with the service, particularly from Adam, who helped us find a table and was quick to serve whilst it was busy.

Me & my husband booked bottomless brunch for my mother in laws birthday after hearing excellent reviews off friends,and we were not disappointed. Our server Georgia was such a lovely young lady full of smiles. The service was so fast and efficient. The food was beautiful as were the cocktails 🍸 We will definitely be back. Thank you 😊

I have received a very bad reception from one of your employees @ around 2:00 in the afternoon on the 04/06/2024 I think she was one of the supervisor that day .as I approached the the restaurant,she talked with me in a very bad attitude.

This pub is geared to the younger crowd. However it does have a great selection of local and craft beer so I cannot fault the place.

The food portions were an absolute joke, we ordered 2 plates of fish and chips and they came with literally 10 chips on it. Had to ask for more chips but we still weren’t satisfied. We had to go KFC in the end as we were left hungry. Expensive and not good!

This was our first visit here and it was really good! We decided to stay for something to eat, I had the Melt Burger - which was delicious and a couple of ciders. Overall, this is a great pub serving great quality food. I won't lie about the service being a little slow and the app just didn't work. Otherwise, I'll be back again and would highly recommend!

Had a lovely bottomless brunch here on the 31st May! Very good value at only £31 per head, this included a main meal and plenty of booze! Our server Beth was amazing, keep our drinks topped up and making sure we had a great night, she’s an asset to the team

I'm sure the drinks are lovely but we came for lunch. I'd rather have my flatmate's cooking than the cold tacos and bland chicken they served, and my flatmate has a reputation for giving people food poisoning. The peri peri chicken was white with a half-hearted drizzle of sauce, and the tacos were a single mushroom with some grated cheese and a bit of cream placed on top of a small cold tortilla.

Visited on the morning of 24th May for breakfast. My wife had the Big Breakfast, and wow, it was impressive, taste and value for money that cannot be matched. I wasn't eating, however next time I definitely will indulge. It was a quiet morning, which suited us, and the staff were very pleasant

Ordered fish and chips which was mediocre at best. More batter than fish and I've had better oven chips at home. Stupidly loud music so you have to shout rather than talk. Won't re-visit.

I'm 54. Out with kids for their 21st. Very loud and difficult to talk but I know I'm out of step rather than the pub. If you're young I can imagine it's great. My kids love it and that's good enough for me. Hopefully I'll go again when my grandkids are 21 😀

Called in for a put of tea and a fruit scone. Very pleased with both and friendly service too. Prices are reasonable.

My friends and I had bottomless brunch here and I would like to say it was the best I have been to ever and I have had a few lol. Jacob was our server and he was absolutely fantastic can't thank him enough he truly was amazing we never had to wait for a drink or to order one. The drinks were fabulous and food was great too we will definitely be back. Thanks again Jacob you made our day top rate service.

Had the best bottomless brunch at the salutation, food was great the choice of cocktails amazing and best of all the staff were second to none and couldn’t do enough for you. Well done amber and staff. Big shout out to Georgia too who helped us get our taxi organised xx

6 of us went for breakfast today...3 of us got our breakfast s after the other 3 had finished there's...all on the same table It was served burnt bacon ..cold beans ...over cooked eggs and bone dry mushrooms..never again

We stopped for a drink and had lunch and desert. Amazing food staff are very friendly and helpful food is amazing. We had sub and dirty chicken Frys just real comfort food like it used to be. We will be back great menu such a wide choice at good prices.

A great spot which I often visit. A relaxed atmosphere through the day, and very lively when the weekend comes around.food is impeccable, at very competitive prices. Coming here is a must for anyone visiting the Tynemouth area.

Great place to drink with friends. Can get really busy at the weekends but well worth it. Lots of places to drink nearby but always start in here.

BOUNCERS START FIGHTS AND DO NOTHING ABOUT IT! We sat in here for 35 minutes and 3 fights took place which bouncers instigated then watched with pleasure. Shocking- they need sacked for their lack of duty of care. Never returning again.

