Bottomless brunch for 9 celebrating a birthday. Firstly we were sat in 2 separate booths, the cocktails were very weak in alcohol; the prosecco was not chilled & we had to wait often for replacements. We asked if we could have a bottle of prosecco for the table, told no. We ordered 6 meals only instead of 8, which was all lovely & the staff member dealing with us was lovely. But if we couldn't be seated together we should have been advised, we spent over £240 today & would have stayed later but we were disappointed with the quality of drinks & overall setup.

Reasonable prices in the food. They sell Bass ale so it's worth going just for that.

Great atmosphere, lovely beer garden, good selection of drinks. Food was a mixed bag. Some was good, but my vegan burger was a small patty in a bun - no sauce, no salad, and came with a disappointing serving of chips, not great for spending £12.50. I ordered an oat milk latte, but was given cows milk so couldn't drink it. Probably won't be back, plenty of drinking spots where I can get a better burger

Always come here for bottomless brunch. I find it the best value around. Staff are very attentive. Good food. Good atmosphere

It is a great place to stop and chill . A proper north east pub. Good friendly staff and locals.

The large woman working on the bar on 1st may was rude and disrespectful. She served us with attitude but we found it disrespectful so we left. I will not be making another appearance at this establishment again, unless something happens with this woman. I hope no one makes the mistake of coming here, and I will certainly not be coming ever again.

I booked a table for 6 of us for the Newcastle match, and when I arrived I noticed the pub was really busy, and I did wonder if the table would be available. So a big thank you must go to Laura who was excellent, as she showed us to our table. She mentioned that she had made sure the table was reserved, and I’m so thankful to her for keeping it for us. Will definitely book again, as the atmosphere was great, and our seats were excellent all thanks to Laura.

2nd time here after an excellent breakfast a few weeks earlier. Tea was very good we all had different meals. Only slight criticism (sorry) is the chips were basic oven chips, in places like lowlights north shields you get home cooked chips. Must also add the staff are excellent , polite & helpful.

We had a fabulous bottomless brunch here!! The food and cocktails are great value for money and I would definitely return. Amber was our server and she is a credit to the company! I can’t wait to come back.

I had the pleasure of visiting The Sal recently, and I have to say, the experience was fantastic! From the moment we arrived, Jo was absolutely amazing. She was incredibly welcoming, attentive, and went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable. Her recommendations were spot on, and she made sure we had everything we needed throughout our visit. It's rare to come across such genuine, friendly service, and Jo truly made the evening memorable. I can't wait to return — highly recommend this place, and be sure to ask for Jo!

£21 sharing platter was over cooked, and nowhere near worth £21, nearly black wings, greasy garlic bread and onion rings, crispy chicken fries will remove fillings as there as hard a titanium, the whole experiment as id call it was disgusting, obviously you think you can just abuse your customers and get away with it because of your location. This is a heads up nothing more as im sure youve seen Gordon Ramseys kitchen nightmares.

We were here for bottomless brunch on Monday 31st April and Laura could not have done enough for us , she was quick with drinks and so friendly to us! I was then back on 2nd of April with my mam and she remembered me and it was just lovely she is a lovely person and her customer service skills are 10/10

I always enjoy coming to this pub, staff are lovely, great choice of drinks and the food is spot on. I’ve never had a bad experience here, the location is great as it’s near the metro and the beach. We love coming here and we will definitely be back

Rugby was on and it was way too loud

Where are the rest of the fries at? For saying there has been so many reviews about the food portions being small, can confirm that they are still scrimped. My friends chicken tenders were that deep fried that there was no chicken left, my chicken tikka wasn't fully cooked nor came with the sauce stated on the menu and my partners burger had a solitary lettuce leaf on it. Nevermind the lack of fries!

Luis amazing service love this place

1st time we have had breakfast here & it was very good. Cooked well, plates nice & hot. Got a seat easily as we were in early. Tables were clean, an all round good experience.

Visited on Sunday the 9th of February.. My wife and myself and our friends... Phone signal was terrible in the pub so connected to the WiFi which wasn't easy.. 3 of us ordered pizzas and one of us the salad.. 2 of pizzas were the doner pizzas and one the easy cheesy... Don't know what meat the doner was but it was unlike any doner meat I'd ever tasted before and not in a nice way... Despite ordering at the same time one of the pizzas came out clearly burnt.. And none of us enjoyed our food at all... Not cheap either... We spent over £80 between the 4 of us for a meal that was at best average... Pub itself was OK and a good atmosphere just don't eat the food in my opinion... Visit Tynemouth a fair bit and tbh if I was in the area again I would avoid this place...

terrible pub and wont go back sat all afternoon on q table one of the few that wasnt reserved then a reserved sign was put on our table giving us an hour before we had to leave not great as we had waited to watch the football match and this was going to be halfway through then 30 minutes later a man turned up with a bouncer telling us we had to leave the tables early this is shocking treatment we wont be returning

this pub is poor for customer service while we were watching a football match they put a reserved sign on the table and then even though the sign said reserved from 7 they kicked us out of our seats from 6.35 pm disgusting as paying customers we will not be returning and would not recommend shame on you !

Quick port of call on route to north shields fish Quay. Lots of selection on the beer, lager front. Pretty quiet, but given that it was mid day Thursday, I'm not surprised. Looks like a good venue for watching live sport. Didn't sample any food.