The atmosphere and the service were both great. The food tasted good but unfortunately the portion sizes were an absolute joke. My husband's burrito bowl was supposed to be topped with beef. After digging around, he found one piece roughly the size of a large button. I had the nachos. On the menu they are described as a sharing platter. I was expecting something I'd be slightly embarrassed to have all to my self. When it arrived I genuinely believed they had my order wrong. It was a side plate sized portion. It honestly felt as though our food had been rationed out. Our daughter had a pizza and thank goodness as we all ended up nibbling on it to fill up. I can't believe we paid £49 for essentially 2 starters, a pizza and three drinks. We won't be going back which is a shame because everything else was great. I noticed that someone else wrote a very similar review 5 months ago. Despite the manager seeing and responding, it doesn't look like they've done anything about the potion sizes.

Good pub to sit in the window and people watch, you can even watch the parky people giving out tickets to the late comers. Nice bar inside, lots of space to sit and enjoy your drink.

Had a light bite with the family. Little disappointed with to much ice in the drinks and the wrong food for the bairn and a sourdough sandwich that wasn't great not even good but I was hungry so it went down fast. The pizza was good with a nice crust but with the other mistakes made it a 2 star on that day. The price didn't reflect what I had.

Went in for the first time today and food was not good at and overpriced. There was barely any filling in the “sourdough sub”. It only tasted like bread and it was not sourdough. I scooped the filling out and ate it in one go, that’s how little there was and for a £10 sub that’s a daylight robbery. My partner got a breast chicken which supposedly came with onion rings and fries, well there was no onion rings and the chicken portion was for like a child. And customer service non existent. Nobody ever came to ask how the food was. That’s one place I will never step foot again.

Megan went above and beyond to make sure that we had a drink at all times and weren’t kept waiting despite the venue being fully booked with other tables. Can’t fault the food, drinks or service. Went with 2 friends and served by the fantastic Beth who didn’t stop smiling and was very attentive, despite the very busy service. Cocktails were delivered very speedily and Prosecco was free flowing. Food was great too. Brilliant afternoon!

Amazing service from Ethan and Beth. They went over and above to accommodate us, and we were never without drinks. It was a great surprise to find the bottomless brunch was Alice in Wonderland themed with extra added cocktails. The food was gorgeous and we were never without drinks. Ethan and Beth would always make sure we were never without drinks and were super friendly. Of all the brunches we've had, this was absolutely amongst the best.

Ordered a cocktail and paid £13.50 as I was not aware that there was a 2 for 1 offer on cocktails. I think £13.50 is a bit pricey for one drink. Had I known I would have opted for something else.

Went last night on our Xmas night out, there were about 20 of us. We wanted to order all the drinks and pay for it in 1 transaction. The man started serving us then the lady took over, as the man started to walk away...

We had a wonderful festive bottomless brunch here. We were 40 minutes late due to road closure but they kindly started our 2 hours from when we arrived. The drinks and food were great and Becky (Bethlehem) was fantastic. We were never without a drink. The price is great too. Would do this again and highly recommend!

Great chilled pub in Tyneside recommended to us by staff in a restaurant in whitley Bay. Definitely coming back to Tyneside next time we vist the North East.

A lovely find on the way to Tynemouth Priory. The food was served quick and the staff were excellent. A wide range of screens showing various sports.

Nice enough pub. I didn't eat, but the company I was with did. The guy who served at the bar me seemed to be having an off day, but he took my order, and it was right, so...... Food came out fairly quickly and hot. Pizzas, chicken & chips and a share platter. It all looked delicious, and everyone was extremely happy with their food. It was a Wednesday afternoon, so it was quiet.....apart from sports on the tvs in the pub....which nobody was watching! I would definitely go again to try the food.

Great venue in terms of staff and atmosphere. However, despite the food being absolutely delicious the portion sizes we had today mean that it was our last visit. £6.50 for chicken tacos. I received 2 tacos that basically had a small chicken nugget sized bit of chicken in each. Only got to taste it in one bit of each. My partner had a BBQ chicken sub. Again lovely bit of BBQ chicken but only got a tablespoon of filling. For £10 it was an insult really. Left feeling hungry after spending £32 pound on 2 drinks and 2 meals. Shame as we used to love this place.

Called in for a quick pint on way back to the Metro after a windy walk. Only two of us in there so no real atmosphere. But would call back so no negatives.

The Sal is in prime spot on Tynemouth High Street, I've always found it a welcoming warm pub with pleasant staff & quite a quirky menu , well worth a visit .

Popped into the bar for coffees on a rainy September day. Great set up for sports fans and a brilliant outside area with individual beach types huts set up with seating.