Called in for a drink ended up staying for several including the meal deal with a drink which is an item of food such as a pizza or wrap with a drink for £8, what an amazing deal, I had the wrap & chips, it was stacked full, tasty, very fresh & really well presented. The outdoor area looked inviting & bet it’s a great hit with customers in the summer, just a little too fresh outside during our visit although some areas were in use. Early afternoon so it hadn’t started to pick up although a decent flow of customers, only negative if you can call it that was, the little flyers being given out to download the app & qualify for a free drink, hubby tried for 2 hours & still nothing, maybe by the time we go home on Sunday it may have loaded, didn’t detract from a great visit though.

Ordered a takeaway from Sincity Burgers, the burger establishment inside salutation in December. The order cost £17 for a burger, chips and coleslaw. The burger came and had a DEAD FLY inside the burger. Please see photos. I raised this issue with Deliveroo who fed it back to Salutation to approve a refund being sent. Salutation ignored me and hoped it would solve the situation itself. No refund has been issued over 4 weeks later and Deliveroo and salutation both refuse to take any responsibility. The communication has been absolutely awful from them and it’s great to know they’re not willing to process a refund to help their customers out.

Great little spot will deffo come back, lovely place and very nice staff! They do Bottomless brunch as well at a decent price will have to try that out

Friendly pub with friendly staff

Menu is very tex-mex bbq based. Wetherspoons answer to tynemouth food isn't really for me but will pop in for a light bite drinks are on a higher expence level but clearly due to the affordability of the neighbourhood posh area = posh prices for a weatherpoons look-a-like parking is a nightmare easier to metro or bus.

Dear Sal Management, I am writing to you regarding my great disappointment towards your security staff to maintain a safe environment to all your patrons. Last night, a visibly intoxicated individual not only openly declared, “I am a racist” within your premises but also directed multiple offensive slurs toward people of colour, the LGBTQ+ community, and women. While I understand that security staff may not be able to catch every incident, the continued harassment by this individual, with no decisive action taken by your team, is deeply troubling. The only support deemed appropriate by your staff was to quite up and keep to yourselves after they felt they the situation to be too rowdy. This response is entirely inadequate, particularly when the behaviour was so blatant that even the friends of the abuser distanced themselves from him, once noted by other patrons. Furthermore, there was no consideration for our safety once we left the premises, leaving us vulnerable to further harassment. I very much hope that you understand no action indirectly means support of these actions. I truly feel great disappointment and frustration over this matter with the lack of support and care you have shown. Any action now is too late; however, I trust the appropriate training is given to prevent a reoccurrence. No person of colour or gay man should feel unsafe and unwelcomed as we felt in your venue. regards,

Poor access to disabled toilet involving a step which was not negotiable with a mob ility scooter.

Went for breakfast the day before but forgot to take photos, and went for a quick bite to eat today, (took photos). The food both days was tasty, not greasy like some places can be, great service by Laura, lovely and clean, and will happilu recommend you go try it out.

We wanted a cheeky few cocktails before our meal . Opted for the salutation big mistake . My partner went to the bar , pint of cider two pornstar martinis . When he came back from the bar I asked where the Prosecco was . Returned to the bar and the young chap said I couldn’t have any as there wasn’t much and they were keeping it for the bottomless brunch 🤷‍♀️ When I refused the drinks , my partner returned them back to the bar . Reluctantly they gave him a refund . Whilst at first saying it wasn’t there policy to refund . I know where I’ll avoid in the future.

Awful bouncers that are clearly on a power trip.

Good was pretty good, fish and chips better than most chain pubs, tables were all dirty though, and whilst they encourage you to use the app for ordering, neither of us had any signal, so had to sign up for the WiFi first, then download the app and order, which was a bit of a pain.

Usually a great pub but the security at the weekend are clueless and ruined our experience

Great place with a great choice of drinks and fantastic food. We had the ‘Crowd Pleaser’ sharing platter and it was delicious. Everything was piping hot and really tasty. Great value to share between two. Friendly staff and a huge choice of drinks including various Beaverton guest ales/lagers.

Went with a group of friends yesterday and it was absolutely fantastic. We had the bottomless brunch. Food was really good, drinks amazing and aplenty. The server we mainly had was on the ball, all staff were great. We had a fab time .

Waited 20 minutes for a cup of tea , ordered a full English breakfast and a round of toast , the toast was cold and brittle also the sausages looked as if they had been cooked the night before and then put in a fridge for them to just be blasted in the microwave on the day of serving . We asked for an extra tea bag as the tea bags were only the one cup fills and the tea coming out the pots was weak, we were told we would have to pay for the tea bag £2.30 , lady's toilets rotten all in all wouldn't go back

Yesterday my husband and I visited this restaurant and ordered food through the app, the code for which I saw on the table. The money left our bank account, but we did not receive the food we ordered, unfortunately. The manager told us, sorry, this is always the case with us if you pay for your order through the app. It is strange why offer visitors an app that does not work. The evening was ruined.

Great staff good food worth a visit

Staff were rude and unwilling to help. Stated on their website they would be showing sports but when asked if they were able to put this on for us they refused.

Enjoyable pizza and drinks for our lunch stop. Will be back to try other menu options.

Really enjoyed this place, family friendly and had the football on TV, food was spot on and everyone enjoyed what they had, I ordered the hand stretched BBQ chicken pizza and my wife got the open wrap which I thought looked amazing so I'll be trying that next time I go in, highly recommend

A lovely place, let down by one rather rude colleague! That aside, the food was lovely, the lady who served us was smashing and the cricket was on the telly. Happy days!
